T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
I had a T-Mobile phone rep promise a $700 credit on IPhone13 to add a line plus $15 additional line charge for service. Told her about my experience when I migrated from Sprint, with a Rep in the Mt Kisco NY store. He Lied to me about the trade in value for my sprint phone. The phone Rep was like "well that's not going to happen when you call into over the phone sales, we are on a "recorded line". Turns out……All lies, no discounts applied, I financed the 2nd phone in full. There were no monthly credits on the bill to reduce the cost of the new phone. BTW $70/mo. For service on 2nd line not $15, Rep assuring me we were on a recorded line disarmed me. When I got a look at my bill no discounts! I Called 4/15 to find out the Best part! T-Mobile doesn't have access to the recordings! They promised me a call today 4/18 which they did. The rep said they can't do anything about it, then I asked transferred to his supervisor Abner (Employee ID: *******506) I am waiting for a call from Abner's manager as of 1:30pm.
I was promised a call back within 2 hours. No call yet. I guess the store employees know they can say what they want, the phone reps can say what they want on recorded lines knowing full well the recordings are saved on 8-track tape and stored in the Ark of the Covenant.@mike. Sievert

Tried to turn in my daughter's and son's iphones for the $200 and $110 trade in for new phones.
1. store wouldn't take them when picked up new phones. Wasted trip
2. Got an email 4 weeks later saying i had only 3 more days to turn in the old phones. Waste of time
3. Emailed me a shipping label for the USPS. Took it to USPS and they would not accept the phones because the label was for first class that usps doesn't accept cellphones. Wasted trip
4. Called customer service to get ground usps labels. Six hours later they mail me 4(four) more first class shipping labels that the usps won't accept. Waste of my day off.
5. asked to take them to the store. Memo added to my account that i could return them to the store. I took them to the store and they wouldn't accept them because the phones weren't wiped of data. Nothing on the literature said it had to be and my kids needed to be along to provide passwords. Waste of trip and day.
6. brought son to store. Store said couldn't take it without manager around. Come back. Waste of time and day and trip.
7. two more hours on phone with customer service. Emailed me shipping label for UPS. Still can't wipe of data.

I had a problem with it after 3 weeks. The tmobile store They could not do anything for me. I went to the store and they called the 1800 number for me to talk to customer service. Then they decided to replace the brand new phone with a refurbished phone. I had a 50 dollar screen protection. The manager could not give me the screen protection replacement. Called customer service same responce. If you get your phone from Sam's club you will save tons of money. If you go to Costco you will save tons of money. This profection plan between 15 and 20 dollars a month. You get the same plan from Costco for 80 dollars one time payment for the lifetime of the pbone. Equals 500 dollars from tmobile for 2 years. If your phone go bad costco return policy is 1 month. If you go to Walmart you buy all accessories half the price and you get the same equal service tomobile store provide so why pay extra. T-Mobile do not honor customer loyalty. Tmobile is a horrible company i can not wait to go to another company.
I wish I can give them zero star

There is zero cohesion between customer service and store techs. You will hear conflicting info from each person you speak to, and they will never take accountability or help you resolve an issue that they created. You are pretty much screwed. This is the case with pretty much every wireless company because they are greedy and care nothing about the customer. Customer service officially died during Covid, and will not be coming back. T-Mobile has been an absolute NIGHTMARE for the last 2 years. Their customer service agents are clueless and careless. No matter how bad you want an issue resolved, it will take several calls, with different agents, and numerous escalations, just to be left with an unresolved issue. EVEN THOUGH THEY RECORD ALL CALLS, they will still take zero accountability for their screw-ups and will leave you with the wreckage. They will charge you fees you didnt know existed, and will not provide you with a thorough explanation. I am extremely disappointed, disgruntled, and exhausted from dealing with their "support" staff. Please do not go with T-Mobile - go with literally ANYONE else. I am speaking from experience. T-Mobile makes Sprint look like the pinnacle of the wireless mountain.

Month of Sep 2022 I buy service form T mobile and paid $110 Initial Change for 3 line, after receive Card found that monthly bill is not what I was told Initially so I ask to cancel service and was told there wont be any changes and I will get refund of Initial change of Sim card, which I did not get refund back after multiple call as they cannot locate my account properly after giving all of my information's, I even visit T mobile store for same concerns but they cannot help and told I need to call customer support team which seems to outsourced to place where agents cannot understand basic English and grammars and got tired of follow up, after month start receiving bill for $225 so I call to inquiry and again similar quality of agents cannot able to provide details of bill. So I start Ignore bill which very quickly went to collection agency and they did report to my credit report within month which is really quick did not expect to go that fast specially they cannot enplane changes properly but I did end up pay Money just to secure my credit history but try to contact for formal complain to correct department so it can at least addressed. And try to make correction on sales and collection department sync up.
Until that due to limited phone company I will try to avoid T Mobile

If you decide getting T-mobile service
If you decide getting T-mobile service, make sure you dont believe whatever the sales person says. Do not trust them. They are there to sell and the more they sell, the more commision they make. They are not honest, they try to rob you by just keep saying it is free. Make sure to find out about the monthly charges, equipment return period, and what is the consequence of something which was offered to you for free in case you dont like it. I got robbed, and I am stucked with huge monthly bill for two years. I wish I would never walked to the T Mobile store. What a mistake I made.
Customer service is no help at all. Don't get fooled by their custormer service. They dont solve your issue. They just try justify the bill. If you are not happy, customer service will not give you an inch. I am angry as hell. No one helped me and I can not dispute the charges or cancel the service. I wish I could give a zero star. Pathetic customer service, pathetic sales person, and phatetic manager who I spoke to and watested an hour of my time. I am more frustrated now.

A customer to T-mobile since 2016. Lately I placed a voice call to Belgium for 1 minute. I noticed that they charged me $3.00 for that minute. I called customer care and explained saying that my plan charges only $0.25 /min. This customer care resersed that charge. And I explicity asked 3 times, and she assured methat from now on my charge will only be 0.25.min and told her that I would try again right after that.
I placed 2 calls to Belgium and France and talked for a total of 16min. Suddenly I received a text from T-mobile that a charge of $51.00 will appear on my bill as international call. The supervisor of customer care Josh, did not buy that I was been given the wrong information and refuse to change.
Thank God for that, I search for another company and found ConsumerCellular which offered me the same service for half the price ($40.00 for 2 lines) and on top of it they charge $0.04 - $0.06 /min for call to Europe.
I would also report that when you call for customer service, the wait I experienced was 8 minutes and the following was 24 minutes. That says a lot about that company! German company!
T-Mobile overcharges their customers, sneaks in from time to time some "exotic" fees, that you will not notice.

We have been Sprint customers since 1990. I was a Sprint executive and we enjoyed good service for a long time. Along comes this merger with T-Mobile and what a circus. Do not work with tele reps. Insist asking for high level techs. The people that answer the support lines will just drive you in circles and accomplish nothing. I have been on the phone for probably 20 hours over the last 3 days, We can only use wifi calling, never had that issue before for 12 years here. So when there was a 6 hour internet outage in town we could not make or get calls or texts or could place a 911 call if we had to. For 4 months they keep telling us the tower is being worked on. In fact, their 5G coverage is terrible. They wanted to make it up, so they said they would give us 4 Samsung watches, 2 hot spots and 2 tablets free with no monthly plan expense. Well the hotspots were ok, but the watches would be $15 each per month. I did a text chat and have it recorded that there is "no worry" and the credits promised will come in 2 billing cycles. I asked if not, then I can return this stuff with no problem because that would be way beyond the 14 day return policy. I have "Yes, no problem" recorded from the chat. So 4 hours today they played with the phones here doing the same thing that has been done a dozen time to no avail. "Alvin from tech support will call you this afternoon" I was told. Well Alvin called, said he was going to take care of it and the call dropped in the middle of his sentence. NO call back. They sent a CellSpot to allow us to "get a better signal in the house" and it is a joke because all it does is use wifi calling! I am going to spend another few days and then we are going to take the phones and all this stuff to the TMobile store and return it and switch to Verizon.

Worst Customer Service ever!

We have been customers with another cellular service for nearly 20 years. There are 4 phone users in my family. We made the bold move to "bring your phone" to T-Mobile and paid off 2 of our remaining contracts and were promised we would receive up to $800 for the move to T-Mobile. Before crossing over to the new network we sent in our screenshots to T-Mobile and filled out the paperwork. We were advised we would need to wait 6-8 weeks for the credit from T-Mobile. After waiting for 3 months we called customer service and were told our paperwork was never filed and that we were past the one month deadline to re file our paperwork to receive our promotional amount. When we were transferred to the promotional dept they said the same and that customer service would "escalate" this case and contact us. No contact. We called customer service in another week or two and were now told that the 2 month deadline had elapsed 5 days before our follow up call and that nothing could be done since we missed the deadline. All this to say that we filed everything the day T-Mobile got 4 new customers to sign up with them. They did not send us any of what we were promised, denied receiving our paperwork, told us we only had one month to file the paperwork, then told us they had extended that deadline to 3 months, and then told us that we did not meet any of their deadlines even with repeated calls to their reward dept and their customer service department. I spent over a 6 hours speaking with representatives at T-Mobile feeling like I had when I was with AT&T. I had hoped we were not dealing with another corporate company who just shuffled us around, but I soon learned T-Mobile was treating us the same way: with little regard for us as long term customers paying monthly. We did nothing wrong on our end. Is this the way a phone service treats its newest LONG term customers? I will tell everyone our story when they say that T-Mobile is making promises to get new customers! This might help you consider too what phone company you would like to pay monthly for multiple years.

Internet is sporadic at best.

Have been with T-Mobile for only about 1.5 months - have spent literally HOURS on the phone or in the local store trying to resolve problems - I have been without Voice Mail for over half of the time - it seems no one knows how to resolve a problem. Initially my voice mails were being converted to text messages (with no audio recording in my iphone voicemail phone app) - when I complained, they finally eliminated the "voice to text", but then I had NO voicemails at all (callers would get NOTHING when they called - no answer, just a dropped call - no recording, custom or default - no opportunity to record a message). Over the weekend a "T Mobile Expert" supposedly fixed the issue, but by Tuesday - same issue - though the caller can record a voice mail, it does not end up in the phone app on the iphone - have to go through a convoluted process to obtain the voice mail, but how do you know you even have one when there is no alert?. This is so crazy - voice mail is a fundamental part of cell phone service - why can't this be fixed? Have spent over 3 hours on the phone - (3 dropped calls - the "Expert" called me back twice, but I guess he can't figure it out cause NO CALL BACK)... NEVER had an issue like this with Verizon - why did I leave? (Oh yeah, the regularly increasing costs and hidden fees - suppose you get what you pay for though - fixed cost at TMobile, but no one can solve issues!) STILL NO RESOLUTION.
Date of experience: June 28, 2022
I never write reviews, but I felt if even one person reads this and makes a decision then maybe it'd be worth it. The first day I walked in to buy a new phone with them, they had an issue that took 4 hours to resolve. That was a red flag, and I should have just stopped it there. In the months following, attempts to add money to my prepaid account resulted in denying my card, only to take my money anyway (without it going towards my service plan). Their website is barely functional, and only works during the day. Their customer support in the worst I've ever had. I go to a store in person only for them to say "call this number". They don't want to help you at all. My money? Well I only got some of it back, and it took a week of pestering people. Still lost $40. Unlike other providers, when I was porting my phone number, they cut my service immediately and didn't give the phone number to the new provider right away. It took an entire day. That meant an entire day without a phone number or service. They also had an error where every time I sent a text, it took 25 cents from my account. There wasn't enough money in my account to renew the service, so they cut me off in a heartbeat. They make it so hard to get started, but it's so easy to terminate your service. No apologies from them either except after I changed service. If you don't use your phone much and want a cheap plan, I suggest Tracfone. If you want about mid-priced plans, Sprint wasn't bad. If you've got money to spend, I hear Verizon has the best coverage. Whatever you do, just stay away from T-Mobile. I have not had a single good experience with them.
