My online order was cancelled without notifying me because the amount ($1,000) was too high for someone who does not shop in that store onlin! So it could be my first online shopping but it was my last one for sure!
Return policy/process is a nightmare. Received email from WHBM confirming return was in transit on 8/24. Almost a month later and all any of the reps can tell me is that it's STILL IN TRANSIT and I must wait even longer. Their policy states that the process takes 7-14 days from the day you ship your return but all the reps keep saying to wait 4 weeks! Ridiculous! I will never shop there again after this.
I have been a WHBM loyal shopper for years and now I see they got rid of Afterpay. Being a grad student in a rigorous nurse practitioner program, I can't afford to purchase without it. They only offer PayPal, which I do not trust. I phoned customer service and they really don't have any knowledge of anything, most likely because they are in another country. Bye WH!
I bought a Tee on sale but the size was too big. I sent it back, asking to exchange for a smaller size. On the return paperwork, in addition to checking all the right boxes, I wrote PLEASE EXCHANGE and circled it. They refunded the sale price, saying that they didn't have any in stock. Problem is, that when I checked their website, it WAS in stock. So I sent them an e-mail asking them to honor the sale price and send me the smaller size. They waited until the Tee was out of stock and then apologized for the "delay" and said it was out of stock.
UPDATE: I upgraded my review to 4 stars after I received a call from WHBM 3 weeks later apologizing and giving me a credit equal to the savings I had on the sale price of the tee. The rep said they were working through their complaints file.
I went the Arlington highlands store in Arlington tx. I walked in store and as browsing around for maybe 2 mins. No one offered to help or acknowledged me. A group of nonblacks (white) people walked in store someone met them at the entrance May I help you. The person wasnt even there to shop. I walked around pulled items to look at no response. No sales person approached me. Ever. I put the items back. Other nonblack people where in store the sales people was helping them. Can I put this in dressing room. Me still invisible. No acknowledgment. I use to shop her often shop a lot online came in to see an item seen on line. Shame on you whbm if you have experienced this please review so we may make them aware of this pattern
UPDATE: The company eventually credited me to the higher tier and sent some coupons ($5, $15 off, Bday coupon) to honor the tier. If you sign up for the rewards account, just make sure you keep track of your purchases to make sure you are being credited. Also it seems that if you use the coupons, depending on the amount of the coupon, your points go down, so your tier may change. I don't want to specify too much because I'm not accurate on the breakdown of points and coupons.
The company has nice clothes (there are other and better deals elsewhere online, though), but the way they set up the rewards system is a disservice to some of the customers. I am a customer that has spent at least $2,000.00 at the store and had an issue of getting credited the proper rewards (until the company eventually fixed the issue). They send the standard mail coupons like $25 off of $125 every now and then, but for customers that spent hundreds or thousands of dollars, you're supposed to have access to certain things like free shipping on all orders, free returns, various rewards. I'm not sure if there was an issue with my account previously because there may have been a change with the settings or terms on the site earlier in the year? Hopefully customers who sign up now won't have the same confusion as before.
I attached a partial listing of my orders I've made. However after the update, I'll just keep it here instead of deleting it to show some proof of purchase.
I bought a dress at WHBM for a wedding shower. I couldn't go to the shower because I got sick with COVID. Since I loved the dress so much I kept it for another occasion. A few months later I wore the dress for another occasion. I had the embarrassment of my life when the zipper of the dress broke and as such had to leave the event. I went back to the store to see if they could exchange the dress or get a credit since it was a defective product. I was told that they have 90 day return policy and there was nothing they could do so no only I was out of the money I paid for the dress but also no dress. Be very careful when you shop at WHBM. They don't stand behind their product like other stores do. I will never again buy anything there since I don't trust their products.
I went there to buy a camisole, and as I was shopping around I noticed how expensive things have gotten in the last year or so. I mentioned it to the girls there and they gasped, saying they have noticed it too and it's hard for them to shop. Shop. I had a birthday certificate, so I was looking for a camisole. On my size 8 to 10 and tried a medium. It was so tight I could barely get it over my head. The style I wanted they did not have it an extra large so we ordered one. It came and it was still too tight. I looked like a sausage. It went back the next day as it did not look, feel, or look like a decent piece of clothing. They also no longer carry skirts in store, and that's primarily what I wanted to buy. You could tell the jewelry is from China and it's not worth the high price tag. Even though I had a birthday certificate, it was not worth my time in trouble to even go over. I find much nicer things, better quality at Macy's or Dillard's or even Ann Taylor's with their sales and coupons.
I tried to post a review on another site, but White House Black Market kept coming back saying it did not meet their criteria because it was not favorable. So I had no choice to try site jabber. I guess they're afraid to lose business if somebody has something negative to say.
White House Black Market has chic and fashionalbe designs for the working woman. I get ALL of my work outfits from this website and could not be happier with their products. The quality is amazing and the prices are fair; they have great sales too.
Awful!
I have purchased a number of items online. I had an issue snd spent days trying to reach customer service!
The online chat is also useless. I still have not resolved my issue. I purchase two pairs of pants and both stretched out after one wearing. It is so frustrating because they just don't answer.
Not worth it!
Answer: It's easy enough to get hold of them but they're not always very helpful in my experience. Specially when making an online return by mail they don't seem to give you the confidence that you will get your money back!
