After the sale I had to contact Worthy two times as to where our money was. Although you are told it would take 10 to 15 days, our money took a bit longer. We bank with an international bank not a local institution so the length of time was unnecessary.
I sent in a ring and a necklace to sell. They had me take a picture of the ring and send it to them. In none of the communications did it say that the items had to meet their criteria to sell them. I mailed the items the next day and the day after that, I got an email stating that my items are not the kind of items that they want to sell. They had not even seen the necklace yet. The items arrived at their location and the next day they sent me another email stating that there was not enough demand in their marketplace to sell my items. They wanted to return them to a staffed fed ex location two hours away from me. Went thru all the rigamarole to get my items sent back to my home address. Would not recommend them unless you have very high-end jewelry. Apparently, that is all they are looking for. They should screen items better to save people time of sending their items in.
I wasn't sure how this website would work to sell a piece of jewelry, but it worked like a charm! I definitely recommend and I will use it again.
Overall it was a very easy experience. I didn't have to speak to anybody & was updated constantly. It moved very quickly in the beginning but there was some delay at the IGI grading lab. When all was said & done it was abt 2 weeks. What I'm most disappointed abt was the starting offer I received I thought was chosen by a person, but I believe it was just automated by the computer, or Worthy did not care to get max amount of money & just wanted to sell. I accepted the very low starting point of abt $475. Over 120 watchers and ever time I would check on it there would be more watchers. The first sold for $753.75 which was extremely low compared to other rings in same grading scale and my ring was more beautiful & unique than other rings that sold for over $1000. Luckily Worthy decided on their own to extend the auction for another hour or so "due to high demand" and it sold for $978.75. Still below many other plain rings. I think I should've started my auction at about $900. I'm sure there would've been bids. I would've been devastated if my ring only sold for $753.75 or even less! In total I paid over $4k for that ring! At least, in that case, if my auction had never gotten to $900 I would've had the option to sell or not but bc my starting price was so low, I was so close to receiving practically pennies! I think if I would've started my auction at $900 I could've gotten a little more but I trusted this starting auction Worthy gave thinking there would be a lot of bids or they knew best. I would go with your own gut and place your starting point where you wouldn't mind selling your ring for at least that price.
Hi Lola,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We completely understand it can be very disappointing to learn about the difference between retail and resale values.
Our primary goal is to help you get the most for your jewelry so thank you for allowing us the opportunity to partner with you. Should you need any assistance selling any of your other pieces, please do not hesitate to let us know. We'd be happy to work with you again!

First they ask that they could send my ring over to GIA to get tested. That they would have to remove the diamond to do so. I think it's really weird that they are willing to do this for free. And I've had my ring checked out by several people and they stated that it was a real diamond versus a lab created diamond. But, when it came through for the GIA report it said it was a lab created diamond. Is there a possibility that Worthy could have swapped out the diamond? I don't trust these guys at all. They had my ring over at GIA for almost a week and a half. Finally, it goes into auction. First, let me tell you that this is a diamond that is a carot and a half and also has two pink small diamonds on the side. Also several diamonds throughout the entire ring. It appraised about $15,000. They submitted it through the auction and it had listed the wrong description and only got $230? Around there. Of course I didn't take that value because that seems like they're trying to rip you off and just take the ring. And these auctions don't even seem real. When I asked were the auction site was actually at to where I could sign up for it they couldn't give me any information. Finally, they are shipping the ring back but they're sending it to a weird FedEx location but not provided at tracking number yet and it's been almost 10 days. Why wouldn't they ship it back to my house? Oh they're really going to be shocked if they swapped out the diamond because I actually had a GIA report on it and it proves that it's real. If I get this ring back and it's a fake diamond with a different serial number.I'm going to be going to the police and going to the news. Thanks guys.
Tip for consumers:
It seems to be fraud

Hi Kelly,
We are genuinely concerned with the statements you have made in your review as they do not reflect our business or our practices whatsoever. Suggesting that we have swapped your center diamond is both highly unethical and highly illegal. Such statements without merit are incredibly harmful to the reputation we have worked very hard to build over the past 10 years and are not taken lightly.
We only make money when you do which is why we're focused on setting your auction up for success which includes complimentary professional cleaning, photography, and objective third-party grading. As explained in our communication to you directly, we utilize the GIA for grading loose diamonds as they are the gold standard for accurate grading and building buyer confidence, which in turn, helps influence offers placed during the auction.
The GIA reported your center diamond as lab-grown and a total of 1.39 carats. The market demand amongst our network of professional buyers for lab-grown diamonds is unfortunately very low compared to natural diamonds of similar characteristics. All components making up your bridal set were included in the details of your auction which were visible to both you and the buyers who had access to your auction.
Your jewelry was returned to the FedEx location you confirmed after final preparations were made to ship it back. Our normal return processing timeframe is 7-10 business days however in light of the center diamond needing to be remounted to the setting, one additional day was required before the jewelry was ready to be returned. We greatly appreciate your patience while these final steps were taken.
Although we have not heard back from you since you received your jewelry, a member of our leadership team will follow up with you directly to confirm there are no remaining concerns left to address.
Thank you,
Worthy Team
They laid out every step clearly and that's exactly how it went! It was quick and we made a little more than if we had sold it to a local jeweler!

Please beware of this company. Read the reviews (the real ones) and notice the consistent themes. Worthy reps will convince you to send them your ring and allow them to remove the diamond (they do not mention this until after you send your ring and they give you a substantially low offer). Don't do it! First, you can get a better price from a local jewelry dealer. Be prepared to be shocked by the difference between your insurance appraisal value and how much you are being offered (I was offered 15% of my appraisal value). Your Worthy rep will be available and very responsive up until you ask for them to send you your ring back. Once I made this request, a week went by with no response. I had to eventually ask for a manager and threaten to report my ring stolen. Also, one of the most important things you need to be aware of is how they insure your ring. Once my ring was returned I notice on the slip in the package that instead of my ring being insured for the appraised value ($7500) which is the value I have the ring insured for, it was insured for the value Worthy offered me. If I had known this, I would not have trusted mailing my ring to them in the first place. Finally, the offer they give you after you send your ring will be substantially different from the offer they provide during your initial consultation and their final offer (i. E. $535 vs. $1100). I sold my ring to a reputable local jewelry dealer for the amount Worthy offered during my original consultation (after escalating my case to a manger and threatening to expose this company, the manager was "finally" (again this is part of the game they play) able to get me an offer of the amount they originally quoted during my consultation which I declined since I got the same offer from a local dealer and wouldn't have to give up the 20% Worthy requires. Either way I did not want to do business with this shady company so even if they had increased their offer I would not have accepted it.) Therefore this process was a waste of time and a headache. Had I sold my ring to them I would have gotten between 20% - 50% (20% for the fee they charge; 50% if I had gone with the actual offer after they received my ring) less. So trust me when I say do not waste your time with this company! They lack integrity!
Hi Maria,
We'd like to make clear that your accusations that our reviews are not genuine is not only factually inaccurate, but is an unfair slight to the people on our team that work so hard getting people the most value we can for their items. As a marketplace, we strive to get you the highest amount as our success is your success, while only charging a fee and leaving you in control the entire time. You did not describe your diamond accurately when you submitted it, and, as such, our initial estimate of its value was off (had you described your item accurately, we would have rejected it when submitted). We did everything we could to try to get you the most money from our buyer community, as we always do. In fact, if you read the many positive reviews across various platforms, you consistently see we are able to significantly beat the amount you can find locally. Finally, when you sent us your item in December of 2018, the packing slip was inaccurate - rest assured that your items are fully insured up to $100,000 with our policy from Lloyd's of London. We are sorry that you were not able to get a successful deal made on our platform, and do wish you the best.
