T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
We were going to switch from Verizon to T-mobile. On the phone while creating a new account for 3 lines, upgrading 2 of the 3 phones, the order process seemed good. After receiving our phones 6 days later, the equipment we received was NOT what we paid for. We were supposed to receive two 13s iphones, one apple watch and 3 sim cards. What we received was one 13s iPhone, one 12 iPhone, apple watch and only 2 sim cards. When I called customer service to tell them this, they wanted us to PAY for another 13s phone so they could send us the correct phone. Then we could wait 10 days for the refund of the wrong phone they sent us. I told them there was NO way we were paying twice because THEY sent us the wrong phone. We told them to cancel the account and we would return everything. We never opened any of the equipment, put it back in the box it was shipped in and went a T-mobile store and told them that they needed to get customer service on the line, cancel our account and provide us with a return UPS label to return everything. They get a F rating for their awful customer service. That was the worst experience ever! Brian and Valerie

T-Mobile in Ossining, NY, lies about your contract. We were sold two Flip-4 phones and traded two S8 Samsungs. We were told we would get $400 credit per S8, and when this was not written on the contract, were told it would be calculated by the company - that we would be charged $50 per month ($25 per phone) after the contract was processed. That was$400 per phone. (BTW, the final cost of the Flip-4's would have been $600 each - they are sold new on Amazon for $600 without a trade in.) Later received a statement and they charged us $800 per Flip-4. Could not cancel without paying the full overpriced $1000 per Flip-4. I switched from Verizon because they tried to scam me on insurance after being with them for 24 years. T-Mobile scammed me after just 24 DAYS of being with them. Will be switching back to Verizon ASAP. DO NOT BUY ANY PHONE FROM T-MOBILE IN OSSINING, NY.

Tmobile is thee worse disgusting company I agree with Maru. I have encountered a problem with them that they abused all my rights and left it at no solution. I was a prepaid with tmobile. I went to the store to add hotspot to my account since I use my iPhone more than the tmobile junk phone. The guy did it and switched my account from prepaid to post paid. The reason I do prepaid is because I am an optometry student at some point I turn off my phone and focus on school. I ended up with a huge bill after I turned off my phone and stopped paying. I spoke to Tmobile they said that's my fault because I didn't notice earlier. So I paid them 100$+ this month and they are still demanding 200$. The lady tricked me over the phone her name was stacy she said if I go to a store and let them set me up as a prepaid she will discuss the remaining balance. I did and I paid them anotoher 30$ and then I got 30$ off that balance. WTF. So now I am getting billed and I won't pay them. I will take this to court if I have to defend my credit score. Tmobile are money suckers DO NOT fall to their traps and avoid this company.

Approximately 4 years ago I purchased a 2 galaxy watches with T-Mobile. One of the watches was damaged and T-Mobile exchanged it for another watch and that required opening another account. The store clerk assured me that the first account would be canceled., After receiving my first bill I noticed I was now being charged for the 3 watches they are under wearables in the T-Mobile bill statement. I called again to explained that I only had 2 watches and the extra line they charged for was no longer owned by me. They said they would refund me and cancel. I trusted T-Mobile with that. So today October 31,2023 I decided to check my bill and noticed T-Mobile was still charging me for that 3rd line (wearable). I reached out to customer service and they said they have canceled it and that they would only refund me $30. I brought up the fact that they owe me about 4 years worth, so they flipped it on me saying I should have checked my bill monthly and called them and they cant go back that far. Why after multiple attempts to cancel and being told it was taking care of I should have to keep calling about the same issue. I trusted the problem to be solved. I been a customer for about 20 years. I'm so disappointed in T-Mobile. I added a line about a a few months ago and was told I get a free phone and then they said no free phone because of my plan. T-Mobile you treating your faithful customers that been with you for over 10 years like crap. I should be refunded for the watch.

I've found coverage in Tennessee to be very spotty. If you don't have good wifi most places you go, use another carrier.

Since my 81 year old brain hasn't reached the tech savvy world I contacted T-Mobile prior to purchasing a Samsung Galaxy S7 plus Tablet. I explained I was awaiting Amazon Prime day to take advantage of the significant one day discount. In response to my queries (he never asked for any further details about the tablet) he said all that was necessary was to bring it to their store for a SIM card. Due to ill health I wasn't able to leave the house for a few months. By the time I did take it to the store I was no longer able to return the useless tablet that I now found out was wi-fi only and could not be used with any phone plan. Subsequent to numerous conversations, including more misleading information, I was told they would magnanimously offer 3 months free service for my tablet. Talk about adding insult to injury... what tablet is that? Oh, the new one I cannot possibly afford to purchase to replace the useless, pricey one I already own. By the way, between Nextel, Sprint & T-Mobile I have been a customer for 20+ years, and this rude, greedy, disrespectful, ignorant treatment is a helluva way to "thank you for being a loyal customer." CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Honestly I thought I was making a great decision when switching to TMobile after their ads on TV but I was wrong supposed to have excellent coverage almost everywhere but when I really needed my phone it did not work not until I walked over a mile to get service. My mom and I switched over and got two phones from them for around $400 and we got the two lines and the third for FREE but it was not free and this is how we found out. I was tired of the weak service, dropped calls, the terrible customer service in stores and on the phone that we switched and imported our numbers to another carrier. Now at this time we never used the third line it had a number but never connected a phone to it and never made calls so we thought it was not active until we got a bill in the mail for over $500 dollars and nothing but excuses from T-Mobile because all they cared about was the money and how they can screw as many people as they can. If you want someone that has great service and is there for you when you have a problem then TMobile is not for you.

Wish they had -5 stars that would still be to high.
A few months ago I started getting random spam text messages, 20-30 a day. I called customer service and talked to someone in another country and they said the issue would be fixed in 3 days. 5 days passed and issue not fixed. Called them back and they said they are working on it and it would be "3 days" before it got fixed. From the conversations I had with customer service they read everything from a book. After 10 days I called again and they said the only way to fix the problem would be change my cell number, that would not work because the number is attached to my business.
I paid the bill they sent me and then switched to another carrier. 2 months later I get another bill because the said the laptop was not cancelled and I was being billed for that service……. REALLY!
I called customer service billing to got the issue fixed and because I didn't have my 6 digit pass code I would have to go into a store and get the problem fixed. I went into the store and they told me they couldn't do anything but leave a note in my file stating they verified who I was. I called customer service back and they still would not help me and I had to drive back to the store and they needed to talk to the sales person. Another trip to the store and a 45 min wait and customer service ask the sales person one question and then talked to me again.
Once on the phone I was told there was no record of the laptop being cancelled ( how convenient) but they would prorate my last bill.
Can't wait to see what the next run around will be.

I was a T-Mobile customer for a little over three years. I was not dissatisfied with their service in general. Their cell coverage is not quite as good as the expensive options but it worked well enough for me. (Don't get suckered into their $10 per month insurance package.)
When I decided to change to another carrier, where I purchased a new iPhone, I also wanted to sell my old iPhone. You get more for a phone that is unlocked. Although I switched carriers in the middle of my billing cycle I had to pay for the FULL month before they would unlock the old phone for me. Therefore, they then owed me for the overpayment. They only pay you back with a refund Mastercard! The Mastercard arrived SIX WEEKS later! When I tried to activate the Mastercard (three times) the automated system would NOT ALLOW ME TO ACTIVATE THE CARD!
I called T-Mobile and got them to activate the card and then learned that there are LIMITATIONS to how and what I can purchase with that card! WHat BULL SHxT!

WASTED 35 MINUTES doing chat 2/7/2023 with Michael to order 15 Day "FREE" trial of 5G home internet service. I say "wasted" because it is NOT really free (false advertising by T-Mobile). If you refuse to pay a fee for some supposed taxes on the service, your order will be canceled. Furthermore, if/when you want to return the device, you MUST get a human on the phone to obtain prepaid return label. On 2/6/2023 I tried 3 TIMES to get a human on the phone at T-Mobile to place order and got a busy signal, all 3 times. If you can't get a human on the phone to return it, I was advised to go to a T-Mobile store. FYI: Last time I had a problem with a T-Mobile billing error, I had to make 2 trips and wasted almost 2 hours on the ordeal.

Not really happy this company wants to invest over 1 million dollars into the fags and lesbians, those that are confused (transgenders) bi sexuals...which is coming from there customers no doubt...and I DON'T SUPPORT THEM! This crap has gotten so out of hand its not even funny. What you do in private is your business, but I am beyond fed up with this $#*! being shoved down my throat...in my face ALL THE TIME! Sorry there are those of us that still believe in God and the Bible, you don't see us that are straight holding rallies, parades, having our own flags, etc...$#*! off Tmobile, I'll be switching services very soon. Got children with there moronic parents supporting gender surgery when they aren't old enough or lived life enough to know what they want, but they think they want a penis, or a set of titties...give me a break. I think the parents new pscho therapy. Why do I and many like me have to adjust to something so incredibly uncomfortable to make them comfortable? Where and when is this line going to be drawn?

I have never written a bad review for any company. Please stay away--this company is no longer what it was. I called and paid off my 2 phones 3 weeks ago--when I called today to get my sim released---they need another 250 for the 'phones.' It is standard procedure now. If you call it will be over seas call now. While I was on the phone for over an hour and a half--I called tmobil on another line and asked how much I owed on my phones---twice--and twice I was told my phones have been paid off. Hope against hope if you need a supervisor you don't get Marli ID# *******---The person whom I paid off my phones with originally told me 100 percent everything is paid and done. When I spoke with the person to give me the portal number to transfer into another carrier I was told 100percent everything is ready to go. When I get to the other carrier store and start to transfer the line and then they let me know my sim was locked. I call and tmobil needs another 250 for 'the phones.' This is a standard thing they do now. Please stay away from this company.

I've always avoided T-Mobile because they were rumored to have horrible service and now I got to find out for myself. Now that I owe on two phones and I have their Wi-Fi I get to find out that in fact they do have absolutely terrible service. Not just terrible customer service, though that is also true, but terrible cell service. My phone has not worked right since the day I started dealing with these people and all theTech Support calls in all the world will never get my problems resolved. It is clearly their problem but they are determined to blame it on my brand new Apple iPhone 14 which makes Apple laugh very hard because it's obvious that T-Mobile is the cause of all of this. Constant dropped calls. Can't make a phone call without dialing two or three times to get a connection. Call Customer Service and wait 16 hours for them to get back to you. When you call them and they act all worried and they act like they are trying really hard to fix everything what really happens is that you get an email a week later telling you it's really all your phone's fault and there's nothing they can do for you. They are absolutely the worst cell service provider in the universe and I'm seriously considering buying out my 2 phone contracts just to get away from them. Unfortunately, because I live way out in the country, I'm still stuck with their crappy Wi-Fi -- which by the way does not work with any Microsoft products at all. This is because it is actually just a 5G hotspot, not real Wi-Fi, which means that it is constantly changing IP addresses. Not just when you connect or disconnect but every few minutes. Which Microsoft cannot handle at all. I consider that to be Microsoft's problem, because as far as I can tell they are the only providers of such services who can't handle it, but be warned because if you own a Microsoft video game system or your employer is using Microsoft Teams, you're screwed.

I switches from Verizon recently for the lower monthly payments. However the signal strength inside my house is terrible. Often only 1 bar and many times the calls drop. Not helpful. Especially when I'm making business calls. Sometimes I try to send a text and a message appears that there is no service. Here is my complaint. I called tmobile and explained as I did here. They offered to send me a signal booster which they call Cellspot. But they wanted a $25 deposit they would hold until it's returned. I complained and they offered to charge the deposit upfront but give me a $25 credit on my next bill. Ok fine. But if I hadn't complained they would have kept my $25 on hold. I could have the service for 10 years, who knows. Ok, so they agreed to credit it back. THEN, they tell me I have to agree that if I fail to return it or it's returned damaged, I will be charged $135 DOLLARS! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The Cellspot is sold on Amazon for $34.99. That's the retail cost. TMobile probably pays much less but they want a $25 deposit and will charge you $135 if you damage it. That's insane. So they aren't offering me anything. They're deposit if $25 is probably more than they're cost and there is no explanation why there would be a fee of $135 for a damaged device that retails for $34.99.

The absolute worst phone company out there. I suffered for a year and a half with substandard service at the same time I lost my dad and my son. I was paying for premium service. Insurance, Internet, full coverage and so on... I called to cancel and explained I hadn't called earlier because I was grieving even though I had dropped calls, poor reception, internet issues, and so on assuming it was a crappy phone and I was stuck with it for 2 years. This is the kicker... come to find out, I had the wrong sim card in my phone. They put the wrong sim card in my phone. When I asked what they were going to do to compensate me for 18 months of horrendous service, even knowing why I didn't call and that it was their fault, I was told NOTHING because he couldn't see anything in his notes about my issues. Knowing it was their fault, he couldn't see anything in the notes about my problems. Hideous unfeeling company. Stay away from them. They do not care about their customers. Much better companies out there.

T-Mobile, what are you doing to actually providing services? I believe most cell/ISP services use these things called towers, you may want to check into that. I'm going to start a company based on my T-Mobile service: lying to anyone that will listen to me, and convince people to give me money every month for phone, internet, and unicorns, then all I have to do is sit around all day and send them messages saying mobile network not available, messages not sent, and currently can not download. That sounds great, except sending all those messages. I will be working harder for my customers than T-Mobile does. I looked up customer service to send a message online because I cannot call due to the fact that I have a T-Mobile phone and of course no service,( BTW I'm obviously on my Wi-Fi) they had several ways to make payments, 1 way to live chat, but no email, anyway, I thought it was funny that there was a part that said not to send payments by mail, and I thought to myself that should be the least of their worries, I for one will not be making a payment to them ever again...

T mobile you have the worst f-ing service.
People I am a cross country truck driver.
T mobile service sucks.
I call constantly asking why I don't have service. Even in major cities like Los Angeles.
Right now I'm just out side of Phoenix Az. And I have no data and no internet.
I pay 100 +plus a month for unlimited and trust me people it's not unlimited.
I have a note 20 and 2 brand new 5g tablets and a galaxy watch 4.
I'm leaving here and going to Verizon.
I will be happy to pay more cause I know I will have better service than here.
Just to let all of you know.
Spectrum cable corporation uses Verizon.
I have heard speculation that Spectrum and Verizon are going to merge or Verizon is going to be bought from Spectrum if this happens no carrier will be able to compete with Spectrum / Verizon.
Spectrum owns all cable markets from the East coast to the West coast. You can look that up.
Do not purchase and contract with T mobile you will have the worst service.
Ps have them prove to you that they have 5g.
I talked with 1 of the representatives and he stated between him and me they do not have 5g service and they were not even ready for that service.
Do not believe those commercials that claim they have 5g cause they do not.
You can have your devices tested for the speed of 5g and you will be surprised that your on a excelerarated 4g/LTE PLATFORM.
