Question:

What sets the minimum bid?

Answer:

Hi Clifford, We appreciate your interest on Hubzu. We also apologize for the late response. The starting bid amount is set by the seller prior to the auction period. This is normally a percentage, but definitely lower than the seller's reserve price. The reserve is the undisclosed amount that seller has in mind to sell the property for. It is not shown to bidders but it will be indicated on the property page if the reserve is met. Please keep in mind that the bid amount that can be submitted online may not be lower than what is currently indicated on the listing whether it is the "starting bid amount" or the "current highest bid amount". Should you need further assistance or need more information regarding auctions and how it works, please don't hesitate to contact us at customeradvocacyteam@altisource.com with your contact information and specific property details or Hubzu Customer Care at 855-882-1314. We thank you for the opportunity to respond to your concerns and hope to meet your expectations in the future. Thanks, Altisource Customer Advocacy Team

Question:

I was the highest bidder of 2613 rita lane huntsville al, 35810. the bid was not accepted and it says that 66k was the highest-false please advise

Answer:

Hi Marcy, Because many bidders may have experience with traditional auction formats, a Hubzu bidder may think they have won the right to purchase the property because they have the highest bid. This is not always the case. Reserve price is one factor that may prevent the highest bidder from winning the property. A reserve price is the minimum the seller is willing to accept for the property in an auction. If a bidder disagrees with the reserve, we encourage the bidder to still bid on the property for what they would be willing to pay. Because if an auction ends without the reserve price being met, and no selected bidder is declared a winner, then the seller reserves the right to accept a lower bid, negotiate with a bidder, or propose new terms to the bidders. It is important to note, it is also the sellers right to simply relist the property for auction again. If there is anything else we can do to provide you with more information regarding auctions or assist you in future properties, please don't hesitate to contact us at customeradvocacyteam@altisource.com with your contact information and specific property details or Hubzu Customer Care at 855-882-1314. We thank you for the opportunity to respond to your concerns and hope to meet your expectations in the future. Thanks, Altisource Customer Advocacy Team

Question:

Answer:

Hi Cinda, It is our pleasure to assist you. Being the highest bidder doesn't necessarily mean that you are the winner on Hubzu. Reserve price is one factor that you might want to take a note of. A reserve price is the minimum price the seller is willing to accept for the property in an auction. The reserve price is set by the sellers and is not shown to buyers; however, the property details page shows if the reserve price has been met. If an auction ends without the reserve price being met, no selected bidder is declared. However, the seller reserves the right to accept a lower bid, negotiate with a bidder, propose new terms to the bidders or relist the property. You may visit our FAQ section for more info at https://www.hubzu.com/about/faq#auctions or call us directly at 855 882 - 1314 for immediate assistance. Thanks, Altisource Customer Advocacy Team
