I had the most horrible experience with booking on this website. On 11th december, 2019 I booked a room at Generator Dublin. Since I had exam the next day I decided to pick a single dromitory room (at least that's what I thought based on the photo they had on the website and there was no information given other than Room Type: Dormitory). When I got there, I got my key and I went upstairs. I found out that i have a bed in a stinky, dirty 6 bed dormitory with males (I am a female). I was extremely disappointed! After 9 hours of flight this wasn't what I was looking for right before the day of my exam. I called trip.com and their customer service was horrible especially the person I talked to (Franky). He was rude and literally behaving as I was the one lying and after checking for quiet a while and keeping me on hold, he came back and give me 2 options: to cancel or to go in a 6 bed female dorm. As it was too late to book another place, and almost all the rooms were occupied I had to go with the second option, but I will make sure that I never book with this website in the future and I strongly recommend others not to believe every photo you see in this website, and make sure not to do the same mistake as mine.

Trip sold me a trucker with two different airlines, and a layover in Cancun. My flight landed in Cancun at 8:20, I paid a taxi to drive me to the next terminal and arrived at 8:40, only to be told by the airline that I couldn't not board (flight was to leave by 9:55) because based on their guidelines, I had to be there 3 hours before boarding. I called trip to help me get me a new flight and they said they couldn't help me and that I had to book myself a flight home. Not kidding… i have requested for a full refund of my flight, a refund for the luggage I had to pay, and pay for the ridiculous overpriced last minute flight I had to purchase back home to the states. Ive called and tried to get my refund and all I hear is "I understand your concerns but I will write my notes to the supervisor…" last time I called I was told that the previous rep I spoke to never passed my concerns to the "supervisor." It's all a scam. I would never use them again and i would warn others to stay away otherwise you'll pay 3 times more. I filed a complaint with BBB and I will continue to file a complaint. There were multiple of other folks left at the airport who also booked with trip. Some slept at the airport and seeing how it's been 2 weeks and still no response, I'm sure those people had to purchase a last minute flight home. This site should not be able to function and should be penalize for all the scams they have conducted.

My husband canceled his plane ticket within 24 hours of booking (2 hours after booking to be exact). The airline we booked through and the US Department of Transportation mentions that we should get a full refund under these circumstances. Trip.com sent us a confirmation email and they said we should be expecting our refund within 14 days.
14 days later, they give us an $18 refund on a $250 ticket.
They won't give us our money back because it is an airline policy' although I called The airline to discuss this same topic. The airline promises full money back within 24 hours of booking, which happened on our end. Trip.com is trying to rob us of our money.
I'll keep trying to get my money back, but after hours on the phone with trip.com, we have had no luck and are very frustrated.
Update: after countless hours on the phone with representatives, we got nowhere. They will refuse to give us our money back. They said that it's an airline policy, and when I asked for proof about that policy, they said they couldn't give it to me.' I will never recommend trip.com to anyone. Don't waste your time with this third party.

Horrible experience with the booking of a train from Shanghai to Beijing. We rang to confirm our booking and location the day before-we received an email for the address and was where we got dropped off at 6am. Upon arriving at the station, there was no one manning the ticket booth until 7:40am and our train was due to leave at 7:00am. We couldn't use the machines as we weren't locals. After calling the support number provided by trip.com we were told to commute to the otherside of the station to find a ticket booth there. We couldn't find a ticket booth anywhere and there was no staff to ask. We called again, explaining that we had no way of actually getting our tickets, they told us that it was NOT their problem, they wouldn't provide a refund and would NOT help book the next train. They couldn't even tell us where to locate an operating ticket booth (the other side of the station). So we missed our train. Beyond a horrible experience and definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND

First off, hasn't the world learned in the last few months what everyone in China is doing? If you deal on eBay, look at the feedback from Chinese sellers! YEP! If your buying ANYTHING from China, your fueling the problem. The feedback here is 1.?% overall rating. The question mark is because it's getting worse daily. If you didn't know, NOW YOU DO!
Secondly, some crooked f**k nabbed my debit card number, THATS CHIPPED FOR EXTRA PROTECTION, and was able to book a trip on this corruptazzfkk site WITHOUT THE SECURITY CODE AND EXPIRATION DATE! So,... after cancelling my card, I called customer service. Same Chinese dude answers ALL the countries numbers. He says his name is "7". There ya go. The whole site, EVERYONE EMPLOYED is a crook! The smartazz number 7 told me to "call the cops", then snickered. Guess we'll see how long they stay in business once they've stolen enough that no country will allow doing business with them AND ANY CHINESE OWNED COUNTRY!

Absolute garbage and unprofessional. Cancelled our departing flight to florida but not the return flight. So we booked our departing flight elsewhere now we are leaving tomorrow and THEY CANCELLED OUR RETURN FLIGHTS. This gotta be the absolute dumbest brand on earth. Your WHOLE INCOME is based ON BOOKING TRIPS NOT CANCELLING THEM ON PPL. So i wouldnt recommend any one give them a single penny. STICK TO GOOGLE FOR FLIGHTS AND HOTELS. I purchased a retuned ticket from London to Dubai in December 2021, unfortunately at that period covid restriction was in place to have a negative PCR certificate before flying, incidentally one of my family member tested positive and that means wouldn't travel and the covid test certificate was emailed to Trip.com to process a refund or voucher from the airline back to me. 11 months now Trip.com have not refunded by money or provide a voucher, they kept lying that BA which is the airline has not responded to them. After my constant calling to BA to know what is happening with my case, BA then confirmed that they have responded to all the block logged of request from December 2021 to June 2022 and necessary remittance has be issued to travel agencies to release to all their customers. But up till now Trip.com has not refund my money or issue a voucher to me despite the fact that BA has release it to Trip.com. My simply advise and warning to all customer is that Trip.com is a scam and a fraudster avoid them. They do not have an office you can trace them to. Be warned now before you become a victim(s) like I'm.

Dishonesty and Not Caring

While I had booked hotels before on Trip, this time I have booked my first (and definitely last!) flight on Trip.com. I never expected to see such a bad service when they have "service guarantee" advertised on Trip website!

Just to put it in nutshell, booking from them is all headache and many hours of time wastage. Airline had cancelled one flight (and the airline were ok to provide alternative flight without any fee as it was their issue); however Trip keep asking me, you can request for change yourself and pay money! Even Trip had cancelled my lounge which I bought without any prior notification or reason or anything and I need to wait a month to receive its payment! For all of these, I needed to talk to so many support team representatives on chat and phone (even supervisor), but many were not knowledgeable or even never get back to you when they promise to give a call back to you.

In the end, airline helped to change directly after I informed them about Trip.com inefficiency. The airline mentioned Trip "intentionally does not provide the alternative" otherwise we are willing to do so as you can see. It means if I trusted Trip (which I used to trust before) and did not contact the airline, I should have paid extra which was not needed!

In conclusion, extremely bad and misleading service from Trip. What I felt from dealing with Trip.com for flights was "just money matters; satisfaction, time and honesty does not matter at all". I hope by sharing this, future customers know about their rights to not fall into "Trip traps" and check everything, as apparently Trip is not as honest as I thought…and well, they do not "care" about you even at the higher management level, as there was no simple apology even in the end...

I booked with them return ticket FLL/HAV/FLL for two adults.
My trip from Florida to Havana was canceled due to the Doriane Hurricane. The airport in Florida was closed for 2 days and I could not get to Cuba, so I asked them to cancel my return flight as well. Initially they told me to call the airline as they have nothing to do with it, I contacted Jetblue and they told me that since I booked my flight with third party (trip.com) they are the one that should be refunding my money which made sense (by the way all those calls were international calls and cost me a lot of money). I called trip.com back and they promised to put on a request for me to refund my money.
Within one hour time, I got an email saying that they will not refund my money and I should call them back. It is a lot of hassle and they would not offer a solution or take any responsibility for the flight being canceled in the first place.
I will never deal with them again. I would rather pay a little bit more money and deal with the airline directly, especially when I approached Jetblue representative online, they were super helpful and went out of their way to guide me accordingly

Don't use trip.com! Exorbitant hidden costs! I was very happy with skyscanner for many years, most agents worked fine. The problem with trip.com is that they will sell you a rather cheap ticket, non-refundable. You don't get the option to add baggage before paying for the ticket. They then ask you to contact them to add check-in baggage, they send you a payment link with the baggage cost "as per the airline you fly with". My trip was an AirAsia flight from Melbourne to Delhi, 3h change planes in KL. Trip.com sent payment link for Aud$128 for 20kg check-in luggage... I paid (even though that's rather steep to begin with)... the confirmation arrived, I had purchased check-in luggage form Melbourne to KL, the first leg only! The second part of the flight/booking was NOT included, I had to pay for baggage AGAIN... $500 one-wy flight became a $750 flight... $250 check-in baggage. "Oh, we understand and are very sorry - it's the airline's prices"... It seems they buy separate flights, sell those as a single ticket - then let you pay leg-by-leg baggage fees after... and you have no redress. Once you made the initial payment, you're sucked. Dishonest business model, do not support them, book with someone else!

Worst company ever. I would not even call this a company, its a scam! They made our holiday a hell. We booked a flight through them to Tel Aviv from London via Istanbul and back. After 1 day of arrival (Christmas day) we received an email our flight back was canceled. So we contacted "costumer service" to get help, but it was the most useless thing on Earth. They were keep promising us to get us another ticket one day later, and get rid of us by saying wait for our email confirmation. They were keep sending us confusing emails about not having enough information, or our flight is not changable. They dont even speak proper english and I felt like I am talking to the wall. After contacting them several times for 2 entire day saying the same thing over and over again I realised we wont get any help from these people. So we decided to book our own tickets after wasting 2 days with their useless messages. They also mentioned the flight company got bankrupted so we thought we better get another ticket as soon as possible especially because we didnt want to waste our holiday dealing with this anymore. On the 3. Day when I asked them about refund, they told me I am not entitled for any refund because I didnt apply for refund, also they dont even see any flight cancellation anymore and our flight is still on. So after this torture I would like to warn everyone not to purchase any tickets through trip.com if you want a peaceful holiday!

Recently I had two incidents that cost me a lot of money as a result of non-transparency from Trip.com.

The first was where I accidentally booked a student ticket because I couldn't see that it was a student ticket. It was mentioned only twice during the entire booking to confirmation process and in small print, easily missed. All of the policies and messages and emails I did check didn't explicitly mention it.

The second time I tried to change a flight but could only find business class alternatives so I was forced to cancel and rebook. Even though the cancellation says that I was eligible for a full refund due to the airlines flight delay, the processing of my cancellation took so long from Trip.com's side that the airline register it as a missed flight (I did cancel the day prior) and I got no refund, losing a lot of money.

The lack of transparency is appalling and I will no longer use Trip.com and encourage to stay away. If my two experiences weren't enough, the markup they put on my original flight was also much more than what is reasonable that I found it much more affordable and easier to book through the airline.
