After the sale I had to contact Worthy two times as to where our money was. Although you are told it would take 10 to 15 days, our money took a bit longer. We bank with an international bank not a local institution so the length of time was unnecessary.
I sent in a ring and a necklace to sell. They had me take a picture of the ring and send it to them. In none of the communications did it say that the items had to meet their criteria to sell them. I mailed the items the next day and the day after that, I got an email stating that my items are not the kind of items that they want to sell. They had not even seen the necklace yet. The items arrived at their location and the next day they sent me another email stating that there was not enough demand in their marketplace to sell my items. They wanted to return them to a staffed fed ex location two hours away from me. Went thru all the rigamarole to get my items sent back to my home address. Would not recommend them unless you have very high-end jewelry. Apparently, that is all they are looking for. They should screen items better to save people time of sending their items in.

It was really hard to put a diamond ring in a shipping envelope. I had visions of dropping it in a mailbox but a courier picked it up. Worthy was in touch immediately when it was picked up. I got emails every step of the way from receipt, pictures, valuation to bidding. They were letting me know the next step before I could even wonder what was next. I felt secure about the entire process. Much easier than trying to figure out how to sell my ring on my own.

I had two Cartier Panther watches. I never used them. They just sat in my jewelry box. I tried to sell them at several jewelry stores, but the offers were very low, so I decided to keep them. I saw an ad for Worthy and signed up. After answering some questions I agreed to send them the watches for appraisal. I received an estimate on their worth and agreed to auction in hopes that I would receive bids higher than their appraisal (which was higher than other jewelry stores offered). In less than two weeks I had many bids on both watches and sold them both for more than I expected. Worthy sent me a check shortly after. I am very pleased with this company. Christine and Kurtis were helpful from the start and very agreeable when I wouldn't accept the 1st offer. The 2nd time around, we made double. Makenzie got in touch with me the very day I had planned to contact Worthy myself out of concern for how late the payment was. She wrote to apologize about the delay and was going to make sure she discovered the issue. Worthy states is the amount of time one should expect to receive the result of the auction is 5-7 days. My item was sold on the 2nd yet the check wasn't deposited until the 19th.
It's not that I was desperate for the $, I feared something went horribly wrong.
Again, however, they made the process simple.

Overall good. I was very disappointed at the final price. My ring was extremely unique. Literally one of a kind. I had hoped for double the money I received. Both TOP appraisals were very high. Plus it goes down to "Trust". As I don't see the buyers bids so as to authenticate them.
I got quick replies which is good. But I felt the whole process from sending to receiving money took a long time. Especially when I didn't have any diamonds removed and put back on.
I will use Worthy again.
I was hesitant to send my ring with this company, but overall they were great at communicating when my ring was received and during auction. But overall it was a huge waste of time. I have a.96 carat solitaire ring that is less than 2 years old. Highest bid I received was $260 and they suggested I countered with somewhere around $325. I know I won't get nearly as much as I paid for this ring but a pawn shop would offer me much more than that. A local jewelry store offered me $1600 and I thought I may get more from worthy from reading reviews. Overall pretty dissatisfied and annoyed that I wasted my time.

That being said, it sounds like you did everything we asked with regard to submitting a picture of the jewelry to us in advance that you would like to sell. This is a great and very helpful initial step, but unfortunately with most pieces of jewelry, our Lab Team has to see it first hand to fully determine if there is a demand for the item on the current market, and/or it would sell for a fair amount for the benefit of both the seller and our company. This is why we provide all shipping costs to get the item(s) to us, and all shipping costs to return them as well if they are determined to not meet current qualifications. We try to make sure there is very little we ask of sellers beyond patience and trust while their jewelry is in our possession.
We do apologize that your jewelry was determined to not be auctionable on the current market. In addition, we are sorry that the FedEx Location we suggested was so far from your address. In order for jewelry to remain fully insured, we are required to ship to FedEx-Staffed Pickup Locations, so we try to find the one closest to the home address of the seller. In some cases, that is farther than preferred, so we have the seller sign a release to have the jewelry returned to their home or work address as is the case here.
We don't want you or anyone to get the impression that we are only looking for high-end jewelry, but more so diamond jewelry that would sell on the current market to one of the more than 1,000 professional jewelry buyers we work with.

Plenty of communication during the phases of sending/receiving my items and during the selling process. Once my items sold, however, all communication from Worthy ceased. They quote a time frame of 3-5 days to receive your payment once the item sells. On day four I called for an update and was told that I would receive payment on the next day, the fifth day. On the fifth day, I called and was told that it was too late in the day (4PM) because "finance closes at 5:30pm" but that I may still receive payment that day but it would certainly be by the next day, the 6th day. On the 6th day, I chose not to wait until the end of the day to call. When I called I was told that I would receive payment in the next 1-2 business days (today is Friday, Monday would be the 9th day). I was told that there was no one to escalate my phone call to when I asked for a manager. I was told there were no guarantees about when I would receive the funds. I have now been told three days in a row that I would receive the funds that day or the next day and now on the third day the story is it will be another one to two more days. I've lost confidence in anything they tell me at this point and am wondering if I'll get my money without taking further steps. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE ENTIRE PROCESS is the part they can't get right. Of course, they've received their payment.

Payments for successful sales are normally issued within 5 business days of the sale being finalized however the recent holiday created some delay in the processing time. Proceeds for both sales were issued to you on January 5th which would have been within the normal timeframe for the watch's payment. So I reached out to Worthy several years ago in attempt to sell my wedding set, but it just didn't seem worth it at the time. Fast forward 2 years & I decided to take a leap of faith since * came back with a much more promising $ range for my pieces - (appraisal for $23k) but worthy said I should be able to get 8500-10,000. I decided to set a reserve price so that I could incorporate Worthy's commission. I had been offered close to $9000 locally but thought I'd try for a little more since I was planning on using the $ for an anniversary ring & a home project. The communication & process to get the auction started was really great! The auction was set for 5 days & that's when the torture began. I got 1 bid $6050 ish & thought ok let's give it some more time. As each day passed, NOTHING! I finally called * and she reassured me this was normal and most of the bids come in on the last day, towards the end ( I compared it to ebay so felt better). Worthy called me a few hours before the end of the auction & suggested I lower the reserve a bit as it supposedly alerts watchers. I agreed to lower it buy 200 only. The auction ended at $6365, AFTER ALL THAT?! To be offered LESS than my local pawn shop/diamond buyers- mind blown! I think their slogan says they get you up to 2x your local offer what a joke! Granted, I know my diamond shape isn't currently "on trend" but it's IGA certified IF Cushion.
Now, after reading all of the bad reviews I'm hoping my ring makes it back to me without any issues. I will probably take it to a local diamond shop to have it checked over once I get it and make sure everything matches the certificate & they didn't damage it etc. During my auction, I was also trying to keep track of their "recently sold" items & so many were comparable to mine & mine was actually graded better. I guess the only thing I can do is continue to share my review on Reddit, Instagram and Facebook etc. just so people know what to prepare themselves for. In my case it was complete disappointment and a waste of time! Sadly I do not recommend. I'll head back to my local broker.
