T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
My father visited with great difficulty a T-Mobile store to make a payment on his prepaid phone plan. The associate informed him that he did not need to make a payment because he had a $100 credit balance and any payment would be taken from the credit balance. A month later my father attempted making a cell call, and found his contract was canceled and his credit balance confiscated. After many visits to T-Mobile and phone calls to customer service, T-Mobile still refuses to refund the money, even though the fault was due completely T-Mobile's inability to train properly their employees. Who does that?

The worst cell service I have ever had. My phone drops calls constantly, reception sucks. When I text it changes my settings and my text messages don't go through till I send again. They shut my phone off on second month when I had payed for Two months in advance. When I get home my phone drops t mobile service and tries to connect to my home internet. I have never had worst service or phone in my life. I had government free phone was better than this $#*!

Not only does their phone coverage terrible, but customer service is non existent. Just try to find a support number or email address for help. They are the worst I have ever dealt with. Expect long hold times and lots of run around! They auto deduct from my account and will not stop even though I have paid in full. I had to call the BBB and Consumer Protection in order to get them to stop taking money from my account they are not entitled to. The store says we can not help you, you must call corporate. When you call corporate they say you must go to the store! Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

If not for their call center staff's customer service, zero stars would've been more appropriate. I tried the gateway device for 5G internet for their "15 day trial", returned the device, closed down my account, and still got a bill for $50. Spectrum might raise my prices, but at least I get what I pay for. At T-Mobile I got nothing but a useless black box, horrible internet connection, and a bill I was told I wouldn't receive. Their bills are impossible to read. I won't be trying to do business with them again.
Tip for consumers:
How to read the bill. Make sure you get names of who you've spoken with and when.

I returned T-Mobile wi-fi device in 1 week after receiving it because of weak signal. T-Mobile agreed to full refund if the device is returned within one month. T-Mobile refunded $50 monthly fee back to me. Then they hired collection agency to get $50 back. Spoke to customer service twice. They promised to stop the collection, but never did. Collection agency they hired did not listen to my arguments and submitted collection reports to credit companies. Had to file disputes with each credit company. Please do not use T-Mobile.

Initial visit was good, but the system was down so we could not pay. When we returned...the girl could not been more annoyed that we interupted her doing nothing! She sold us the wrong SIM card, did not set it up properly. We cancelled the card within 3 hours, after we realized that it was not what we needed. CSR was great on the phone. No problem cancelling it and a refund was issued. To make a very long story short that was in March, its now May and I still don't have the refund! They keep apologizing and making promises...you will see your refund in 3-5 days. I do not encourage anyone to use T-Mobile.
On approx. Day 10, I called the Mgr back since he did not call be as promised. I guess he doesn't like to give bad news to his customers. No I am not getting my, rightfully deserved, money back. I I guess I am going to have to eat the $50.00. I have a long memory.
Tip for consumers:
They lied to us during the first phone call! ! ! I didn't know it was a lie at the time, but time does tell.

I have a friend that lives in Lake wales Fl has a phone and bought a hot spot for $300 and is constantly without service for days and days. When he went to TMobile they show him a map of the amazing coverage in that area and that is just absolutely not true. So he is paying a phone bill monthly and cannot use the phone. When we talk periodically the sound is lagging can't hear have the conversation. This is a just a horrible carrier and would not recommend this carrier to anyone at all. He is going to change to AT & T

So T Mobile is not that good in my opinion. Their shops don't have backup support. The first guy to help did not know his $#*! from Uranus. The second guy was much more helpful but could not help. 2nd LG I bought is crap and T Mobile is worthless to me

I understand that they pull you in with the no contract and add family to your plan so you each get 10GB of data each for cheap. How ever I currently have had their service for almost a year now and half the time I don't get service. I'm not talking bad connection, I mean full on it says where the bars belong "No Service". It's one thing if it's in places a rarely go but I get "No Service" close to my house and in areas I work. I'm so severely disappointed in this company that I'm leaving. I've had my phone say no service in times that I really needed it like the other day when I got a flat but couldn't call for help. I don't understand also how roads I usually got service on all of a sudden I get no service on them. I mind as well sing to myself the whole car ride because nothing is loading off my phone and radio is bs.

If your were a sprint customer when t mobile took them over, you WILL get screwed if you haven't already!
They ruined my number, moved it to a business account, I called and of course didn't get anyone who speaks English. They supposedly fixed everything. Now I can't get any app, website etc to produce a bill! Just spins... come on you morons can't figure out how to get your website and app to work? I tried to get away from these dorks but they won't allow it, I've already paid everything off and they STILL won't help! Don't ever put your account on auto pay. Theyre not even close to a professional company!

I call tmoble on 24 July 23 the customer number they gave us to solve a billing issue they took our money and did not pay off our account. Then they tried to get my son to pay the same amount or threatened to send him to collection. I spoke to a representative who belittled my military service and mad like he had all the answer cause he has been working for tmoble forever. I said I wanted to speak to a supervisor and she claimed she had the same privileges as he did not wanting to fix a money issue with a customer. They play the go to the store game, but put their number on information to fix an issue. I would nor recommend them to a soul. Freind or foe. They are the worst sprint also because we their merger is the reason for all thos chaos. Beware of false claims that they care. It will cost you you good standing credit and take years to correct the worst of the worst. Get a carrier pigeon first. Horrible service all in all.

We live in an area that is supposed to have 5G service from T Mobile so we signed up for high speed home internet. It took about 2 months to get the "gateway" device and once it arrived I set it up. We could only get "poor" internet service wit a maximum of 5MBPS, usually a lot less if there is such a thing. In attempting to return the device entailed about 10 phone calls over 2 days and many hours on hold and frequent disconnects. Never more for T Mobile

I was under the impression. That was gonna get 2 freel lines and my bill reduced. My bill was 315 for 2 months. I called t-mobile they said the promotions would kick in on my third bill cycle and it would be cheaper. Guess what it wasn't. So i called them and they said i was receiving the promotions. When in reality im paying for lines that are supposed to be free. Im stuck in a contract for 2 years don't make the same mistake i did

I was calling to figure out my best options and to get information to possibly switch to T-mobile. I didn't want to fill out the application right then and there & the representative was rude and hung up on me mid-sentence. I guess he made my choice for me. Never t-mobile & their customer service.

Please do not go with T-Mobile. I recently upgraded a line- it took me days to activate. They customer service is horrible. I have been Stuck with a new phone and they tell me they can not activate. Wait time is in hours - absolutely horrible.

After fulfilling my agreement with TMobile they continue to charge, payed an extra payment, because I had a good credit score and didn't want to hurt it, they sent another bill which they eventually sent to the credit bureaus, hurting my credit, say clear, unless u don't mind giving they money for no reason

They didn't port out the account correctly and the previous carrier is billing me for the phone. The internet crapped in 2 weeks 3 days to fix. When I went to the store to fix an issue they said they couldn't help me because they weren't t-mobile and pointed to a sign for another company.meanwhile pink Ts all over the store and I took a picture of the sign and the sales child girl put a box over the sign to block me. Got picture anyway. No two strikes your out and I'm back with spectrum and the tech support is great. Stay away from att as well. Rip off, a phone that I had for 2 months they say I still owe 1033$ can't get photos from archive to post. So much for customer service I hope they tank. Watch for corporate mergers I think they're being bought.
Tip for consumers:
Service so bad once you're not happy they become rude and abusive.

I got T mobile home internet yesterday and was told it have at least 33mbps download speed. It had 12 and when I called they said nothing they can do. Total waste of time. I would rather put my $#*! and balls in a blender than have T mobile.

They make you believe that you will be getting a check mail to you for trading your phone in.
It is a lie to get you in.

I will definitely be switching from t mobile.

They kept letting my ex wife into my account, once I had enough I moved to Verizon. But tmobile refused to unlock multiple phones I had paid off 8 months ago. I had to get my lawyer involved to make this happen. Don't trust tmobile!

I want to port out # from Tmobile to another provider. Reason, wanted to save on cost. CS try their best to send customer port out/port in number BUT TMobile system does not allow it to go through. They cannot send to your phone number. Not to your email address. Tmobile wants customer to go to retail store. IMAGINE the inconvenience! The only saving grace for TMobile their customer service agents try their best to assuage customer - but what can they do if they are block by their system?

I recently purchased a new iphone (14 pro max) and this entire process has been unnecessarily stressful. Apparently the 14 doesn't have a sim card slot. So i'd assume that apple would make this change for connivence. But, after arriving at the tmobile store to have them transfer my line, they tell me they couldn't because I HAVE to have a specific person do that for me (My phone plan is under my mom's business plan). It makes no sense to be because what if that person doesn't work for the company anymore? They're telling me theres really nothing they could do to help with the situation. I also did have to turn in the phone on the same day for differed trade-in because it was the last day. (couldn't do it earlier because of another variety if issues with the phone) The associate girl tells me "oh you can still do that but you wont have a device to use". Anyways, if I, I'd go start a new phone plan somewhere else.

I'm trying to help a 78yr. Old friend cancel his aircard he no longer uses. He went into the store to cancel his card. He was told he had to pay his balance of $94. The T-Mobile rep charged his bank account $904, and he got the run around to dial 611 to cancel. The line never had a tone of any sort. So I called on his behalf, 75 min later, 8 representatives (one who had no idea what an aircard was), and still no resolution. What the heck is going on T-Mobile? An elderly man has been dealing with this for 2 MONTHS! He told me his frustration and still we can't get 1 rep to cancel an aircard. Maybe just maybe you might want to hire people who have at least graduated high school, and please train them well enough to call themselves customer service representatives. UNBELIEVABLE.
