“They are very good at apologizing!”

Kristy S.
2/27/15

I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.

“No. Just no.”

Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.

I am so disappointed with this company.
I have 4 business lines and each time I call I'm on hold forever 2 hours today to be exact.
They lost all my info and want me to start over.
Never again.

I did not receive any range booster and tmobile has issued charges for that. Worse thing is they did not sent me any bill/invoice or did not notify me with letter and directly sent it to collection. I have been calling them since July/2/2017 not yet resolved. When I spoke to the Customer service spoke to Anna (her emp # *******) she said they found the device in their wear house and we have cleared the charges. After couple of days they sent again to collection for the same and collection people are calling me to pay more money. So you cannot trust their customer care reps.

Interesting thing I found cases were filed against tmobile To FTC, here are some links:

Me and my fiance only had T-Mobile for 24 days and it's the worst service you can have we have called to get phone fixed replaced them three times and they can't do nothing else and we did troubleshooting our phones are still not working properly and all they want us to do as you keep doing troubleshooting or to pay for upgrades that the phones might not even work either so so if anybody wants T-Mobile I think twice because I've called technical support supervisors probably like 17 to 18 times within 24 days

In summary, here are the issues we encountered with T-mobile:
- Coverage map is false advertising and flat out inaccurate (which after calling T-mobile they confirmed an area they claimed to have service in fact does not) - Customer service is brutal as you get bounced around reps that you can't understand, have no authority, and never get back to you like they say they will
- You signup for the monthly auto payment and it routinely just forgets the info and doesnt refill causing you to lose service.
In all the services we use as a couple, this has been by far the worst choice we've made. It has nothing to do with the money. The amount of frustration that been caused by T-mobile has put us on a mission to share our story. I cannot stress enough how terrible this company is. If anyone wants to learn more or verify our situation, happy to discuss further or share more details.
Do yourself a massive favor, and DO NOT SIGN UP FOR T MOBILE

T-Mobile brags that their service includes "5GB of high-speed data in 215+ countries & destinations."
I just returned from Spain and Turkey. Internet was so slow that it was worthless. Restaurants had QR codes to scan for the menu. I scan the code but the menu never loads. This happens in every restaurant so it can't just be the restaurant website that's slow. I opened my SpeedTest.net app and the dowload speed is only 0.2 mbps, upload 0.13! So basically the TMobile internet was unusable.

Next issue, I called TMobile 611 for assistance. My call is connected to someone in the Philippines that I have a very hard time understanding and I have to ask her to repeat everything multiple times. There are 300 million people in the United States. Is it too much to ask to speak to someone in my own country when I call customer service?

My uncle died unexpectedly November 2021. He was paid up and ahead on his bill. The administrator has made 5 plus attempts to close the account and they have been notified. Fast-forward to today and a deceased man gets a bill that states service suspended and for past due with a ridiculous sum owed. Moral of the story DO NOT DIE IF YOU ARE THE OWNER OF T-MOBILE!
I do not suggest anyone use this service they are the worst.

I've been researching home internet and cell phone plan options. I was very interested in T-Mobile although their overall reputation is that they kind of suck. But I was willing to give it a go. I was going to try the home internet even understanding it might be a little bit different than what I have but it's got to be better than AT&T! So I just went to a store to get some more information. There were two sales people there. One woman was there. So obviously they were not busy. I started asking some questions and they have no offers on the home internet. Additionally they've added a $35 initial charge-you can call it what you want. Which means the difference between their cost per a year compared to AT&T is $2 difference a month. I know that if you bundle services you can get a better rate so I started talking about plans. I asked if they could put together what my options were. I was told once they do a credit check they can. So I'm supposed to walk into a store give them my social security number so they can see if there might be a plan I might like? No wonder nobody goes there.

THE WORST SERVICE POSSIBLE. They are rude and could care less about their customers. After the forced switch I had no service and for 2 years they told oh we're working on it and nothing so I switched to another provider and now they WILL NOT GIVE ME the number that i've had ever since I've had a phone. Because they are saying it's theirs. They have done nothing but harassed us. 0 out of 10 DO NOT USE T-MOBILE.

I went to my local T-Mobile store as I was considering changing cell companies and I got totally lied too. I connected three phones paid all of the fees and signed up for their unlimited plan and all I have gotten is dropped call after dropped call. I now have to go back to verizon, what a waste of time, energy and money. I wish people would just be honest, fortunately one of the tech people told be that they couldnt lie to me after seeing all of my dropped call and admitted that the coverage was average at best. After trying to get a refund, since my service sucked, they said they would credit me half of a month. Well, I would rather just make sure everyone knows what a rip off and the fact that their representatives flat out lied to me about their coverage in the state of CT. Horrible service and coverage. Don't believe all of the press about how good their network is, not worth it. You know that old saying, one happy customer may tell nobody, but one unhappy customer, will tell hundreds. I plan on telling everyone I know to never trust T-Mobile.

Please don't ever waste your money on this device, it's almost $400 for something that runs like my Nokia did back in 2002. And I tried to get it fixed. So they changed my plan on accident apparently so I had to fight with them for days one person tried telling me my plan never existed.they will straight up lie to you to get you off their back. Especially when your device isn't working cause their customer service has 0 clue what is going on. Oh yeah and I ended up getting charged for that "accidental" plan change that I had no control over and was so pissed about them doing it on "accident" please do yourself a favor and buy a nighthawk and go through at+t if your needing internet in a rural area and have no other option like me. T-mobile does not care for their customers. And if you use the text an expert option on the app beware because they get a nice boost of confidence just like people do on the internet and they get quite rude. They have attitudes attached to them everyday. And take it out on complete strangers that are just trying to get their device to work. T-mobile you suck

Tip for consumers:
You want a tip and you use t-mobile? Get outta that crap as soon as possible. They are a giant corporation that cares not about their customers. In fact they don’t care enough to even fix one problem of mine that 100’s of other are having too. And when I try and get it fixed they charged for me for it. After the fact that I paid my bill and my device hasn’t worked in a month and a half…they charged me on top of that for a plan change that I never asked for. The whole system is ran by a douche

I upgraded my phone back in March. I entered the number they asked, it upgraded my phone. I got the new one and returned the old one for credit but now I'm paying for both phone when T-Mobile has confirmed they received my phone. Apparently there are 2 different numbers and only one is correct but their system allowed me to enter the wrong number on the phone so it upgraded my line by mistake. This was not something I was aware of till much later. Because of this I am paying for a phone I no longer have and T-Mobile has possession of. I have spoke to several employees who were going to get it resolved and provide a credit for them to only come back with blaming me that their system allowed me to enter the wrong number to get an upgrade. They denied my request to send the old phone back since I was paying for it. They are not helping me at all on this matter. All they are doing is blaming me for an error in there system. I'm paying $90 extra a month because of this phone and another one on my line that was stolen. Charging a customer for a phone they have in their possession is flat out ridiculous. How can you charge me for something you have confirmed you have back? It's completely messed up what they are doing and taking advantage of a situation the customer had no idea was even a possibility!

This company has bad business practices. Know people who have had similar issue.
Bought a Galaxy I liked but phone had no internet connection so was only useful as a phone. I use the internet daily and so I turned it in to store
But T Mobile cannot serve my community 1.9 miles from the franchise store.
Am 80 they persist in sending to collection agencies that I reported the store has the phone, and manager affirmed so. I paid a deposit they still have.
Phone was turned in exactly in time with the one day extension when required that I try a new sim card, with promise they would accept return. The sim card made no difference.
They play games at these franchise stores I have been told, not unusual treatment when they fail. They advertised they had new wide service range that is simply false.
False reporting to credit agencies demanding I pay several hundred for a phone that manger had possession is blackmail to damage my credit to extort money is unfair business practice.
They are impossible to resolve problems. Would not recommend them to buy a charging cord.

Tip for consumers:
This store has refused to correct the records. It was bought at a franchise store which I was told one can expect more problems. I recommend no one buy there but go to the company store but the connection problem is a constant in my community, Corrales, NM, where only Verizon can give internet service on cell phone. Straighttalk has a Verizon plan.

Products used:
Went back to my usual server, Straighttalk, and bought their phone. Phone was not the product I wanted but the service is predictable and great service.

READ REVIEWS! I didn't.

For years, with Verizon. Grandfathered in with unlimited data on phone and iPad. Customer service at store in ft oglethorpe GA bites. Decided to change provider. T-Mobile over 50 yrs old, $50. Transferred. Within 1 week, iPad 2G used, cut off. Only used iPad for googling and candy crush. Went to store. Package changed. Had issues with having to manually reset phone and iPad settings on daily basis for internet connection. Back to store. Was offered home wi fi, 2 wk free trial. Still having internet connection issue. Called, package changed again, increasing price. Bill coming due. Was charged $50 wi fi, only one week into 2 week trial. Called again. Plan changed again. Wow, my text wouldn't send to my mom, but I could call. Back to store. 25 minutes later, i can text my mom. Now I see on bill being charged for FREE phone.

Since I've left Verizon due to bad attitude customer service, going back, but I'm sure I'll not get my same package, no longer available.

Tip for consumers:
T-Mobiles set up requires gmail. Most difficult changing to yahoo email after being made to have gmail account.
