Verizon has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,029 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Verizon most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and next day problems. Verizon ranks 164th among Mobile Carriers sites.
VW website is very good, although like many sites is too packed with stuff which makes it confusing to find what you want. As for their service, it is superior. I left VW after 15 years to go to Sprint. OMG! I was miserable. Screw Sprints $69 for everything! VW may be expensive, their taxes and fees tack on $20+ to an average bill but its worth it! I'm sticking with Verizon Wireless.
I agree 100 percent. Verizon overcharged and fraudulently charged hidden fees. The bill is never the same and continuously goes up in price. Offers promotions, gets you in, then bang you don't get what's promised. They'll have a different account representative call you, get you in, then suddenly you can't contact your "account representative " ever again.
They took money out of our account 2 times in a month and there customer service stinks and lies I am going to the bank and dispute the 2 nd charge
To: Verizon Wireless Executive Relations (CASE *******)
In response to the above-mentioned case and shared with the BBB (complaint #*******), I will again correct you on the term of contract being one month, not one year.
Your legal response for continuing to bill me for the line is in the Customer Agreement, "Once you've completed your contract term, you'll automatically become a customer on a month-to-month basis for that line of Service." If a customer no longer needs a line, they must contact Verizon to process any disconnection or termination transactions."
My purchase order: Mobile no: *******908
Contract term: 1 month
Your customer agreement is an 8-page micro print agreement, where I can find the word "automatically become a month-to-month basis for that line of service". Considering the top of my purchase order stated a one-month term, I should have known to read the fine print where you let me know it is actually an automatic month to month contract? Seems a bit deceptive to me.
Next, we have got, "If a customer no longer needs a line, they must contact Verizon to process any disconnection or termination transactions." I never needed a second phone line, it was set up by you as a promotion to sell a phone, you made up a phone number that would never be used or needed. Check the usage data, there was no messaging, no data used, no talk, and no text. But yet, I was expected to contact you to terminate what I was led to believe was a one-month contract?
The fact that you see no problem with billing someone for years of access fees, surcharges and taxes on a line set up to sell a phone and not for use because of the fine print in your customer agreement tells me this may be common practice and most likely there are probably many others out there like me. It would be interesting to see a report on how many lines there are with automatic month-to-month "contracts" with zero usage data, paying years of access fees, like me. Seems a bit fraudulent, but profitable.
It is obvious at this point you have no intention of making it right after numerous offers of insulting "credit" amounts, so seems the best I can do is make others aware and warn them of the deception and fraud you legally get away with.
They steal money from your bank account and make so many mistakes that you have to pay for. DO NOT COME TO VERIZON PLEASE. I PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT. I turned 2 phones in to get a SO CALLED PROMO and a whole year later they overdraft my account almost $600 plus almost my $300 phone bill for the phones because. WELL THEY CAN'T EXPLAIN IT TO US. THEY SAID THE COMPUTER HAD A GLITCH but they won't give us the money back and want to give us CREDIT but i have also been charged $35 a day my account was over drafted by Verizon that lead up to us paying another $200 to my bank so i filled a fraud case with my back since they couldn't explain why they Took that money and the back returned us $524 back to our account so now Verizon is threatening to turn our phones off of we don't pay next months bill in advance witch we should have to pay it in advance but they have no explanation to why any of this is happening. They are scammers. Please don't come to Verizon. I hate to have to leave this review but we have been trying to just get our money and a explanation but they can't do that. My family lawyer said i have a case so i rather pay my lawyer to prove to Verizon that they can't get away with this. I am not the only one they do this to. I have screenshots of other ppl they have done this to

Horrible service, unprofessional, rude, and liars representatives, no 5G service in most areas. Stay away from Verizon!
No one can help you. Hard to get anyone on the phone and when you do they either transfer yoh or drop the call. Do not waste your time
Never activated service after a "quality line check" done and speed was sub-par. Still billed hundreds

30 yr customer & flip phone user. In April Vz discontinued 3G in my area. No notice to me or support staff. Full month of poor service til I found out.
Problems misrepresentations, purposeful dishonesty followed. While on
the line w. Wife's T Moble to change I called Vz & ssked for Cancellation pin. Was told that none was needed, Vz allowed transfer. T Mob tried & failed to get release from Vz, 3 TIMES. Now a couple months later. Still trying to deal with overcharges (never actually recieved a bil by mail or email) I was told that was untrue, the PIN is Always needed. He got me a PIN. Vz sent a text for me to confirm the PIN. Each time there was an "Error on the Page. For a communication Co they make it, purposely very difficult & frustrating to contact real support. Management seems to care only about their multi million $$ paychecks & value of their own stock. None of all the problems I; ve had with them & hours & hours getting jerked on the phone should have happened. Fixes could be EZ if these greedy, thoughtless creeps cared about customers.
Tip for consumers:
Material facts will be misrepresented to you. You may be over charged. While the front line support folks try to be helpful & diligent, Vz policy negates their work. You feel treated very poorly. yoyr day will be ruined.

Verizon Wireless phone service
Always had Verizon but now it sucks, I'm having issues with my phone service and my phone, something is wrong with my phone my phone service is sucking and I go to the stores and every time it's the same thing, they won't help, won't look at the phone just 2 bad, bye&i have to fake being nice when really I'm pissed off, I'm sick and dealing with bs&my accounts getting hacked into&i don't trust Verizon, it says my service provider get see everything I do, dns leak, Verizon, Verizon media, I don't want them watching everything I do on my phone service, it says every website I visit they can see, why can't Verizon help me out at all by telling me what's going on with the phone, I can't even see the account on my phone cause my phone is messed up and have no clue if it shows something, Verizon service sucks or something is going on with my phone and the people at the store def suck so I guess I'll sit here hoping I get my calls and text n I can at least go to some websites, I'm paying to barely use my phone, awesome
The services provided by them is nice but I must have to say that the prices are on the higher side.
You can never reach a human. The automated service doesn't listen, then hangs up on you. Terrible customer service.

Wireless services started to die and they're stuck in 4G
Recently I thought I would give Verizon a try and boy was that a mistake. The service is absolutely horrible. You can never get 5G ultra wideband hardly ever no matter how much you pay and no matter what plan you're on. Even some of the discount cell carriers have better service than Verizon and to top it off, their website doesn't work, the app doesn't work, and I cannot get into anything to even get a port pin and when I finally get somebody in India they always lie and say they're going to call me back on such and such day for either a refund which never happened or to help me set up my account which never happened or to give me a port pin which also never happened. Verizon has become nothing more than a completely worthless criminal ripoff enterprise. Their business plan is to focus on dumbed down and extremely annoying polished glossy marketing campaigns while they steal your money. Then I'm told that I can't set up an account until I've had service for at least 30 days but that was another lie. It's been 33 days now and it still doesn't recognize half of the information that's in my account. However, their system sure had no problem recognizing who I am and my number when it came time to extort money from me. If you do the research you will see that Verizon has the highest churn rate of any of the major carriers. For those that don't know what churn means it means that people that are leaving Verizon and going elsewhere. Don't waste your money and save yourself a tremendous amount of stress anger and anguish by not having anything at all whatsoever to do with Verizon or it's subsidiaries. I have never in my entire life dealt with a more horrible, crooked, and dishonest company then verizon. And at 58, that saying something. Do your research and read as many reviews as you possibly can relating to the carrier you were thinking about getting cell service from. All they really provide is 4G LTE to most everyone. I have one of the best phones you can purchase and I am in according to multiple sources in an excellent area for 5G ultra wide but I don't even get 5G from Verizon here or anywhere else I go which is a lot of different places.
They lie to you about the discounts and offers... The over charges... I was 8 years with t mobile and i change to them was the worst decision ever... DON'T DO IT... DON'T GET THIS COMPANY
Went in to two Bakersfield stores to purchase a new iPad and two new phones. We have been customers with four lines for over ten years. When asked about any promotions the guy had no ideas he said " yea you might want to check on line" omg I'm in the store and wanted to hear about any great plans by an actual human. The guy helped me get an iPad with no promotion. In the middle of our purchase he called out to his partner and said " Hey can you take over I need to go to lunch" His partner said no I'm doing something and I'll return fast and I'll relieve you " we then continued our purchase when nearly done here comes his partner and took over. Omg as the guy left he didn't say sorry thank you or a word. Next we went to another store on Ming ave. This gal basically did the same " check on line for any promotions I really don't know. " We asked her about the purchase of a iPhone 12 come with a charger and she said, " Um I think it comes with the little whatchamacallit that goes in the wall but not the cord I think" " but check on line for any phone promotions" Getting a bit frustrated for answers and actual help. We started to ask for a manager. Just then we looked at her badge and it said MANAGER. So sad Verizon feels they don't have to hire quality people anymore. You know some people still don't feel comfortable on computers. I'm 58 and I am okay but still old fashion and like the human personal connection and comfort. We still haven't got our new phones but plan on purchasing them soon. Once we have time to research the promotions on the web. Just sad we don't get the human connection with great attitudes and kindness. Why do they have these stores opened in the first place. They are being paid for what.
Verizon brings a whole new meaning to FUBAR. I sincerely regret ever doing business with them. It all started with them billing me double the monthly rate that they quoted me upfront For two phone lines, and refused to honor their quote. I have tried for two months to get a Settlement with them on two I11 phones that I sent them as part of the trade in deal. When I the deal failed, I returned their phones to them with the stipulated time period, and I have been trying for two months to get a settlement from them on my two phones that I sent them. They can't return my phones. Their system doesn't allow for any exceptions. Contacting a supervisor is absolutely worthless. I tried that. I have spent at least 50 hours in contact with at least 25 Verizon reps and still haven't been able to settle with them. I have been lied to repeatedly by their people regarding this matter. I have been promised payoffs from at least six of their reps. Every time it has been a lie. I absolutely refuse to just give them my old phones, and I also absolutely refuse to do business with liars. I was promised shipment of two replacement phones if I paid an upgrade fee is $299.99 as a payoff. The payoffs was for the cost difference between their original trade in offer of $800.00 each for my old -11 phones. I repeatedly agreed to it, also. Agreed to several other payoffs that never happened. A blatant lie every time. Until I get an equitable settlement for my phones, they can shove their bills up their butt. I'm still trying to get a payoff, but Since i currently have two of their phones in my possession, they are not in a great position to debate it. I'll toss them in the trash before I return them to Verizon. Either I get an equitable settlement or they get the absolutely nothing for them. Just that simple.
If you still elect to do business with these a- -holes then you deserve the service that you are going to get.

These people really suck! Fubar beyond belief.

VERIZON WIRELESS is the worst customer service I have encountered in many years. I have been their customer for more than 18 years and whenever there is a problem, I get dispatched to a CSR in another country and they are never able to solve problems. They will promise that things are fixed just to get you to hang up. I upgraded 4 phones and was supposed to receive $800 credit for each phone but for 4 months now, I call every time they bill me without that credit and they keep me on the line for about an hour but they never fix anything.
I called today and after 15 minutes with the first operator, she dispatched me to a sales supervisor named KIMBERLY who asked a couple of questions then dispatched me to another CSR named JOMS who was very rude and refused to get me a supervisor no matter how much I asked and after being on the phone for 54 minutes, he hung up the line.
Extremely angry that I have been with Verizon for more than 18 years paying a lot of money for the service then I get treated with no decency. Where are the CEO and MANAGERS and why are they allowing for such a horrible customer service. Every call is logged and recorded and they know exactly who is a bad CSR and who is hanging up on the customers. PLEASE do something about the horrible customer service. My problem is still unresolved.
How do they get away with increase, they are disgusting!
It is such a monopoly. So done with Corp crooks!
I was told when I signed up with Verizon I would get 3 gift cards totally $600 for porting over my 3 numbers from Comcast. I was also told I would receive $150 as a sign on bonus. I was supposed to receive this within 4 to 6 weeks. After 6 weeks I called they said you need to submit the rebate. Which I did. I still had not received anything within 3 weeks. I called back I got a good customer service person at that time. She credited my account for the $150 sign on bonus. She also had 1 of the rebate cards sent to me. Rebate center did not send the other 2. I contacted the rebate center. They told me I was given false information by sales person I qualified for only $150 for each rebate not the $200 I was told by the sales person. Of course I did not accept and contacted Verizon due to the deception. I sat on the phone for 4 hrs. I was hung up on and got disconnected several times being transferred. I finally spoke with someone that said she would override the the situation and I would receive the rebate I was initially was told. 2 weeks no rebate I called back spoke to a supervisor that wanted to only credit my account for $150 on the 2 rebates. I was totally mad at that point. I told her that was the worst deal I had gotten from the deception I was told in the first place. I ask to be transferred to the rebate center. She remained on the line and totally attempted to sabotage to make the situation to what she wanted to do to start with. She was very unprofessional and interrupted. I guess thats why she has her position. I received nothing and I will never recommend verizon to anyone. No only do they have unprofessional supervisors. They also have deceptive sales people. I believe these sales people are hired at minimum wage with very little training. I forgot to mention the phone conversation was not recorded until the supervisor put the rebate center on the line which she made herself look like she was right and I was totally wrong.
They are so thief stupid they charge you phone insurance but they don't do nothing to cover I don't want stay with them anymore
I think you can get some special phones here, the ones that you cant get anywhere else. Meaning specs
Simply trying to set up auto pay... you never get to talk to an agent... piss poor customer service.
Traded in old phone for new, had to go off plan and get new. Lost all money on trade in and have to pay full price for new phone.
