Verizon has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,029 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Verizon most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and next day problems. Verizon ranks 164th among Mobile Carriers sites.
VW website is very good, although like many sites is too packed with stuff which makes it confusing to find what you want. As for their service, it is superior. I left VW after 15 years to go to Sprint. OMG! I was miserable. Screw Sprints $69 for everything! VW may be expensive, their taxes and fees tack on $20+ to an average bill but its worth it! I'm sticking with Verizon Wireless.
I agree 100 percent. Verizon overcharged and fraudulently charged hidden fees. The bill is never the same and continuously goes up in price. Offers promotions, gets you in, then bang you don't get what's promised. They'll have a different account representative call you, get you in, then suddenly you can't contact your "account representative " ever again.
Thank you so much for always helping me and explaining everything you need too know about what your getting or even when I pop in to ask a question you always help me and I truly appreciate that and your so extremely smart when it comes too your job you sure know what you are doing can't thank you enough sign Nancy
Verizon is without a doubt the WORST, most ineffective company I have ever dealt with. I just moved my business to my home.
In order to keep my Verizon phone number and email, I switched my home from Comcast. ( 1) the phone number that was supposed to be my land line is nowhere to me found - when people call my office number now it's "disconnected" (2) somehow they made my mobile number my land line - so, while wireless says I still have my number and I can make calls from my iPhone - if someone calls my mobile it rings in my house.
Really helpful when I'm on the road. I have spent HOURS on th phone and received ZERO help. I'm giving this 24hours and then I'm going back to Comcast ( with 5 flat screen boxes)
Switched from AT&T to Verizon Wireless. I am glad I did. The LTE network is very fast. I get LTE in more places. I get LTE network where I didn't get AT&T LTE network. I also love it that I can make phone calls in more places. The one thing I don't like is that I can't do calling over Wifi which my cell phone can do it. Every time I ask someone a Verizon Wireless store about this problem and when will it become available. No one there can help me. WTF. They should know this kind of stuff.
I called to verify how deep the lines are suppose to be dug into the ground and have received several answers. The 1st call to Verizon stated 1.5ft to 2ft deep. I then received after I had issues with gardening very shallow 5inches, that its only a few inches deep. Every where I look about line depth should be feet deep not inches. 5-6 inches for residential isn't deep enough for gardening etc. Please have the Maryland employees put the wires the proper depth. Bill from Syracuse NY Escalation team department stated 3-6inches is Verizon regulation. Now I have 3 different answers.
Customer service isn't what it used to be. Was told my grandsons phone was broken on inside the reason it wouldn't charge or stay on.
Took it to batteries plus. Amazing what a new battery did!
Also asked rep to look up my acct and tell me what I had going on with my acct.
He told me to get my grandson to look it up for me.
Said thank u.
As soon as I get this phone paid for, bye bye Verizon.
Never had such horrible customer service.
Had Spectrum for a few years, I had constant downtime, would get kicked off the Internet, have outages on the regular and suffer through super slow wi-fi. Even hardwired via ethernet was slow at their max level.
Then I switched to Fios. I haven't had one interruption. Wired I'm over 900 mbps upload and download! And over 600 with wifi.
Get Fios, it's worth every penny.

Get it!

I wanted to get another moto g pure phone to replace broken phone the store in Rincon Georgia kept trying to buy a more expensive phone they have a sign that they will give you what you want they have just lost a 5 year customer I will definitely look for a better phone service and get a moto g pure phone
Wife got new 5G phone 2 months ago and wasn't getting any calls, text or video calls called after first month spent hour on phone with Verizon said thay fix it. Also had problem with orbic jet pack. Two days later same issue with phone. Call them two days ago RIP $#*!ting mad threatening to go to small claims court. All of a sudden they find out her Sim card is out of date. They overnight me a new one and said all I have to do is put it in and it will work. Ya didn't happen had to call and spend another hour on phone to have it activated. I asked about a credit for the month the cell didn't work They said I got one for last month. No $#*! cause phone didn't work and another month went by so I should get another credit. Verizon is crap and there pushing 5g in areas that have no 5g. I guess I'm going to go to small claims after all. Good luck with these scammers
Was disappointed at first but Jontil came through and helped me with my issues with Verizon. I originally gave one star. But Jontil was great. He was much better than the store manager. I asked the store manager for corporates phone number and he said it was "1-800-googleit" and hung up on me.

Had to go back to ATT since my daughter could not get service where she worked and wasn't receiving text messages.
I have a simple request - to cancel my discovery+ subscription before it renews at my expense. I have tried to do this multiple times from the app and the Verizon website. The discovery+ website directs me to Verizon. The Verizon website directs me all around itself over and over, and I have had to log in about five or six times in about five minutes. The website has no idea what it's supposed to be doing. Their chat support wasted another ten minutes by ultimately telling me they couldn't do it and to call 1-800-VERIZON. When I call 1-800-VERIZON, they ask for a Verizon wireless mobile number. I do not have Verizon wireless! For Fios service, they asked my zip code. When I provided my zip code, they said "we are no longer the service provider for this account or this area" and hung up on me when I tried to speak with an operator. This has been an extremely frustrating experience and makes me no want to use them anymore.

After the technician (in title) upgraded our cable box, our house phones were flashing "line in use". Stupidly, I had no clue what that meant - it literally indicated we had no phone service! I found this out, when trying to fix it. Thus my call to Verizon customer service - and you have to go into a chat room to figure out how to talk to a real person.
After navigating "the phone tree from he!", I finally got connected to a nice man in India.
No sooner than I had explained the problem to him than loud Verizon music and advertising blotted out his voice - I could barely hear him. He disconnected.
Back through the whole thing again. This time, the woman was dictatorial and rules-oriented to the point of insanity. After reading me the regulations twice, for sending a repairman to our home, and I had agreed both times - she then wanted me to read it via a text message "so that we could discuss it"! I was angry then and told her no, and reminded her the line was recorded. They have my verbal agreement.
Lastly, she said it would cost $99 and possibly more, to which I responded "Let's see what's wrong first. If the repairman caused it, we are not paying".
30 hours on multiple chatlines with a dozen Verizon "sales persons" to attempt a phone upgrade. 30 days later, multiple charges for services they wanted to sell me, and still I don't have a phone. The phones they sent were to a wrong address, my credit card was being charged everytime I called, and now I can't even follow the thread of charges. I have to cancel the account I've had for over a decade and afterwards I will cancel my Verizon contract at my 2000+ person company, which can't even help with my transition. If you have any desire for the peaceful lives we all had before the used car contracts and upselling in the megaverse-phone game, get yourself as far from Verizon as you can……. Buy a MintMobile contract for 5g unlimited data / $30 per month and you will finally have no need for pain killers when you call customer service.

Any other wireless company would be much better

Verizon gave me the wrong Set-Top Box so when I took it back to exchange it for the correct Set-Top Box I packed up the Set-Top Box nicely in the original cardboard box. I gave it to the Verizon employee and he told me we can take the Set-Top Box back but we cannot take the cardboard box it came in. I said, "This is what you gave me. It was the wrong thing and I'm giving you it back along with YOUR carboard box." He said, "It is company policy not to take back the cardboard box. "You have to take it home and throw it out. I will not give you credit for the return." Even though I returned the equipment he would not give me credit because I would not throw out his garbage! What kind of company is this that requires their customers to throw out their garbage? I'm switching to Comcast!
My hobby is to catch new gadgets from markets. VerizonWireless is the good site to know the details of new arrivals of phone and new technologies. My next challenge is to buy a new I phone from online. In VerizonWireless have mension new phone details. Main advantage of this site is comparison of mobiles with features, prices etc.
They placed an order with my gift card and debit card. I never received the item and nobody knows what happened. It is a total scam. I do not recommend anybody

So after hours of tech "support", I am in a foriegn country needing help and unable to use my phone. Following instructions from Sarah to reset my network settings made my problems worse. Following instructions from Andy at texting tech support, who told me to turn off automatic selection of mobil providers and select the one with the best signal got me barred from dialing any number for heaven knows how long. He told me to restart my phone knowing I would lose my connection, but he promised to wait. He did not, and after all afternoon of customer "support", I am worse off then before. THANKS A LOT VERIZON!

Salesman told me that if we switched to Verizon from T-Mobile, got the 13 pro, Apple Watch series 7, and you received free Powerbeats pros, and up to $800 to cover the switching fees. T-Mobile waived the cancellation fee, and the device was paid off. The salesman said that we'd still get at minimum $500 for switching to Verizon. 3 months later, they denied EVERYTHING that the salesman had said. No headphones, no visa gift card for switching. All I got is a $400 phone bill compared to the $200 T-Mobile bill.
The best part is that T-Mobile has a better network. I've had more dropped calls on Verizon than I've ever had on T-Mobile
4 stars for quality because they are Apple products and Thankfully Verizon didn't build the devices.
Tip for consumers:
Go with ANYONE else but Verizon.

We were informed by sales person that we qualified for a $350 rebate for BYOD, as well as $200 for purchasing a smartphone on another line. We kept the numbers we had with carrier we switched from but I just informed from rebate center representative that the $350 rebate never existed so it was only $200 but we weren't eligible for that rebate for unknown reason. The requirements for the smartphone purchase had changed to a minimum purchase amount that we didn't meet. Rebate rep said to contact sales person to try and settle the issue.
Along with that frustration the first bill was approx $50 over what was anticipated and 2nd bill was also more than expected. Our bill had charges for services we didn't sign up for so a customer services rep removed those charges and said they are automatically set up upon activation. Had we known all this was going to happen it would have been far better to have purchased a phone and stayed with carrier we left since service is more $50 a month.
I have been a faithful Verizon customer for many years, I not only have the wireless service, but I also have the Home FIOS package. Much to my dismay Verizon's quality in products and services has dramatically declined in the last three years. Several of my colleagues have switched from Verizon to T-Mobile, which is something I would've never imagined considering in a million years. Verizon's customer service has always been a nightmare to deal with and has gotten so much worse that I don't even want to make a call…I highly recommend looking elsewhere for cellular phone and home Internet service.
Tip for consumers:
One thing to note about the FiOS package, if you start out with three cable boxes and reduce it to one your bill does not even change, even though they charge you for each cable box, which makes no sense. I have made a couple of changes over the years and have regretted it every time.

The store agent sold me an insurance plan - cost our business almost $50 per month to replace any of our business phones with a new phone - for ANY reason. We had a phone that stopped working correctly and we sent it in per the direction of the on site store rep. They returned us a REFURBISHED phone - not a new one. Then charged us $381 saying there was a small crack in the screen. It took us several months and many phone calls to get that charge off of our bill - incurring late charges that are still not off! The holiday mail is extremely slow - and they did not receive my payment yet this month - only 5 days late and threatened to turn off my service. VERY disgusted with this service to our business account of 7 phones and 2 tablets - been an excellent customer for over 7 years. DO NOT BUY THEIR INSURANCE!
Be ware, lively/jitterbug is a Verizon product and so is just as horrible as Verizon! I bought a lively phone for my mom for Christmas and when I went to pay the bill in January, they tried double charging me so I canceled! Keep in mind that lively is a prepaid service but they tried to charge me for January even though they didn't give me service for January so and tried saying that I still needed to pay for December! I paid for December in December! We all know that they would not have given me service in December if I didn't pay for December! Lively/jitterbug/Verizon are crooks!

Lively/jitterbug is a Verizon product so they are just as bad!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS with Verizon. I was with them for 3 years and never experienced worse customer service ever
This includes their store and corporate office. I finally had enough so I switched carriers. The very day I switched Verizon sent me to collections. I called Verizon and my final bill wasn't even sent out and the collection notice was a mistake. I got on a 3 way call with the collection agency and Verizon and neither party knew what to do. I'm still battling this ongoing nightmare just for leaving Verizon.
Where to begin? Verizon landline has been down for two weeks. Can't get in touch with a live person. Recording tells me to go outside and remove gray box and troubleshot myself. Decide I need to get my uncle a cell phone but he doesn't remember the PIN. Call Verizon Customer Service and wait 1:24 before it is answered and then rep hangs up on me. I download the app, but to get a PIN Verizon has to call/text the inoperative phone, so no go. I make a 2:00pm Appt for a call back and as of 2:45 nothing but crickets. For the love of God, I just need a porting PIN number so I can keep my uncle's number and put him on my cell plan. Hello Verizon, making the few people that can't solve their problem online wait over an hour for customer support is unforgivable. We are done with Verizon FOREVER!
Tip for consumers:
Verizon doesn't support their aging land line system. Time to get our parents a smart phone and ween them from their land one addiction
