They collect the information very well, showed it with cheap promotion. I searched two cars, first one via plate number and the second other one via vin. Vin research worked pretty well. But plate number, as soon as I paid for the membership right after I search the first car and saw that the report is ready. There was nothing. Even if they sent another link that I can get the free record. I still doubt that was the best they could.
Site is an absolute scam. RUN AWAY. The $1 report produced absolutely nothing. Then, canceling the subscription is absolutely impossible. If you call, they tell you to ask the chat bot. If you chat, they tell you to email. In the email they send you to a link that doesn't work. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM.
Charged $1 then tried to charge $24.99 which I didn't authorize. The report was complete rubbish. Charges are under "BACKGROUNDLOOKER" No receipt emailed to me so I can't supply that. Went to Online Chat to cancel order & get a refund - at which point they wanted my exact name, last 6 of card & email. Not sure if this is continuation of the scam or the only way to cancel the "subscription" they claim I signed up for.
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT USE THIS SITE

After agreeing to pay $1.00 for a vin report, this company continues to charge my checking account $28.95 every month despite numerous calls to have the service cancelled.
Service was as described and extremely straightforward. They provided the exact information I was looking for. Couldn't be happier with the service.
Easy, fast, reliable, detailed. Everything you need to know about a car in a real easy way!
I used this site to find the history for a car that I was purchasing and the result was good
I was supposed to pay $1…
It charged me 2x transactions for $1 each l, so a total of $2.
Next day, it charged me $30.
I bought the car thinking it had 130k.
Next day I seen a real report from AutoCheck, which there using a for of piggy back, to show you there info.
But the page says my car had no odometer problems… now I have a car with 200k+
I'm very upset. Hopefully I can refund the car, or I can open suit against this company if they exist. Either way I'm fighting till the end.
I needed to verify the history of the car, eventually that led me to buy it without hesitation
I have been going around in circles with their team since Nov 1, still no refund and still no contact! This feels very scammy, very unethical. I probably should have tried to follow up with some more independent research before committing to it but I was in a vulnerable place at the time. Their website is also woefully misleading. They state you'll only be charged a dollar but I was charged $45, after asking customer service why they said it was a monthly subscription plus $1 for every report you request. Despite multiple attempts, being given a ticket number and the circus act of messaging live chat and getting automated teleprompts on the phone line, I have decided to cancel my card and speak to my bank, and contact ScamWatch and the ACCC. This company has absolutely contributed to my anxiety, at a time where it was already really suffering due to multiple devastating circumstances, and to just make matters worse they have stolen my money!
Tip for consumers:
just don't use the site please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

allegedly i signed up for a monthly subscription service
I'm glad I went with this website! Real information, no gimmicks or scams. Results were quick
Results were emailed to me quickly. No scams or waiting. Better than most sites that have a lot of clickbait. Will be using in the future
Gave me the details i needed and helped me with choosing a car
Very easy to use and know what everything means and very well put together.
I submitted a complaint with the BBB (prior to my Sept. 4th review on this site). In addition, I have reported them to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). I urge you each to report them to the FTC in hopes of shutting them down. They are despicable!

How everything will go (vinhistoryusa.com):
1. You'll trust this website since it's at the top of Google search, and there's a live chat with a real person.
2. You'll be assured that the service costs $1.
3. You'll enter your card details, and $1 will be charged.
4. You'll receive the worst report imaginable. On any free car report site, you can get more information.
5. After a few minutes, $30 will be deducted from your account. Turns out, it's a monthly subscription for their report services, information you only find out after payment. Well, either I'm blind, or it's written somewhere.
6. Since you don't have an account, you can't check the subscription status or remove your payment methods. You'll ask in the chat. You'll request a refund.
7. They'll promise to refund you. They'll reply in 3 business days, then in 1-2 business days, and it will go in circles.
8. Later, you'll read only negative reviews on the internet and see this review.
9. You'll have a choice - hope that they won't charge your card again or go change your bank card. Since I've seen in reviews that others continue to be charged, and personally, they tried to deduct $1 from me again without reason, I decided to change my bank card.
Tip for consumers:
These are scammers and everyone should know about this. I don’t understand why the Google search engine gave this site a place in the top.

Quickly and detailed information about the car. Great simple service! Recommend!
VinHistory is a scam. Sends you a fake report (sample report) to your email after you pay the $1.00.
They are trying to get your credit card details. Should report them to the FBI quickly. Has anyone done that?
They are using a few entities. CARSCENTME (this is coming up on the Credit Card statment). And also BUDGET VEHICLE REPORTS MIAMI US. They tried to charge me an additional $4.95 today. How do we get these guys
I have CLOSED my bank account, all 3 of my cards are locked. I have no money in my account, yet this company (which I've never associated with before, nor have I used these cards for anything but Walmart & Shoppers Drug Mart) keeps attempting to take money from my account. Once this starts, all you can do is cancel your entire account with the bank & never go back to them. No matter what you do, what account you create, if they have access to your email and phone number, they will CONTINUE TO MAKE CHARGES TO YOUR ACCOUNT. This is ridiculous. Piece of sh** scammers.
Tip for consumers:
Scam. It's a huge effing scam.

I didn't purchase a single thing. It's a scam, and they can access your account anywhere. I only purchased stuff from Walmart & Shoppers and they keep attempting to make payments.
I used PayPal so they dont have my CC info. I got the report via email. The website wasn't showing the results so i thought i got scammed.
Just needed one report paid the dollar & canceled my subscription as simple as that
Site provided everything I needed to purchase my truck.
Wish I read the reviews before purchasing. This site is a scam. If you have chase it should be automatically declined as a fraud transaction. Make sure you cancel the card as well.
Felt tricked on getting a automatic membership
I hate that I put all my information in then bam!
Not too complicated to operate and not overpriced.
Got exactly what I need quickly. Had report within a minute.
