“They are very good at apologizing!”

Kristy S.
2/27/15

I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.

Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.

Camera quit working, it was a software issue after talking to Samsung tech. How is this my problem? I don't make or install the software, my phone (Galaxy S20 Ultra) was barely 2yrs old. T-Mobile tech couldn't trouble shoot even resetting the phone. I was sent to a warranty store by T-Mobile that doesn't even work with T-Mobile and had to contact customer service again. Customer service then put me on the phone with Samsung tech who operated my phone from wherever he was. Still couldn't get camera to operate and said "it's a Software problem and contact T-mobile". I contacted T-Mobile again on a Thursday, lady said they'll get me a new phone and she'll check in with me on Sunday because unfortunately she'll be off till then. The reason the rep was checking in with me was simply to know if the phone was being shipped to me or to the close store. When the rep (jody from Bellingham)called, all she did was put me on with another tech who wanted to do all the things I've already done with their tech and one who has more capabilities than they have, ridiculous!. After a 3hr phone call today I was told I'll get a call back, this was the manager who said this mind you. Never happened. I received a text message saying I don't have insurance on my phone and needed to upgrade, the text didn't even contain a person's name. I always carry insurance. These phones are expensive for what they are, let alone I work construction and used to go through phones like horse to grain. However, what I didn't know is that since my phone was paid off I then lost my insurance that nobody ever mentioned. That's BS to remove without explanation. Again, I didn't make or install the software, why is this my problem that I need to pay another $1,200 for a new phone that is still up to date. Two of the three hrs on the phone was waiting for a manager to assist with the call. Definitely not how I would treat a customer of 20+yrs, most time was with sprint since Buyout. TWO THUMBS DOWN!

Keeping it short as it would take me at least an hr. To go into all. I'm a senior citizen. I got 2 defective Motorola phones with same problem. They offered me a 3rd. I said are you crazy? I chose a different brand and said I want the same deal which as senior is $40.00 a month plus tax with a commitment of 2 years. I was shown 3 or 4 phones to choose from and I picked one. It didn't matter of the price of the least expensive phones as what they do is charge you the phone price but deduct from your bill monthly so because I'm locked in for 2 years I wouldn't be out of anymore money from the original contract. I'm on a low social security so I must keep my costs down. It turned out that they added the $15.00 more over and above what I planned on and discussed. I ultimately had to go the store where I picked the phone and the store I had the other phones. Basically I was told that because it was ordered on line but I was there signing papers and speaking face to face for me to have the same deal it didn't matter to them. It makes no sense as I would not have committed to 2 years had I knew this. I was going to go to consumer wireless as there monthly is actually $15 less and no commitment and the phone I chose on The wall of T Mobil was so much less on ebay. I went ahead and just stayed with T Mobil because I had already been in with there other phones and Believed what I was told and taken to the wall to pick a phone that they offer within a lower price range. There is more to this but it would take too long. I have contacted a local station and hope they can help me as I know I got screwed.Words aren't enough and I always read everything but what I signed again was to be comparable. It was not. From the start of the 2 bad phones I put in over 20 hrs in totality with calls and trip to the store. On the end of additional questions it wanted the month and it appeared it wanted my full date of birth. I'm a senior and don't want to put this kind of info.

More options and some of the questions It was difficult to accurately do rating as there were 3 phones involved

On April 3rd I completed a phone order with customer service, sat April 8th UPS delivered 3 shower heads in a tmobile box that clearly had been tampered with! I was able to give the package back to the driver. For months now I have been given the runaround, I've called just about every other day. Many managers and customer care reps promised a call back and I don't hear anything back, this has been going on for months!
The offsite research team will not help because the IME was activated, someone at USP stole the phone and then activated it, when I was made aware, I told the rep to deactivate the phone. Now every time I call they are doing the same thing and I get an email from the research department stating no further action is being taken because the device was activated.I NEVER GOT THE PHONE and per USP website with using the tracking number the status was NOT DELIVERED for months. Now it's stating that a claim is in progress and for me to contact the sender, I can't speak with UPS because I'm not the sender. This has been a nightmare and no one at tmobile is helping me to resolve this matter, Everytime I call they telling me process will take an additional 7 days and that process is reaching out to the same handset research team, I'm getting the run around and it's not fair to me, on top of all that i'm still being billed every month for a phone i never used.
Please help me!

I have had T-mobile for internet service for just over a year now, and I can say without qualification, it's probably the worst internet service I've had in terms of customer service.

From the very beginning when I picked up my tower from the store there have been issues with my account. This stems from the fact that T-mobile doesn't delete client history connected to mobile phone numbers. So my non T-mobile contact number is so connected to several old accounts and people whom I don't know.
Second, I wasn't given all the information used to register my account so for the first few months I was being redirected back to the store to resolve problems by customer service agents. At one point my gateway stopped working and I found out I was due for an upgrade that I didn't know about because T-mobile was supposed to email me that information, but they didn't have my email. See about about incorrectly setting up my account.

They used access to my back account via automatic billing to charge me for an entire "gateway" device, ($400). And then when they refunded the amount they charged me late fees because they also returned the monthly payment which I couldn't pay on time because my bank hadn't released funds because the whole incident triggered their fraud department.

Because of that incident,I can no longer use my regular bill account to pay my bill and have to use a totally separate account. They also charged me additional late fees this month because even though I paid my bill on time, and have every month, I refused to pay late fees last month. They waived those charges, but didn't back date it to the day I paid, so this month I have another set of fees and service charges and fees that ballooned to $30. Do NOT get their internet service. Their infrastructure is poorly managed and it shows.

In November 2022 I had completed a 24 month contract with TMobile 2 months earlier and it seems the TMobile Revel phone I had just started having all kinds of issues. I went online and looked at their offers on new phones. I liked the Revel phone so I looked at the Revel 5G Pro, which they described as being far superior to the old Revel. It had a promotion for free with a 24 month contract. If I ordered online it had free activation. I like dealing with live people so there are no misunderstanding. I screenshot the page and took with me to the TMobile store 30 miles away. The store manager waited on me and explained that I would be billed $9.17 a month but would also get a credit for the same amount each month for 24 months. First bill came in I was charged the $9.17 but no credit. I called TMobile after explaining this to 2 different people I was apologized to, given the credit that would appear on my next bill and told they fixed the problem. Next month no credit for previous month and charged again and no credit for that month. Called customer service again stayed on phone over half hour and once again I was told they had credited my account for both times and they had fixed the problem. That time I got 2 text messages almost immediately saying my account had been credited 2 times. The next month bill had the 2 credits but no credit for that month. Again another 45 minute call to customer service and again I was credited and told the problem was fixed. Next bill, no credit again. Call customer service and this time I am told there was no promotion for my phone in November. I told her I still have the screenshot on my old phone's backup and it has the date and time on it 8:05 am November 6,2022. I was then told I need to go back to the store I used and let them correct the problem (which made no sense, what could the store do that the main company customer service couldn't) so here I go, called the store manager, emailed the screenshot to her. A month later I called her and she said she thought she had forwarded the email to her contact in the company but if I would email it to her again she would follow up on it. That was 2 months ago and still being billed and no credit

I have been with a few carriers, but T-Mobile has had, by FAR, THEE best service. I see some of these reviews, and they remind me of when my father complains about his phone not working, as he doesn't know how to use it, mostly because he purchased a brand new Moto 6 expecting to get iPhone performance. I Started with T-mobile purchasing/paying off, an iPhone 11… it's been roughly 3 years without having any issues. Not ONE. The only problem I have right now is purchasing a new phone while staying with T-Mobile. Though the deals are not great, but I will stay with T-Mobile for the foreseeable future. Verizon, AT&T, no other service carriers comp air to T-mobile if you want to pay off a new phone while having great service. If you are going to buy a $50 Moto G, or Galaxy A-03, you should expect what a $50 phone can do in performance.
The service is not what is holding you back, it is your phones $3 cpu. You expect all phones to work exactly the same…$50 phones should work just as well as a brand new $1400 iPhone right?
This is the problem with the world, you all got participation trophies as kids, so you expect to do less while receiving the same reward as the teams mvp. There is a reason iPhones are $1000+ and the Moto G is $50. Using a $50 phone with T-Mobile is like buying 93 octane gas for your 1987 dodge shadow… it doesn't make your ride just as pleasant as driving in a Mercedes simply because it sounds expensive. I understand many can not afford monthly payments to pay off phones, but those who can not do so, or having buyers remorse, should not complain pointing fingers at the service. I am so sick of everyone's entitlement spewing from their pores. I get heated when children do not understand the world, so I digress…. My reason for 4 stars, and if T-Mobile is reading, please come out with better plans for existing customers. Also, I am currently using Verizon for home internet as T-Mobile does not yet offer service in area of *******, please expand 5g home internet, and give existing customers a little bit of a better deal on phones… please, and thank you - John, Holmdel NJ

We switched to T-Mobile on 10/31/21. There was a great deal to move our Sprint account over and upgrade our phone. We owed a little over $300 on our old phones which I paid in full while we were at the store in Middleburg, Florida. We received the phones quicker than expected and were very happy. BUT we never received a shipping label to return our old phones. Just after Thanksgiving I went back to the store to see if I could return our old phones because the NEW phones were now showing up on my bill. The store told me that it had been entered wrong and apologized, they stated they would call me with a resolution-- which they never did-- I waited several weeks. It is now after Christmas and I had to call customer service at T-Mobile. It sounded like they understood the issue and the supervisor promised me a call today. She called me back-- but thought she was calling because of a charge-- she had NO IDEA that we even spoke yesterday and did not remember my situation so I had to go thru this --AGAIN. Finally she said she understood and basically I have to go back to the store. That's hilarious because the store told me I have to wait until "Corporate escalates the issue". SO -- lesson learned on 10/31/21, I paid off iphone x phones that I will never use again at a cost of $300 just so they could CHARGE me for the new phones. Yes, this is bait and switch. It is disappointing when companies so not or worse can NOT fix THEIR mistake! I would think twice before going to T-Mobile. I will be going back to the store after 1/1/22 when they open to turn these phones back in to use our old phones and then we will go to a company that is not trying to scam people!

In December, I purchased a Pixel Pro 6 with T-Mobile on a contract for 24 months by paying $150 down payment and $12.75/month for next 24 months. Sounded like a great deal so I asked them all relevant questions like what is needed from my end.
- They confirmed that there's nothing needed from my end except the payment.
- No new line required to add
- No phone trade in

But when I received my bill, they charged me $31.25. I contacted them and they confirmed the offer and said it will be applied in next billing cycle as it takes at least one billing cycle to reflect the changes.

I went ahead with it and got the phone. But what I received was a faulty phone.
- It drops the network to zero in different areas of my house.
- My call gets disconnected during conversations.
- Sometime text messages does not get through, unable to send and gives 111 error.
- Phone calls are getting VMs sometimes does not even show a call received log due to network drop.
- Once I received 10 text messages after 3 days at once which were pending on 3 days prior to receipt.

When I called regarding this, they said they're doing repairs on towers and should be okay in next 24 hours. This reason was given to me on 3 different occasions. Clearly indicating that there was no repair going on and it was just an excuse to make me hang up the phone.

They did offer to send me a replacement phone which is refurbished and I am still facing the same issue. I tried Signal with old phone and its working fine without any issues.

Since December, I have made numerous calls about these issues sometimes almost spending more than 3 hours. And every time I called I was given different answers. For the first 2 months January and February, they confirmed the offer and accepted they will add in changes in coming billing cycle. But March they completely started to refuse the offers and started saying that the offer was only applicable to Business Account with a new line additions.

I have a family plan and not a business plan. I was not informed of any of these details. So clearly T-Mobile representative made a mistake and made me buy the device under false information.

At one point, executive literally said the executive did not want to help me. One said they will apply the promotion and will reflect it bill. One said their superiors can add the override, But all of these were excuses.

Now I am stuck with a faulty refurbished phone with faulty service and I am asked to pay the full price. I have been a customer with T-mobile for 7 years now and this is how I am getting treated. Also on my many occasions, I was asked to change my plan to Magenta plan so I pay more money to them.

T-Mobile has set a great example of how Corporates do not care about loyal customers instead make them buy and be stuck with them for years to come.

Definitely not happy with T-Mobile customer services and Will NEVER RECOMMEND T-Mobile Anymore.

Was customer with TMobile 16+ years. Never late and always paid. Recently found another phone company for half the cost and almost same benefits. Gave TMobile chance to keep me as customer. They said no to price match. They basically said they couldn't help me. I said ok, so I went with the other company. When I called t mobile to get my port pin number, I told them do not cancel my account. They assured me they would not. During transfer of my old phone number to my new phone (purchased from new company) there were some connection issues. My new company figured out the issue and all was good. So a couple days later, I called t mobile to then cancel my account with them. They told me my account had been canceled the day I received my port pin number even tho I was adamant about them not canceling my account that day. This most likely was what caused issues with getting new phone set up and also I found out TMobile had also deleted my online account so I couldn't pay my last bill without calling a rep over phone. (Their TMobile autopay over phone failed so rep had to take payment info over phone which made me nervous.) The first two calls to their reps sucked. The reps didn't follow thru and did not listen. I hope the third one is good as he sounded. He at least was an American and he did send me email like he said with payment confirmation etc. TMobile coverage was good in city but rural areas not so hot. Overall, what you can bank on with TMobile is they will not listen, what they say and do are two different things, they don't value their good customers, they will waste your time asking you what they can do to make their service better, when they first should have been addressing your issue, and if it can be screwed up then you can count on TMobile to screw it up. Mistakes happen. Consistent incompetence is unacceptable. When TMobile says they are sorry they couldn't care less, just empty words

My husband and I went to a t-mobile store 6 months ago to add a line to his plan and get me a new phone. The promotion they had going on was add a new line and get a free phone. The phone would be absolutely free. We would had to pay the services but my phone device would be "FREE"
We paid at the store 400$ total for my husband t0 get an upgrade and adding a new line. We were also told that the first two months of our new bill would be around $250.00, and we accepted that. After the first two months, our bill stayed at the same amount. We called and got moved around from 4 different times to different representatives. They were charging us for my new phone even tho it was supposed to be free. We were then told that they didn't know why we were told that because it wasn't free and we would be charged for it. Plus the 400$ we originally paid at the store was put toward my new phone and we should receive a refund. We went from being told we would get the refund asap, to it would be returned to us in 24 months. AFTER many many hours of arguing and talking to supervisor after supervisor, we got our bull down to $176.00. We were fine with that. BUT for the last couple months every time we pay our bill, it shows the NEXT month's bill is right back to being over 200$. So we have to call over and over again to get it fixed. Being told it's fixed and won't change and thinking we finally got it cleared up and then the very next month it goes right back up. $#*!ing ridiculous that we have to deal with this and t-mobile can't get their $#*! together. NEVER AGAIN will we ever get t-mobile. My family and I are done with this crap. Never have we ever had to deal with this much unnecessary stress and bull$#*! over a phone or service.

T-Mobile is terrible in the way doing its business, very untrustworthy and uncountable. It does not only give empty promises but also provides fake information to customers. It may have the best price, but it has traps waiting ahead.

I was a new customer joining T-Mobile this October when they had a buy-one-get-one-free phone promotion. The new iPhone was hard to order when it was first released, and I was advised by T-Mobile local shop to call its support for ordering. When I called, a T-Mobile sales representative told me I could pay one phone in full and the other free from the promotion. After switching to T-mobile, I asked for documents on what I signed up for; I waited forever and never received what I was looking for. Within a week of opening the account with T-Mobile, I called to check my account status, and I was told that I had to pay my two phones at the full price, and I wasn't getting the buy-one-get-one-free phone promotion. Back and ford, I called many times, and each time I was told they would take care of my account, and whenever I called back again, the promotion was still not applied. I told them I could return my phones and plan to end this fraud. I spoke with many T-mobile supports and managers, who kept telling me they would take care of me and the issue. After my last call last month, I saw justification on my phone bill. Unfortunately, all the promises I received were fake and lies. After my phones' return date was expired, I saw my monthly payment for the promised buy-one-get-one-free phone was now remoted from my account. On a recent call to T-Mobile, a manager told me she was so sorry for their mistakes, but it was solely my responsibility; they won't do anything for me. This is like, "sorry, we made a mistake, it is ok for us to lie, but you screw and take the blames"! This manager also told me I shouldn't trust what their sales representatives said to me on the phone. Wow, unbelievable!

Do not trust T-mobile; they are frauds. Don't do business with an untrustworthy entity!

Tip for consumers:
Make sure you have a writing on what you got; otherwise, cancel your control even you have one. If you can get one, T-Mobile's promises are not valid until they are in writings.

I was a loyal customer of T mobile for many years paying a $35 fee very month for a hotspot so I could connect to the internet while on the train to work. Then Covid came, and commuting to work stopped. I stopped using my hotspot. I didn't renew my Amtrak credit card which has a large annual fee and forgot about the hotspot. Years later I tried to use the hotspot and it didn't work. T mobile told me they had suspended my account because of non-payment. I called up t mobile and they said I had to walk into a store. I did and they said I had to get a new plan with a new sim card which I did. A few weeks later I got a $100 bill from T mobile for my old plan. They threatened to ruin my credit if I didn't pay and to contact a collection agency. I called them up and explained what happened and pointed out that I hadn't used their service for the time they were billing me for and that my account had been suspended anyway so I couldn't use their service even if I wanted to. Customer service would not budge. In fact they told me over the phone that were raising my fee (even though my account was suspended) and I had to pay more than $100 and that since I wanted them to cancel the account I had to pay a special $10.00 cancellation fee in addition. Every time I complained that it wasn't fair they put me on hold for 10 minutes or more. After 2 hours on the phone they finally cancelled both my accounts. My credit card changed a long time ago yet I never received any messages about missing payments until after I created a new account. If they had send me a message when I missed a month it would have reminded me to pay before the bill got up to $100.00.

Absolute garbage, save your money, you'll never get decent service or customer care. Had Sprint, GARBAGE, but T-Mobile beat them. Had Sprint, end of contract, requested to be transferred to T-Mobile. Assured I was now with T-Mobile, NOOOOO, still contracted with Sprint and had to do 2 more years with their trash services. I vowed I would change companies when the contract was up. Contract was up in April 2023, waited to August to change providers do to a move, damage to my house in a store, etc. Enduring crappy service, dropped calls, people thinking I had hung up on them when it was the phone. Phone loosing connection, on and on and on. I have rather chopped off a finger then have to call their customer service to get help because it was going to take DAYS to get it fixed.
Besides crappy cell service... They don't pro-rate when you switch providers. They will charge you the full bill if you used 1 day or 29 days into the new billing cycle. Of course, you are just supposed to know that. When I called to cancel service, they wanted to hear nothing but when I would be paying for this month's service at the full rate to close the account. Of course, the rep felt that I should have just known that they don't pro-rate. "It's an industry standard" he says... It took me a week to just get into my Sprint, now T-Mobile account to get the information I need to switch providers. The rep from T-Mobile promised to call me back on a Thursday, or in two days and I would be able to get into my account…but low and behold he got back to me the next week. So had to wait an extra week to activate my new phones through another provider. $$$ They want your money...but they don't want to have to provide anything for it. If I was not a person who paid my bill, I could understand this behavior, but I pay two weeks in advance every month... I now understand why my boss dumped T-Mobile for his company... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE CELL SERVICE!
