T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
Long story short was ecstatic about T-Mobile and their service in the beginning until recently when I finally decided to use my upgrade as I had dropped my phone and don't carry ins as I usually don't have these issues and do not ever do upgrades either. Well basically my finances changed soni had to stop autopay and begin payment arrangements and now everytime I call to upgrade it's sorry we can't your one or two days into the next billing cycle, well apparently I just was informed a few moments ago that the arraignment is setup for the day before the new cycle begins so basically it's pay the bill and order right then. Well my life doesn't work that way I don't always have time to do the extra as I am LG user and now that they are no longer being made I'd like to speak with someone to help me find a phone that would be in comparison to. But I can't seem to get anyone to chat with and insist and wait and wait and the Mon I leave my phone to get a drink use the bathroom light a cig, they finally come on and wait literally a min maybe two after I have waited anywhere from 11 mins up on them and when I don't respond withing the two mins they disconnect the chat, so it's start over again and wait well I can't sit all day and wait what is the point in being a loyal customer not complaining not continuously getting upgrades or ins claims of when you finally do need to get something your unable!? What happened to my temp of experts, my great experience with the company I have been dealing with this for months my phone is only getting worse by the day, and was told they could call back the day of payment to get upgrade well that an entire month away, what is the point I'm dissatisfied to say the least, and would greatly like to find a new Cartier that can offer me a great if not better plan for my daughter as she is an apple user! Any recommendations would be great sorry TMobile there is no gratitude from your side gir being a loyal customer to help me with my situation and I can not and will not continue to be loyal to a company that is only looking for the dollar not the happiness of the customer especially when I don't complain make ins claims or even usually take my upgrade! What's the point in staying

Please shutter your company immediately! My husband and I have been T-Mobile customers for over twenty years and we have received nothing but booty service for the past five years. If it wasn't for him I would have been switched to ATT but he refuses because of the family plan and he hates change. However, after this sh!t show that I have experienced in the past couple of months as soon as I can get a new line and cell phone from ATT I'm out faster then a John leaving $40 dollars on the night stand. From crappy internet services to high bills we have experienced it all. I have read some of the other reviews and I have something in common with several of them. In this lastest episode I have had the pleasure of having to switch out five different phones. Just this week alone I had to switch out a phone because the other one I received only three months ago froze up last Wednesday and stopped working and didn't come back on until that Saturday. Once I received the new phone that Friday I immediately went to TMobile that Sunday to have my information on my SIM card transferred, which was a two hour process. That very night surprise, surprise the phone powered down three times and this morning it powered down four times and then just cut off and wouldn't turn back on at all. Unfortunately, I was at work and had to call them on my work line to which an out sourced Karen that works for TMobile decided to give me a nasty attitude because I didn't remember the pass code and refused to grant me access to express my complaint. Needless to say I had to pretty much endure the entire work day with a busted phone which is unacceptable because I am a teacher and with the amount of mass shootings that have been happening during these perroles times at these schools if anything were to "pop off" while I didn't have an open line of communication I would have been toast. Thanks for nothing TMobile!
PS. Please stop merging your company in with other reputable companies, that's not going to make your putrid a$$ company any better. After all a fungus will always remain a fungus no matter what.

No stars what-so-ever. T-Mobile has the worst customer service ever or you could say zero customer service. I order a new phone from them and it was sent to the wrong address. They would not send me another phone until they confirmed with UPS that my phone was really incorrectly delivered. They said they will contact me within 72 hours. NO One did. I called back and they did not a good job of finding out from UPS. I spoke with UPS. They told me it was their mistake. T-Mobile keeps denying and keeps making me re-explain my whole situation each time I call. So annoying. They also tell me my new phone (that I never received) has been in use for the past eight days. Impossible, I never received it. T-Mobile rep I spoke with the day my package was supposed to be delivered to me, assured me that the person who wrongly signed for my package and stole my phone would not be able to use it. LIE! LIE! LIE! So they tell me I will be liable for the charges that the thief has incurred. I call back several times and finally after threatening to cancel everything with T-Mobile, the T-Mobile Representative suddenly gets a confirmation from UPS that it was their fault and they had really delivered my package to the wrong address. The T-Mobile Representative tells me that T-Mobile will send me a new phone right away. After all I been through, I want to have nothing to do with T-Mobile. I am canceling everything and don't even want the new phone.
PLEASE potential buyers beware. I do not wish for anyone to go through what I went through. Try SPRINT. Another person that I did not know responded to my facebook complaint about T-Mobile on the T-Mobile website also went through the same thing I did. So PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH T-Mobile. I also plan to report them to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the FCC.

Our local cell coverage got significantly worse as soon as T-Mobile merged with Sprint. There are dead spots in town that were never there before. Complaints went ignored.
Recently the back of my Mother's Note 9 has started to peel off. I glued it with super glue for awhile, but now it's almost coming completely off. I went to Sprint.com (now T-Mobile) and attempted to file an insurance claim online. As it turns out, after the merger, you can no longer file insurance claims online and they require that you go to a physical store.
The nearest store is almost an hour away and we do not have reliable enough transportation to do that. Sprint/T-Mobile did not care, they told me I had three choices, buy a new phone, go to a physical store or close my account.
This really upset me, it felt like T-Mobile was trying to force me to either buy a new phone or just close out my account. And why not? Why would they wanted Sprint customers who already have phones as customers unless they get them on the hook leasing a new phone? Making it harder to use their insurance just makes easier to try and get customers to buy a new phone. Oh and insurance is mandatory.
I talked with my Mother about it and she says she'll just buy a new phone. I got back and talk to another employee and explain everything so far and then tell them, we are interested in buying a new phone, but want to know if we can get some sort of discount, we have been Sprint customers for over a decade now.
I was blown off and told what my options were again, they didn't even acknowledge my question. Frankly it made me feel like I was talking to a bot/AI instead of a human.
So I help my Mother buy a new phone, she has to trade her old phone in, big surprise there. We get her all set up, I even pay for overnight shipping. Half an hour later I get an e-mail informing me that we were also going to be charged a new device set-up fee, even though it's for an existing line and I will be the one who has to screw with the phone when it comes in the mail.
What a slap in the face. That's not the best part, the best part was at the bottom of the e-mail (I've included it), it say's: The Sprint customer promise: Transparency, tenure matters, expanded service, access to our best benefits, support you deserve.
It's almost funny that after all of this, they have the audacity to print something like that. If T-Mobile weren't one of three service providers in town, I would have closed the entire account today. As is, I ended up closing out any non-essential lines and will be shopping around until I find something better, more reliable and trustworthy.
Tip for consumers:
Ever since they took over Sprint our service has been terrible and they've completely ignored any of our complaints. Even after I closed out our tablet lines and I told them why, they were just like, "meh".

T-mobile is a joke and only care about money
There are credit cards out there that will help u more than this dumb piece of $#*! place!
$#*! t-mobile, they say how the customer is always right but now they can't understand or have empathy for anything. I got T-Mobile before I became homeless and they wanted me to send back this Box with my phone in it so I didn't have to pay out a pocket as much. Well I had no way to send it because I was homeless I didn't have no address or anything. And now they have it on my credit stating its collections and the only way to pay it now they're saying is payments of a 100 and some dollars a month when I told them that that's as much as a car payment and I am not working right now. They sat here and told me that if I don't pay before January next month they're gonna take me to court for a phone. So I Spoke to someone higher up and explain to him everything and he told me that he didn't believe that his coworker said that they would take me to court. I said what happened to customers always being right. He was like well when they don't pay no matter the circumstances you're no longer right. So screw the person that I was speaking to because supposedly He don't believe that the coworker told me that they were gonna take me to court. That coworkerwas arguing with me or the phone, how professional. I even told her I would put something down each month and they wouldn't accept it at all. If it wasn't there amount they refused it. Even when I told them I would pay it off when I got my taxes! I cant believe someone would stoop this low for a phone. I have no way on getting this off my credit. And they just wanna be rude no matter how hard I try to work with them!

The worst service l ever had.
I had Sprint for over 15 years and had to switch to T-Mobile (not by choice of course) and l didn't find Sprint to begin with to have the best service but at least the customer service experience l had with them wasn't that bad. L was hoping that with the merger l will get better reception but wishful thinking, l got a much worse reception and much much worse customer service.
I had been suffering with bad reception in my area, can not call my kids, have dropped calls, can not email or send pictures easily, have to step out of my house during the middle of the winter to be able to place a call and even that didn't work all the time.
I called three times and each time spend more than an hour with a T-Mobile representative (out if the country) and each time l was promised a booster box to better my reception but to no avail, no booster box ever was delivered.
I called many T-Mobile stores in my area trying to find a solution but no one can help except l was told that l need to upgrade my phone to a 5g newer one since l still have only a 3g or 4g (not sure) and by doing that my problem will disappear. The store got me upgraded to another phone and after paying $370 (that was just the difference for the upgrade, l supposedly saved a whopping $1000) and was assured that l will have a much better reception and no more dropped calls. Guess what? The reception was even worse than before and l am having more dropped calls thank before and now l have to, almost every time, step out of my house to, try, to make a call.
Most deceiving agents (must be commission bases), worst service ever.
Wouldn't recommend it to anyone and wish there was a choice for NO star.

I was with Sprint for years and they were bought out by T Mobile. Back in July, they had a promotion going on if you migrated your account with T Mobile, you basically got a free phone when turning in your old phone. I asked the associate at the South Tampa Gandy store if my bill would go up, and he informed me it would by about $10-$15 a month. Fast forward to a few months later and my bill went up around $37 a month. I called TMobile 1800 # and after going back and forth for an hour, the customer service rep asked if he could call me back the next night once he spoke to his manager around the same time. This was around 7pm my time. The next night I don't get a call, but I wake up to a voice mail from the customer service rep, who called me at 1:30am and told me there was nothing he could do for me. Yes, I said 1:30 am. I went back to the store and the associate who helped me was no longer there, but another gentleman was. He looked at my bill and said that in order to give me the deal I was promised, he couldn't make my monthly bill the promised amount I was told, but he would take $80 a month off for the next 6 months and that would basically even things out. I agreed to that. After my bill being $80 less that month, the following bill was back to the $123 it had been. Not the $43 the gentleman told me it would be for 6 months. I went back to the store again, but this time the store was closed down. Finally having enough of their shadiness, I paid the iPhone off, so I could have the phone unlocked and went with a different carrier. If you do business with TMobile, you are getting what you ask for. The first pic attached shows what I was billed and what was told to me $100.11 and what they charged me each month. After. The second pic shows the gentleman taking the $80 off and what my bill should have been for the next 5 months.

Rick, the sales man in the Aberdeen NC was really helpful in helping me set up a. New customer acct.
However today when I called after not being able to find out online if my new phone had been shipped or not;he tells me,which I suppose is company policy) that he can give me no info over the phone.I have the order # and any other piece of info he could possible need, yet a trip to the store is what I would have to do for their help.I have no vehicle,so it is a problem to get around.
The online support chats were useless at helping me sign in to my online acct.
So here I sit with no clue as to whether the phone has been shipped or not.
If and when it does come I will take it unopened back to the store, with the 2 year contract I signed and void it.
Online says we have 14 days to decide to abide by the contract or not.
I have no need of a phone service that I cant get help from.Sadly dissapointed.
This clerk is not responsible for tmobile rules. But they need to change the customer support ways, and allow customer service via phone at the local stores with thee proper info.As well as having some sort of way to keep up with the phone inventory in the store for customers. After spending 2 hours in the store, only to have to wait for a safe to open where the phones were.Of course the phone my contract that had been written up for wasnt in there! I asked did they not have a way to tell what was in there so the customer and them would know before a contract was drawn up for a phone thatt wasnt there. His reply was that the inventory was on anotjer system and not updated daily.Geeze.Get a piece of paper, tape it to the wall, Mark off every time you sell one.Elementary.Long rant, but I am so dissapointed, and I was so excited to be one of their customers. It is a no for me.

RANT- if you don't wanna know about it keep scrolling.
Black Friday 2021 Marcus and I decided to switch to T-mobile and we did this because we were having lots of service problems and random up charges.
When we went to T-Mobile and told them about this and they sold us on switching. They said they would give us a killer deal and we can trade our phones in and get brand new phones as well as they would pay off the remaining balances of our phones from Verizon. We would receive a Mastercard in the mail with the amount we still owed to Verizon within in 6-8 weeks. We were so impressed and happy with our decision and thought we just got the best deal. Fast forward I have called almost every single month since LAST November to check on this because we still have not received the Mastercard in the mail with the promised amount and now they was to give us a tenth of what we owe to Verizon because the value of our old phones has decreased so much. I reminded them that we were promised our bill would be paid in full and if there was a mintake on behalf of T-Mobile that it's fine but they need to honor their promise to us. I have been on the phone OVER THREE AND HALF HOURS trying to either get our bill paid OR to give us back our old phones (or just the version of iPhone we had) and we will go back to verizon. I literally am so frustrated we were completely scammed. After speaking with 8 different representatives which of two were supervisors on the customer care team Maria and Robert who also refused to give me their employee Id and initial of their last name, I asked to speak with the higher up and was told that their supervisor does not accept phone calls. I said that has to be untrue but it's fine I just needed to speak with some one else that CAN help me and he told me that the phone call end with him and I would not be speaking with anyone else and then proceeded to put me on hold for another 20 minutes and never came back to the call. I assume he was waiting for me to give up. Which I did via phone but I will not give up overall. Id LOVE for t-mobile to honor their word and promotion posted via website and posters all over.

I bought a new phone and it was unlocked, however, it was "T-Mobile unlocked." I use Verizon. (I did not know when I bought the new phone that I was unable to use it on Verizon). I read online that if you sign up for a T-Mobile account for two months, they will unlock your phone and you can then use it on Verizon. I went to a T-Mobile store and signed up for an account. They asked me for my Verizon account number and PIN. (The reason I gave them my Verizon account information was so that I could keep my Verizon phone number). The PIN number I provided did not work. But they went ahead and activated my new T-Mobile account. I assumed that my phone number did not change and they did not tell me that it was changing. As soon as I left the store, I made a phone call and the recipient asked why I was calling from a different phone number. This is how I found out that T-Mobile had changed my phone number without telling me.
I walked back into the T-Mobile store and canceled my account. I was assured that I would not be billed for the service. Two months later, I received a bill from T-Mobile for $60. I called T-Mobile customer service and told them what happened. They advised that they were canceling my account and that I had a zero balance. I asked for a confirmation number and they advised that they do not provide confirmation numbers for such purposes. A month later, I received a bill from a collection agency for $48 for the outstanding T-Mobile balance. I called the collection agency and they said I needed to contact T-Mobile. T-Mobile advised that they needed my T-Mobile PIN to access my account. I did not know my PIN because my account was active for only ten minutes. They advised that I needed to go to a T-Mobile store for help.
I have no desire to go to a T-Mobile store so I can be harassed by the employees into opening a T-Mobile account. This situation should be resolved over the phone. However, I contacted T-Mobile four times and they refused to rectify the problem.

Worst mistake ever made going into a T mobile and opening account. Fortunately my husband is a lawyer and we can file suit against them. Ok opened account for one phone, promo, we returned the phone in 3 days, due to not working, and horrible customer service, hour or more wait, and then you get disconnected. Returned phone, they charged a restock fee, ok fine, refunded or activation fee, and told us it is deactivated now. CLOSED ACCOUNT. Wrong, for past 3 months they are still charging us for the phone and service. Called customer service 3 times, but because we do not have the pin number, NEVER CAN DEACTIVATE. We had T mobile for 3 days, almost 4 months ago, yet they continue to monthly charge us and refuse to deactivate. That number has not been in existence for 4 months, as new provider could not let us keep that number, because we were led to believe it had been deactivated. TOTAL NIGHTMERE. WE ARE PUITTING THIS ON ALL MEDIA AND SOCIALMEDIA AS WELL AS NEWSPAPERS. We are far from first, they have frauded and continued to.

I hate t-mobile if I could give a -5 star I would this is the WORST company I ever in counter they are liers and thefts! Long story short it started when I pay 64 a month. I up grade my phone, I returned the old device back in October29th, they lied said they didn't have it, so up until March 29 they billed me of 107.00 why so high?! So I told them that I want my phone one I have now to be payed off and unlocked so she did as I thought it cost me 311.00, still phone is locked I called again 2 days later they told me that I never paid and that money went to my bill that was 107 so what the F*** happen to my 200.00?! Oh they stole it so I started to scream at them for my phone that I returned that THEY SO CALLED COULDNT FINE! For my bill and them stealing my money that was supposed to go to the phone and didn't I threatened them that I will sew and take them to the higher corporation, all of a sudden magically they found the phone how convenient! Still wouldn't do anything about my bill and told me that they "couldn't pay my bill" mine tou this my nearest store is about 30 mins away as of today I dumped this pos place never again
