Recently, I stopped at Yankee Candle in Pembroke, MA and the customer service was amazing. At first I Was happy to browse around, but after a short time I was ready to make my purchases. Mary Lou and Patty Were extremely friendly and more than happy to assist me. I was looking for favors for my daughter's upcoming wedding. They showed me several options and made my selection much easier. They went out of their way to make my shopping experience a happy and successful one. Sincerely, Marsha Alden

Customer service is okay but the website crashes constantly. I'm trying to give you my money, please make it easier for me to do so. Plus shipping was messed up, no wonder!

Their website issue ended in duplicate orders being charged & shipped to me. 4 phonecalls, 3 emails, & endless promises that never materialized. I was an avid Yankee Candle customer for well over 20 years. Well, no more. I don't care how much I love your product if you can't back it up with proper customer service I won't wast my time or money on you.
After 30 years of ordering candles, I can honestly say, Yankee has gone down the tubes.
Quality of candles is horrible, I have now received two deliveries of broken (shattered) jars, a blueberry candle that burned straight down the middle. Yes they replaced them but
I've spent over two hours of my time, on the phone and sending pictures for exchange.
I don't order to return. I think I'm done.
I'm mad and sad!

Ordered one candle during a Black Friday sale. Got the completely wrong candle, and the address on the receipt in the box was for someone different in a different city. Filled out 2 customer service forms online on 2 separate days. Did not receive a response, or even confirmation that the complaints were received. Very sketch. Will never order from them again. Save your money.

I have never experienced this level of incompetence from such an established manufacturer and retailer or less regard for customer satisfaction. If they can't manage their inventory, they should stay in the brick and mortar space. I placed what was a last minute Christmas present order on Friday Dec 15 (and paid for expedited shipping for receipt in one business day which meant Tuesday), received an email acknowledgment and nothing more until Tuesday morning asking for patience...taking longer than expected blah blah blah. Another email 20 minutes later saying sorry they had to cancel my order - Reason: No inventory. Canceled four days after the order was placed and on the expected delivery date. Terrible.
Their promotional codes don't work that they advertised. I tried to contact customer service and got a generic response a week later, long after the promotion expired and I had made my purchases. One of the items got cancelled for lack of inventory and another arrived shattered into pieces with no response from Yankee Candle.
My daughter bout one of the candles. After 20 minutes black smoke began to appear from the wick. It has left soot damage to the walls, ceiling, shelves and windows. When I contacted Yankee they have refused to accept responsibility that the candles have an issue even though there have been numerous complaints for the same issue. They offered me £50 of other products. Why would I want this when there is hundreds of pounds worth of damage to the bedroom?
Do not buy these products. Customer service is none existent.

Had votive candles "Autumn Wreath" placed them in candle holders on table. The candle did not burn property melted over sides and over candle holder on to tablecloth. Did not not expect this poor quality at the price of Yankee Candles. Called customer service would not do anything because I no longer had receipt even tho I had a photo of their product. Very poor customer service to not replace a votive candle. Would not by from this company again!
I have ordered candles from Yankee for over 20 years and have never received a package with broken candles in it. The glass used in the jar seems thinner! I'm not sure that I'm willing to risk lighting these candles and walking away because of the flimsy nature of the glass. I'm returning all to my local store. Yankee please don't let your standards. I have always enjoyed the quality of your entire product but you will lose a dedicated customer if you're willing to rush quality and lower standards for a few pennies.
Ordered candles for my grandmother's 92nd birthday 6 days ago. I immediately got a hold on my credit card for the amount, and an email saying "we're getting your order together now". Six days later and the order is still in process? That's unacceptable to wait until the last minute to send because I chose the shipping option that said 8-10 days. That should be with leeway for the postal system. But to just not send for six days is pathetic. They're candles! And it's 2023. I have ordered from about 7 other stores in the meantime, shall and large, and have either received them or they are on their way. This is a very outdated company, and I will not be ordering from them anymore. Do better!
Had the worst experience buying from this brand. They have the worst customer service in the industry and have no concern for the end user. This seems to be a pattern throughout all the brands owned by their parent company Newell Brands.
The cherry on top was that they screened my negative review and blatantly told me that they would not let it get published on their website.
Never ever buying from them again.

I had an order quadrupled due to a checkout glitch. When notified, they said I had to wait to receive the items and then return 3/4 of the order for a refund. The return was received 3/2 and it is now 4/6 and I have yet to see a refund. It's enough money to matter. I have contacted customer service multiple times and I get promises but nothing happens. I can't even get connected to a supervisor despite insisting. The phone mysteriously drops the call at that point. I'm resorting to leaving negative reviews in the hopes that gets some attention.
Spent hundreds of dollars on 3 orders and 2 items arrived smashed. No response for a month now, after sending videos, at least 7 emails etc. The reason i purchased online in the first place is so i don't have to travel to their store. Never again.
Yankee candle customer service is horrible. My orders were split up and never received. I asked to speak with a management several times and was advised that the Supervisor was busy. Wow unbelievable.
I placed my order for Xmas gifts Dec. 6... 7 days later and no shipping confirmation... per site the items are in warehouse. Have emailed for the last 3 days without any response except for computer generated confirmation with a case number.

Stay away, don't be fooled. Ordered 6 candles on a deal that they had advertised, spend over $75.00 and get free shipping. No fine print. After I went through the order I noticed that I was being charged $15.40 for shipping so tried to cancel the order minutes afterwards. Called and emailed to cancel. Still received order with one less candle and got charged $36.81 from FedEx. Now they can't cancel it since its been delivered and returned so will keep. But after reviewing my Pay Pal account I was charged twice for the same order. After several emails and long awaited phone calls, they say they didn't charge me twice but the proof is on my credit card... STAY AWAY and NEVER ORDER from them...
It absolutely boggles my mind that your company is unable to provide a refund if I do not have an original receipt even if I used a credit card! If we happen to lose the recipe why are we then completely screwed out of out money? You already screw us over with the insane amount of money that is Yankee Candle. It's wax, give me a break. But to only then issue us a 'store gift card' or allow us an exchange is absolute crap. People lose things, especially receipts, but you already know that, thus your greedy no receipt no refund policy. Kohl's sells your candles for more than half off at times and there, you never need a receipt. They are still a multi-billion dollar company that has excellent customer service and reasonable prices all the time. You are an absolute trash company. Thank you for screwing me out of my money, as I'm sure you've done to millions before me. I won't be recommending nor buying anything from you again.
Ordered candles a month later they had not arrived. Went on the website but you cannot contact them by email so you have to call. After being on hold for an hour and a half I was told only one of the 8 candles I had ordered was still available. They offered to substitute random other candles--yeah that's what a customer want random smells. Awesome solution Yankee. Then I got to hold some more while I waited for a supervisor. Just fabulous customer service! Why did my candles never come? Why can't I email the company instead of wasting so much of my time to address their error? Why would anyone think random candle smells is a viable solution!
Recently I bought candles for me and my dying grandmother total 8. We got put under review and cancelled without even consulting us. The reason given the order was to large and they didn't approve that I used my fathers card to order. When we share a last name. What is in yankee candles to make them wonder what people do with them? My advice find a nice local shop and left these big box stores go out of business.

Yankee Candle has medium jar candles with 2 wicks now. Their toppers do not fit and there is actually less candle as well. When I brought this up and asked to return, I got nothing except computer generated replies or a reply from someone who didn't know how to reply. Very disappointed because I do like the candles.

I ordered online during the promo for buy 3 get 3 free. After they shipped my incomplete order I received an email saying they were out of 2 items. I was never asked if I would like a different scent, why would they they were free! Over an hour and still on hold! Never again, I can go to Kohl's, Hallmark etc. to get a Yankee Candle. For such a large company I'm very disappointed in their treatment of loyal customers! Try candles from Bath and Body or Old World Market! Better than Yankee Candle!
I never received my order and was told to check for it in my area outside or to wait several days since it might still arrive - several times the same comment. I used a chat - again unsuccessfully. Nothing happened of course Now it seems they are just ignoring me and hope I will go away. I won't and I am going to look into it what can be done. As far as I am concerned I fulfilled my side of the contract and they did get my money so the ball is in their court, I will keep pestering them - and this has happened before. I don't even know why I bother with them!
I have shopped at Yankee candles online throughout the whole pandemic and can safely say that I enjoy the experience most of the time. Sometimes I've had trouble with their check out, but they run sales and give you discount coupons pretty often so I end up getting my candles for quite cheap. I've never had any problems with shipping, all the items arrive wrapped carefully and sometimes even in separate boxes.
As for the scents, there are some scents that are much stronger than others. I've noticed that the square shaped candle jars last me longer than the round ones, so that's a little sad because it narrows down my selection. Their latest Christmas scents are lovely, and I recommend them.
Also pro tip: if you shop here a few times, Yankee Candle sends you discount coupons also for other stores like nakedwines.
After a little confusion over the order status and a call to Yankee to clarify what was happening I wanted to update to say that Yankee customer service was very helpful meriting a 4 star update. They answered the call quickly. The nice guy that helped me actually listened to my concerns/complaint and offered excellent customer service with a good resolution. Not sure I will use their online ordering again, but will continue to buy Yankee candles at my local store.
Placed an order online and was under the impression it was 6-8 days shipping. Needed the candles for a gift. Received an email stating they were working on the order and tracking info would follow. 6 days later and no tracking number so call customer service. After holding 20 minutes get told order not even ready to ship, can take 10-12 days then ship out! Asked if I could cancel the order and would go buy in store. Was told no I couldn't cancel. The next day the $100 pending charge was removed from my account. I guess that means they cancelled the order. No email or call to confirm what they did. Off to the store today to buy the gift. If my friend didn't specifically ask for YC I would have bought her something else.
