We had a most enjoyable stay at the Clarion Resort. The view of the ocean, the bay and Coastal Highway, were amazing. Could not believe we were able to see all three from our high balcony, (14th floor). The staff could not be any more helpful and courteous. The pool staff was wonderful, (attentive and great with kids). We found the maid staff to be most accommodating and great at their jobs too. We were thrilled to be staying here and will definitely return for another visit. Thank you, Clarion Hotel for giving us a much needed rest.

Made an enquiry and was re-directed to another website venere.com. Unknowingly at the time the date was changed on redirection and I made a booking probably as there was no availability at the hotel on said date. I cancelled immediately (within 10 minutes) when I noticed the date change. I have been charged 90% of the room cost with no hope of a refund. Disgusted. Even if this was my mistake you should be able to get a refund for a genuine mistake as I am sure venere.com would have incurred no cost.

I have used many times but am finding they do not post all sites for a hotel as they say. I have found cheaper rates on the hotels own website many times and they advertise that all they do is compare all sites to find the cheapest. Do not trust. I only use to find out what hotels there are available in a given area and then do my own search after I choose one.

WARNING! Do not ever use Trivago for booking any rooms online! I went online booked 2 Rooms for 4 Nights and paid by Credit Card. After the payment was put through the confirmation came 1 Room for the wrong month! I called them 5 minutes later to explain they made an error on their website, they might as well have said Go Screw Yourself! I'm so pissed off, I explained what happened that it was a computer error, and it defaulted to the wrong date! They said well you can cancel but need to pay the cancellation fee, we said fine how much? OMG it was the cost of the room! Lesson learned big time today, NEVER USE TRIVAGO to book anything ever! So in conclusion, we did pay the fee and will never give them our business again. They have no idea how much business they just lost from us, we have rooms booked all the time all over the province, I wanted them to add more rooms for more nights and just cancel this one night and move it to another. Absolutely no business sense what so ever.

I used Trivago to search for a good hotel deal in Chicago. The site was really easy to use and I was able to save quite a bit of money.
Also there are a bunch of filters that you can use to find what you are looking for, such as by price, distance to certain areas, and star rating.
I would highly recommend Trivago to people looking for a hotel

Got a beautiful room in Fort bragg California when checking out I asked person behind counter how much the room would have been had I made the reservation through the hotel and it was $50.00 difference. (Trivago reservation was $169.00)(hotel reservation was $119.00) From now on I will call hotel.

Dear Ed,
Thank you for your message and we appreciate this feedback.
Hotels distribute discounted rates to multiple booking sites which are usually under the normal BAR or sell rate which can be booked directly at the hotel. What trivago does is simply displays them all together, in one place, for users to compare and choose from. Our main purpose is to help users find their ideal hotel at the best price.
We function as a portal for hotels to advertise themselves, as well as a meta-search for booking sites to display their rates and increase the traffic to their companies.
Sometimes booking directly with the hotel can be cheaper if they are promoting special rates, however, for the most part, their sell rates do not fluctuate as much as those which are sold through booking sites.
Our main goal is to help people find that particular ideal hotel to fit their needs, then they can book it however they choose. We are also currently integrating Direct Connect, an option that you might find useful, which is a service where hotels can directly display their own rates on trivago and promote themselves this way.
We hope that this clarifies things from our side.
Kind regards,
James Morrison

I had a real problem booking and Trivago actually helped to solve the problem, I was impressed by the U. K. customer service office, and an individual person in that office which I do not want to mention by name on this review but wow, the willingness to help solve the issue was incredible. Thank You. Ron

Dear Ron,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Please allow us to correct you on a few things.
Trivago is a hotel search and not a booking site, you cannot make a booking on trivago. As a hotel search, trivago is not involved in the booking process between the user, the online travel agent (Otel.com in your case) and the hotel, and therefore cannot, in any way, claim financial responsibility for the transaction process between these parties. We pull information from multiple (over 260) booking sites and display the prices together. However, once a user clicks through to book a room, they are directed to the appropriate booking site which provides that price to complete reservation and payment details. Trivago doesn't actually have any involvement in the making of the booking.
Nevertheless, before displaying rates from a booking site on trivago, a background check on the company is always conducted to ensure that their customers have the opportunity find the deals offered on their website. This background check has been completed for Otel.com. You are correct, Otel.com is a Turkish company, which explains why their banking is handled out of Istanbul.
Trivago does not display deals from any site that does not pass our integration check, or where there are any reports that the site is not reliable. As we endeavor to display all online hotel offers globally, we believe that we would be doing a disservice to our users if we were to ban a booking site.
What you can and should expect from trivago is that we will always strive for maximum transparency. Therefore we recommend that our users take further steps to review the booking site’s rating score. All rating scores are prominently displayed next to the logo of each booking site on trivago and are continuously reviewed by fellow trivago users.
Please get in touch with us directly at info@trivago.com if you would like further assistance with your issue. We will do our utmost to help you.
Kind regards,
If you are looking for the old hotel, character, ambiance, sound of the sea, view of the sea, smell of the sea, fantastic food, great staff - then this is it. Ratty, tatty and wonderful, not modern, get that anywhere, but has clean, comfy beds, breakfast and view from the veranda of this lovely place. Kids catered for outside everyone eats great food on great service. The fact that the three restaurants are constantly full tells it all. After 20 years I wanted the smell, sound and feel of the sea again and got it in spades. Keep it up, I will be back.

While our room was clean when we first arrived, the next day after being gone all day our room was not cleaned. When we at least wanted clean towels, we were told we would have to wait 1 hour or the next day! Yes the price was reasonable but should at least get some service for our money! Will never return here and am telling everyone I know to not come here either!

I recently booked a trip to on Trivago (with Travelocity). The price that shows on the Trivago site was not what I was charged. Somewhere between the nice attractive price on Trivago and my credit card the daily rate rose 72% from $85 to $146. The hotel charged me more because I had 4 guests and the base rate was based on 2 guests. This happened in spite of me performing a search for a family with the correct number of guests on trivago.ca. The Trivago service is good but everyone please be aware that the pricing is not accurate!

Booked a hotel through trivago, took me to hoteling.com. Room was booked, however the dates were wrong. Sent E-mails to hoteling and nothing back, cancelled room, ( $50.00) charge subtracted from the price i paid $122.00. Now, I still have not gotten a refund and still no reponse. If you have a site, you should vet the companies that you are driving your customers to. I know that trivago will plead ignorance as they are a "hotel search engine". Thank you for nothing! BTW, went to priceline and got a better deal on a better room. I will stick with them from now on.

We have nothing but praise for Marion Keane at the Tiernakill Farmhouse B&B. Our stay was excellent in every way: congenial, gracious and welcoming host, immaculate rooms, and a delicious breakfast with many choices. Thank you, Marion, for everything, especially for the ride to the pub, so that we could enjoy a lovely pint of beer!

I booked accomadation in geelong on the esplanade with Trivago one week before our party to find there was no accomadation on arrival, we received confirmation details and they also charged my credit card the same day we booked, so disappointed and stranded

TV ads-big hype no delivery. Most room prices are the same from every booking site.
Hotels pretty much fair price their rooms. Go to the hotel site you can get the room just as cheap or even less expensively. Couldn't find any maps on the site to show where the hotel is located-really inconvenient. Save time use hotels.com, find the hotel you want.

So a few moments back I just booked a hotel for 3 nights with trivago which reads as St. Mark's but after the booking when I got a mail from travelguru (the site where I was taken to for booking by trivago), I realized that they had booked St. Mark's Inn which is a way cheaper hotel and no wonder why did I get this deal. I am cancelling the booking now and this is not how fool the customers. If you have St. Mark's INN registered with you, you better mention that and not dupe customers for it to be St. Mark's. Really shameful and disappointing
Tip for consumers:
Please do not book from here they might show some other hotel and you might end up booking a lodge with a similar name

I booked a hotel in Atlanta through Trivago, using Otel.com.
When I called to check on my reservation, they didn't have it. I contacted Trivago and Otel.com and Trivago basically told me it wasn't their problem. Otel.com is a foreign company, and has very poor support services.
I will dispute the charge on my card, and will NEVER use Trivago again. Instead of buying ad time, they should spend money on better customer support, and to better qualify which companies they associate with.

We booked McGee Cottages in Cannon Beach, OR via Trivago on June 5,2017. During the booking process, I was pressured to hurry up as so many others had viewed this cottage and only one was left. Due to time restraints, I did book the cottage. Upon arrival on June 6th, I found that my reservation was never received. Also, I found out that most of the cottages were still available. Personnel at Cannon Beach Hotel who handle the registrations for McGee indicated that I was lucky as others who have booked via Trivago arrived to find that they did not have a room. Also, the cost of the cottage was much cheaper if booked directly.

My husband and I have a problem similar to Michelle F's (of 4/9/15) I found better rate thru Trivago and booked, found myself back on Expedia, then receipt showed different date than our vacation's (interestingly, the date that would have permitted refund using the refundable rate). Two different Expedia agents have been involved trying to fix "site error", and the hotel agreed to change the date, but Expedia has not followed through (nor with the $25 certificate "for our trouble"). Does Trivago intercede when trouble appears to have begun with their site?

I used this website to compare prices of different hotels in Hawaii. I found a great price for a big hotel chain right in Waikiki and didn't hesitate a second to book. It saved me about 25% to the regular price on their website, a really great deal.

When you search hotel by distance there distance information is wrong, This is the second time this has happened. False advertising trivago. Plus they advertise deals that don't exsist. Do your research trivago. Wont use the site again.

The ad I just saw advised a man whose girl friend looked at his browser history and didn't like what he was looking at and so kicked him out of the house to go to a local hotel that he could book on Trivago and have WiFi (so he could continue to browse sleazy websites). Not cool at all, Trivago!

I thought I was getting a good deal on this hotel room. It said the address of the hotel was in the same area as the venue we are going to. I live in the area so I know the location. However, after I booked the room it showed up as a different location 20 min away. Which was bad really bad! I don't have money to waste! I thought I was doing something good on trivago, but I was wrong very wrong. Not only did it lie about the location the website that I booked it though was out of the country and not a legitimate website. My credit company is in the process of giving me all the money back. Horrible website and apparently trivago doesn't look into the sites it refers customers to. Nobody wants to take responsibility. Bad! Would get 0 stars if possible.

I booked a trip thru trivago who has partner with Amoma to Orlando the week of the hurricane. I had to call 3 times to get a rep. Once I got a rep, I was told they have to see if the hotel will refund money due to the hurricane.
WHAT, If the whole city is told to evacuate you should get your money back. The hotel refunded me the amount they charged but this company will not refund their fee. I will never use them again nor trivago.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site Trivago is booking trips thru Amoma and you don't know until you pay.

Very bad. I'm trying to book a hotel for an upcoming trip to Asia. Trivago appears to have excellent deals, so I click on the selected hotels and Trivago brings me to Agoda, Priceline, or Booking.com -- and EVERY SINGLE TIME the price is more than what Trivago showed me. That is not acceptable. I do not recommend this site. Use kayak instead.
