T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
I rented signal booster and I returned it long time ago they lost booster
TMOBILE want me to prove return device
It was 2 years ago they keep billing me even they lost it I talk talk to them they doesn't care only money

I recently moved to a more rural area. I had T-mobile cell and internet service thatbwasbiffybat best in the old location. So, I plug in the T-mobile cellular internet gateway at the new place and I'm amazed that the internet signal is much stronger than where I came from. AWESOME! WELL, NO. After 2 weeks they shut down the internet service. Customer Non-service tells me I can't have the unlimited service at the new place because they don't have enough bandwidth to run it. Wait a minute! It works fine for 2 weeks, then they say it won't work unless I go into a restricted plan where I actually get hammered for using to many gigs because I stream. What a load of corporate BS! So, I tell them either turn it back on, or I'm out. They wouldn't turn it on and I left their sorry assses and went to AT&T whose system works beautifully out here. T-mobile touts themselves as the Un-provider. They are also un-customer service, uncooperative, and unfriendly to customers needs. Bye-bye T-mobile, hello AT&T.

Tried to order Cat S22 with prepaid service on the website, checkout didn't work.
Tried same three times several days apart, from different computers, using different browsers, checkout didn't work
Chat representative on the website helped to place the order, paid full price for the device, sim card and a monthly refill.
Confirmation email did not contain an order number nor tracking.
Phone arrived 2 days later.
Activated the phone after spending 3+ hours on the phone with customer service.
Got double charged for prepaid refill.
Phone is slow, buggy, freezes, can't dial from phonebook using hardware buttons.
Initiated return 5 days after receiving the phone.
Spent hours on the phone with customer service trying to get a return label and refund.
Customer service advised to visit a TMobile store
Spent a n hour driving and 2.5 hours a the store trying to get a label
Store rep, and customer rep on the phone assured me that the issue will be resolved within 72 hours and I would get a return label in email and call back from customer service
After waiting for 5 days, labels still failed to arrive and no callback from customer service was received.
Spent almost 2 hours on the phone with customer service and they still could not process the return and had no advice on how to resolve.
In summary I got badly cheated by T-Mobile, paid full price for phone, got double-charged, and T-Mobile would not process the return despite their admission that the phone is eligible to get returned.

Tmobil did not work. I canceled my service but they would not stop charging me for three months after I closed the account. I got sorry from the rep but he said they never make refunds.

I payed Assurant insurance for almost 3 years for my phone. My screen cracked and I needed that part to be repaired for $30. My claim was approved and I scheduled appt in the store. They told me they can't repair my screen because, listen now, my battery was performing bad makes no sense! After 3 years of using phone of course that my battery wont be new! Nowhere in Terms and Conditions states I need phone in perfect condition in order to repair the screen only. I called online tmobile customer service and calling Assurant and they admitted they were wrong about it but couldn't do anything. I was ready to switch the provider. 10 days after someone from Tmobile called me and said they are going to pay $70 if I say their customer. NEVER GET ASSURANT INSURANCE! THEY ARE RUDE AND WON'T HELP YOU EVEN IF YOU KEEP PAYING FOR IT FOR YEARS! STAY AWAY!

I attempted to start service 3 times. Canceled every time. A friend worked there and told me the issue was that I kept going to authorized dealer and not tmobile directly. That's why I kept getting lied to. She took me to a store. They promised 3 lines for 85 dollars a month. I was very direct in my question. My total bill will be 85 per month, not per line. They said yes. For 2 months I paid 85 dollars. Then it jumped to over 160 per month. I was also supposed to get a $1000 credit on my phone that I didn't get. Customer service is just as bad. They lie and lie. I ask them for a simple yes or no answer. Are they going to fix my bill. They can't do it. I cut them off and say the only words I want to hear are yes or no. I don't need an explanation trying to justify the lies I have been told. The customer service agents are not smart enough to understand a simple question and answer directly. I ask them 5 times and hang up. They call back and once again. I state if you can't give me a yes or no, you are wasting my time and I have no reason to talk to you. If you say anything other than that, don't call back when I hang up again. One out of 3 or 4 answered. Guess what, they lied too. I am leaving them and will never return. I thought Verizon was bad, but they are fantastic compared to tmobile. Not to mention the speeds. U may win if you try to download a speed test, but try getting a picture or go online. 3g Verizon was faster. Tmobile on 4 phones is like having AOL on the 90s. P.s. No I don't a cheap phone.

Spoke with T-Mobile during lunch to resolve phone issue, tech suggested new sims card- easy to pick up quickly in store. Went to store #9716 8489 s. Sam Houston Pkwy, supervisor Stephanie was rude didn't acknowledge me as a customer coming in. They have a designated place for store pick up, I was ignored for 20minutes standing there, then supervisor said you have to wait after 7 to 8 people to pick up a sims card already processed and no payment transactions needed. Four other working staff never acknowledged or even attempted to assist. One staff wasn't helping anyone. They need a better process. They need a staff designated to assist quick processes to eliminate congested lobby area. I believe in excellent customer service, and I will not wait an hour for an item that only needed to reviewed in the system and handed to me. Customer courtesy goes a long way, I will not be visiting there any longer. Poor service, long wait time, and no customer service experience. I am displeased with the service all around.

T-Mobile is the worst company I've ever experienced! I was a Sprint customer for over 15 years and was fairly happy with their service and pricing. In 2021 T-Mobile told me that I would need to switch to T-Mobile since they purchased Sprint. Everything went ok on the switch at my local T-Mobile store and the representatives were friendly but that it all went downhill after that initial visit when I had to deal with T-Mobile's customer service over the phone and online. I spent over 20 hours trying to get T-Mobile to fix my T-Mobile business account login with hours on hold, telling the same story over and over again to multiple reps that I was transferred to, disconnected from, top tech tier reps that never called me back, etc. I even went back into my local T-Mobile store to get help and they were on hold with their direct line to corporate tech support for over 90 minutes while I waited in the store and were never able to fix my business account problem so that I could log into it and see things like my bills, etc. This bad customer service went on for about two months and I finally said enough is enough and switched to Verizon which cost me more per month but their customer service is so much better than T-Mobile and I get way less disconnected calls and stronger signal strength from my home and business. From my experience I wouldn't recommend T-Mobile. :(

This is a rating for T- Mobile in general and not any particular store. Our family has had a family Verizon account for years. My husband had his phone stolen and purchased a new iPhone which was causing him difficulties when setting up. He was mad at Verizon and called T Mobile about switching. T Mobile was quick to talk him into it and told him that he could easily cancel at any time (he was on speaker phone so I could hear the conversation). They told him to just try it out. The new T Mobile SIMM card arrived several days later but by that time, my husband had cooled down and his new phone was up and running. He NEVER opened the new T Mobile SIMM card nor put it in his iPhone. Now T Mobile has been charging us $65 monthly on auto bill even though the SIMM card has never been activated. We called to cancel and they are refusing to cancel unless my husband goes into a T Mobile store in person. We offered to set up an online T Mobile account to cancel but they said that you can only pay your bill online but cannot cancel. I just wanted to give others a warning that T Mobile is sure quick to sign you up and make assurances that it is easy to cancel when in fact IT IS NOT. They let him sign up over the phone but make it much more difficult to cancel. So basically we are getting charged for services that we are not even receiving and never even activated their SIMM card.

I went into T-Mobile and I was told I can have a phone for free that and so that's on the basis that I signed a contract and now I get told my phone isn't for free because my previous provider wasn't is not under that option well I wasn't told that when I purchased the contract And that's misleading and they had no right to do that they could've told me the truth and told me the amount that I would be paying so I told him that I would be voicing my opinion and it was misleading

I AM a Sprint customer! Not tmobile! I did not choose your crap company! This company says they have sprints coverage...they don't. My husband work in Wyoming often. Wyoming is usually a dead zone for phones. It wasn't with Sprint! Can barely text with my husband right now. Since the beginning of bag phones, I have NEVER had this much trouble with phone service, customer service (countless phone calls and in person) is lacking in every department! They lie, and rip you off at every oportunity! I actually sat on a freaking computer prompt for 40 minutes 16 seconds. I wrote it down! Then my husband got dropped 3 times ( remember Wyoming), then after all of that time on the phone, she dropped me! That was over an hour into this call, I hung up and cried. Then the creepiest thing happened! Remember I had been dropped, the phone hung up! It was on my home screen. Next thing I know, she us back on my phone. Like remote access I didn't give her permission to do. So then another 25 minutes and everything was supposed to be resolved! All's right with the world! NOT! The very next day, my husband was called at work! (Surprise, surprise THEY can call him!) And they confronted him about the very same problem that was supposed to be resolved. So my husband had to take his day off so we could finally deal with our problem! I am still not convinced! I will know next month! ANYBODY LOOKING FOR A CELLULAR PHONE COMPANY, DO NOT CHOOSE tmobile. (They deserve capitalization.) They will steal your money and give you nothing but bad service

I would not recommend anyone switching to T-Mobile from another carrier. I thought it was the greatest company and service when we joined in July 2023, but I was sadly mistaken. They entice you on freebies such as AppleTV and Netflix, which are really a pittance in relation to doing a bait and switch with you on new phones. We were offered $1000 to trade our X iPhones in for new Iphones. At the time the highest level was an iPhone 14. I would have been happy with a Iphone 14. We were told by the representives in the store on 3 occasions to wait until the new iPhone 15s were in mid September. I inquired were they sure that they would honor our X iPhone tradeins. I was told absoluetley "Yes". We received our iPhone 15s and T-Mobile started to charge us $800 each for the iPhone 15's. We only received $400 per phone trade-in versus the $1000 we were promised. All of the representatives that were at the store that we worked with have been fired, a new manager from out of state has been brought in to "straighten" out the store (Greenville, SC). Corporate T-Mobile has told us that under no terms can we get out the contract we have for these iPhone 15s. It disgusts me! We even changed over to their internet. As soon as these phones are paid off, we are leaving this dishonest service.

I purchased a new Iphone 14+. Turned in a Iphone 12. I was told that with the plan I purchased would lower the price of the Iphone14+ from $929.99 to $830. This $99.99 reduction would be deducted over 24 months. I was then told the promo would take 2-3 months to take effect. I waited 3 months and this deduction did not show on my bill.I called the local store and was given runaround. Rocky asst Manager
First said call corporate customer service. He could not conference call. I asked why. Then he said let me check further. Then found Promo was not allowed for my phone. He couls not tell me why. He said Call CS. Then I asked that we do conf. Call. He can't do this. They're a phone company!? He said let me check further. Then he found that my plan does not cover this promo. It was applied in error. He told me the girl who handled the sale had left after shredding all records of hers. At this point I was fed up. Three times he tried to put me off to CS. When I suggested we do con call, he then "researched" my order further. Just a total lack of caring about resoving my issue, unless I pushed him to look into this further.
This call took several minutes. Why not "research" before you pawn me off to CS? Very frustrating!
Can Corporate CS help me?

I have been with T Mobile, only for 3.5 weeks, and total incompetence with setting up my account.
T Mobile sent me a pin number that is not associated with my telephone number. The pin number was sent by text message based on my telephone number.
I tried, on and off, for eight days and several hours to download the two specific T mobile apps and the McAfee app specifically designed for T Mobile customers.
I received the same error message " the email is not assigned to this telephone number."
Six days ago, I sent the developer, of the McAfee app for T Mobile, an email. NO RESPONSE so far.
The T mobile store, three weeks ago, assigned my account to someone else because the clerk was not paying attention to the computer screen when entering a new customer into the system.
It took 4 days to clear up all the problems but now original or new problems are occuring.
I called to day to get support. Covid or not, I was on hold for thirty minutes then T Mobile disconnected the call.
I called back 5 minutes and the call was disconnected again, three times
When I finally got through all I was told my pin number was not valid for my telephone number.
Remember, when the store screwed up the accounts, the store did not send a new pin number so I cant get service without a pin number nor can I install three important Apps from T Mobile.
Oh how these millennials are so computer proficient!

A little over a month ago I went to my local t mobile store to see why my for would have sos. They told me it was due to having an out of date phone. The phone in question was a iPhone X. I was past due for a upgrade and knew it was needed. Once I agreed with the new upgrade and was getting ready to leave they go in the back with another bag and tell me it's a free promotion with the upgrade. Free home 5g wifi. Once again I asked what my future bill would be they assured me it would just be the cost of the upgrade which would be a little over $20 a month. I even asked once the promotion was over what would it cost me and they once again told me nothing it's free. Well I just got my new bill in and it's over $100 more a month. I called tm mobile today to explain how I was told it was a free promotion and the guy over the phone told me they were mistaken and it would be an additional $57 a month. There was no free promotion at the time and after this month it would drop down to $35 a month. How is that even legal to do? Do the workers get commission on this type of stuff? They literally just gave me the bag after they finished setting up the new phone. I feel like I was scammed.

In terms of mobile service... T-Mobile is absolutely the worst... I decided to give them a try, moving from Metro by T-Mobile to T-Mobile... I was talking to a T-Mobile salesperson about moving to T-Mobile and what the lowest price I could get the Samsung A53 for if I ported in my number from Metro... The representative told me that she could get me the A53 for $99 after porting in my number and paying so many "credits" or something to that effect... So I figured I'll get the magenta Max plan with auto pay which was going to cost me $65 a month. $5 more a month then I was
Paying to Metro. She told me I needed to do a credit check and afterwards said that I qualified... All in all... So now it seems I'm locked into a contract for two years paying the full price for the A53...
After contacting customer service twice... They're telling me that there was no deal for the A53, even if porting my number... There's no way to get a copy of the transcripts for that conversation with the original sales woman... And essentially I'm screwed. If I would have stayed with Metro, that phone was being offered at half the price and my phone service would still be $60 a month... Instead I'm paying $83 (and change) a month for service and phone payments for 2 years. Customer service is telling me that there was no promotions on the Samsung A53 when I switched... The only promotions were on the S21 (according to him). As far as I'm concerned, T-Mobile is nothing but a scam.

So let me preface this by saying overall I haven't had a problem with T-Mobile as a whole. My issue is with the predatory sales tactics used when asking general questions about a service I wanted to start. My daughter, 5, just had a birthday and as a birthday gift we had decided to get a kids tablet in hopes to help stimulate her due to her autism. There was an issue with online ordering which I found out was due to the fact that I have my bill split with a payment arrangement. When I called customer support the representative said it wouldn't be an issue, assured me he could add the tablet line and I could pick up a tablet no problem due to a promotion they are running currently. Well I went to the T-Mobile and they said it would be over $400 to get the tablet I was told would be free. So I called T-Mobile and they confirmed what the store said. Well I cancelled the line because I wasn't going to pay for a line without anything attached to it. Well after I cancelled I was told I can't get another new line for 90 days. Just very upset right now because I was feed a lie, and my autistic daughter is just beside herself.
Tip for consumers:
This company will lie to make the sale.

I had a promotion from T-Mobile where you give your old iphone for $850 billing credit, which I did for my daughter phone, and got new iphone in exchange, after sometime I noticed that I am not getting billing credit which was suppose to be for 28 months, upon calling customer service several times and spending hours in explaining my case and getting transferred from one department to another and sometime, my call was dropped or simply they just hung up on me. I came to know that it was a system glitch which they realized and acknowledge their mistake but I was told that since I am late in getting back to them and they have no means to put this promotion back to my account, simply in other words get lost we don't want to give you your credit of $850. I was shocked, as I have five line services with them and they treated me with utmost disrespect, almost after a month someone from their business department phone and told me that they are very sorry and accept their mistake but they cannot do anything for me at this time, worst customer service and where you go there is no T-Mobile service, fake advertisement that they had cell tower all across US, total BS

It is probably the worst Internet experience I have ever encountered. You can do a speed test and get 200 MB per second download upload 41 MB per second. Do another speed test and you'll have 10 MB a second download 0 MB upload. It is probably the most unreliable ISP I have ever had I would much rather go back to AT&T at 6 MB per second at least I knew what I was getting.

I switched to Tmobile and was told I would be able to keep my number. Upon making a call I discovered I DID NOT HAVE THE SAME NUMBER! I called tmobile back and was told it would take 7-10 days to switch my #. Since this was a work phone I could not accept that and cancelled the phone and went back to my old service. For 3 months t-mobile continued to withdrawl money from my account. I called numerous times and was finally issued a refund for two months and told I would have to call back for the 3rd. I continued to get bills even with a cancellation verification #. I also had a verification # for the refund that I never recieved. I call every month and I can never get this settled. The sim card was used for one call and thrown away. Today I recieved a bill for $242.83 and my credit report shows 120 days past due for an account that was cancelled. I repeatedly ask for a supervisor and am given the run around and I can barely understand the person on the phone. I will gladly pay double the price for my phone service with another company than ever deal with this again. Not to mention they started sending Bills to my work address that I never game them. Worse experience of my life! I would have given 0 start except it would not allow me!
