I'm so happy with ordering through Cex. I ordered a Bluetooth speaker, it arrived quickly, well packaged, in perfect condition and half charged. I was able to take it out of the box, and use it straight away.
Bought an apple ultra watch and strap worth £580 been told by one of the team I got 48 hours to return it if I change my mind to get my money back sadly I wasn't able to to try it in the shop so went home tried it and it was too big too heavy so went back to the store straight away properly after 1 hour to be told they can't give my money back it has to credit voucher so I can use it again in the store only. Really disappointed as I was left with my family short off this money on this difficult time when I did nothing wrong. Never again and be advised people once you pay them don't expect your money back it's going to be a credit note to use only in there store.
These idiots refused to fufill an order for a pc as had a glass panel 95% of most gaming pc's cases now have glass side panels, they said they couldnt post it maybe if your a youtuber they will as they send computers to people on thete with glass side panels, and no issues idiots

Avoid at all costs if an item isn't high valued enough they are not interested , I was trying to buy a cheap pc as I have parts to upgrade it , they wouldn't sell me it claiming as they do not post items with a glass panel they have many other computers for sale with glass panels that they'll post all higher valued though ...suprise

My son wanted Disney Infinite 2 for Xbox 360 so Cex near us has 3 in stock. Guy was very friendly and got us a boxed version.
My son opened it on his birthday and tried it but it wouldn't recognise the characters. We restarted it and went through the 15 minute into gameplay again and it still wouldn't read the characters.
My son was upset but we said we'll sort it and duly went back to the shop and explained the problem. After he swapped the contents from ours with an unboxed one, I decided to check the game was in, and it was.
It was this point where my son said that the other disc was white and I realised the first person had in fact given us the game for version 1 and not 2.
At least they sorted it but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Sigh.
I bought a PS1 from them, I sold it back to them a few months later, and they said they wouldn't buy it back off me because there was some discoloration if a scart lead, one half was silver and the other half gold. Despite me buying it off then, it was still working and under their warranty. So I just let it go and gave it to a charity shop for free. They were kind enough to buy the games back, at a fraction of the price they sold them for, naturally. When dealing with them, remember this, they can and will screw you, with any feeble excuse. Shady business.

Bought a PS1 off them and sold it back to them a few months later, they refused to buy it back, their reason being that one half of the colours on an extension cable were silver and the other half gold. Shady, shady company.

I've had Cex not honour their 2 yr warranty on £225 AirPod pros. Order AL*******. Apple acknowledge the crackling is a manufacturing error and will fix. But CEX say it's earwax and told me simply to pick up my AirPods. I suspect it's because they can't go to Apple to resolve.
This is the difference between me continuing as a loyal Cex customer (I've bought various consoles and games previously and am a registered member) and never using again and use Apple / Amazon / eBay etc instead.
I will consider taking to trading standards if it can't be resolved.

Be awair went in shop to sell my mobile was told I was going to get a voucher for £85 went back to colect voucher 3 days later and now would not onner the £85 would only give me £66 this company are sharks scammers stay away
Bought a Sandisk 3D SSD from Cex for £65 in Kirkcaldy, Cex sold me a broken drive to which i later tried to return, not for a refund but to be replaced, this drive was only 48hours old, i also had the receipt. I tried everything to get the drive to work using web forums etc. They said i had broken it to which isn't true, ive installed hundreds of drives from working in IT in the past. I am now claiming through the Ombudsman to have my £65 refunded.

Make sure you purchase with Paypal as you'll get your money refunded if they get shirty with you.

Paid for Tab S3 + pen online, website claimed Tab S3 to be in stock at time of purchase, 4 days later got email No Tab S3 in Stock.
Still sending me a Tab S3 pen which is pointless because they haven't supplied the actual Tab S3 I paid for

Very disappointed at being given a B grade considering the items (2x Homepod Minis) were in excellent condition, and boxed. Due to, and I quote, 'light scuffs on the bottom' (Unfortunately Apple hasn't worked out levitation yet. And, using a dirty rag in a lame attempt to read the tiny serial number does not help). Petty and tight. Verrry slow turn around too, still waiting on payment dayyysss later. I'll be going elsewhere from now. I would highly recommend you do too. At least, check your receipt. I wish I had previously. EBay, Gumtree, GAME, Car boot, standing outside on the street with a sign is probably the better option.
I didn't even mention the slow service due to the staff being too busy discussing the best scene in Pulp Fiction. It's been 28 years! Mirroring their tech inability, it's time to move on.

We sold a phone to CEX which was in full working order, complete in box and pretty much as new. 6 months later (last month) a letter comes through from Business Loss Prevention (BPL) saying the phone we had sold to CEX had been blocked and they wanted the money back or would be going down the civil suit route. A quick email to BPL to point out that we aren't giving them a single penny unless they come back with 100% proof this was to do with US and not the person who bought the phone from them after we had sold it, and they seem to have suddenly gone away. Given that CEX check devices before buying them to make sure they aren't lost or stolen or blocked ect, this seems like some kind of scam they've got going on to try and extort money from folk.
Never sell high value devices to these people.
NEVER EVER deal with these sharks! They send out dangerous and faulty goods, goods that are nothing like the descriptions on their website, and if you complain, you can only contact a so-called "helpline" (just an email address) in India. I have reported them to Trading Standards and I hope that they will be closed down. SHAME ON YOU CEX, YOU ARE CON ARTISTS! Prospective buyers, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I was sold a Spider Man: Miles Morales PS5 copy which didn't work at all because of multiple scratches on the back of the disc. I went back in to return it, and the guy told me that, because I don't have a receipt or any proof I bought it from them, they can't return it. But the best part? The guy who SOLD it to me was standing right next to him and didn't say a word.
Another time, I bought a Switch Lite and the left analog was extremely faulty, so I wanted to trade it in for a voucher or just return it. But then another worker butted in and told me I have to wait for 2-3 weeks for them to test it, and then I need to give them a chance to fix it, and only then would they "buy" the console off me; not refund me; buy it off me for a much smaller price.
Overall, product quality is extremely inconsistent and poor, staff only get involved when it benefits them and not the customer, and it's just a waste of time shopping here.
You want a console or a new game? Just buy it off eBay or Amazon. Yeah, it'll be a bit more expensive, but at least you're guaranteed a good-quality product.

Beware I've lost a lot of money with this company compared to eBay eBay might actually be better last two weeks I had 2 iPhone XS Max with problems only was able to get a refund on one because one was blocked but the C grade 1 they sold me had a cracked screen and I didn't get any refund fact that one cost me £400 to swap in for a different one but eBay would've given back my full cost
Traded in a PlayStation 4 white console,boxed and complete with all content,was given a voucher trade in price which I was happy with,left it for testing, came back,and was told that I had been misquoted on the price,they then said that because part of the white colour on the console had faded this was why!,i was not very impressed or happy at all,I reluctantly took the voucher as I wanted to buy other items instore,I have exchanged many items with cex before but after this experience I will not use them again zand I advise others not to either!

So went next door to game and got better price
I went to Cex Newtownabbey to purchase 3 phones. I was told I had two days to return the phones If our specific apps wouldn't work, I asked if I could have an extra day as it was Friday and the people using them wouldn't get them until Monday I was told No. One extra day is not a lot to ask so I took by business elsewhere and won't be back. If I could have given 0 stars I would have.

I had been a customer of cex for over 20 years and have seen the decline in quality and customer service... but now will never purchase from them again for selling over priced PS5'S to cash in on the public... I think that from such a big company they should have a bit more professionalism and have shown thier true colours and joined the scalpers rank. Don't buy from them... tbier quality checks have deliclined... customer service dropped... and would rather shope else where. IN MY OPINION STAY AWAY!

Cancelled my online order for absolutely no reason, won't be using these cowboys ever again. This isn't the first time i've been disappointed using these.
Orderd 2 items offline when both came totaly wrong items sent then when you go contact someone you find there is no phone no to ring so you have to use there web based messaging system only to be told it takes up to 2 days to get a response so you decide to take bake to the norwich store to talked to like you dont know what you have bought im pretty sure i knew more than him at the time as he was just looking at the pictures not checking the code on the item then got told you have to wait for the items to be testerd even though that you got them the same day and you not even used them so not prepaired to wait only to find out when i got home that they had not gave one of my items good way to make money send you wrong items and then keep one of the items without a refund good way to make a profit avoid them as they surely dont have the staff to know what they are doing

I got an empty box from them no game or invoice really annoying never ever order from them again online it's been nicked or no one packed avoid at all costs because I would now just a flat empty box
