We have had great matches with Trusted Housitters
So far we have had 3 lots of sitters and they have all been excellent. The staff at Trusted Housesitters are also really helpful when you contact them. I have recommended their service to lot of friends.
I have found some really great pet sitters on this site. They have also been very flexible for me as well. I got stuck in Africa for 6 months (was supposed to be 1 month) during the Covid lockdown and my sitters were more than happy to stay for 5 months and I even found another sitter for the last month with no problem at all. Very happy with the quality of people on this site!
I've just completed my first TrustHouseSitters experience and it worked out great. We had two sitters who took great care of our house and our pets, communicated with us as we requested, and left the house spotlessly clean for our return. We have a second THS arrangement set up with already and are looking forward to our next vacation knowing our pets and home are under good care.
I have been using trustedhousesitters for a few years now and it has enabled me to travel the world, meet great people, explore places I might never have gone to and another plus is taking care of all the pets. I've taken care of horses, donkeys, goats, chickens, fish and of course dogs and cats. On my next assignment I'll be taking care of some crabs but I probably won't have to take them for walks. Walking the pets also is a good form of exercise. Another plus is the good vibs from the owners when they come home and the house is clean and the pets have been well taken care of. This website does a great job of meeting the needs of home and pet owners as well as the intrepid traveler.
I love the concept of meeting strangers and having them become friends. I really enjoy the variety of sits that are available to apply to and I would recommend THS to anyone who wants to help others and their pets, while exploring a new destination.
All my housesits have been great. Lovely dogs and lovely owners. I did have a problem with my subscription, but that was sorted out and a refund was given. I usually apply for housesits in the areas around where I live so that I can pop back home to check my place.
I have found two great pet sitters through this site. As a freelancer I often have to travel and the most stressful thing is leaving my pets for weeks at a time. Both sitters I found through this site have been amazing and without Trusted Housesitters I would have no way of meeting them.
I couldn't have dreamed of better care for my dog and home. This is my first experience with TrustedHouseSitters, I have already recommended it to many friends. I saved money, but most importantly our dog was happy and calm when we arrived home. I am so relieved to have found this service for my dear dog.
Ali, Tim ( dog parents) and Max and Milo ( Lovely Labs) were welcoming, kind and very gracious. The sit was in a lovely town, very walkable to the center. Stratford upon Avon is a wonderful town with lots to do from shopping to theatre.
The home is lovely and comfortable with all the amenities you would like.
Max and Milo are well behaved, friendly and very devoted.

After being written off by email from James of the member experience executive team, I ended up emailing someone in the opperations Dept. of Trustedhousesitters. I am pleased to report that that Paul, Head of Membership Services sent me an email this morning apologizing for the negative experience I had. As an act of goodwill, the company is reimbursing the annual fee, and also extending my membership for free for one year. This changes my attitude and experience of TrustedHousesitters.com. So, I can in good faith reverse my opinion and recommend Trustedhousesitters for their services. Indeed, I did otherwise have a very good experience of the service. But remember, shut off your annual auto renewal in your settings if you think you won't need the service for the following year!
I used TrustedHousesitters.com in July 2019. I had one sitter, who was very good. I had no intention of using the service for 2020, as I knew I would not be traveling. I did not know that COVID-19 would hit! My credit card was billed this July 14,2020. I did not discover the charge until August 2 at the close of my credit card statement. I contacted TrustedHousesitters immediately, and got a reply on the 4th via email.(There is no response by phone, and no ability to leave a message.).
When I did receive an email response, I was informed that there is a 14 day refund policy, therefore I was out of my $119. I discussed this further via email with James, Member Experience Executive, who reinforced that their policy was their policy, and they would not be refunding my money: " I am sorry that this is not the answer you're looking for, however, I'm afraid I cannot discuss the refund of your account further.". Member Experience Executive. Right.
Due to the present problem with Covid, I have been out of work since March. Obviously, $119 means a lot right now.
I submitted a complaint with the international Division of the Better Business Bureau, and also informed "James".
A 14-day refund policy, considering that trustedhousesitters communication roadways are very poor, is not only unreasonable and unfair practice, but unusual. Places with a subscription/online business's generally have a 30 day policy.
It is a shame, really, that for $119, this company would be willing to lose a member and the potential other members that I would be generating in the future. I have already informed my friends that use the service about this experience, and they were alarmed. They also did not know about this. Yes, there's a lot of small print these days in our modern lives. This company has ruined their reputation with me because of their small print and small policy. Trusted, definitely not.
Thank you Emma & Justin for the opportunity to look after Ned (Cocker Spaniel) Nala (The independent Cat) & five chickens, who provided us with fresh eggs every day. It was a delight to take Ned for walks especially without his lead as he was very obedient and very loveable. Nala the cat only needed us at feeding time and the chickens were very easy to look after. It was a lovely house with all the facilities and we would highly recommend this sit and hope that we have the opportunity to sit again in the near future Pat & Les
Have been a member of Trusted Housesitters for 4 years. We used it mainly in UK as we have familiy living there. It was a great find for us and worked very well. The site is easy to set up and user friendly. All our sits have been with wonderful hosts and great beautiful pets. The pets are adorable. We would recommend this site to others. It is a great way to meet people and see the world.
I'm so grateful to Trusted House Sitters. They answer all of your questions when needed. I've had 7 sitters and each one has been a 5 star. I'm looking forward to my next sitter which is coming soon. I have a Ragdoll cat and they have dog personality. The sitters have been very caring. I recommend THS all the time!
This website is something I wish I'd known about ten years ago! Have had so many unpleasant experiences every time I go away on vacation and left my house and pet to someone I had little confidence in, but had I known this website existed - I could have saved myself so much headache before planning my holidays! I had an amazing housesit for a cute little old dog and its super welcoming owners. It was really lovely to have such a good practical communication as well as such a friendly and super welcoming exchange between the dog/house owners and myself. They were super sweet to me and it was lovely to meet them as well as Bertie, who I was minding. The house and my room were impeccable and I was left feeling very free and entrusted after the instructions... which was very relaxing when you stay in someone else's home. Bertie was a sweet companion and I was very lucky to meet Marcelle, Simon and Martha as I feel we will enjoy each others company again of which I feel very lucky! Thank you!
We enjoyed our housesit in Sydney. The home owners were lovely people with a beautiful dog and we felt we were at a resort with Palm trees and a pool to look across at. It was neat and tidy and we had all the facilities in the apartment that we needed including a very comfortable bed.
We look forward to sitting here again and to other future sits.
Wow! We have used Trusted Housesitters ten times over the past five years to take care of our home and two cats, and have saved many hundreds of dollars in petsitting charges. Our housesitters have been consistently tidy, considerate, and excellent at communicating before, during, and after our trips. We always speak to housesitters by phone before making a commitment, and always meet the housesitters the day before our trip. We can't recommend Trusted Housesitters highly enough.
Trusted Housesitters auto-renewed by membership without notifying me. When I wrote and requested that they refund and cancel as I hadn't used it AT ALL, there response was that my agreement stated my membership would automatically renew. They also stated that they had sent an email to notify me of the renewal that must have been lost or went to junk mail. Hhmm, if it was in my agreement to auto-renew, why the need for the email? They only care about making money - not providing useful services to members who actually want their services. For shame!

I'm a college student travelling Europe on a limited budget. My mom actually forwarded me some information on Trusted HouseSitters and I'm so glad she did. I've had such a wonderful experience with kind hosts and amazing pets. The membership fee is so worth it, this is really a no-brainer. I'm planning my next travels around what housesits I can find!
Answer: Fees are an annual membership for both homeowner and pet sitters (approx $120). With thousands of members, I've not had any problem finding a sitter.

I am really sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your auto-renewal payment. The happiness of our members is paramount to us and we never want any member to be unhappy. I hope, however, that you can appreciate that we have to have some policies in place.
When you initially joined on the payment page it stated that this is a yearly subscription payment. The Terms and Conditions that you agreed to also stated that it was a yearly subscription service and that you could opt out of this at any time via your account settings. You also have 14 days after the payment was taken to request a full refund in writing, as long as you have not used the service in that time.
As a courtesy, we also send members emails reminding them that their auto-renewal payment will be taken. I can confirm from our email provider that they were sent to your registered email address 30, 14, 7, 3, and 1 day before your auto-renewal payment was taken.
I can see that we have been assisting you throughout with your refund request and that your account has now been refunded.
