T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
Horrible customer service, agents don't know what they're doing. Had to call multiple times with different answers from them and weeks later, they still didn't unlock my phone I paid for

Their "5g ultra capacity" comes in a blazing speed of 3.2mbps, after continually speak with customer service the answer received is "yeah that's what your gonna get" their clearly lying about network speeds and capabilities. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY my 3g speeds are faster then their 5g, it's beyond pathetic, whats worse is they know it is will do absolutely nothing to address the problems.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use, smokes screens work better then their service

I feel 1 star is being extremely generous. My grandfather died in January and I am STILL trying to get the bill fixed. After providing the death certificate 4 times along with the paper work, the account is still not switched. For 2 months after his death I couldn't hook a card up to pay for the bill. Once I finally could hook my card up, I was charged not only late fees for the company's mistake I was charged for his equipment, which no one could locate. Months later and I'm still dealing with late fees and fees no one can explain. I call and get fake names, am hung up, or given the run around every single time. I've asked for itemized bills numerous times to see what exactly I am charged for and never once received one. Almost a year later and I got tired so I asked if my phone was unlocked to go to another provider because my issues were still unsolved and I was told the phone was unlocked (it wasn't). Well, Tmobile played themselves. Now, I traded in the locked phone for the same exact one with a new provider, I owe nothing on my phone, and since the bill was never placed in my name like I asked it is unpaid and never will be again. Please please please find a provider that not only values you and makes sure you feel heard but also hasn't faced numerous lawsuits for data security breech and violating consumer rights.
Tip for consumers:
Please don’t

OUR SERVICE WOULD NOT WORK AT OUR NEW HOUSE, TMOBILE WORKED ON IT FOR 4 MONTHS. THEY WORKED ON THE PHONES AND TOWERS AND SIM CARDS, BUT NO SERVICE FOR 4 MONTHS. THEY KNEW WE WERE USING TRAC PHONES FROM WALMART THE WHOLE TIME, BUT THEY STILL SENT A $450 BILL FOR THE 4 MONTHS. THEY REFUSED TO WORK WITH US ON THE BILL. THERE IS NO WAY ANYONE WOULD PAY THAT BILL. THEY SENT ME TO COLLECTIONS AND IT CAME OFF AFTER 2 YEARS, NOW THEY PUT IT BACK ON WITH A NEW DATE. ILLEGALLY! THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ELDERLY PEOPLE. BEWARE!

My mother-in-law got a new phone in November. The agent set her phone and monthly installments onto my account by accident. Figured out he put it on the wrong account, and switched it back to the right one... Except he forgot to move her monthly installments. He moved my husband's lease instead. Fast forward 4 weeks, 12 hours and a cancelled account- and guess who TMobile is still trying to make pay for their error? Yup, that would be me. I had the pleasure of a supervisor say "well, we know it's our mistake but we're only charging you a small amount each month". Seriously? So we cancel my account, pay off the two leases that actually belong on my account and find out that they're still going to try and make me pay for her instalment plan even though it was their fault. I filed a BBB and CFPB complaint against them today. I never signed an agreement to have it on my account in the first place. Stay far far far away from these folks. AT&T 5G is way better and I don't have any phone or billing issues for that matter

I have called them time and time again. Brought my $#*! over to the store etc etc. guess what they either blow you off, disconnect over the phone. Or say they are gonna fix it then don't.
SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. I HAVE BROKEN MY $#*!ING DESK BECAUSE THEY PISS ME OFF SO BAD.

So my husband and I go to a t-mobile store even though employees were pleasant and very nice, that's because they wanted us to buy the phones, But they lie and don't tell you the truth of how it works and then you see the consequences after the fact. They really don't value the customers that have been there for 11+ years so it turns out that my husband wanted I-Phone 14 Pro- Max so they offered $800 for a trade and we said ok he did say that we need to go to the magenta max plan and we said ok since we were getting 3 phones. So then the bill comes and it turns out that they are charging us all the phones there is no promotions I tried calling numerous times and nothing, they said they were going to do an investigation because i told them to check the cameras at the store were I was promised a promotion, Reading all the reviews it turns out that a lot of people have gone through the same issue with not getting promotions. But you know what I'm going to do I'm going to take my business elsewhere we do auto pay for those 11+ years our money is always there and this is how they treat us. They are getting customer service rep that are hard to understand and can't explain what happened, Verizon here we come. BYE T-MOBILE

After 15 years, my relationship with t mobile is over. Yesterday I called in to upgrade my phone. I was told of an offer that I agreed with... but they would not mail me the new phone, I had to go to the mall in person to complete. As we are in the mist of a global pandemic, that seemed problematic. At the mall, after waiting in line with mask, I was told that was not a valid offer and would have to move to a new contract at a much higher cost. At home again was told not to worry, go back to the mall and have the manager call in to verify the deal and that there was a notation on the account to satisfy the manager. At the mall I was turned away again with the admonishment that " customer service will tell you anything to get you off the phone and in the store". After 2 visits to a Covid hot spot mall, I now need to self isolate from family for 14 days, as a family member has a compromised immune system do to cancer. T mobile has gone from cool to cruel'
I will now try a new plucky upstart company called Ting with fingers crossed.

I am at my wits end. I have spend HOURS upon HOURS begging them to help me. My husband and I are both on the same plan, but he has an upgraded 5g phone while I still have a 4g phone. Neither of our phones work consistently for more than a day or so. I have spent more time on the phone with a third party company that has no true connection to actual T-Mobile. I end up crying after over a year of spending my time (not being paid to do so) trying to get them to provide me with the service I constantly pay them to provide. I'd take half of what they promise at this point. My phone works when his doesn't and vise versa. We will be sitting next to one another and his won't have internet yet mine will. I don't know what to do anymore other than spend half my day everyday begging and pleading with them to hold their end of the deal. My husband had a family emergency yesterday yet he couldn't send messages successfully to his sister unknowingly. I also received no answer to any of my sent messages to him. His phone reflected upon arriving home that he had been responding to both of us the entire day. HOW IS THIS LEGAL!?

Switched to T-Mobile after paying off my $1000 iPhone that I had with AT&T because of their buyout program. T-Mobile was cheaper monthly but after six months of being lied to and hours on the phone I never got my prepaid Visa card for paying off my phone Through AT&T. I canceled my T-Mobile account and didn't mind paying extra with AT&T because they never lie. I wish there was a way to gather enough people to file a huge lawsuit against these people, because paying my phone off was a huge financial burden to me all based on a promise that was never delivered shame on T-Mobile, terrible terrible terrible customer service

If i could give them a 0 I would. Bought a mobile broadband for 29.00 on top of that paid 35.00 for activation with tax everything equalled 70 something. Got it activated was supposed to be 4g network the device was only getting 2g and Internet was terrible. Called tmobile spoke to three or four different managers and around 13 different customer service agents. After four hours of speaking to everyone was repeatedly told I would not be refunded even though they have a 21 day satisfaction garuntee. Was even told by one agent I would recieve the refund and then end up receiving a free hotspot device for my troubles I guess that agent was on crack because I was then transfered to a billing and refund specialist who said sorry the agent that told you that gave you a misunderstand and wrong answer. Tmobile is the absolute worst service ever paid 70 something dollars for no service just a device to through in the closet. I hope everyone takes into consideration to not use this service and go for any other service but them. Tmobile sucks!

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. My husband's phone wasn't working properly he called to make a claim he received his phone the next day he then tried charging the phone did not charge took it to T-Mobile store the worker was not able to charge the phone. So the guy highlighted a number for me to call. Call customer service was on hold for at least 30 minutes spoke with a representative explain the situation she then called the insurance agent had us on a three way we are now on the phone for more than an hour the agent sounded like she didn't know what she was doing. We continually repeating our selves I don't know how many times explaining the situation Over and over the agent so called Marge was not helpful at all and was very rude. At this point we are very frustrated with this call. Already being on the phone for hours and still can't get any solution. All we asked was to expedite another phone so we can send both broken phones back being he already paid and they took out the money for the insurance deductible. On top of that Tmoble puts on the supervisor and she said this was not their problem it was the insurance issue and still no solution. Ruined my Friday plan no wonder this company has a low rating customer service sucks..

A shout out and thank you to SONJA at the store earlier today when she helped me. Sonja greeted me right away and then proceeded to devote her time to answering my questions. EXCELLENT customer service and very patient answering my questions about T-Mobile out of the country. I have had three terrible experiences with the T-Mobile in Ponte Vedra Beach (2 miles from my home) and this is the 3rd time I made the 26 mile round trip to this location to avoid the unpleasant attitude of the staff at my local location. Sonja should go teach the PVB people about what customer service means.

Wife and I had decided to switch to T-Mobile from Verizon. To the Magenta Max plan w 55+. We also timed it with the release date for pre-order of new iPhone 14s. Store opening time 9/9/22. A crazy busy time to head to the store, indeed. But I wanted to insure iPhone 14 orders.
Wow, the T-Mobile Longmont Hover store turned out it being a great experience, even with the multiple challenges we ended up presenting.
We were maybe 7th in line to wait. That was only about 25 minutes before we met w Susan. She was extremely helpful, patient, cheerful, patient and never condescending in meeting the multiple challenges we presented.
This included: difficulty getting everything needed w Verizon done for the transfer (our fault); getting past the credit freezes we had in place; getting past my several password recall challenges; helping us decide on the right new phones and storage needs, while patiently reviewing our past and future likely usage and even showing that we didn't need the more-expensive options we thought we had walking in.
It seemed that while I thought I had really prepared well w having lots of info ready to get it all done, in fact, I needed to get several other things done on the spot; she patiently helped me get past every challenge, and did it with cheer!
In the end, we walked out with everything we needed, having saved money and both better plan and phones than we had before. And, a welcome to return if any issues cam up.

I called T-Mobile to sign up b/c I received an offer in the mail for the "Essential Plan" for my wife & I. We signed up & were charged $111.28 initially on 7/27/22 for activation & they sent us 2 new Samsung A13s. We received the phones (2 days later) & I called them back to activate. There were No Chargers & No Sim Cards so the phones didn't work so I told them to cancel everything & we sent the phones back the same day. They did get the phones on 8/4/22 & I called again to get my money refunded which they said it would take a few days. Today found out they took $83.71 out of my account for telephone monthly service, this is $20 more than the monthly charge they said it would be. I called my bank to dispute the charge & found out they NEVER EVEN REFUNDED THE $111.28 THEY SAID THEY DID! I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH, STAY FAR AWAY FROM T-MOBILE! I have all the emails & other information, I may have to go to court to get my money!

If you just want to trade in your iphone (because Apple didn't accept the TMobile ID number). Well, in TMobile will transfer you from one department to another department from 12:30 to 18:20 finally to tell you that they are going to transfer you to another department. BAD BAD BAD COMPANY at the end I promise them I will look for a different carrier. I don't need 8 people waisting my time and not helping. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING

One year ago my wife and I switched from ATT telephone carrier to T-Mobile and from Windstream Kinetic Internet Service to T-Mobile Internet. We regret both changes. For early September 2022, T-Mobile internet was great averaging 100 MPS; by late September it was half that or less, and by mid-October, it was averaging the same as our recent Windstream Kinetic, 6 MPS with increasingly more and more times when we had no internet. We returned the T-Mobile router and discontinued their internet in early November and signed up with Spectrum which our neighbors liked a lot, and now so do we.
Telephone service has been adequate until recently, with occasional dead spots like the parking lot of the St. Lukes Hospital Infusion Center where I go weekly. This past month telephone service has gotten much worse with frequent messages "Not Registered With Service" when I try to call from home and other locations.
WHY? Last October when I spoke to a T-Mobile technician about my declining internet speeds, he confirmed that the service was oversubscribed. I suppose that is what is happening to their telephone service now. They just opened a new T-Mobile store in our small town, just a few miles away from several other such stores. We have two new phones as of a year ago which won't be paid off for another year so we can't change carriers without paying heir very high retail price for those phones.
Stay away from T Mobile until they get their together!

COMMISSION COMMISSION COMMISSION
Don't. Just Don't! I went in for my promo free Tuesday socks and she informed me that I was specifically chosen to receive their free Internet. I was tired and didn't have my guard up for SCAMMER'S. So I took the box, or the hook I should say. Anyways I already have a service with my landlord. Here comes the FUN part: I came back in 24 hours and was told I need to call this number (THAT WAS NO
LONGER IN SERVICE) because I couldn't return the box in the shop. I would have to get
A return shipping label by calling and waiting to explain the whole story. On top of that I WAS CHARGED $50 BUCKS! So I had to clear up that Mess. Now the shipping label was sent via email and I don't have a printer. So now I need to ask someone to print it out for me because I have NOTHING BETTER TO DO!
BEWARE. THESE KIDS ARE ON THEIR PHONES AND YOU ARE Bothering them UNLESS THEY GET THEIR COMMISSION!

Love the cheaper fees than ATT and the no-contract policy. What I didn't like is that the ATT cancelation fees, which Tmobile pays for, are pretty difficult to apply for, since their website URl didn't exist. Also quality of network is not as good as ATT, but I love to save $50/month for a bit less coverage (in Miami).
