on 8/7/16Hi Ramorn!
This is a normal process for
1. All credit cards that have been used for the first time in the website.
2. Credit cards that do not match the account holder's name.
3. Shipping address of the account holder does not match with the billing address on the card.
4. There are some inconsistent information submitted during the payment process that did not match the credit card information.
5. Orders with large amount
You have 2 options on how to verify your payment.
1. Authorization Form- You need to fill this out and once you have filled out the form, you can send it to safetycenter@dhgate.com and use your order number as the subject. You can cover the first 6 and last 4 digits of your card then the CVV code at the back. You can then send this to safetycenter@dhgate.com and use your order number as the subject.
2. Authorization Code- It would be a six digit number or a combination of letters and numbers. It is not printed on your credit card but stored in your issuing bank. Every card transaction is assigned a unique authorization number, which is confidential and can only be obtained by the cardholder from the card-issuing bank. Please contact your card issuing bank to get the authorization number on the order. Once you have the code, you can send that to safetycenter@dhgate.com and use your order number as the subject.
If you wish not to provide any of the verification process, your order will be canceled and the refund will be processed for you.

Obviously people saying "don't do that" are just customers, but as a merchant accepting credit cards online from people all around the world, this practice to request a photo of the credit card is a security measure to avoid fraud.
They can't do anything with your photo, just cover the areas they asked you to cover and you will be fine, in my case, I ask people to cover everything except the last 5 digits of the credit card number. As soon as you send your credit card (not the photo), if the merchant is malicious / scam, they already can prejudice you.
All merchants have to obey rules of Visa / Mastercard / etc, and Visa has a rule about fraud, if a merchant has more than 1% of fraud, they will lose the ability to process credit cards. PayPal doesn't ask photo of credit card because they already have other advanced ways to confirm your identity.
People on this page complained about the photo of the credit card being used against the chargeback process. Yes, the merchant will use the photo if you chargeback, because chargeback is a crime (when you really bought on that store, performing a chargeback is a crime), there are exceptions: when someone used your card without your authorization, when you bought and not received the product.

I too have been asked by dhgate to do the authorization form. I think it is becsuse I wanted it shipped to a different place than my card billing address. I did call my bank and they have informed me that the center numbers and the ccv code on your card that they say you can cover when you send the picture are numbers they would need if they wanted to get your card number. I am still not confortable to do what they are asking. And they no longer accept paypal. Guess I wont be ordering there. One must be very careful to just send ic of credit card on internet period!
I tryed to answer but no way in this site. This my answer:
Never send a picture of you credit card! Pay by PayPal. Much safer Wasfi

NO< NO DHGate never ever ask you for picture of your credit card. I've been a shopper there for many yrs, but they never asked me this stupid thing. If you know the sellers name, you might want to report him/her.
They have a Telephone Toll-Free:+1(877)221-8517(USA & Canada Only)
Or you can talk to on Chat 24/7 http://dg.dhgate.com/contact/contactUs.do#pu1403-helptop-contactUs
Hope it helps.
Read carefully the reaction of serpentine "Riane" and understand who you're really dealing with. Since the invention of debit cards I have never come across such a request!
Instead of sending them a photo of your credit card you can shorten them significantly the Via Dolorosa if you send them the contents of your wallet with all credit cards and cash that you have...
If you still cannot derive from the vast majority of the comments that you are dealing with swindlers, forgers and thieves, try your own luck and in return buy yourself a place of honor in the Hall of Stupidity.
Sorry, my friend. There are far better ways to feed hungry people around this globe. Always make sure your feeding hand is not going to be bitten in return.
Newer send photo of your credit card to anyone, especially those three numbers on the other side!
Never!
Are they secure? My friend, it never happens that the site over to buy the betray the trust of the customer and resolve dispute in favor of the seller, although obviously the seller is not honest.
I am 60 years old, I have thousands of orders elsvere, I sell over eBay and such stupid experience I never had.

Do not give them any more info from the cc#, exp date and code in the back when you open the account. I never have a problem with Dh gate even when I have a wrong machine send it to me I returned and I open the case all my money was return to my credit card but take a little more time. Also they have a chat 24/7 you can shoot a any questions and they'll answer.
Definitely not. Just the fact that u felt apprehensive when asked needs to be enough. Go with your gut feeling. No one should ever ask for something like that. I agree with the person who pays with pay pal. Better for only one company to have your info. Consider checking out PayPal for future payments
P s. I wouldn't deal with Dhgate in the first place. I've been ripped off by a number of companies that are actually Dhgate. They've sent inferior merchandise, nothing like ive ordered and refuse to give money back or to send the merchandise I really did order.
