T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
Took them 3 months and numerous phone calls for them to getting billing set up correctly and to apply a rebate

In August I travelled out of the country with assurances that I would be able to use my T-mobile account while away. When I arrived, I was unable to connect to any carriers. I contacted support and talked with a number of people over the course of the day. Since I was relying on my phone for navigation to a city away from where I arrived, I needed phone service. I finally was able to get to my destination (a 2 hour trip became a 6 hour trip because of the connectivity problem). By the time I arrived, I received a text from one of the support people who indicated that there were many others with the same problem. I ended up having to pay the balance due on my phone so I could purchase an esim from a carrier who has services in that country.
Prior to this, I had decided to change my plan to enable more hotspot minutes, and to remove my ipad from the service since I was not using it any more. This was supposed to take effect immediately, but instead happened on the first of the following month. At that time, my phone stopped working but the ipad was still active! Because I didn't have my pin (in other contact with t-mobile they issued a temporary pin), the rep was unable to access my account so I had to drive 20 miles to a t-mobile store. Another disrupted day but I could not access any of the sites requiring two part verification until this got sorted. The store rep was helpful and confirmed that they messed up and he was able to sort it out.
Three days later, I changed carriers (after 5 years with t-mobile). T-mobile then collected an autopayment of $143. When I went to the t-mobile site I discovered I was unable to access the bill associated with that charge since I was no longer with t-mobile. I just spent 45 minutes trying to sort this out and receive a copy of the bill, but none of that could happen until tomorrow.
The past month of t-mobile has been a fiasco. The customer care agents are not well trained and the billing access is archaic.
I now see why T-mobile has such a low rating.

I am a homebound disabled senior and have spent SO many hours every day and night for weeks on end with T-Mobile Customer Service. Since I am homebound, I had to find someone who could take me to a T-Mobile store to have a sim card installed. So...on 6/20/23, the T-Mobile representative knew full well that I was going to a T-Mobile store for the sim card the following day. What did she do? She disconnected my service with Xfinity Mobile ON 6/20/23, so now I have NO cellphone service whatsoever! I can't make or receive phone calls, and the same goes for text messages! After spending another couple of hours on the phone with T-Mobile, and being transferred from one department to another, not counting the very long, extended hold times, I was told that they could only text me a transfer code! How am I supposed to receive the code since she canceled my service with Xfinity Mobile, and I can't receive any texts? So many friends told me to switch to T-Mobile, but after the experiences that I have had, I will NEVER have service with T-Mobile for the rest of my life! I may be disabled, but still highly intelligent, and I feel like I was just dealing with a bunch of idiots from T-Mobile! I am going back to Xfinity Mobile, thankfully! RUN, DO NOT WALK, TO ANY OTHER MOBILE PHONE SERVICE COMPANY...ANYTHING OTHER THAN T-MOBILE!

During the Thanksgiving holidays, there was a "promotion" whereby if you had an XR you get a trade-in credit of $800 and then pay off the balance of $200. That's what was told to me by a Tmobile employee at that time. This promotion was too good to be true so I went online and it did say that's their promotion for black Friday. I decided to proceed but after every Tmobile store I entered, I would confirm with all their employees that the "promotion" was solid! They all reassured me. Fast forward to February, my bill is charging me the price of the regular $1000 phone and I call to ask and they claim I had to be on the Magneta plan to qualify for the $800 trade-in. However, not one employee stated that when I was at the store and every other store I went into did not mention any plan to me. I went to the store where I bought the phone and demanded to see the manager but they turn me down and tell me to call customer service. Now customer service states they will give me $100 for the inconvenience?! Like excuse me, your store MESSED up saying I will receive an $800 credit for a 13 pro and I pay $200 and now you are telling me I did not qualify but you will give me $100 for inconvenience?! I requested a higher amount because they were in the wrong and the customer service put in their report that I rejected the $100 and didn't even put that I had requested a higher amount for their mistake. I call back and they state, they cannot give me $100 anymore but rather $50. And I have been with them for over 20 years. At this point, I will gladly take them to court if I have to. They are treating me very horribly for a mistake they made.

Where to begin! First off, we were Sprint customers for years and never really had issues. They had great programs for Uber drivers, which we promptly took advantage of when my spouse was doing Uber in the pandemic. I left Verizon to join my spouse's Sprint plan and in doing so, we were offered a $250 gift card and got a free lower tiered Samsung. Per Sprint's lease agreement at the time, you could basically buy your phone by paying for it in each monthly lease. We had paid for the Google phone in full and kept it, and bought an iPhone direct in full and pulled the Google off to add the iPhone. We did that same thing with another Samsung (not the free one.) Fast forward to T-Mobile taking over; I hate them, I hate their service, I hate their rules, I hate that they don't honor a thing about your Sprint contract, I hate that they don't honor my employer's code for a discount. Come to find out, we're on a month to month lease and have been paying monthly for these friggin phones that have already been paid for in full. It's taken me months to get out of TMobile's claws. Google Fi folks, that's what we are doing now and it's $90 a month for 4 lines of unlimited data. Now keep in mind we own all our phones so there's no monthly lease payment. Stop doing that! Just buy your phone unlocked and your are free from contracts! So when we went to cancel T-Mobile they said we couldn't keep the free Samsung, the Google phone that we paid for in full, and so we returned them. Weeks later these thieves are charging me over $250 for "final lease payments." It just took me weeks of talking to customer service agents to resolve this. Please do yourselves a favor and don't get stuck leasing your phone with these liars. They have no integrity and don't do what they say they're going to do.
