I booked a night at this hotel with my husband and 11 year old son who liked the looks of their outdoor pool. We live out on the Mesa and like to come into town for dinner and spend the night on occasion. When we went to check in the manager and another lady interrogated us on the purpose of our stay. They informed me they don't like to rent rooms to locals due to our bad behavior, destruction of rooms, druggies overall we are not welcome and they are privately owned and can be prejudice against whomever. I was shocked at the rudeness and complete lack of customer service. I cancelled the transaction and we drove back to the Doubletree where we got a locals discount HAHA a cookie and much better room. No one from Durango should stay at the Best Western Mountain Shadows is full of sketchy disrespectful locals BEWARE.

I made a booking on 29th May using the trivago site. It directed me to the ebookers.com. Which is apparently some "UK based website".
It made the booking to a very cheap hotel in a not so good locality, which clearly wasn't a place for women. So after arriving there, me and my husband immediately decided to leave. We tried calling trivago to report the same to them and cancel the booking. Instead we were directed to the bookers.com's helpline. The customer executive there was talking in a fake British accent (anyone who listened better could easily tell that it was an indian trying hard to sound british).
She said that the itiniery number that I kept telling her repeatedly did not exist. Even my husband's name, mobile number and the email id for booking did not exist in their system. At the end of 20 mins U was solo frustrated, that I eventually ended up disconnecting the call.
Trivago must really check their partners, otherwise it will soon lose it's credibility.

Trivago might be the most inconvient and unhelpful service I have ever delt with. There is no number to call and it takes days to hear back from an email. The costumer service needs SERIOUS help. Me nor my family or friends will ever use this booking site every again. I have told everyone possible to never give using trivago a second change. That is a shame, however, considering the website is well organized and to the point, but how are you going to be a world wide business with no costumer service? NEVER again trivago. Hours on the phone calling people and searching the web trying to find a number and NOTHING. Then I get an email back days later saying there's no way to help. Because of trivago, I've lost $200.

I booked a round-trip flight through Trivago, my first time. In the process, on the site "JustFLY," I had to CORRECT the DATE of the return flight THREE TIMES, but having done that, I expected my correct date to be on the tickets. It was not. That was when the most unreasonable, even mean exchanges started. I had purchased 'insurance' through "CSA Travel Protection"--which was a total scam--also a part of "JustFly Booking"! Their only remedy was to cancel the entire trip and reschedule--at the fee of $250 per ticket! Here I can only skim the top of the horrible experience. A trip that should have cost less than $500 ended up costing us over $1,100! So much of "Trivago travel savings!"

Dear Maurice,

We are afraid that you are mistaken.

Trivago is a hotel search site only. We don't provide information on flights or any other travel service. Just hotels.

If you do ever need any assistance at all with your hotel search on trivago, please get in touch with us directly at info@trivago.com.

I live in the most northeast part of Florida on a barrier island. We have been tracking Irma closely and until it took a NNW turn, thought we would be able to ride it out. Today we were advised that mandatory evacuations would be in place and we were advised to leave. Found a spot, albeit 300 miles away, and booked it through Trivago which routed me through HotelClicks.com. Credit card was charged but the email said they were still "processing" the reservation. Rate was $159, but strangely the processing was being done in the UK. Five hours later, an email is received that my reservation cannot be accommodated, however it will be 2-3 business days before my cc is credited. Check back at the site and the room booked is still there but now the price is $246! Needless to say, I did not rebook at that rate. Happily I went to Expedia and found another room, booked it and the reservation was promptly confirmed! If I could I would give Trivago 0 stars!

My husband was sent to Hotel Power through the Trivago website. Hotel Power took our money but never made the reservation. I see in the reviews that this has happened to many other people. My husband sat for 3 hours in the hotel lobby calling Trivago and Hotel Power to try and straighten this out. His calls were not returned and finally, shortly after 5pm, he was told the Trivago office was closed! No one has ever gotten back to him. Trivago is responsible for sending people to Hotel Power, a company that obviously is scamming people. The Internet has many complaints similar to ours about Trivago and Hotel Power. From now on we'll book directly with the hotel. At least that way we'll know we actually have a reservation.

When looking for a hotel, Trivago will give a list alright. Then it opens in a new window and it's out of their hands. Clicked on a room and priceline or Expedia or Booking.com comes up wanting my info for the room. Asks for a credit card number but says you will be charged when you arrive at the hotel. The email that is sent has no direct link to cancel the reservation. So if you wind up not staying in the hotel, surprise! You guessed it you're charged for the room by the hotel. Hmmmm? How did the hotel get my CC number? Stick with walking in the front door when you get to a hotel. Chances are you'll get a room and it will be the same damn price as the ripoff websites.

I have no time to go through hotel offers in different booking sites that is why I love trivago. It covers most of the websites. You see all hotel booking sites offers and when you click the symbol of the offer you want they direct you to their webpage.

Their information page lacks a lot to be desired if not just flat out misleading. We rented a room in Lubbock, Texas with the address marked I at one location only to be deverted to another location on the worst possible side of town. Then we were told we couldn't be transferred to the original location. And on top of that we couldn't get a refund.
We will never use Trivago again. Bye bye!

Booked hotel in Paris, needed 3 rooms. Site doubled price for 2nd & 3rd room & you don't know that until they have your credit card info.
Called customer service after being on hole for over an hour, basically was told to bad, no cancellation, no refund.

I followed up with hotel and for severl weeks after I made the reservation the hotel had not been contacted by Trivago to hold the rooms.
Got to hotel & cheaper room included breakfast other 2 rooms did not. Hotel made it right & included breakfast.
Will never use Trivago again!

Dear Dianne,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for using trivago as your hotel search.

However, please bear in mind that you cannot make a booking on or through our site as trivago is a hotel search and not a booking site.

On trivago, users can search and compare different hotels and prices on our site. We pull information from multiple OTAs (online travel agencies) and display the prices together. However, once a user clicks through to ‘view deal’, they are directed to the appropriate booking site which provides that price to complete reservation and payment details. Trivago is not involved in the booking process between the user, the online travel agent and the hotel, and therefore cannot, in any way, claim financial responsibility for the transaction process between these parties.

If you have not already contacted the booking site that you made your reservation with then we would urge you to do so. There may be something they can do for you. You can also get in touch with our user support team if you would like further assistance at info@trivago.com.

Kind regards,
Trivago user support.

I am a seasoned traveler since I have been employeed by a major airline for 33 years.
I booked a room through Trivago for a hotel room for this coming Superbowl in Minneapolis, way back in February. I prepaid the room, and was sent a 2 page confirmation from some 3rd party subsidiary from India called cancelon. I called recently to the hotel, and asked about a bed choice, the hotel had no record of my stay. I called the number with my papers, they said I would get a room 1 day before departure. I did not sign off on such a ridiculous policy. I explained to the operator from India how huge the Superbowl is, and 1 day out is unacceptable. I am now struggling to find a room because they left me out to dry. Trivago has no customer service number its phone number is a out of order. I have used many, many, other cites through the years, this was a first, and last try with Trivago! I do not think they exist at all.! Please use another reputable website for travel.

I had booked a hotel from trivago on 11th feb 2017 in indore city. While the site claimed that it would charge me around 4700 rs it actually charged me 6100rs. Next, i had only RESERVED the room and not finalised it. The site went on to confirm the booking and debited the money without my consent.
I am writing this on every blog i can find about trivago so that you do not continue to cheat people.

I used Trivago for the first itme to find a hotel in Columbia, Missouri. I purchased a room at Suburban Choice Hotel, a kitchenette for $55 a night! The room rate was fabulous and this is the best smelling hotel I have ever stayed in. The people are friendly and helpful and I will definitely stay in Suburban again and use Trivago again. This is a win-win!

An amazing experience. The best way to see the Athabasca river. It was our first time and our expectations were exceeded! We had an amazing guide, called Jhett who took the time to explain the currents and the importance of team work. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and very safety oriented. We enjoyed the class 2+ ride and hope to one day come back and try class three.

We booked a hotel in Liverpool through Trivago so we could go to my brother's funeral. At 9AM (one hour before the funeral) we went to leave our bags at the hotel and were told that they had had 40 bookings through Trivago, all of which were rejected. None of the Trivago customers were informed and they all turned up thinking they had a room and were all stranded in Liverpool. Luckily the hotel had had a cancellation and were able to give us a room. Trivago didn't contact any of the customers to inform us.

If you can't rely on them to make the booking or to inform you if it goes wrong then what use are they?

Trivago connects you to booking.com automatically to make the reservation. The booking.com says that you can cancel but once you reserve they won't let you cancel without charging a fee that is equal to the entire reservation cost. They said that they would check with the hotel to see if the hotel would waive the fee. After a long hold I was told I couldn't cancel without being charged the fee. I later called the hotel directly and was told that there would be no problem to cancel without a fee. Booking.com is deceptive and dishonest. I won't be using Trivago or booking.com again.

Booked hotel in Bali, searching for 9 days but the actuall booking was for 4 nights. WhenI received the confirmation I was in shock to see they booked me for all 9. Of course there is no paper evidence and they say that for security reason they do not keep the record. I booked for 4 people and only 1 person is showing on confirmation even though it is a junior suite and message soecifies beds for 4 in additional request. Shameful

Trivago provides a good insight on what tthe actual booking sites are advertising for hotels. What they don't do well is provide insight to the users on the pitfalls. For instance they advertise "Free Cancelation" when they know that the actual booking sites have in fine print fees that are not understood. If Trivago really stepped up they would provide a user screen that allowed users to understand the pros and cons of the booking agents - like which ones are going to charge fees for cancellation, which ones have poor user experiences, which ones have poor credit - All attributes that would help the consumer to make wise choices - but that might be like biting the hand that feeds you******

Dear John,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

As a hotel search and not a booking site, trivago is not involved in the booking process between the user, the online travel agent and the hotel, and therefore cannot, in any way, claim financial responsibility for the transaction process between these parties.

On trivago, users can search and compare different hotels and prices on our site. We pull information from multiple OTAs/Booking sites and display the prices together. However, once a user clicks through to ‘view deal’, they are directed to the appropriate booking site, in this case Hoteling.com, which provides that price to complete reservation and payment details. We do advise all our users to double check if the hotel to which they have been redirected matches their selection from trivago. Trivago does not set the prices or policies for the booking sites and doesn't actually have any involvement in the making of the booking.

If you have not already done so then please get in touch with us directly at info@trivago.com for further assistance with your booking issue.

Kind regards,
Trivago user support.

BEWARE TRIVAGO BUSINESS SERVICE! Auto-renew scam
We have been B&B and Hotel owners for 10 years. I our experience the key is partnership with the 3rd party companies. We were 'sold' the Business service acc on 13/1/20, we were NOT told it would automatically renew. In fact told "try it and if don't like it then that's fine". 13/1/21 It AUTO-renewed (amidst Lock-down with our sector closed), no postal reminder - just an email designed to go straight into 'junk' and not be read. When I realized I immediately responded to be told no 14 day cooling off period when it's a renewal. Reluctantly paid after 4 debt collection letters. This is deliberate mis-selling, absolutely shameful! I will never do business again. Businesses BEWARE!

I used Trivago last night for the first time. What a nightmare. First they sent me to a list of different sites who supposedly had rooms, most of whom I couldnt get the room to confirm with, and when I finally got a room reserved, it was because I CALLED the Travelocity number they showed and booked it! The challenge? The hotel Trivago said had a pool doesn't - or TECHNICALLY does, but it is out of commission due to the hotel being sold, so - my five year old daughter's day at the pool got jacked. I am on the phone with Travelocity right now seeing what I can do. I downloaded the Trivago app last night and I will be deleting it today. Keep pumping ad $ into the TV ads while you work out the kinks, Trivago. For me Trivago is spelled TURKEY.
