Verizon has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,029 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Verizon most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and next day problems. Verizon ranks 164th among Mobile Carriers sites.
VW website is very good, although like many sites is too packed with stuff which makes it confusing to find what you want. As for their service, it is superior. I left VW after 15 years to go to Sprint. OMG! I was miserable. Screw Sprints $69 for everything! VW may be expensive, their taxes and fees tack on $20+ to an average bill but its worth it! I'm sticking with Verizon Wireless.
I agree 100 percent. Verizon overcharged and fraudulently charged hidden fees. The bill is never the same and continuously goes up in price. Offers promotions, gets you in, then bang you don't get what's promised. They'll have a different account representative call you, get you in, then suddenly you can't contact your "account representative " ever again.
The only reason I switched from US Cell to Verizon was because of coverage. What a mistake! While Verizon has country wide coverage, (US Cell coverage is limited to the middle of the country), their service is horrible. What's the use of having a smart phone if they are constantly "throttling" your internet capacity? I've had it with this horrible company. Going to buried fiber for my home internet and back to US Cell for my phone service. Verizon is so bad I don't even think the government could screw it up more if they were to take it over. Why doesn't the BBB step in and do something about them?
If you need to talk to a real human at Verizon, get connected to their Sales Dept. This takes one minute, compared to the average 45 minutes of waiting on the phone, waiting for a call-back appointment (yes - they ask you to make an appointment!), or even just waiting to chat. Apparently, they care more about selling their brand than taking care of those who've already bought into their brand. If the sales Dept can't help you they will transfer you to their "Care Team".
I've been with Verizon, literally from the beginning when they took over Airtouch. Their service used to be worth paying extra for but, hey, love doesn't always last forever.
I'm leaving and I'm not waving goodbye.
%*#@!
Tip for consumers:
If the chat representative senses your agitation at his rudeness, you’ll get locked out of your account. Frequently. And he might also make sure that, after you wait on hold for an hour and twenty mins, you get hung up on as well.
I wish I could click negative. This is the absolute worst service. Their customer service is horrible. Their websites and apps are even worse. No Preferences stay saved. They constantly ask for new passwords, over and over again and when you call them you get put on hold for someone who doesn't even help you.
I just purchased a new phone from Verizon. My reception is terrible and calls drop multiple times daily now. This wasn't an issue before. I called to get tech support last night and was on the phone for over an hour. Nothing was fixed, and the last time my call dropped while talking to Verizon, they didn't call back. My whole family may need to switch services. Who do you recommend?
Yes, they are higher than the rest, but the customer service is 2nd to none. Phone came by the next day. Packaged very well, and they helped me set it up. Quality phones, just wish the prices were better.
-minus 10. Costumer service is promising solutions, credits etc but can not send confirmation or share any notes in writing because "the system does not allow". Of course the solutions and credits never happen and when asked if they can listen to the recorder calls they claim they are not saved. Four customer service employees did the sam thing. They are trained to to this. It's insane, I hope someone will go after them so they get stopped!
After 7 years of business, given to them, I'm leaving soon. Their customer service has gone way down, and they are terribly insensitive. After setting up a promise to pay, by a certain date, I was harassed, and threatened with service interruption. During a bereavement time, they are very insensitive.
Tip for consumers:
When you've paid a company thousands of dollars, over several years, and they harass and threaten you, it's not a good feeling.

They have decent service but their plans are way to overpriced and some of their employees aren't well informed. My dad and I have a plan (unlimited talk and text, limited data) and we were told that it would be about $100 total for a month. Our monthly bill is around $160 to $180. That's way too much for only two people, especially considering that we have limited data and we barely use any of it. We would switch but we live in a rural area so it's basically the only service we can get out here and I guess we'll have to deal with it.
I understand if I use to much data my service speeds are lowered during peak however however doesnt Verizon think it's unacceptable to slow your customers down to the point that they can't look up directions or send a text message. Don't sign up for this company most expensive with the slowest most useless speeds.
I nought a new phone from the store on Indiantown Road in Jupiter, FL. Danny is the representative who helped me. He was fantastic; deserves 5 stars. Any road block we ran into he was able to get through. I give him kudos and I hope his boss recognizes what a valuable employee Verizon has in Danny.

I've been a Verizon customer for a number of years, because it seems to be the only carrier that I can get decent signal from at my house. Writing this good review based on my latest experience of upgrading my phone at the Verizon Store in Highland Park, IL. I got a much better rate than before and the person helping me was great in helping me pick the right plan and phone. And it took a fraction of the time to set up, versus the 2 hours it took the last time.
Customer service is really bad once you are off contract, and pressure is so strong when you are on contract. I am dealing with them now because they unilaterally changed the due date on ALL wireless accounts earlier in the month. I used to make payment arrangements which gives a 14 day window for payment. Now that the date is moved up, I cannot get the arrangements to work for my limited government payment I get only on the 1st of each month. I have been balancing things since the change, paying a bit more as I can, but they are pressuring me now because my contract ended in March. I am looking at TMobile which may have a different set of problems, but I cannot reward Verizon when I can get a better monthly plan with the same phones for $60 a month LESS than Verizon. Wake up, Verizon, the giant has been sleeping too long in customer service and accommodation.
Tip for consumers:
Be sure to SHOP around for deals, quality, and service. Verizon is NOT the best, no matter what the awards say. They don't take into account normal people like me
If they get your payment through the mail one day late they start threatening you with suspension.
They did this during the early days of cv19 even.
I have a great credit history and these people are scumbags.
Seriously. I have only been with them 30 years. The party is over.
Representative said I could transfer from one carrier to Verizon and get a new iPhone 15. So far 8 hours spent on phone with customer service 2 store visits, a cancellation of my previous provider and no new iPhone. Couldn't connect my old phone to account and still without a phone to use on a line that is already on my bill. Customer service and supervisors have been no help at all. Issue still not resolved. Can't even go back to my old carrier with my phone number. Worst experience ever
Tip for consumers:
The only thing they accomplished was taking my phone number from metro and canceling my service through metro. But my bill is $180 more without a phone

Their service has become poor. 5 years ago I used to get service everywhere, now my calls get dropped regularly when I am sitting in my apartment. Family members of mine have the same issue and they live in another state! I cannot conduct business over the phone anymore as I am constantly afraid that my calls will get dropped. Will have to switch to another carrier so I don't keep dropping calls and losing money!
Last month went to Verizon and set up a prepaid account for unlimited high speed data and a phone. After discounts they said it would cost me $55 a month plus tax. So I authorized automatic monthly withdrawals to pay the future charges. After the first automatic payment was made, I found that they had downgraded my plan without notifying or contacting me to the $30 plan and reduced my high-speed data to 1/2 GB per month, and my hot spot stopped working correctly. When I called them they said they wanted another $40 a month in order to give me the same service that they initially agree upon. What really hurts is that the process took many hours of my time which is precious. If you need to contact customer service allocate 2-4 hours. I would not recommend verzion to anyone if you have a viable alternative.
Verizon's service is decent but WAY overpriced! Their website is both slow and confusing. If you want to do anything other than get a general overview or pay your bill, you will need to take a Tylenol for the pain that will come to your butt. I'm on the unlimited talk/data plan and wanted to use the "usage analysis" feature to see which plan would best fit my usage - guess they don't offer that service to unlimited customers. For the high cost of service, this is a disappointing web site.
I've been receiving a lot of drop calls and I unable to text out. This service provider is the worst I have a business account and my phone loses service when I'm talking to a potential client, I've lost business because of the inadequate service. And they still want payment

I cancelled service on 5 lines only 3 days into my billing cycle and was only credited $43 out of $280 bill. So I had to pay $237 for 3 days service! What a ripoff. Go with Spectrum, only $29.99 per line ( no extra fees or taxes)
If I could give 0 stars I would. Verizon unfortunately has a monopoly in my area soon am stuck with it. The reception is terrible. I have calls drop when I am in sight of a tower. The internet service is horrible and doesn't work half of the time. 10 out of 10 don't recommend. The service was better 10 years ago when we had 3G. I more often want to throw my phone down and smash it and get a land line. What's the point of even having cellular data of you can't even pull anything up? It is incredibly expensive for the service to be so terrible. Absolutely worthless.
For being the most expensive wireless company on the planet, they provide zero customer service or support. Every time you try to call them you are prompted to text a computer service that doesn't work and then it hangs up on you. Verizon get your $#*! together and provide actual customer service.
Hours and mins of wasted time on the phone resolving nothing. Service has become worse in our area. I've been a customer for over 18 years and don't like change but time has come to say Good Bye!
Traveled to WA and was charged 5$ Per day on both phones on our account because we were connected to a tower in Canada. International charges for traveling to Port Angeles WA. 4 hours lost thus far trying to stop these fraudulent charges.
I was changing my device online and it required a change of plan which I did. The system asked for funds and then later said my account was cancelled even though this was auto pay and I put through additional funds for the prepaid account. I used the live chat twice and was waiting for a horrendous amount of time and received no help what so ever. If this is customer service, then Verizon should shut their doors and go out of business.
My internet went down at 9am. I called 12 times. Was hung up on twice. Still no internet. Now that I work from home this type of service is interrupting my work performance. Ridiculous! Do not get Verizon
