on 10/10/15If you can see their website, TURN THE POWER OFF. They have cost me US$660.20 on an order THAT WAS NEVER SENT IN THE FIRST PLACE. They admitted the tracking number invalid, they told me that if the seller didn't supply a valid tracking number with in two days they will refund my money. THAT WAS TWO WEEKS AGO and now they will not even answer my emails. Stay as far away from them as you can. Stick with eBay they are perfect in every way. Three times now there were items I didn't receive, eBay refunded me immediately. You can't get better than that.
I agree with David... My personal experience leads me to believe it's a well orchestrated scam... As to Jennys point, I've had a fair amount of experience ordering internationally and never experienced anything like this. I would have given them a zero if I could but you had to give them at least a one to post the review. I filed a fraud complaint with USPS because they produced fraudulent tracking information indicating I had received my package when I hadn't in order to justify not refunding my money. Never again for me with this site.
I wouldn't recommend using this site! I received a damaged wedding dress that looked absolutely NOTHING like the picture! The refund process is not as easy as the dhgate website states. They really expect you to accept a partial refund. I mistakenly chose a seller, PerfectOnline, with a Premium Merchant status & offered FREE return shipping, but it was a LIE! Some customers have stated the their return shipping was only a credit for future purchases.
I am one of the few people that actually received a refund through my bank's debit card. My bank did in 5 days what I couldn't negotiate with the customer service representative in over 15 days.
They are on Facebook & they systematically delete negative comments from customers inquiring about their refunds & sub-par craftsmanship.
IF you choose to ignore the countless negative comments from customers still waiting for refunds & hold on to the few positive feedbacks... then I can only suggest that you use a bank debit card or a credit card. BUT you need to ensure that your bank or credit card company will submit a claim for you on your behalf. I have read a comment on this site in which a person's bank did NOT issue a credit &/ or file a claim against dhgate because the purchase was not considered fraudulent.
I have been posting negative reviews about DHgates for about a year. Normally there was one or 2 replies. As you can see, DHgates has ruffled a lot of feathers. DHgates is an umbrella company that allow smaller companies that would not normally be allowed to sell to the US except they do it under the name of DHgates. DHgates does not take responsibility for the stuff that they allow to be sold under there umbrella. There is no consequence to the seller for selling junk. Until DHgates polices these companies (if ever), stay away. I purchased 256g memory sticks. They were all bad. I was lucky, I got my money back.
This site is shady! They want a photo copy of your credit card before they ship your order and that's AFTER they take you're money! Than if you refuse, you are deemed a difficult and demanding customer and they will take forever to refund your purchase, some people have never gotten their $ back. Save yourself the frustration and prevent yourself from getting ripped off! Shop elsewhere.
Not Reliable At all! Please beware, they are thieves and will take your money, say they are sending you what you ordered with a tracking #
Weeks later you receive a envelope with condoms with the same tracking # and they argue with you saying you received your order, even though you apparently didn't order condoms they will take your money... BEWARE
Don't waste your time buying anything from this site, nothing but headaches. They use pictures from real products, then make a bad quality reproduction of it and sell it to you as the real thing. They are very deceptive in their advertising/description. I was scammed twice from this site, there won't be a third. They also sometimes give you fake tracking #'s for the shipping after you pay them, resulting in you not getting what you paid for, or a big delay in getting your order.
STAY AWAY!
I CAN'T STRESS IT ENOUGH.
Don't buy anything from them. I don't think it's an out-and-out scam, but it is certainly a business model that comes out of a different kind of business thinking than we are accustomed to, and it apparently depends heavily on the lag time and inefficiencies of distance, awkward communication channels, language and cultural differences. In short, they offer products that look good, are very well priced, and sometimes arrive as advertised, but often do not,. Mostly, it seems, complaints are about the frustrating, slow, inept response to (many, many) problems. I believe they are banking on a large percentage of the people who have complaints eventually giving up.
