Worst Health Care
September 6, 2022

When I first had Covid two years ago the emergency room took a chest X-ray to determine what type I had. They diagnosed it with Covid pneumonia with pulmonary nodules. They kept me over night to run tests and make sure everything was under control. Since then two of my doctors have requested a CT scan with and without contrast since Covid has stirred up my asthma and has become more severe. Each time I'd go to the appointment they tell me that the insurance hasn't sent them the approval. Now I'm on two very strong inhalers to help control the situation. My doctor asked why this hasn't been checked sooner and I told him that my insurance sits on it and decides if they want to approve it or not. What do you mean if you want to approve it or not? This is the most pathetic insurance company that my employer has gotten for us. Now I'm stuck ProScan services said I could got to the emergency room and they could do it without have it preauthorized I'm so angry right now I wish I could cancel this insurance. They are really really pathetic.

DO NOT TRUST THEM.
November 26, 2019

OPPS sorry I thought I had deleted a new update for this review, instead, it deleted this review. Oh well, now I'll recreate it.

Do not trust this United Healthcare. They do not care if we suffer. They do not care if we are in pain. They only care if you pay them.

I get migraines sadly a lot. The Rizatriptan pills helps so much that I don't loose work or suffer. Up until this year I could only get 12 pills a month. I could cope with that. But now I can only get 4. Yeah just 4. So suffer very much and be in pain? They have made it very clear that they could care less,... And oh I have to pay them to do this to me.

They said to contact my doctor to get him to give me more. That makes no sense at all.! 2 pills a month is not many, not many at all. So why force the doctor to add more to the 4 limit. They probably will only allow him to give me 5 pills but never 12.

BUT my doctor did contact them and they said NO. I was only to get 4 a month.

Plus I strongly strongly suspect that the 4 or 5 pills will cost what the 12 before did, about 150.

Do not trust them, they could care less about us. They really only care about us paying them to be mean to us.

Wish there were negative stars available. If my migraines take over my life. I may decide that it's time for the pain to end. Thanks, United Hate Care... United healthcare. You've made life so bad and you probably laugh all the time.

BUT you can trust Kiwi Drugs. They are in New Zealand and yes it takes a bit of time to ship the prescription BUT you can get what you need and not pay a ton of money like United healthcare wants.

United Health Care is TERRIBLE! I regret switching to this insurance company! First, I've never known an insurance company to choose a PCP (Primary Care Physician) for you. Who does that? What if I didn't want that PCP... you don't choose my doctor for me, that's my job!

Second, I received a referral from an Urgent Care facility. I followed up on the referral to an orthopedic, only to learn that United Health Care won't accept the referral because it didn't come from the my PCP (the one they chose for me) I also learned that the doctor at the Urgent Care facility is "in-network" with United Health, but because the referral didn't come from "my doctor" it couldn't be accepted. NEVER have I EVER had this problem with an insurance company.

C, I changed my PCP... you know from the one they chose for me... and after calling to let them know that I changed it, I was told that I couldn't choose the doctor (that's in-network) because he's not in my "market code." Apparently market codes identify a specific geographic region, and you have to choose a doctor within that region! WTH!? Why is that even a thing!?! Furthermore, the market code that I was listed under is in South Florida. I live in Georgia! I've never even lived in Florida! In summary, I HATE United Health Care, and it's by far the worst insurance decision I've ever made! Your policies are WACK, and your "rules, regulations and market codes" need to be seriously evaluated. Have a great day, and if you haven't already selected United Health Care as your health insurance company, please don't. You deserve better.

Worst service ever (all agents are outsourced). No one can give accurate information and they argue, talk over you and repeat the same phrase over and over. They refuse to escalate to a supervisor and no one does what they promise to do. I called the phone # on the back of my card to verify that my specialist is in network with UHC and was told by UHC that he is in fact in network, in our area.
Waited 2 months to go in for the procedure and was told by Texas Central GI that they do not accept my plan. PCP was guided to submit a "gap exception so she faxed it in. Called the specialist to make another appointment and they still do not accept UHC. We've been on this merry-go-round since December 2023 and it is now the end of March! I am so frustrated that my anxiety level is at an all time high. Google UHC reviews and complaints. I am not alone. Please do not sign up with United Health Care! They will make your life miserable and waste a lot of TIME. This is not healthy for anyone. We are canceling with UHC and choosing to go with BCBS at a lower cost and better service.

I was contacted by a United Health Care agent claiming to represent TTRS retired teacher organization. Offered to underwrite with same program my ex wife had. I asked immediately if affiliated with Well Med she said no. Confirmed same plan my ex wife had which she had been very pleased with. Said wanted to enroll. Called back 10 days later that because not the retired employee could not write TSTR plan but AARP the same was member AARP so she said write it. Called later and said could not write matching plan but did have plan could underwrite for people with diabetes. Failed to inform for patients with Chronic Care life threatening diseases. Did not explode very high deductibles only 50% hospital coverages and higher medicine deductibles. Filed complaint with United Health Care there response since sent email message with plan info on very small pica type my fault for signing and would not consider complaint. Filed complaint with Texas Ins License department they are investigating. United Health Card and Well Med mislead and cheat their insured.

Bad Insurance Company
January 19, 2021

My wife & I had insurance through UHC. At some point, UHC decided to change how they pay our providers & put us on the hook for $3500. We've switched to Blue Cross & strongly recommend you avoid UHC.

UnitedHealthCare is a disgrace and a joke in every sense. Forget whatever they self-describe themselves as, as a consumer of a good or service, I find them to be not only woefully incompetent, but they lie, have out of date data, and I cannot understand how this does not equate to FRAUD.

If you charge for a service – to provide medical resources for allegedly QUALIFIED, IN-NETWORK entities – and the database they allegedly maintain for subscribers (paying customers) has companies in it that are closed, have moved, or otherwise don't exist (primary doctors, orthopedists, radiology), how is that not FRAUD?

I even asked a call center representative to ensure a place was open and taking patients. After being on-hold for quite a while, she came back on, gave me a phone number and an address, and said they were taking new customers.

I drove to the address. The building was almost vacant and that provider was certainly no there. I called the number and could not get through the IVR to a person; it kept looping no matter what option I choose. Did the rep lie to me? I think so.

This is not a one-off as it has been happening for many years, and when you need routine care, when you need emergency services, to spend hours and hours in frustration not being able to take care of yourself or a loved one…

There is no accountability in UnitedHealthCare. Their service is essentially a sham, and I intend to take this as high as I can, especially to the Attorneys General office.
