“They are very good at apologizing!”

Kristy S.
2/27/15

I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.

“No. Just no.”

Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.

On June 3rd I went to the T mobile store in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Talked with sakes rep Freedy about switching service. I was promised 2 new phones an a new apple watch for free under my business. I upgraded an was told I only had to pay the difference for the new phones. I paid the required 1235.00 an my internet was only gonna be 30.00 a month an no plan contract. I asked what my monthly bill would be, an was told by Freddy 131.00 per month. I just received my 4th bill an again it was 280.90. I contacted customer service an was told that in order into get my phones unlocked to switch to AT&T I had to finished paying off the remaining balance of 725.00 per phone an additional 1450.00. I spent 1 hour of my life going over my bills I had showing my devices was paid off an no additional money was required an was told they will not unlock my phones til I paid another 1450.00 an that my contract showed I was locked n with them til Dec 2025. I told her that I did not have a contract with T mobile an was not going to pay anything else. The customer service rep manager, Princess, then told me that the store sales rep lied to me to make the sale an commission off the sale an there was nothing I can do at this point but pay the 1450.00. I would never ever recommend T mobile as a cellular provider to anyone an hope this deters you from using T mobile as a cellular provider. The store sales reps are lying deceitful an crooked to earn commission on sales an their customer service refuses to fix the issues they are just out for your money

I decided to switch from AT&T to T-Mobile thinking I would get a lower bill and better service. Jokes on me. I purchased 2 phones from a local T-Mobile store with the magenta max plan also the WiFi service. I was given a handful of lies about the plan and sent out the door with 1 of the phones being the wrong phone I requested to purchase. I wanted 2 iPhone pros with 256GB and I only got 1, the other phone was 128GB. I've contacted customer service several times about this issue and have also confronted the store manager who in a nutshell called me a liar and said he couldn't do anything about it.
It also turns out I never signed a contract. The sales associate forged my signature on the documents. I filed a complaint with the fraud department and have yet to hear from them. At this point I just want to cancel the entire service and go back to AT&T. Customer service says they can cancel my service but I would be responsible for the full price of the phones. I told them they could have the phones back and they said I couldn't return them because it's past the 14 day return period. That's not my fault I've been waiting days for the their fraud department to contact me with the forgery issue. I've been dealing with this for over a month and I'm done. I can't talk to anyone past a customer service representative and I'm getting know where. I just wanted T-Mobile to do the right thing and exchange the phone to the correct one.
I DO NOT recommend T-Mobile to anyone.

So, decided to make the move and drop Optimum internet and take advantage of T Mobile internet for $50 a month,AUTOPAY ONLY TO MY CREDIT CARD,Contract stated NEVER A PRICE INCREASE. Well, not even a Year Later(9 months exactly) i get an Email stating they will no longer accept credit card payments, ONLY Debit or Your Bank account! If You still use Your gredit card You don't recieve the discount anymore and the price goes up $5 more to $55 per month or $60 bucks for the Year! This is called BREAKING THE CONTRACT BY THEM! NEVER an increase is what THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT I HAVE STATES. BAD BUSINESS HERE! And its not just me guys! They should have "Grandfathered" us with the contracts already and left us alone and implemented their changes to NEW CUSTOMERS,NOT CUSTOMERS UNDER CONTRACT ALREADY! BAD business move and JST NOT RIGHT. Be careful of Them!

Verified purchase

I contracted the Hotspot 5G home internet service in early May 2022 because my house was under construction and we couldn't have cable brought to it.
What I was told: (1) you have 100Gb with 5G per month. When you reach the 100Gb, you revert to 4G unlimited; (2) if you discontinue your service, you can simply return the MiFi hotspot device and you are not responsible for the balance on it (they are approximately $300).

What really happened: (1) once you go over the 100Gb on 5G you have zero, nada,…no wifi service whatsoever. For a household with three kids and two adults, that happened within one week; (2) when I tried to return the MiFi device after I discontinued my service, they made it so difficult that I made it over the 'buyers remorse' grace period and now I am on the hook to pay the balance on a useless device that I can't use.

So I call customer service to see if I can get a courtesy extension so that they take the device. They are completely inflexible, bordering rude, and refuse to help me. The words of the supervisor were something like: "what is apparently not clear to you is that we are NOT marking an exception for you in this case.". Wow, what happened to the customer is always right?

Very disappointing behavior and customer care. I'll have to pay the $300-plus left on the device, but you've lost a customer forever and I'll be badmouthing T-mobile to my friends and colleagues for the rest of my time.

Got home internet over a year ago, have been lied to ever since on my monthly calls for customer service/outages, being told one lie or another about why my service is so spotty and why my modem needs resetting so often. Ive tried to get a new modem, they replaced the OLD one, with the OLD model, mailing the original back was a MASSIVE runaround hassle, the tmobile LOCATION wouldnt even TALK to me about home internet. "we dont do any of that" "we cant control any of that" weird, you just sold my buddy the new modem from the same EXACT location? WEIRD. Its not worth saving a few bucks when you are CONSISTENTLY resetting, having connection and latency issues, and the customer service isnt even based in this country so none of them care about their job or how happy the customer is, they just tell you itll all be fixed soon. WHEN IS SOON GOING TO COME. Dogsh! T service and dogsh! T connection.

Tip for consumers:
DONT BOTHER CHANGING OVER unless its a SIGNIFICANT change of services.

Was with Tmobile for 11 years had 5 lines with them bill was just over 330& a month. The costumer service sucks! 11 years ago they give me a small tablet lasted about a year I then called to turn it off so I wasn't paying that 12$ every month for it turned out 4 years later I was still being charged for it call it again 2 years later they refund it me the money this time. We went to upgrade our phones just last week and I was told I can only be financed for 1 phone and the other 4 I would have to pay outright for them. I have never been late on paying my bill!
The gentleman that was helping us was very new and wasn't sure how to help us I called Tmobile while I was there, they said I'm sorry that's just how it works and there is nothing we can do. I left very frustrated and went to AT&T across the street just to see what they can do. Needless to say my bill went down 62$ a month with all new phones. I need it a transfer pin from Tmobile so I called them to get it the girl asked why I need that I answered I'm switching companies she then said can you hold on my manager wants to talk to you she offered to lower my bill to match AT&T and she now can raise my total finance over the phone
(WHAT A JOKE) I WILL NEVER USE TMOBILE AGAIN

So I see online where I can try your service for 30 days to see if I like tmoblie over my carrier now. So I go to the store where they verify that I'm on a 30 day free trial period. They give me two phones and throw in this tracking device for free so I thought. Not only am I not on a 30 day free trial they are charging me for 3 tracking devices when I only received one at the store. None of it makes sense and so much for a free trial. This is a joke tmoblie scammed me. Two after being given the phones to try out I receive a bill for 140.00 I call support where they tell me they can't help me that I have to go back to the store where I was told I get all this crap for free. I spoke to 32 different reps to finally get that answer which of course isn't what I want to hear because I have to take more time out of my life for something that should be easy to credit and move forward with my day. I would be very careful about things they throw at you and say FREE because their not and trial periods aren't really trial periods either. I would never give recommend this company to anyone ever after this mess and as for my other carrier well at least I know I'm getting screwed every month and I know their not trying gnto hide it. Thanks but no thanks for this service. Sorry tmoblie you lost my service and money over a promotion that's not only not free but charges you a full month before you even own the phones a month. What a mess and a joke.

Ever since T-Mobile merged with Sprint, NOTHING works right.
- A few days ago I opened a new line to get a phone for my daughter and today they messaged me the phone number, with an area code in a DIFFERENT STATE
- When I immediately called customer service, the message said it will take "over 2 hours" for a response, so I opted for them to call me back. 4 ½ hours later, after midnight, it called back, then put me on hold with terrible, screeching "music" for another 10 minutes, then a customer service rep named "Lady" hung up on me almost immediately and didn't call back
- Now I've been on their "live chat" for an hour with no "live" response
- Everything asks for my 6-digit PIN, which I was never issued
- The app keeps changing to Spanish, even though I've only ever done business with them in English
- Even the support hotline for the managers at the physical stores takes over an hour to respond, and always with a technician who can't understand English, so the store employees have to repeat even numbers over and over again
- A few months ago they sold me a smart watch that can't do what they said it could, and they messed up how they set up the account, too. So I spent over 12 hours at the store or on the phone to finally get the watch returned & removed, and still never refunded over $80 I initially paid for the setup
- And many, many more examples

Tip for consumers:
Go with a different carrier, even if they list higher prices, because the new T-Mobile adds many, many hidden fees and "mistakes" to your bill anyway.
