“They are very good at apologizing!”

Kristy S.
2/27/15

I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.

“No. Just no.”

Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.

I live in Charlotte. Connected to the T-Mobile in Elpaso. The connection was very bad. T-mobiles tried to strengthen the connection, but after several weeks we realized that my eria had poor coverage. Although the T-Mobile promised me that all of Charlotte was under good coverage. In the end, I decided to switch to another provider. But I had a phone from a T-mobile and I couldn't return it... And the T-mobile took from my account the money with one big check all cost without my agreement. (it doesn't matter if you are hungry or not). And after all, I unlocked the phone by calling them. But I did not use the phone for several months and then when I turned it on, it was blocked. And when I called the T-Mobile they said that maybe the phone was unlocked temporarily... Interestingly - the money was immediately withdrawn from my account and the phone was temporarily unlocked? When I called the T-Mobile company, they did not find my account and any information about the phone and me. I spent an hour figuring out what was going on. But they told me that in a couple of days they will call back as they cannot help now. And besides, they did not call back. In the end, I paid $ 800 for the air.

Tmobile is not honest anymore, hides fees, and makes offers that are not offers anymore. I had a 55plusplan for 70 dollars a month. Now, I pay 155 a month. 1.do not trust their rep. Word anymore. I was told I was going to save 600 on a new s22 plus and I am paying full price of unit of almost $1000. 5g service in home is not better than LTE neither on phone or home internet. Internet drops are constant and service repr. Do not help you anymore to solve the issues. Tmobile requires to many things in contract phone line additions that cancel out any possible discount on an offer and you pay more and full price for units. That is sad. Tmobile added voice service to my 3 lines and I do not know how to use that voice service and I was not told it is extra pay for it. Do not trust tmobile because representatives are going to make you responsible for the little writing in their contracts (hidden information and you are not aware of). Please let all people know so they know who 2 faces tmobile is now.

Tip for consumers:
Do not trust tmobile anymore. Tmobile is two faces now hide fees, include charges of services you do not order, and requirements to lock you up in high monthly fees and no options but their own.

Me: ASK ME HOW TMOBILE ( in Grandville Michigan) stole my iphone!
I'll tell you: they make you think you can take a phone as a trade-in, then they pressure you and lie to you about getting into a 2 year contract with android phone deal(my dumbass believed they were HELPING me with good deal), then they said "you have 2 weeks to return phone and cancel contract if you dont like your new phone"
Well I changed my mind in 7 days, I go back and they would not return my iphone back, I didnt know what to do. Still to this day I will ask ppl to go to Verizon! Even boost!
DON'T MAKE BUSINESS W/TMOBILE. They are trained to lie to humble ppl and not so knowledgeable ppl about plans and deals! I am a single parent and they lied to me kept my iPhone and took the new phone back. Left me without a phone period. I struggled to get passed it. I struggled to buy a new phone

HORRIBLE CRIMINALS! They LIE about EVERYTHING just get a dollar. Their rep STRAIGHT UP LIED to my face and said my phone would be unlocked (so I may use w/another carrier), as long as I paid off the ACCOUNT BALANCE. She said she would have her manager expedite the request and have my phone unlocked in 2 hours and that she would call me back personally to see that is was unlocked. She did call back, but the phone NEVER unlocked. When I spoke to 2 different reps, they told me there's an EQUIPMENT balance (which the previous rep I spoke with NEVER mentioned) of nearly $400 that has to be paid before they will unlock the device. T-mobile was already charging me $147/month for a SINGLE (ONE PERSON) phone line, so that tells you enough right there. I just decided to switch data to the FREE NEW CELL PHONE furnished by AT&T (which offered me BETTER cell phone plan for $80 LESS and month than criminal T-Mobile. GOOD RIDDANCE, I WILL NEVER EVER USE T-MOBILE SERVICES EVER AGAIN AND WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE I KNOW DOES NOT OR DROPS THEM ASAP.

They overdrafted my account while i was having financial trouble, after i paid my bill in advance. They took another payment out and overdrafted. When i called them up to resolve this, Dominic from the Maine department was very condescending and unhelpful. He did get a refund of the of the overdraft, but for three days from now after the damage was done, and wouldnt do anything to stop me from being considered delinquent in my fees and have my service suspended. Even though i paid what i was supposed to, the refund put me as a delinquent account and i was told i would have to go into my account and set up a new setup to keep from being deactivated, even though they are the ones who caused this. Add on top of this how insulting he was, talking to me like i was a child, and mocking my situation at the end of everything with overly sacarine "concern" and wishing me luck after they left me broke, unable to get a bus pass to get to work, refused to fix the issue... this was a horrible experience that has screwed me over and then to be mocked and treated poorly for something they did wrong? I am no longer going to use Tmobile in the future. As soon as i am able to i am going to be switching services just because of this customer service experience. Dominic was unhelpful and insulting, and he lost Tmobile a customer of many years.

Tip for consumers:
Go to a different service provider. Tmobile customer service is horrible and insulting

I love the way customer service upgrades the acct benefit for the month if customer has a complaint. They are really trying to make customers happy which is excellent service. However, I returned a phone back to tmobile irmo location and mngr issued me refund paper and said corporate off will mail me check. That was 3 months ago. I'm going round in circles with customer service and the store Mngr for 3 months to get my $180 refund. T-Mobile needs to have a better way to get refunds issued to customers 4 valid returns. 3 months is way too long. When store Mngr said T-Mobile would send me email to resolve the refund issue, T-Mobile just sent me email to go back to the store manager. I went to the store Mngr 4-5 times regarding my refund. I hope to get my refund soon! I spend lots of money, time and gas money to keep going back to the store Mngr regarding my refund. I call customer service and they always refer me back to the store Mngr. One time, the store worker told me there's nothing they can do to help me since the corporate office is the one that issues refund checks. I got the impression that the store isn't allowed to issue me a cash refund because their store doesn't hold that much money?

I started with Nextel, then carried over to Sprint and now T-Mobile. Since it became T-Mobile, it is an absolute nightmare.they deceived me and put me on a lease plan even though I told them I wanted to buy a phone outright, and we didn't notice it until I paid for the phone about three times, and they were completely unhelpful, sent me a copy of the lease agreement, which was not signed, and I had never seen in my life, then day refused to refund one penny of the overpay. The only thing they would do was change in their records that the phone is mine not a lease. This is a iPhone 8 with a turn in value of $17. Then my husband passed away and I needed to cancel the account. I didn't have access to the account number, as it was all in his name, and I had terrible trouble, so I called them and ask them to tell me the account number and the transfer pin, and they flat out refused to help me, told me that it couldn't be done by anybody on the phone I would need to wait 7 to 10 business days for a callback number. That's how they treat someone who was recently widowed. And by the way, my husband worked for them since they were Nextel, and there was never ever any trouble like this till T-Mobile took over, I never saw such malarkey in my life. I wouldn't do business with them if they were giving away phones and service for free.

Tip for consumers:
Don’t do business with them, you will regret it

My wife and I journeyed out in our Rv and decided we needed a Wi-Fi hotspot so we popped into the T-Mobile in Roswell(excellent service). We got our device and paid our first month of no contract service. It worked pretty good in Roswell area but not really anywhere else. We kept the service going tho in case we needed it. $50/month autopay.
We moved to a new place in February and decided we didn't need this service anymore and since we weren't under contract we canceled 2/1/2023. Here it is 6/5/2023 and I get a bill in the mail for $50. Paper bill? So I checked…. I been paying these people all this money since canceling in 2/1/2023. Then they tried to argue it was never closed and they were winning until I found the chat transcript and showed it to them. Then and only then could I speak to someone who could actually approve a refund and then he tried to short me. I had to go explain how he was mistaken and I was deserved and demanded every cent paid since 2/1/2023. Their reasoning, "We stopped the service, but you never asked us to stop the autopay." "Sir, if we refund everything then you will be in default and reported to credit agencies." An hour and twenty minutes later and I am guaranteed a refund in the next few days.Yet to be seen.

Tip for consumers:
Beware autopay. If you stop a service make sure you stop the autopay. They will not in my experience.

I have had T-Mobile for a very short time now and I am already ready to switch companies. I brought over 3 lines from my previous company. We spent way too long in the store to begin with, but the guy was nice and really trying to get everything all set up. Well, I found out that my 9 year olds line is set up as Primary. I couldn't do anything. Reached out, was told it was fixed. Come to find out, it wasn't. Reached out again, did all sorts of stuff. Was told it was fixed... It wasn't. Reached out again and was on the phone for a total of 2 hours. They wouldn't communicate hardly outside of the script they were reading. They disconnected the call TWICE. It was beyond horrible Customer Service. My account is still not fixed. My service is still super sh!tty and spends forever loading until I get an error message. I am so disappointed with T-Mobile. I would rather go back to paying more for my bill each month and have excellent customer service and excellent coverage. I guess this is what I get for trying something new and trying to save a few bucks. Definitely NOT worth waisting your time with them. I wouldn't have even rated it a one star but it makes you out something in there.

It honestly doesn't matter what I write here anyways. T-Mobile doesn't care nor checks on its reviews & they know they are beyond awful when it comes to customer service. I gave this review 2 stars to show it's not a troll review. 2 is as low as I go, & within regards to T-Mobile, 0.25/5 is my actual rating. It's almost as if they take pride in delivering the worst customer service in the industry, because they know the choices in the industry are limited, and people are going to have to make one to get service. I spent my entire day driving 45 miles round trip to try to cancel out my 15 year account with them, because I thought that they wrapped this up six months prior. By doing this, it cost me substantially in time & money. But the shop and staff over the phone at customer service only sent me on a wild goose chase that took out a quarter tank of gas on a $400 bill that I didn't know I had to pay. The more I go into this, the more I realize why leaving this merged Kraken of a nightmarish monster of a company was a great idea. They don't care about their veteran customers. They only care about money & new customers that they can buy into their scheme & it shows. I feel super violated having to go to the extent that I have to handle in what should be a typical simple business call & transaction. This wasn't just from 1 experience, but multiple, multiple experiences. I'm tired of feeling forgotten with T-Mobile, after having been with them for 15 years. And it's part of why I've left.

Business-wise, my best tip is to stay the hell away from T-Mobile, and seek other carrier options out.

T-Mobile store and phone CUSTOMER SERVICE reps are HELD HOSTAGE by their management. It seems they are forced to ONLY SELL CURRENT PROMOTIONS.

As a Sprint customer, changed to T-Mobile in ST LOUIS, MISSOURI…. All store personnel ignore Sprint arrangements made for me and insist that ONLY CURRENT T-MOBILE PROMOTIONS apply.

Phone reps the same. I CAN HEAR THEIR EMOTIONAL TRAUMA when asking for a bill adjustment. They reply with YOUR CURRENT PROMOTION ON YOUR BILL SAYS.

Even the phone supervisor seemed to be almost crying. I asked if there was a T-Mobile department that handled bill adjustments and HE WOULD NOT SAY YES OR NO. He started to state the CURRENT PROMOTION ON YOUR BILL IS….

T-MOBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT HAVE:
Respect for Sprint customer arrangements
Feedback. Online options…. You must write a letter
Feedback phone service
Feedback email service
Billing Department to handle billing questions.
Options to give good or bad details on visits in stores nor online

I AM LEAVING T-MOBILE!

Sprint should have bought T-Mobile…. Sprint is willing to listen and make adjustments when necessary.

T-Mobile is a crap company. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. This has happened multiple times to many of my friends and now myself included. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR T-MOBILE. Pay the extra dollar to get a company who doesn't screw you over. We recently went into a branch to get an upgrade. The sales associate there was so nice told us he would hook us up and that for our phone (the one we had at the time) he would give us a $1000 credit. We were shocked, because normally they give you max $300 and a different store said it would be like $250 credit. So he started filing documents trying to move as fast as he can. When asked to explain and confirm he said "don't worry about it I got you." Same day we got home and checked out online account, turns out he lied. He only credited $230 and signed us up for a completely different plan. Next day we came into the branch, he refused to help as soon as we asked for digital signatures that were made on our behalf. A person who claimed they were a manager stated they can't help us and no one else we can talk to. When we called later asking for their manager info they refused to provide any information and stated that they don't like my tone (promise I was being polite, I personally worked in customer facing jobs and know what it's like having a difficult client) she ended up saying that she won't share her name, she won't share her manager info or her distract manager info and hung up the phone. The worst customer service I have ever received in my life. That branch needs to be shut down. There were so many clients in the branch with complaints when we were in there originally.

I have 5 lines through Tmobile and I'm very happy with my service and customer service. There was a issue with my billing. (Well a mixup) I spoke to ‼Latasha‼ And she did awesome! And stayed on the line until she had it fixed. And took care of the mixup. Very happy with my experience‼ I see people saying the last couple months Their phone service hasn't been good like it was. I personally have figured out that the 5G towers are just not up on full force running Status yet in a lot of areas. If you go to your settings. Go to connections click on Mobile Networks and change it to LTE/3G/2G it will fix that issue. It's not Tmobile fault, but the 5G towers just doesn't have the availability yet. So better off to turn it off. Because you're phone will keep trying to connect to it. Being it's a higher connection tower. But the issues with it not having enough towers yet Keeps it from not being able to work the way it should Just like it did when we was going from 3G to 4G LTE same thing happened. So I did the same thing then And had no issues But everyone around running it Did. And 5G found that the towers Was interfering with air traffic. So there's been a slow down on getting the towers up and running as planned. Again not the phone providers fault. And this goes for any phone service 5G sucks right now. So until the announcement is made they have it complete. ‼‼TURN 5G OFF‼‼
