T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
The monthly charge can be lower than other companies, but the business form of the t-mobile is close to a scam. Don't play t-mobile.
For example, a few years ago, T-mobile local store told us
The Amazon Alex device is FREE many times. Initially, I said we did not want it. Then they charged more than $300 for that device.

I went to Sprint before they were bought out because of the great deal they had for active duty service members for service in Japan. When T-Mobile took over they assured us over and over again that nothing would change, but surprise surprise, they lied. Thank god we're only stationed in Japan for another month so we'll be able to go back to Verizon.
Even when we do go back to the states to see family, the service has been so spotty it's infuriating. I can't understand why people put up with this company…

I have been a Verizon customer for over 10 years, an amazing team member named TC helped me at Tmobile and I switched to there company because of her! She was great and helped me with everything I needed and more. I highly recommended this lady gets praise! If you want great service to this store on wolf road and ask for TC you won't regret it. High five to her for great customer service!
Thanks again - Debbie

My service is so $#*!ty and unreliable. I made a payment on the 06/16/2023. Which went through, only to wake up today 06/20/2023 to notice that I was charged again in the same month. Would not recommend. Am about to switch to another provider because this is straight up stealing.

T-Mobile refused to change my payment date to the end of the month when my Pension Check is deposited in my bank.
Could not call 911 as T-Mobile blocked me from calling due to awaiting payment.
There is absolutely no reason for this.
The closest equivalent of this was at Nuremberg, "I was only following orders".
AM switching phone companies ASAP

Customer service tells you to go into store to handle issues, then the store just calls customer service. Nothing ever gets settled. I closed an account within the same hour of activating, never got the new SIM cards or anything, and yet 4 months later, they say I owe them >$500, even though they have already fraudulently pulled more than I originally "owed" from a card I never gave to them. I never set up a PIN, so they won't even try to deal with me. I'm at the point where I want to punch a TMobile employee. Never work for or with this garbage company. Verizon costs the same for a WAY better service.
Tip for consumers:
Never use this company

I switched to TMobile 2 years ago with a new phone and 2 year contract. Their coverage map show 5g coverage over entire Hampton Roads area. The reality is TMobile only coverage is 1 to 2 bars in most of Hampton Roads, a major metro area. I have contacted TMobile multiple times and they tell me they are having some issues with towers and it should be resolved shortly. They have been saying this for 2 years now. If you want to try TMobile, my advice is do not let them give you a phone and lock you into a 2 year contract. TMobile is useless if you plan to travel because the coverage they show on the map for USA is not accurate. Unless you are within 1/2 mile of their weak towers, you will not get reliable signal.

I was a loyal customer for 15 years and lost my source of income they suspended my phone on numerous occasions I do realize this is a business however could have been treated better than I was treated won't recommend them to family r friends ever

T-Mobile will take every opportunity they can to screw the customer. Their customer service is worthless. They over-bill and will not correct it. They also give inaccurate information which resulted in me being strained in a foreign country. Do NOT use this company!

I like using this mobile network because they offer some every great data plans. I do not have to worry about using a lot to get my data bundle. The signal reception is also good I can make clear calls even to people in other countries.

Stay away! They will try to rob you blind! If I could leave negative stars I would. Signed up for 15 day trial period for internet service only, cancelled and returned equipment prior to the 15 days. Received a bill, spoke with customer service and was told my account was credited and to disregard the bill. Received a new bill 2 weeks later with a reduced amount saying it is now in collections. No attempt was made to research this on customer service end, even though I have all the documentation emails to prove I don't owe this money. Customer service just lies to you! Considering legal action.

After 6-8 years with T-Mobile, I got a email offering to reduce my bill because I am over 55. The representative promised to do this, but he in fact increased my bill by about $15. It took an hour on the phone to fix this. I am leaving them.
Tip for consumers:
I feel that the representative lied to add some kind of service that I did not request. Perhaps they have a quota?

We traded in an iPhone 8 Plus, galaxy s8 and a galaxy note 8. Told us our trade-ins would not be receiving any credit towards our bill or towards carrier freedom. Even though we were quoted at $600 per phone. Ended up only giving us $122 for one of the phones. Mind you all these phones were in prime working condition like new. And when we said we would like our phones back they told us that they didn't belong to us anymore since we traded them in. They stole from us. I would not recommend T-Mobile to anyone.

This is the most garbage service I have ever had. I have been with sprint for 13 years and when they merged with T-mobile, it's been down hill since. I lose service daily here in KS. I work on the base of FT riley and my phone has no reception. I call daily and I always get told the same answer, they are working on towers in my area. Yeah right. My bill is damn near $200 a month and the service isn't worth it. The phone company have 3 jobs, call, text, and internet. None of these services work. What's the point. Run from this company if you have any sense.

Two years ago my ex girlfriend brought me a T-mobile phone. They tricked us with a discount that never happened, anyway too late we brought the phone. My girlfriend passed away, even though I made all monthly payments, my name on the phone, they're cutting it off with only 3 more payments! Oh well, they lose money not me, I'll sell this apple phone, get another and move on. I'll never buy T-mobile, don't do it I'm telling you!

Awful Awful Awful! Unable to answer questions, the customer service disconnected me twice each time after being on hold for over 25 minutes. The only customer service worse is Spectrum and ADT. Not sure the 5G internet price is worth it. Unfortunately with the basic monopoly of internet providers there's not much choice. I'll just pray that AT&T Fiber or Google Fiber make to my neighborhood soon.

I have been a sprint for 17 years and the company had good practices with billing and payment arrangements, but to be told I could not stop a draft from my account was ridiculous, calling customer service is a waste of time and the reps over sea's are rude, o help I have 3 line and adding a 4th but will be changing to another provider

I got a T-Mobile data plan, no contract, cancel anytime. The offer included a free tablet (a cheap Alcatel one) which I didn't need.
The sales rep did NOT explain that the tablet IS on a contract (24 months) and cancelling the service entails paying the remaining "balance" on the "free" tablet.
Although I can return the unused tablet, they will not budge. They also declined to check the recording (from 7 months ago) to confirm that there was no mention of this contract.
Either sneaky by design or they need to train their customer reps better. I sure hope someone will take them to court for this type of misrepresentations.
Tip for consumers:
be aware they don't disclose essential info and afterwards they'll say you should have read the fine print.

When you travel be sure you do not go off the beaten path. The only coverage i get is on express ways and large towns anywhere else such as resorts small towns no coverage not really worth the hassle. Bring back pay phones. I live in louisville,ky. ******* my phone is an moto edge. So far verizon has the best coverage but the are very expensive. You really don't get all you pay for.
Tip for consumers:
hopefully share my experience with others so they can find a alternative solution to their problem.

Sprint customer here. Just found out that in order to get on the t-mobile network and be fully merged, your account can't have any device leases pending. This is absolutely ridiculous and bad service. T-Mobile should honor the lease to purchase and allow customers to keep making the payments on the devices all while being able have your account fully merged. When I asked what I could do to turn in all devices and close the account, I was basically told that was not an option. I would like to take my business elsewhere but now I'm screwed. Not my fault sprint and t mobile merged so why should customers be penalized?

I love T-Mobile I've been there with 20 years. Unfortunately they don't have very special package like the other company they took over for.
I live in a basement there internet is very weak and on top of it if I call their number for help and I talk to somebody in person they charge you money for it they shouldn't charge you any money for talking somebody in person that's how they keep a job.
Things like this makes me want to go somewhere else I know why many people left T-Mobile. Fix these problem.
I'm afraid to get T-Mobile Wi-Fi in my not working in the basement at all
Tip for consumers:
If you want to compete with other people in Internet for the house fix your problem make it stronger and if you want to compete with other cell phone company lower your prices. Or you will be swallowed up

T Mobile will not issue me a credit ($9.41) that was owned after I left their service. Despite having my account number, last 4 of my social security, phone number, full name and address, and their ability to see that they owe me the money. They keep telling me that they can not verify my account because I don't have my 6 digit pin number. Apparently there is no way around this. Completely ridiculous.
