T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
Just know it was the fifth call I made to them and no luck, every time they say I will take care of it, but nobody cares at all. We been told if you transfer from sprint to t mobile before the year end every phone will be free except one that you get $10 charge, and your bill should be $140 first month was like that, but from next month start charging $95 more per month. I wish I never trusted them. Really a crooked business.

Horrible experience. Big rip-off. They say one thing at the store, and then my bill ends up being a lot higher than what I was paying at AT&T. Going back to AT&T today. Don't fall for the scams that they promote.
Tip for consumers:
Make sure that if you go with them that you get a contract in writing. Don't swap your old phone and send it in. They lose it and you won't get credit.

Representative hung up on me after telling me the exact opposite of what the former rep told me last week.
Poor note-taking. Caught rep talking in circles. When I repeated her words back, the story changed.
My TMobile bills are always more expensive than what they quote me.
Last week they said I had to pay a past due balance and then I was guaranteed unlimited wifi for $35/mo. Now, 5 days later, they say I am not able to get wifi.

T mobile is trash their customer service reps don't speak English nor do they listen to customers they constantly hang up on people the phone service itself is horrible constant dropped calls texts don't go through my phone always says it's not registered to a network all in all if I could give zero or half a star to this trash company I would. I left tmobile years ago because of this crap went to sprint and was forced back to tmobile

6 calls in to customer service to try to retain my old number. Each time they promise a dedicated team of experts. Each time its an hour plus wait. So you press 1 for a call back. Not once has anyone called back. At this point, I wish I just stayed with Verizon because this company is horrible!

Check your bills. They lie a lot. Each time you call always something different. I got a free phone looked at my bill and getting charged. Called and told it will be reflected on my next bill. Next month same crap. Been with them for years and this is how they treat their customers

This company doesn't properly train its employees before allowing them to work with customers. The information, policies and or the type of service you received will differ depending upon the associate you deal with that day. If you need to go in store, plan on staying for hours. Whenever calling in plan to be on the call for a ridiculous amount of time and changes are, your concerns will not be properly handled. I absolutely dread handling business with them.

I sure do miss my sprint. It may have cost a little more but they were knowledgeable. Customer service was always so kind and answered the issue we called in for. Now there is a ten dollar service charge, amd they expect US, the customer, to file claims and know how to deal with their tech stuff.
For 3 days I have been switched between the assurance and t-mobile for no one to know what for or why they sent me to them. It's just a circus.
I left t-mobile YEARS ago for this, guess now after 10 years I gotta leave sprint too

Paid $178 for 19 months receiving a $60 credit each month. Now no credit being issued so bill is $239. Only have to pay higher rate until May. Hopefully this will straighten out. The service is very good in my area and the equipment is great. Billing -- not so good.

From 3-4 bars, to zero bars, once for 24 hrs+ and once for 12 hours during the day, with TMobile LTE service in the Austin area (*******). No warning either; three calls to customer service yielded no information on why, or when service would be restored. CS does not have access to the field repair activities. The CS members are always nice, friendly, but clueless, kept in the dark by TMobile's bare bones back office infrastructure. Losing customer data, no backups for towers, long down time. It's time to move on.

Customer service suck since T-Mobile took over it not the same warm and caring people! These folks are like robots on repeat! Always non American and I can barely understand what they are saying through thick accents! Then there is the attitude of having a sense of control it becomes foreigners vs. Americans on my own turf! Some have that I can care less attitude and some have too much authorization if you ask me! Don't ask for a lead person they will tell you they can't get one right there and say I can help you after you asked for a lead person several times!. By that time I'm ready to forget it and just start looking for another service after it happens several times. After all we are stressed out enough as is!

They only reach out to you to sell you their plans and services. No transparency what is annotated on your account on a call. They promise to call you back which never happened. A lot of promises on promotion and discounts but all is a trick to get your money. Service is not that bad and same as you get at Verizon or AT&T. Very careless customer service. You will be spending talking to same thing a whole day, they will transfer you from one after another until you get tired. Don't ever commit to a long term plan...full of BS...you will never pay same price every month...they mess something on you bill and waste your time to fix it will the same mistake the very next month of your bill. A lot has happened on my 2 year stay with T mobile

I have been a loyal customer for 13 years, but this is it! T-Mobile does not appreciate loyal customers. I'm done. We'll be looking for a new carrier I'm sure that won't upset T-Mobile. There will be no recommendations from me.

Not worth The aggravation after 14 years.

They're a bunch of thieves. Half of the operators can't understand anything for whatever reason. I've been hung up on 3 times and then they proceeded to tell me it was by accident. They charged my card while I had no money in there and put an overdraft fee on it and when I called for a refund they said it was non refundable. Mind you my phone has been broken for 3 months so I haven't used it and they can see that there hasn't been any use. T mobile is not a company to stay with. I'd honestly switch to any other company.
Date of experience: November 15, 2016
I really hope I can give them negative reviews. Their system error messed up my bill, and they insist charging you the extra fees was valid. Plus, their customer services will never admit what the other representative just said or promised. They will put a notice under your account, and form a team to cheat and play with you instead of solving the issue.
Tip for consumers:
Horrible customer service I ever seen in United States. I had bad experience both through the phone call and in store. I am wondering what kind of company value T-mobile is delivering. The what-the-hell effect?

I left Team Mobile years ago because the service was unbelievably rotten. I went to Sprint. Very good service and not any problems. How it should be when paying big bucks for phones and service. Then the nightmare happened. Bought out be Team Cr¥p!. Since day one when they destroyed Sprint it keeps getting worse. Drop calls, slow internet, deal with call people in Foreign Countries. Well today they came out in full force. Text not going threw. Drop calls. Internet not working. I call the store near me and they are lost. Call Team Mobile what a joke!. So now I'm in limbo. Lost work because of this Company. Bull$hit excuses from employees. I'm done. They actually found a way to kill a good company. Take my advice and run from this company. You do not need the headaches and aggravation.

Ever since Sprint merged with T Mobile, our service is absolutely horrible every where we go. Multiple drop calls every day. You call them and they use it as a sales pitch to try and sell you a signal booster. I do not recommend them.

Trying to get info and update plan of my significant other. They refused to talk to me. Just trying to find out if our iPad can provide a Personal Hotspot i we changed to their service. Easy question. No results! Shopping for new provider.

We left Verizon because they didn't offer current customers an unlimited data plan. T-Mobile offers that plan and the extra bonus of not having to sign a contract. Right. But what's the point of unlimited data and no contract if your services are extremely limited? I also connected my iPad to their mobile services and have found it to be exactly like my cell service. Very poor. Great as long as I don't travel more than 5 miles out of my city. Unless they increase their coverage areas we are going back to Verizon.

All promised promotions were quickly forgotten after I switched from Verizon to T-Mobile.
I sent them an iPhone for a trade-in and they lost it. The tracking shows they received it, but they said they failed to log in properly on their end and nothing can be done about that. It's just unbelievable.

I recently switched and trying to cancel was awful. They purposely make it difficult ended up charging me $430.00 then turned around and refunded it on a gift card type deal. Sorry but that is a lot of money not to return back to someone. I now have a debt on other card from paying it and the card they gave me can only be spent at grocery or gas cannot get cash back. Now after 3 months they send me another bill for $30 I mean just freaking crazy and really wrong way to treat a long time customer. I would not recommend and I don't normally give reviews but to give someone a hardship when they didn't owe the money is wrong.

In the last month, we have been charged over $200 for telephone calls we were assured would be free. They made a major concession and charged us "only" $180. I attempted to purchase a new phone from them yesterday and was informed today that the order did not go through and I have to start all over again. Now the price has miraculously increased by 10%.

My mother had a pre-paid account with T-Mobile. She passed away in April of 2022. She still had a balance of $80.36 left on her phone. On February 21,2023, I received two emails stating that her service was cancelled, and her primary number was cancelled. When I called to ask about getting her $80.36 refunded, they informed me that the account of the prepaid money is only good for one year and it expired in November of 2022, so no refunds are available. I did not receive any notifications informing me that her monies would be expiring. T-Mobile told me that they do not send those notifications out. That is unacceptable!
