I have never had a problem with the Greendot Walmart Money Card for over two years,
Until now…
One month ago I made an online purchase at Walmart on the Walmart app with my Walmart money card.
I canceled the order the day that I placed the order because there was a delay so I just went into Walmart & bought the item there since it would be quicker that way.
Anyway, the transaction had went through, I canceled the order & Walmart has always been prompt on a refund within twenty four hours I received a refund.
Not this time.
They opened a dispute.
I have called thirteen times & I have received multiple answers such as I would get my money refunded within twenty four hours, I would get my refund within forty eight hours, that they would send me an email or a letter when my dispute was resolved, that my dispute was already resolved, that I needed to mail a written letter for the reason of my dispute within ten days of the placing of the dispute though they failed to tell me that I must send it within ten days from the date of the dispute. I've been disconnected & hung up on eight times!
I've spoken to two supervisors & I asked where they were located & she replied,"The Philippines"!
I asked her why there even was a dispute that was opened in the first place but she replied that she was only in the dispute department & that the investigation department was doing the investigation.
What is so $#*!ing difficult about giving someone their damned refund for an online order that they canceled through the same damned company?
This country has gone to $#*! because they keep doing business with other countries.
And not reputable countries like Germany, France or Belgium, but third world countries.
Very unsatisfactory.

Dont ever use this card

If you give negative Stars I would definitely give it a negative hundred I've had this card for over two years the only reason dp first time I had issues I had lost my card called to get a new one didn't tell me there was no way for me to access the money with out it told me it was going to be ten days then told me I could have it expedited after fighting with them for days paid the 15 and got my card what ever then come to the middle of this month I was at work go on brak find my card had been charged for over 300 dollars fraudulently so I go through the motions to dispute it now this was a thursday the person that I spoke for one could barely understand him two he tells me all the transactions have been entered into the dispute have to wait ten business days witch is stupid but what ever so couldn't get a hold of anybody till I got my new card and when I did come to find out that not all the transactions were filled so had to again file another one and all they said was I'm sorry they said that now my one dispute has been denied because they say I authorized the transactions and showed on the letter a charge from October that wasn't even in anything but because it was the same type of transaction they said I authorized it now sitting on hold for over an hour dont ever get this card if you have it get something else immediately

Rip-off outfit

Had a Walmart money card for years... no real issues until last year when my card was stolen and all access changed, thorn the troubles began.
I called to report the card stolen, they locked it up so nothing would be processed. Next issue, getting my money back that was deposited on it... heres the major issue: since the card was stolen and access changed without my consent they wanted the card number to reallow me access to the card. Problem: didn't have the card number so couldn't access the funds or get a reissue of the card. So contacted the main company- Green Dot Bank... yeah, no help there either. Finally I was told to file a fraud case and send in endless documents and proof that I was the owner of the card and history of my address locations along with photo ID. Done, well apparently that was not good enough for them since nothing ever came of it so my money was still locked up in the card. Ok, next step... contact the social security department and get help from them. Well had to call multiple times and get claim escelated so Walmart money card/green dot bank had to contact the SSA directly. Think that helped? WRONG! Still no answers from either entity about my money. So the SSA's next step, contact the treasury department. Well being who and what they are you'd think that Walmart would respond and tux the issue... nope. Just got off the phone with the SSA only to find out that even the treasury department can't retrieve my money. SO long story short, Walmart Money Card and Green Dot Bank have stolen my benefit deposit and it can not be recovered. So, I'm out money and there is nothing I can do to get it back. Think you can trust this card... think again! There are other companies who are more legit than THIS chicken $#*! outfit! The entire organization, Walmart money card-green dot bank- and Bonneville bank should all be shut down for fraud. Oh, and sueing them... can't! Stupid system just keeps you down.

Warning do not buy green dot cards the company just scammed me out of 300 dollars. I bought a new green dot card and put my money on it then the next day I registered the card and called the company because I needed to put a PIN number on it and I called the company and they said the card was not in my name or social security number and they said they had to open up a fraud case then they said that they didn't owe me any money and so I had them open a second case and they did and emailed me they wanted to discuss the case with me and then I called them back and then they sent me to money pak to ask for a refund and I did and didn't have a number for that website so I called them back and told them again about the situation and they sent me to someone else and they played the I can't hear you and hung up on me. So fair warning money card green dot card is scamming people out of their money I also looked at the back of the card and the black strip is all scratched up and I haven't used it FYI

**FRAUDULENT THIEVES**

I was the victim of fraud October 2-8,2019 AND went through the long and arduous process of trying to reach a human being on the phone to close down my card and report this dispute. It took over 3 hours to do so as my card was continuously being charged out of state. My ONE AND ONLY Walmart Money Card was skimmed or somehow stolen and used out of State. I live in Tampa, FL and I have not left this area OR USED MY CARD for 5+ months. The thief used my card FAST AND REPEATEDLY for 17 FRAUDULENT charges in the State of GA totaling $393.93. It's easy to prove with 100% accuracy that I WAS NOT IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA ----PROVEN BY THE FACT THAT my OWN REAL card was being used simultaneously 6+ HOURS AWAY in Tampa, FL. How could anyone use ONE card at the SAME EXACT TIME IN A STATE SHE'S NEVER BEEN IN 6+ HOURS AWAY and where she actually lives. I GOT A NOTIFICATION THAT "AFTER THOROUGH RESEARCH YOUR DISPUTE HAS BEEN DENIED". They don't have a fraud department, they don't research anything EXCEPT that they disputed all of the fraudulent charges with the merchants and WALMART MONEY CARD STOLE MY MONEY. Disgusting, unethical, unconscionable and appalling. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR AND RUN FROM THIS DISGUSTING, DISGRACEFUL, SHAMEFUL SHAM OF A CARD. THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU. YOUR MONEY IS ABSOLUTELY NOT SAFE. See attached which proves this 100%. I am literally sick that a "company" in the USA can get away with such deceptive, double-dealing practices with such deliberation. I am outraged and will make it my mission to ensure everyone knows to RUN FAST. That is THE ONLY way we can stop Green Dot Bank & Walmart. Please share for the sake of others. I wished someone had warned me.

I generally don't like to do reviews based on one experience or issue, but this was so deserving I couldn't pass the opportunity. I used to have an open account until one day I was out shopping, and received an alert of a point of sale charge against my card at a Starbucks in Seattle, WA, A FEW minutes after a gift purchase at a store in my hometown (one of many that day). I immediately phoned to dispute the charge as I didn't drink Starbucks coffee and would never spend $40 there- and asked that it be refunded back to my card. After a year of going back and forth, opening cases, and being transferred around to multiple "departments" (none of which ever wanted to tell me exactly their function or why I was transferred to them) I gave up- something I think was the plan all along- and removed the remainder of the funds from the card and attempted to close the account. To compound the issue, I was told I would have to fax or mail the request to close the account (?) - ok. I immediately faxed it over while on the phone and of course you have to wait for the faxes to be distributed and processed before they can document and process the request. Long story short, I literally had to get rude before anything happened and that was still weeks following the request. Fast forward to almost 2-almost 3 years later, I received a "notification" that the dispute had been resolved in my favor and the funds refunded on a card I had closed, was told had been closed, only to discover it had not! To add insult to injury, they had the audacity to tell me to log into the account and close it so that the funds would be refunded by check. (You can't make this stuff up) well, it gets even better, they then began deducting the monthly charges for the card from the refund of the fraudulent charges until nothing was left because my information had changed (phone, etc.) the code sent to update my password kept going to an old phone number & I couldn't add a new one even with other identifying factors. Long story short, be careful with this card because unlike most, it is insanely difficult to get any justice and true customer service or support. I've said my peace and only hope that you are careful with using this card and service should you dare to chance your hard earned money to it. I leave you with a great line from a great movie, "May the odds ever be in your favor".

Note: I would've displayed the letter, but I believe I ripped it to shreds after hearing they were deducting their fees from an account that was supposed to be closed.

I have had my green dot card for about 5years. I've never had any issues ever. I always use my Walmart card for shopping and taking trips it was very helpful. I've always gotten money packs from the 7-Eleven to Load funds to my card with no issues ever ever. So f3 months ago I bought $150 money pack from the 7-Eleven. I waited about 45 minutes and try to load it to my Walmart money card and it wouldn't load. So I went on about my day did my shopping continue on and ran my errands and then later on that evening, I went again to try to load my money pack it again and it wouldn't load two hours later. Long story short I called greendot Customer Service to let them know what was going on and that the money pack wouldn't load to my Walmart card. The customer service representative told me that I had tried to load the money pack before it was ready and too many attempts times. I said OK fine then you load my funds to the card that I paid for. They said they can't do that, they would just have to send a refund. So two months later I never received the refund! I continue to try to call them they will block my phone number. I will call from Work, they would take the call two times and then they will block my number. I filed a complaint with the district attorneys office in California where their offices are supposedly held. They told a bunch o lies to make themselves look legitimate.It's false! Green dot customer service representatives are foreign entity. If you call them over three times they block your phone number. To anyone reading this! You need to pass the word and get the word around to stop using greendot. They know something is wrong in there system of customer service representatives. You have one time to steal from me and I'm done with you. As a consumer you control the power of where you decide to spend your money. I have gotten rid of a lot of companies that I no longer deal with because of the customer service that I received green dot has to be on that list people do your homework spend your money what you are valued green dot needs to Report for the in house fraud
