I booked a hotel online with Ctrip, and found that I have to keep updating the booking date since it refresh back to default date (the date you view their page) when you try to look at a new package or hotel. At last, I confirmed the hotel package, updated the date and input personal info and pay. At the end, the email confirmation show I booked the hotel on the defualt date, which I only realised a few days later. The date has past, they charged me no show, and unwilling to refund or help me to change the date.
There was no alert, no hotel call (hotel claimed Ctrip didn't provide customer phone no.), nothing. I paid $3000 HKD for nothing!
Horrible system, horrible service and I will not use Ctrip ever again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
May 12, 2022

Airline switched to another airport in Dubai (DWC instead of DXB) and I received no notice of the switch, even their app said to go to DXB until 2 hours after the flight had taken off! They offered terrible support and made me book another flight off my own money as they needed to 'investigate'. Now trying to do a partial refund despite their policy stating a free flight and full refund of the original. Appalling that skyscanner (a company i thought were decent) support trip.com. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I purchased my Price Freeze Sunday 4pm - by 3600pm it had expired. When is 3600?
The price was due to be held 7 days, ie. I should have been well within the time 21.01.23 at 15:30.
WHAT A SHAME. Truely DO NOT USE THIS PRICE FREEZE. LIARS.

Never again!

Very bad experience with Trip.com. They're using the coronavirus situation to make a profit. The company canceled the flight and I got a refund from Trip.com less than a third of the paid amount. They blame the company, the company says it has nothing to do with it.

Booked a flight on their, they never emailed me and on the site it showed it as cancelled. I booked another flight for the same dates/dest thinking the first one was cancelled. They charged me for both, and claimed the first time I booked it it wasn't cancelled. So now I have two sets of flights for the same dates... wasted hundreds of dollars. Refused to amend the situation.

Don't use them!

I will never use trip.com ever again! I booked a flight with them, then covid happened. They didn't look into the airlines updated covid policy so I had to fight with them to get my flight credit extended. Then when I went to use the flight credit a year and a half later, they wouldn't let me use it and instead the would refund me. They kept my $383 dollars for a year and a half saying I could use the credit but then didn't allow me to use my credit. I will NEVER use them again. Their customer service was so poor and their empathy for me was zero. I'm so disappointed in this company. Don't use them!

Horrible company

I booked a flight with them from Bangkok to Toronto. 24 hours before my flight they cancel it. I call to ask for my options they tell me I only have two options wait 4 days for another flight or wait 10 business days to get a refund. I ask the rep Jessica how she would feel if someone gave me those options and this disrespectful woman told me if she was me she wouldnt be travelling with no money! I have money its not the point who cancels someones flight 24 hours before and gives them a refund in 10 business days with no compensation, im sure Im not the only one who sees thatsnot right! Wth

Do not use this service as they are not trustworthy and liars that do not take responsibility for errors. Book a hotel through a search for a hotel in one location with the search bringing up all the hotels in my location and one placed in the mix that was on the other side of the U.S. I booked that hotel thinking that it was in the appropriate area of my search. After paying and discovering the search was wrong on the part of the third party site, I contacted the hotel which clearly stated Trip.com only had the authority to cancel the reservation only to find that trip.com stated the hotel was the authority. I made 5 calls to trip.com with 4 hang ups and then reached a representative that could barely speak English. Was told they would check with the hotel, a bold face lie so placed a hold on payment with my credit card! Trip.com had refused to take responsibility for the problem! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE AS IT IS UNRELIABLE AND A SCAM! DO NOT

I booked a hotel 1 week prior to staying in Toronto near my sons, however I mistakenly booked the wrong weekend. I tried to change the date about 1/2 after I booked but was informed by trip.com's partner, whoever that is, that they were unable to change the date. I then tried to cancel my booking, the same day, but was again informed that I could not. I then tried to add a guest so one of my sons could stay there, but was told "no". I then tried to change the lead guest to no avail. This company is useless and does not play well with customers.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!

Still waiting on refund

I needed to travel back to the UK from Indonesia that same day. Paid £684 for a single ticket. Jumped into a taxi to the airport to get a email from airline to say the first flight is cancelled until the following day. This would have meant we would have missed all connections. Not Trip.com's fault I know. Was told I can cancel and get a full refund which I did and I had to book another flight for £850 but did this direct with Malaysia airlines as I know that they would look after us if something went wrong with delays or cancellation of any flight. I was promised a refund within 6 days, well nearly 4 weeks later and still no refund and the call centre can not give you any information in regards to the refund which is stupid. I have asked my bank to get the money back now and supplied them with the refund email. I use trip.com all the time with no issues but will never use them again. Can you imagine if I had of used the last of my money on that ticket? I would have been stranded. I will definitely book direct with airlines in future as you have that guarantee that they will look after you.

I booked a plane ticket for my brother. I was notified 2 days before flight time was changed to 2 hours later. No big deal. The day of the flight, it was cancelled. I've taken numerous flights in and out of the same airport never to have a flight changed and then cancelled.
While my brother was trying to find another flight I was on the phone with trip.com asking what they could do. They agreed to move the flight to a different, much later time. They said they would send an application. I then got a text from my bro saying he booked the only ticket he could find. I got back on the phone with trip and asked them to cancel the application. They said they couldn't and refused to give me a refund for the cancelled flight.

My brother ended up paying nearly 10x the price for a plane ticket the same day.

Honestly, I wouldn't even accept a free ticket from this website knowing they might cancel my ticket leaving me stranded somewhere.

NEVERE AGAIN AVOID. We were forced to reserve seats for our Easyjet flight on the trip.com check in process, this was in excess of £37. When we were then given details to check in with Easyjet the seats were not booked and we could then choose to book seats with Easyjet at a cost of £12, or choose not to reserve seats. We contacted Trip to ask for a refund, but were refused. The advisor then processed the seat booking while we were on the phone and the seats were reserved, but we did not want to reserve seat, certainly not at a price more than double to the standard charge. I requested a refund but was refused. I was told by Trip the purchase was non-refundable from Easyjet, but I had not paid Easyjet I paid Trip, I would like a refund, I was refused. I requested top speak to a manager and after 5 minutes on hold I was not able to. Awful service, never again.

I booked a flight to koh samui and admittedly booked the wrong date. IMMEDIATELY canceled the ticket. Ticket.com says I will not receive any refund per airline policy. Went to Bangkok airlines booking office and they asked why wouldn't they give me a refund? I needed to negotiate with trip.com as I booked through them. I called trip.com and was told the employee can't override THEIR system and I will receive zero refund for a 30 second mistake for a flight that doesn't fly for another 3 weeks. DO NOT USE TRIP.COM. Use BOOKING.COM

Changed our return date to a month BEFORE our outward date, and will now do nothing about it. They are absolutely terrible, they take your money and will do nothing to help.
I have to put at least 1 star, but I rate them as 0!

They operate under the Travel Agents Act of Singapore under license number *******, complain to feedback at natas.travel. If there's enough complaints they will have to look at them!

I have made complaints to both NATAS and ATAS.

TRIP.COM = 100% SCAM
Do not under any circumstances book with Trip.com. I have had to book and pay for 2 entirely new tickets because the flights were delayed or cancelled. There is NO REFUND forthcoming despite it being entirely the airline issue. Offer of a voucher only. And a HK$24! Refund only. This has cost me hundreds of US$ in lost flights plus hours and hours on the phone with trip.com and my daughter stuck in an airport on the other side of the world in the middle of the night. I REITERATE DO NOT BOOK THROUGH TRIP.COM!

They change most of your details to generic info and when a flight is delayed/cancelled and try to deal with airline they need the information provided by the agency to match to your answers for securtiy (GDPR) reasons. However, Trip.com does not and will not tell you these details so, you are not able to get your rebooking or refund from the airline and definitely from the Trip.com so, you are ripped off by TRIP.com. I believe they are scammers working as an agent who would try every possible method to rip off people.

Such a scam of a company…

They will steal your money, change dates, times and even cancel your flight without any notice, resolution or refund. They will tell you to contact the airline yourself to deal with it but the airline will tell you to contact the person that booked for you. They'll also copy & paste the same meaningless email to you over and over again to try and deflect from giving you an actual solution.

Their cancelation guarantee is a scam as well. If purchased they will not actually stand by by the guarantee.

I'm a travel agent host from the US & at the beginning of my career I used them and lost thousands. I was an idiot and used them again for personal use recently AND THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN. Airline canceled my flight, I had purchased the Cancelation Guarantee & they refuse to refund me.

Avoid at all cost. Pathetic scam of a company just stealing from customers.

Horrific experience! Don't go through this, find better!
To start with when we booked (from Australia) prices were in USD so it was missleading but I suppose that's theoreticaly on me for assuming prices when I'm in Australia are shown in AUD like every other website I visit here for online purchases but oh well silly me. It's an absolute chaos dealing with their customer service and it's not about the poor lady on the other side having to listen to me, it's the options she has been provided with to deal with me, the customer, in order to solve something which aren't really relevant because she can't do a lot. In short, they really don't care, they are quick to take your money but are unable to solve issues effectively, so bring a lot of time and patience if you should be in the situation that you need them to help you or do their job for that. I've lost a $ 1000 by now and I've got NOTHING to show for it. Nothing. It's so unacceptable, shame on you!

Ripped off
September 4, 2023

After a delayed flight to Florence and all our luggage lost we were desperate to find lodging overnight until we could claim our luggage. We found am expensive room and agreed to a non refundable rate just to stay off the streets. To our dismay, the booking came back not for that night, but for a week later. We tried online chats and calls to trip.com to change the room to that night. They went through the motions of "negotiating" with the hotel, but said the hotel would not agree to a change or refund. We also contacted the hotel, which gave the same excuse that Trip.com was enforcing the contract that would allow no changes out refunds. NO REPUTABLE TRAVEL PROVIDER DOES THIS WHEN ADVISED IMMEDIATELY OF A BOOKING ERROR. Avoid doing business with Trip.com at all cost. Any savings you receive will be gone immediately after they rip you off.

I hate to admit but Trip is a scam at this point. Trip changed the ticket validity without notice and the compromise we made before proceeding my seat cancelation request. Clearly the ticket expires on December 31st, 2023 on airline website. And Trip told me the ticket is only valid until April 30th, 2023 without any explaination.

All of the emails I received from Trip about this problem these two days were the same context. They kept reciting that ticket expires on April 20th 2023 without any explaination. Meanwhile, they are actually expire December 31st 2023. I also clarified this with the airline and Trip decided to ignore them. No one even informed me about this in advance. Before the seat cancelation, we all agreed that the ticket expires on December 31st 2023 and the ticket will be valid by that date.
