Uber's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from a perceived lack of reliable customer service and transparency in pricing. Many customers express frustration over unexpected charges, inadequate support during issues, and poor communication from drivers and the company itself. Positive feedback is scarce, with some drivers noting satisfactory earnings and enjoyable interactions with passengers. However, the overwhelming sentiment highlights a need for improved customer care and accountability, as many users report feeling abandoned and undervalued, leading to a growing trend of customers seeking alternatives to Uber's services.

Do not do absolutely anything for this company. They're a rip off! You can accept a delivery trip for $8.25, but after you've driven 47 minutes, they're going to pay you $2.25! Civil lawsuit soon! So, yea, drive a little! I'm just saying!
I been driving and using a customer too.
For a fall report by a drunk passenger Uber put my account on hold for the whole week I wasn't able to get my money for my account and I was not able to work for the whole week so I lost the whole time. I drove absolutely 12 hours with out any issues or any problem and I picked up the super drunk customer from downtown San Francisco it's almost 2 am he was very mad and he was asking to block other cars that they were driving in street and was rolling down the window and giving middle finger to the other cars and drivers. I had tell him I am sorry I can not block the cars and he should not show finger to other cars around us because people will get mad at me and put me in danger because he was in my car but he didn't like that he got even more and he said he will make sure I should never driver Uber. So he told Uber that I was drunk when I was driving him from the bar to his house. And Uber put my account on hold for a week and sent me email saying I was drunk driving and Uber will update me. I replied to the Uber email how come I was not drunk driving the other 33 customer during my shift and I was drunk all of sudden at the end of my shift? First of all I never drink and I didn't take a break so for EXAMPLE Uber say oh you toke a break at this time and you might have drunk.
And I drover over 13,000 rides with Uber and my rating is 4.98
Well all you other cab companies please take a backseat, uber was the only cab service that was available to pick my Sister up and bring her home and they also picked up my Brother in Law who was standed on the 401. They were the only company ( not beck, not diamond, not maple leaf) that was able to go the 401 and retrieve him from his car and take him home. The police were not able to assist, CAA was not able to assist, the Hyghway Maintenance was not able to assist, 311 not able to assist, 511 not able to assist but Uber was able to do what the experts could not do.
Outside of a life and death situation, call Uber they will come through for you
The Uber website is awful. After all these years and the many $B siphoned off by corrupt executives, the Uber.com experience is much much worse than any 5 people bootstrapped startup could make. All it does is try to channel you to buy more stuff. Message to CEO #Dara Khosrowshahi: fix the basics. Try to catch up to where a high school kid with an idea could be working from his parents kitchen table. All Uber has is its online experience. I doubt they will be around in 5 years.
I recently had to deliver my auto to the shop so, while at dinner the night before my appointment I downloaded the Uber App to my Android Cell phone. It's the most awful app experience I think I've ever had. It started out with a world map displaying Africa and no instructions. So, I tried to zoom in to the pickup location. It wouldn't let me select a location. So, I went out of the app and found the location. When I came back into the app Africa was once again displayed. I pasted the location into the text area. The app immediately changed the location I had pasted in to someplace several miles away. I pasted it again and this time it took or so I thought. So, I proceeded and entered a pickup time a few minutes into the future. Then the pickup time changed to about 2 hours in the future. Frustrated I drove the vehicle to the shop as the waitress said it may work better if I were at the pickup location. So once there I tried again. Finally, I thought I had it finished so I hit Done. When I hit that the price exploded to 3 times the original quote. So at that point, I abandoned the app and found a ride elsewhere. There was never any indication a driver would be sent. Once I was home about 2 hours after I had installed the app. My phone rings and it's an uber driver. He says "you called an Uber?" I said I tried to earlier. He said, "Well you're going to be charged for the ride." I hung up and got on the computer to complain. The Uber website is much better than the App. I was able to obtain an in-store credit once I found the right sequence. But I wasn't interested in credit. I wanted a bank reversal of the charges. So, I immediately deleted my account and will never use the Uber app or call an Uber again. I'm probably liable for the 7.50 cancellation fee I was never told I would incur but was charged just because I had installed the awful Uber app. Won't make that mistake again.!
Had a Gateway Insurance ride, it was to be charged to Gateway instead it was charged to my personal App. Contacted UBER I was informed that I ordered the car nothing could be done to get a refund on the trip. [$15.25] UBER has very poor customer service, they don't care about customer/passengers. If there wasn't any passengers they would be out of business.
Uber is a ripoff. They u r a contractor drive but in actuality u are they employee they are cheapass
Uber is the worst place to work for trust me, they don't car for their workers. I had COVID and I asked them for any help because I have to be in quarantine, and what they told was weren't having any help and you won't be able to work for 10 days. Obligating people to no tell them when they have COVID and keep working… worst but worst company ever.
I scheduled a ride to the hospital for a procedure the night before my surgery. Kossi, driving a Toyota Highlander was scheduled to arrive at 06:15 AM EST with a drop off time of 06:25. The hospital is about 2 miles from my house. Kossi was 3 miles from my house when I was notified he was on his way. Instead he got a better fare to pick someone up from Dulles Airport about 25 miles from my home. Instead of picking me up on time & dropping me off on time he went out to Dulles Airport. I messaged him in the app, which said he read the text, & I called several times with no answer. He sat at Dulles for over 45 minutes before he cancelled the trip. I tried to cancel but was told I would have to pay a cancellation fee based on where Kossi was in his route to me.
Uber charges 65% more than they say they will, they ripen me off, this has happened several times. They make me wait and then charge way more than they tell me
All in all, my experience with the Uber drivers has been favorable. It's the app itself that I dislike. The algorithm racks up the rate within minutes so there is clearly price gauging going on. Then, you get hit with messages after your trip about tipping, and how drivers are talking, as if to say, if you don't tip you will not get a ride next time. Then, even after leaving a tip, the app asks if I want to leave another tip! What?
Only had 1 bad experience in Miami recently where the driver went to the wrong hotel (yes, true) and then was saying he was here. The app showed a white vehicle. He was in a black vehicle, different make. Like dude, you could have easily texted me this information!
For the second time i was charged for a ride I didn't take by uber. They won't refund. The driver cancelled the trip. I waited a long time and then had to get a cab.
The first time it happened someone stole my ride and the driver didn't verify their name.
Refused to refund my $75 after I tried to order food delivery from a neearby restaurant. App would only confirm order if I picked it up myself. When I arrived at restaurant Uber order was scheduled for pick up 1 hour later. Owners called and I spoke to representative and theyvwere to cxl and not charge. 5 calls later they are still refusing to refund my card. They provided NO service to me that evening. I paid the restaurant owner $75 as well. Now that meal was $150!'
Uber drivers were keep cancelling my rides for 4-5 times and when i was try to cancel app couldn't allow me to do the same.
And then these people have charged cancellation fee from paytm account.
They are just good in harassing the customers.
I lost my trust in them after I read their "TERMS AND CONDITIONS " back in November 2018. Quite frankly, as far as I'm concerned they'll never change because it's part of their "business model" as well as their culture. The best way to bend Uber's knees is simply by not driving for them. The more drivers quit driving for them, the more bargaining power those that do drive for Uber has. So do one of two things, either stop completely driving for them. Or cut the hours you drive for them. Especially during the time when there's a lot more calls, WHY? Because when there's a lot of people looking for a ride, and they can't find one at a cheap rate the riders will come to realize they cannot depend on Uber and they'll look for another way to get to where they're going. If not they'll just have to pay the outrageous " SURGE PRICE ". So do yourself as well as everybody else a favor. Don't drive for Uber when they really need you. Remember, a kingdom is not a kingdom without Smurfs, a responsible ruler of a kingdom is wise when he makes sure that his Smurfs are happy. Also quit referring people to drive for them because all you are doing is creating your own competition. Uber's not your competitor, it's the other driver that's your competitor, and the more competitors you create the more bargaining power Uber has over you
Worst experience, they are just Looting. I booked cab and waited for long time with small baby, uber service provider never cancelled my booking driver went other place, they dont have citrusy to call and appolige
I tryed cancell and its showing for there Mistake i shd bare the Charge, Better book Some other instead of Uber,
Uber pays less than Pizza delivery drivers making in Toronto. Pizza delivery drivers get paid 10/hr cash plus tips comes to $20+. Don't matter how many trips you make you will still make an apr. 10/hr with Uber x or delivery, after all of your car related expense.
They'll raise the prices to go anywhere during the weekend as if its a $#*!ing holiday. You might as well just call a regular $#*!ing taxi for the prices they want to charge. $#*! uber.
I hate following the prompts to receive help through the Uber app. I am often times routed to someone who doesn't even pick up the phone.
I've had the same tech issue for a year, I've never cared to write a review but I'm sooo aggravated because I actually like driving for Uber but I've had to drive for Lyft because of lack of access due to a tech glitch.
My app does not provide UberX as an option in my driving preferences after countless troubleshooting, false follow up promises, and hang ups in my face.
I believe this is because I created a duplicate account but an account specialist removed the duplicate and I still do not have access to UberX. Every time I call it's a complete run around. Please help, what else can I do I'm at a lost.
I've lost faith in this team, they are obviously not well trained, overwhelmed and lack the proper resources to actually assist. I guess I'm team Lyft.
At 10:15 AM we scheduled an UBER Pick up for 5:15 PM the same day. At 5:17 PM we checked the UBER App to see where the driver was and he was 53 minutes away. If we waited for the driver to arrive we would have missed our reservation at a busy restaurant on a Saturday night. We cancelled the ride and ordered another that came within 15 minutes. We made it to the restaurant in time. I filed a dispute with AMEX because UBER charged me a 27$ cancellation fee. They were the party at fault and I don't think I should have to pay a fee for non performance. Now I am unable to reserve a ride because they say I owe the $ 27.00. There is no phone number to call to talk to someone in Customer Service. This leaves me no choice. I will use Lyft or call a cab. I am done spending money with UBER
