T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
First off they sell me 5G service and give me a 3G phone... I had no clue for the first 3 months, but then when I asked about slow speeds, they wanted to sell me a really pricey phone. I chose to direct source my phone and then after getting a 5G device, the internet starts having issues. They blamed my device, they said I had a bad SIM card, they said a tower was being updated in my area... 1 tower in my area needs service and for some reason it hasn't been fixed in over 9 months? They will lie, they will hang up on you, they will ask the same questions over and over until you realize nobody gives a $#*! about helping you, they just want their payments!

The service from the store representitives was great and they were friendly however the card purchased for my phone didnt work, nor did a subsequent card we installed. Perhaps the company policies need to be changed so customers are able to get a refund for things that they are unable to get to work. I am not sure but perhaps it may have been my phone and older technology but if that were the case, the tmobile representitives should have been aware of that, and stated that due to the outdated programming or age of the phone, it will not work. Regardless, we were unable to get a refund on the sim card that did not work in the phone and I feel that it is wrong to have to pay for a service that did not work.

I went to T Mobile store located at 1215 W Pioneer Pkwy Ste 270 Grand Prairie, TX ******* Friday10/7/202. The manager is who one who assisted me. I needed a screen protector replaced and he told me were out and he would order me one. I located one not even 2 minutes after he placed the order so I showed him and asked him to cancel the order and he said No, I already placed it and you will have to wait now. I was having some info transferred from my phone and was waiting. Well, he goon to a worker because she did not insist a person buy the phone and told her next time you tell them we do not give out price quotes they need to buy something. Now, I drive out of my way to go to this location and will have to drive even further to go elsewhere. Truly thinking of leaving T Mobile after 14 years of being with T Mobile. I picked up a change phone so I have no proof.

If I could it would be zero. Worst ever. Had service since March still can't count on it being there when I need it. 5g my az. I never have over 1 bar maybe 2. No GPS every other time I go to use it. They sent me 2 cases for an S9 knowing mine were Ultra 22s. But the won't take them back and they charge me for them every month. They were to rebate 1600 on phones which they never did. We submitted information twice as they told us but never received anything. I spent days on the phone with tech service. Never get anything resolved. I tried to go to Verizon, but tmobile said one phone was realeased to go and one wasn't even though they were paid off when we came to tmobile. I suppose I will have to hire an attorney and sue them for false advertising and charging for 5G when they don't even have it. They say the tower is down. How long does it take to get a tower up and running again? Worst company ever. BEWARE.

After being with the company for 20 years (since they were VoiceStream), I had to close my account with TMobile. To start, it has the worst reception of any carrier in NJ. They make you buy a signal booster which marginally works. When they upgraded the service in the area not only did it NOT help my cell signal, it also caused problems on ALL my phones on the account. TMobile refused to help and I had to cancel service. Not only did they charge me full price for bad service, but they charged me two months AFTER I switched carriers. And then they charged me 300 dollars for the signal booster with a note saying I had 60 days to return it. WOW. I switched to Cricket wireless and have zero problems AND its cheaper!

I received a defective phone. After the 2nd time of going back the manager said they could order me a new phone but it would cost me 20.00. The 3rd time they ordered me a new phone. When the new phone came they charged me 22.00. The manager had told me they would credit me the 20.00. I called trying to get my credit to no avail. Bottom line is they have defective devices and then charge you to get one that works. I highly recommend you do not use T-Mobile unless you have money to throw away.

I wanted to shut my phone. Off I switched to a better company. And they wouldn't answer my question I told them I am not paying for service when I canceled it. The person who I was talking to said yes you are. They are the meanest. Customer service. And I tried to ask them they said I seen it already wouldn't help me at all and just left the chat gave it to someone else.

Horrible, inquired about service was sent a Sim card. Never activated it. T mobile ended up putting a fake number in to the account in order to start charging me payments. I did not agree to this. After 4 months of charging me 85$+tax, I went to the store to get my money back. After it was not in my account after 2 weeks I called. The informed me I'd need to wait a month. Month went by npthing. Same thing again I called was told to wait a month, still nothing. Was told to go to the t-mobile store again and put in a pin and while I was there they processed half of the money I paid (2 months worth). I called them today and they told me my pin is incorrect and told me I'd have to go back AGAIN to the store. I'm so fed up with this. I've been trying to get my money back now for 4 months. If you value customers service and not getting scammed go to a different provider. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with and I'm not even a customer

Customer service Over the phone is very horrible I ask if I can get a new phone and Rep said I was due for an upgrade.( Even though I still have a balance that I need to pay for my old phone 5S) And the rep over the phone told me I don't have to pay, I don't have to put a down payment or anything, so I got a new phone and NOW they tell me that I have to pay for the old phone. This is very horrible they just like to sell. I told my customers that I like T-Mobile now I'm going to tell them the truth about t mobile. They are liars! Now I'm stuck with extra charges on my bill that I have to pay and there's nothing they can do to help me out even if it was their mistake. Thanks a lot Brenda/supervisor. T-Mobile sucks specially their customer service. So be very careful when you dealing with t-mobile because they are liars!

I am giving up on T-Mobile. Their price is right but service and connectability are horrible! We have had this service for over a year. Several times we have had periods of dropped calls, inability to make or receive calls-sometimes for 2 weeks or more at a time. Couldn't call 911 if we had an emergency! I am scheduled for 2 surgeries and hospital personel and doctors either can't get ahold of us or vice versa. We have to drive several miles to go in person and get vital information when a simple phone call would suffice. At T-Mobile service center we are always met with standard dodge of "Oh, they are working on the towers" but they can't give us any time for service resumption. We dont use our phones for idle chit-chat. Our calls are important to our health and well being so reliable service is important. Can't get that with T-Mobile!

T-Mobile is complete $#*!. I am in a long-distance relationship and my boyfriend currently pays for my phone but he sense got a different phone because he no longer like T-Mobile so my phone stayed with T-Mobile, and he switched to Xfinity. He paid for the rest of the month that I had for my phone to be on and then after that month my phone was completely turned off. I was no longer able to make any calls or send any messages without Wi-Fi yet T-Mobile is trying to charge him $275 even though my phone has been turned off and not in use. I tried to switch the carrier and they told me that I had to pay $275 before I was allowed to switch my carrier which is wrong because I should not have to pay something when I wasn't given any extra months of service. There is no reason I should be getting charged $275 for nothing so please never go to T-Mobile unless you wanna get $#*!ed in $#*!.

I'm a 19 yr loyal customer. In July 2022 I went into the t-mobile store in Santa Maria, CA on Betteravia rd to look into upgrading my Samsung galaxy s 10. I was told l qualified for a galaxy s22 with the trade in of my s10. Great. On Aug 1st i received my bill, they added the phone to a payment plan. I called 611, they removed the charge. Sep 1, they added the charge back in, I called they removed it. Oct 1 they added the charge back in, I called 611 and they removed it. Nov 1, I called, they fixed it, here it is Dec. I need to make another call. T-mobile once again screwed it up. I'm considering cutting my losses and switching to ATT or Verizon. I'm ready to kiss 19 year goodbye. This is how they treat loyal customers.

I closed my T-Mobile account in May of 2022. I paid off the phone and all the lines on the account in full, soon after that I started receiving bills for an account that was supposedly closed down. I called customer service and the issue was solved and, they gave me a credit in the account. But then I kept receiving bills in the mail, even after I got the credit back. I even went into the store because I called customer service and they said they were unable to help me resolve it over the phone, I went to the store and they couldn't help me and told me to call customer service which I had already done numerous times. Which is very unprofessional and I was basically put on a wild goose chase. This is the worst experience I've had with a company in my whole entire life. They just sent me a "final notice" of $404.09 and deactivated my account which was closed in May. They also keep threatening to send me to a collection agency and credit bureau.

In February 2023 we found a promotion that promised a free line if we already had 3 lines and plan Magenta Max, we met those conditions. We called a T-mobile operator to be sure that the fourth line would be for free. The operator confirmed that and promised a total bill would be $170. After the confirmation we ordered a SIM. When we got a SIM, we unfortunately, realized we are charged $200. We called T-mobile again to solve the issue because we were expecting the promotion. They said various reasons why we cannot expect the promotion but after careful review eventually agreed that we are legitimate for the it and the promotion just wasn't applied in the system. Finally, the operators of T-mobile claim they are not able to help us resolve the problem, and the promotion which was promised by the carrier is not working. We are really dissapointed by this case.

They don't want you to get the new flip phone. I've never had a T-Mobile phone and yet my SSN was flagged. They said I needed to go to a store and show my drivers license. I went to a store, and they said I'dd need to give them a copy of my Social Security Card. Sooooo I drove home got my card the took pictures of the front and back of that and my drivers license. Then I was told it would take 24 hours. I think I'm good.

This had to be THE WORST company I ever dealt with. Horrendous customer service, cell service is the WORST! No one knows what they're doing at T-Mobile. Talk to 5 different Reps, and told 5 different things. How is this possible if they're looking at the same account. I will be porting several lines to another company ASAP!

I try to call the store that i did the transaction at, but the number on Google to get ahold of them in Vernal, Ut, and the manager trevor and the phone just rings and nobody answers. Tried T-Mobile support and they refuse to fix the problem. T-MOBILE IS A SCAM COMPANY.

What else can I say T-Mobile has become the worst service there is. I have always said the two worst traits in human beings are thieves and liars and T-Mobile has become both. Their service has become bottom of the barrel but it's their customer service that really has declined I find nothing that I can say about T-Mobile anymore that is positive. I used to rave about how good T-Mobile was in fact I said nothing but positive things about T-Mobile and encouraged other people to look into T-Mobile but today I have to urge people to look elsewhere you will only find problems with T-Mobile. If it's not their bad customer service and they're lying and they're leaving and they're fraudulent billing then it's their data breaches that compromises your personal data which happened to me. No T-Mobile there's nothing good about them anymore they have gone from top to bottom in a very short time.
Tip for consumers:
T-Mobile has the worst customer service they have gone from the best of companies to the worst just like AAA all these companies that used to be good are garbage now and I would not deal with any of them anymore. T-Mobile equals thieves and liars and frauds that's all they are thieves liars and

As a long-standing T-Mobile customer subscribed to the Magenta® Amplified plan with three voice lines, my experience with the company has been consistently positive without any notable issues. However, on January 15,2024, we initiated contact with T-Mobile to help us navigate plans and get the best deal possible at that time. To stay on the current plan and purchase all new phones and increase our monthly bill from $ 157 to $270 or switch to a more expensive plan and get promotions. We opted to switch to the Go5G Next plan, which involved trading in three devices: upgrading from an iPhone 12 to an iPhone 15 Pro and obtaining one complimentary iPhone 15 due to adding a line. During this process, 2 different T-Mobile representatives assured us that, after factoring in all eligible discounts, including a teacher discount, our monthly bill would total $230. The process included 3 steps including changing the plan which is only possible by phone service. We trusted representatives to do it correctly, but unfortunately, it was not the case. The wrong code was applied to one of the lines, the other code was expired and had no value.
Despite receiving three new iPhone 15 Pros and one iPhone 15 on January 17, our account still reflected details from the previous Magenta plan. It was only last week that T-Mobile finally updated our account to the Go5G Next plan, resulting in a monthly bill exceeding $349. It feels that we are trapped because according to the agreement we only have 20 days to make changes, but our account information was not updated till it was too late. Until that time (February 6) we were sure that our bill would be $230, not $349 like it is stated now.
Upon noticing this discrepancy, I promptly contacted T-Mobile to seek a resolution. Despite investing significant time on the phone with various representatives, the issue with our bill persisted unresolved. I hate to be trapped: phones we used for trade-in cannot be returned to us, and codes for the trade-in are incorrect. The customer service department wasted hours on "investigation' to come up with "Unfortunately we cannot fix the problem as all those deals are expired now.

In the last few days I attempted to have a phone I lost replaced and the other deactivated. Very poor assistance and totally incompetent and irresponsible. Tech (1) was snippy and snotty) tech 2 repeated to talk over me or not let me finish a sentence and repeated to say he sent a code to the phone I lost over and over wow a example of poor assistance and quality of customer service support

I needed a new phone because my LG Stylo 6 was prehistoric and kept shutting down whenever I used GPS. Broad at the store told me if I changed to a post-paid plan I would receive this new TCL 30 something "for free". All LIES! I've had this phone all of 2 days and already received a bill for $60 showing an installment pymt towards the phone. And it also shows that I have 2 separate lines of service which is false. I paid $100 towards an otter box and screen protector but neither of the boxes were included in my bag when I left the store. I will be returning this phone. Thank you for lying to me!
