After the sale I had to contact Worthy two times as to where our money was. Although you are told it would take 10 to 15 days, our money took a bit longer. We bank with an international bank not a local institution so the length of time was unnecessary.
I sent in a ring and a necklace to sell. They had me take a picture of the ring and send it to them. In none of the communications did it say that the items had to meet their criteria to sell them. I mailed the items the next day and the day after that, I got an email stating that my items are not the kind of items that they want to sell. They had not even seen the necklace yet. The items arrived at their location and the next day they sent me another email stating that there was not enough demand in their marketplace to sell my items. They wanted to return them to a staffed fed ex location two hours away from me. Went thru all the rigamarole to get my items sent back to my home address. Would not recommend them unless you have very high-end jewelry. Apparently, that is all they are looking for. They should screen items better to save people time of sending their items in.
Christine from Worthy was exceptional...total follow up and made me feel my item was safe at all times. The suggested list price was low but I went w/ my gut and ended up receiving a fair price.
This company is beyond incompetent. I sent four rings to be auctioned. Worthy listing them all together and wanted to sell all four as a package for $3500 minus their commission. When I was called, I asked if that was for just the Engagement ring or all 4. They said they were listed all together. I immediately told them no and to send back my rings. Weeks went by with me calling for updates to see when my rings would be returned. Finally got ahold of a human that was honest. They let me know my Engagement was accidentally sold already and that they lost my wedding band. Fast forward, weeks of back & forth. Worthy wants me to claim on my insurance. Insurance says that is not possible. Replacement cost of my insured engagement ring was $11,500 & $1,600 for my Wedding Band. Worthy has offered me $2,870 for my engagement ring they sold without my permission & $800 for my wedding band they lost. My replacement costs that have been insured for years equal $13,100, They want to give me $3670. 00. This story has only begun as I have reached out to insurance & attorneys. Lindsay at Worthy was asked to have a manager contact me on 11/17/20, as I am done with her attitude and disrespect for my valuables. It has been crickets!

In light of your experience, we have offered to close your auction at your reserve amount of $3,500. You established the value for your ring when you originally set your reserve at this amount. You have since requested the amount of $11,500, for your ring based on your coverage through your homeowner's insurance policy. While this is not an amount we are able to honor, we're still very focused on coming to a resolution with you. We'll continue to communicate with you or other appropriate parties directly.

The combined fees for the seller and buyer are pretty steep but thereare no better alternatives. With 2 yr. Treas rates close to 5 pct it is to costly to let a ring sit in a safe deposit box
