No refund as promised

Reference: flight from [Sydney to Bangkok] one-way ticket [*******674]

I have booked a flight from Sydney to Bangkok with Air Asia via trip.com (3/1/2022), as a transit flight to HK. They have changed their flight date to a whole day prior (24 hours, so 2/1/2022). Since it was a transit flight, i cancelled it as it would be too long of a wait for the next flight.

Trip.com claimed that I can receive my refund by 16/1/2022, but I have received no refund. So i sent them an email and asked for information. I then subsequently send them 20+ emails only to receive generic similar replies from Cherry, Abbie, Jerrick, Krisha,Mariam, Richie, Mahmoud, Rozy, Rain, Jolin, John, Stephanie, Mani, Fatema that I should just WAIT after contacting the airline.This means that NOBODY is following my case, nobody is reading previous emails, and i have to repeat my situation every time:
A) I cannot reach air asia for my refund as it is booked by their agency
B) trip.com would not provide me a date where I would definitely receive a refund (even claiming half year is okay as long as they can do it)
C) I asked trip.com what policy they would have if Air Asia keep prolonging my refund or refuse to provide me with refund (e.g.like for more than 3 months) - they reply they will just wait for the airline - which means this agency has no protection for securing refunds at all but they scontinue to work with such shaddy airlines (I read online now that air asia is notorious for not giving back refunds - why would trip.com work with them if so?)
D) I cannot claim my insurance yet due to this "uncertainty" - with no provided date but a forever waiting of my refund

I have had good services from trip.com before, this is such a big disappointment. They have lost a long term customer.

My recent experience with Trip.com was very bad

First I received a confirmed booking of the hotel - asking me to very clearly "nothing for you to do, here is a confirmatuon"

Then the day of my flight I received 2 calls from an unknown number (which I did not pickup), while I picked it up the third time - when I was at the airport saying "your booking is not confirmed"

I replied "sure book me something similar and around the beach "

What followed was the most ridiculous Custoemr service experience, where all the suggestion were very far from the beach

I got annoyed and called the hotel myself to do the booking (they confirmed me 5 days instead of 6)

I started chatting with Trip.com guys and went ahead with that booking after they promised that they will pay me the difference

At this point I was in the flight and boarded.

Multiple bookings meant my credit card was maxxed out and also that I did not have my 6th night booking.

I landed in Thailand and got and email saying that they will NOT pay any compensation and a rudimentary calculation saying they would cover only the difference

I spoke with manager and then the hotel and then with manager and finally extended my 6th night booking myself

Trip.com agreed to pay the difference and said they will add a compensation of 1000-1200RM, this after it was clear that this is a worthless waste of an entire day and it should not even have been negotiated ad it was about 1 day hotel charges + all the time they wasted.

Had they proposed this, maybe it would have been fine but they made unnecessary negotiations and wasted more of my time

I will be making sure I share this review every place I possibly can

NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE

Glad to see that I am not the only one with a bad experience, unfortunately... I used Trip.com in October to book a hotel in Vegas. I have never had such a nightmare experience with a booking site. The hotel room was not as advertised. Key components were missing and the hotel had problems from the moment we arrived to the time we left. This ranged from check-in being unable to issue room keys successfully at first, to spotty wifi outages in the rooms which prohibited me from working from computer as needed, the TV only working for perhaps two hours of a 3 day stay, no water one morning which resulted in us not being able to shower and prepare properly for the day-- hence missing meetings and paid-for events, etc etc. The list was long. I, and several guests brought the issue up with the Hotel. Despite the hotel staff being apologetic there was not much they could do for me as I did not book directly through them. I was encouraged to contact my booking company (Trip.com) with necessary information. I did such with Trip.com as soon as I was home again. The run-around has been insane. They are so unwilling to help. One agent claims one thing, then upon follow up, you are given a completely different story and experience. Nothing matches up. I have spent hours upon hours in chat with Trip.com making no progress as it is their word against yours. When I did write a review of the Hotel experience on the Trip.com website, the review was missing soon after. It is clear they censor site reviews in the name of greedy bookings. After endless chat conversations with multiple reps, I am still at a standstill. I have repeatedly asked for a chat transcript of all correspondence so that I may move forward on my own accord. They deny this request. They claim they have no access to it. However, they then can review it? They can see it, it is on file-- but they won't provide it. I have been told I need to go through the chat and "screenshot" page by page. After so many chats and so many hours, I now have hundreds of screenshots! I have been on contact with the Hotel in regards to my initial experience and in reflection of Trip.com. Trip.com really should not be booking hotels in the manner that they do! In addition, I am now working with my credit card on the manner. Luckily, they HAVE been helpful. I will never use Trip.com again. I have never had such a poor experience with a booking site.

I would never again

I will never use this agency again. My flight was canceled and when I tried to call back I couldn't get through to an agent because using the appropriate option, it kept asking for a pin which i was never provided and then hung up on me. I finally managed to get theough to an agent for an entirely different type of booking who transferred me to flights. I talked to an agent who said they had an open seat on another flight and would precess my flight change, 2 hours later at 1 am i recieved an email saying the seat wasnt available and they would need to confirm a different flight, so i called back again, using the same method as i still was not given a "pin". The next agent said they could get me on a different flight and would process my seat request... once again I recieved word that that seat was apparently also unavailable but that they had an open seat the next morning, this was sent to me at 4am by email, however (despite having asked them to call me with the update)the agent who was supposed to be reaching me to set a new Itinerary sent me an email but never called so the only option I had, I missed the booking opportunity because I didn't even know it was available. The lady also barely spoke English when she finally did call me (at my request after calling again) and when I apologetically asked if I could have someone explain the itinerary who spoke clearer English I was told there was noone (despite the voices of a bunch of other agents in the background) eventually she told me I should just go to the airport... I could have handled my own flights in a far more organized and clear fashion if I had just book directly through the airline now I'm going to be a day late on my trip and I have to spend 12 hrs in another city to make a connecting flight. Just a complete disorganization mess of an agency. I have dealt with flight cancelations and other issues with other agencies and never had this kind of run around and incompetence. DO NOT BOOK with this company.

Do not trust agents!

I had to purchase 4 different flights to Barcelona, all cancelled at the last min in the same week. The last booking I made i didn't get a cancel notification but when i got to check in they said i was not listed and never was issued a ticket. I was at the airport for hours, the flight departed and I got an email saying to book the same flight for the next day but it was sold out. I did get the refund and they told me since there were no longer any non stop flights on Veuling from JFK to BCN and the price went up significantly that it would be fine to book any flight with another airline and they would refund me the difference. I made sure to call 5 different agents to make sure that this was ok, ALWAYS GET AN EMAIL. They assured me that they had spoken to their manager and that there were notes on my account saying i was good to buy this expensive flight. The next day I was happy and positive I was getting on my flight so I called back to make sure that everything was ready only for them to tell me that they can no longer pay me the difference of my flight and that I am not eligible to cancel. This flight was a $1,613.80 economy flight leaving from the same airport JFK, the only difference was that it had a stop in Frankfurt. Her solution was to buy ANOTHER flight from LGA... a diff airport, I would have been tricked again due to it departing from another location. Another agent told me that they would issue me a refund with the team and to book a Saturday flight with vueling, which is what I did. I have been trying to get this taken care of since June and all the agents keep telling me is that they will issue a ticket with their dispute team but I am stuck with a charge for a flight I was told to buy and never used after I realized I had been scammed. They did not even want to give me the fare difference for the Saturday flight even though it met all of the requirements and i had to issue a dispute. I have called back recently and the agents keep telling me to drop my disputes with the bank and they will refund me but when i tell them i want it typed out in an email they say that it is not possible.

Horrendous, the worst company ever,
They are horrible liars, my wife entrusted them to book a flight ticket with wizz air for her Ukrainian grandparents fleeing the war, the day of the flight she tried checking in on wizz air directly since they didnt offer the check in themselves,
She added a 10kg luggage on the wizz air site but couldnt pay for it because the invoice data was in their company's name and in CHINA!

This made the whole system go in tilt, we called them 5 times in a hurry as we needed to get to the airport and said they would resolve and that it was USUAL FOR THEM, but that in the worst case scenario they would OF COURSE reimburse the airport check in fees (40e per person!) as it was their issue!
They said that in the registered conversation that they sent us and in chat messages for which we have the screen capture of!
When we saw that they were not resolving anything we proceded to check in and pay an excruciating 80e in useless fees as the person in the trip.com chat gave us the green light and said they would reimburse us.

We pay confident they will take their responsibility and today "Bjergsen" a customer advisor writes:
"We are sorry that we cannot refund you the check-in fee. (.)
Second, we Trip.com have not process your booking with pending service. The 10KG baggage is added by yourself and you fail to pay the service. Hence, we will take no responsibility for that.

Thanks for choosing Trip.com. We look forward to serving you again in the near future."

No worries Trip.com we will write to the european consumer protection agency and we will write what happened to us everywhere so people know it!
We will not yield!

Worst travel experience ever!
Worst travel experience ever! I highly recommended you to avoid this agency! I book with them connected flight from Bali-Jakarta-Doha-Istanbul ( I had 3 connected flights) and I pad extra add so I can get boarding pass and check in online. Few hours before flight I texted them and agent told me that I need to go and check in physically and take boarding pass even I have paid this service. Second thing the time between flights was 45 minutes so it was not possible to catch the flight. I asked him to change the ticket but at that moment they send me check in with confirmation pass so change was not possible. He told me to call airlines to resolve it. I tried but airlines was saying that agents should do change. In the morning on the airport they told me I will not be able to catch second flight. I manage to change check in by myself and to change ticket with Trip.com app. Trip.com charge me extra 1.100 AED and send email that I will get confirmation tickets by 1:45 pm. From 4 am unit 1:30 pm I talked to few different agents and all of them were giving me not clear answers saying I should wait. I was in transit zone in Jakarta, not allowed to stay, not allowed to leave airport, I lost 2 connected flights and needed to catch next one that I paid again for. I was with my sick mom heading to Turkey for scheduled surgery. At 1:30 pm I texted agent saying no one send me tickets and explained my situation. He told me I need to wait 2 more hours. I did not have more time as check in was opening soon. I told them to give the ticket because more then 10 hours I am hearing excuses or to give me money back. He told me that can only refund 1.100 AED for change ticket. And 3.700 AED they will keep as I got old tickets. I agree to take 1.100 AED. After that I booked another flight direct with airlines and paid 4.000 AED just to reach second destination. In 10 minutes Trip.com send me tickets that I have beginning them all day- they did not do refund as we agreed. Again I texted them and asked why they do that when we agreed for refund. Their agent again gave me excuses saying I did not said I want refund even I had said it many times and I have screenshot proves that I send to agent. I have spend more then 10.000 AED which is 2.500 euros on this tickets, did not reach destination and I have one more flight that again O will need to buy tickets for. I was lied to more then 10 hours beginning for my own paid ticket and at the end got cheated for money. I want Trip.com to refund what they own me and to understand what kind of trauma me and my family have survived! It is embarrassing how you do business and how you are playing with people life's here! I will never ever use this app again and will make sure that this comment and feedback reach as much people as possible! I have travel blog and traveled many countries using different apps and I never experienced something like this!

TLDR: trip.com is a massive scam and will cancel your flights, then fraudulently charge your card for thousands of dollars

As I mentioned in the title, I've been flying domestically and abroad for 40 years. I am going to volunteer in Ukraine and booked my flights from the US to Poland with trip.com. WORST MISTAKE in the world. I called them before booking to make sure my baggage (200 LB of refugee supplies I was flying) would be checked directly from my home airport to Warsaw (I was paying for the excess baggage). I was told YES, no problem. So I booked my ticket.
I'm leaving in 6 days, and 3 days ago I got a message about my upcoming trip and that I would have to claim my baggage in New York and re-check it at a different airport.

Ok, so they lied about the checked through baggage. Problem? My transfer in New York was for 2.5 hours from touch town in LaGuardia to take of in JFK to Poland.

I would NEVER have booked this flight if I knew about the no baggage transfer. After all it's 200 LB of supplies to wait and claim at LGA, race to JFK and then re-check again...

I made 14 calls to trip.com (totaling 3 hours and 47 minutes) about this and because they provided incorrect information, all I asked for was to move my first flight up to have a few more hours to get myself and my supplies from LGA to JFK. First 10 calls, they read off a script. 11th call, they told me they would change my flight to an earlier one.AT NO CHARGE. Then, before I even got the approval to change my flight in email, they charged my card $800 for fees.
Long story short, I marked them as fraud with my bank, and when I called again to cancel the first segment of my trip "I just want to cancel this one flight, I don't want a refund. I will purchase a separate ticket.", yup, they canceled my roundtrip and tried to charge me $1,100 (charge received and declined three times by my bank). This is after their own agents told me the flight change would be at no charge.
I have now lost the cost of this trip and have had to purchase completely new flights (4 days before I leave to Ukraine), as I have to deliver the refugee supplies by June 2.
Never, EVER use trip.com for anything.

HORRIBLE, I think I'm being SCAMMED

I booked 2 fligts on the site, obviously always selecting the dates I wanted to travel, when it was time to confirm everything, I don't know what happened but the dates changed, I realized it when the bill was sent to my e-mail adress. Something happened with the website, I THINK I'M BEING SCAMMED...

I called customer service 2 seconds after recieving my confirmation, I explained everything, ALL my choices were VERY clear in my research. He said they couldn't do anything for me, no refund, no change, he said that someone from management would call me and investage on how the website went wrong in the next 72h... I really think I'm being scammed, I never changed my dates, now I'm stuck with 4 flights that I can not take... Being treated like I voluntarily picked wrong dates and now asking for refund!... I don't even want my money back, I just want my flights like I selected them prior to the abnormal switch.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE... I REGRET clicking on the link from google...I do not recommand, save your money...

Booked a flight from London Stansted to Bucharest with a connecting flight to Paphos with a 2 hour transfer time all through Trip.

When I arrived in Bucharest I was informed the flight to Paphos left an hour before I was due to land and that that flight was not changed it was scheduled correctly and that Trip.com sold me a flight that did not exist. I had to book another two flights to get to Larnica for £230 and then get a taxi to Paphos for €150.

They sold me a flight with a connecting flight that didn't exist. They are blaming the airline but I did not get any emails from Trip about a flight change or any from the airline. I lost a whole day of my holiday due to travelling and spent a lot of money just to get £25 back for the original cost of the connecting flight (which they haven't actually returned yet)

Their customer service just keeps repeating the same few lines from theor script hoping you'll hang up which eventually you have to because they will not reimburse. They do continually apoligise yet won't admit fault.

I wish i had seen all these reviews sooner. Do not book with them!

Empresa lamentable

Empresa lamentable.
Mas de 10 dias tardaron en realizar una gestión solicitando un voucher, y de 600 y pico que pagué mas 377 euros, me ofrecen una devolución de 29 euros! De risa!
Me marearon durante varios días, para finalmente no resolver el asunto, y perjudicándome, porque nunca pude realizar un cambio de vuelo, de tanto que tardaron en contestarme.
El motivo porque el que solicito reembolso o al un voucher fue por hospitalización de mi madre. Y les envié toda la información que me solicitaron, incluido informe medico, libro de familia... etc.
Experiencia terrible con esta empresa.

Una verguenza. Me llega dos veces cambio vuelo. Vuelo 17 marzo. El 15 por la noche me llega otro cambio (menos de 48h antes) y que trngo que aceptar el cambio. Le doy y aparece un error. Al dia siguiente recibo un nuevo correo (16 marzo) con de nuevo la fecha del 27 y hoy al hacer el check in la sorpresa que finalmentes mañana.

Trip.com memang jahanam lah. MAS buat pertukaran, Trip.com Lepas tangan macam tu je, sampai lewat ke KLIA, and flight dah pun berlepas ke Terengganu, Trip.com ni yg nak murah okay, kalao apa apa tjadi dorang lepas tangan je.

He comprado vuelos con ellos dos veces. Las dos veces he tenido problemas con los vuelos. Y desde trip.com me han dejado tirada como una colilla. La última vez fue a 20 horas del vuelo por un vuelo que había costado mucho dinero. Atención pésima. Nunca más vuelvo a comprar nada con ellos.
