Here’s what consumers have asked with answers from IHeartDogs staff and previous consumers.
Hi Sandy! You will not be charged any hidden fees - just shipping and handling as described when you check out.
Thanks for your question Anne! 20% of our sales goes toward feeding shelter animals. Plenty of shelters throughout America have more demand for pets than they have animals, yet in other parts of the country there are shelters overrun with pets and not enough funding to keep them alive. These are adoptable animals with many years of love to share with potential owners, yet their lives are ended before they get a chance at a family. We have partnered with GreaterGood.org to contribute travel miles for every Second Chance Movement product purchased in the collection to charities that facilitate the transportation by road and by air of adoptable pets from areas of low-demand to areas of high-demand. I hope this helps! These items can be purchased here: https://iheartdogs.com/second-chance-movement/
Hi Barbara! Thanks for your question. IHeartDogs is not a charity. We are just a privately owned for-purpose, for-profit veteran-run company. We partner with charities and use each product as a fundraising and awareness vehicle for the important causes we support. Like all businesses, we have overhead that includes employees, rent/utilities, and campaigning costs to reach as many passionate people (like yourself), that we can. When we created this program, we asked ourselves, "what is the absolute maximum amount we can possibly donate to our charity partners, and still cover our expenses?" - the number we came up with was 20% of sales. Hope this info. Helps! :)
Hi Haily! In 2014, inspired by his rescued Siberian Husky Splash, Justin Palmer started a Facebook page called I Love Dogs. The page quickly grew to over a million fans and in 2015, Justin cofounded iHeartDogs.com with Marshall Morris, an army veteran. Inspired by their passions for helping shelter dogs and supporting our veterans, Justin and Marshall built a line of products that give back to shelters and raise money to provide service dogs for veterans in need. :)
Hi Alisa! Great question! We donate 20% of sales to donate meals shelter dogs. Just to clarify, iHeartDogs/iHeartCats is not a charity. Rather, we partner with charities to use products as a fundraising and awareness vehicle for the causes we support. Like all business, we have overhead that includes more than 50 employees, rent, marketing costs, and much more. When we created this program, we asked ourselves what is the most we can possibly donate to our charity partner, and still cover our expenses? The number we came up with was 20% of the sales amount. As a bit of background, the average company in the USA gives 2.1% of their pre-tax profits to charity. In 2016, our business gave over 35% of our profits. We love the fact that youre passionate about charities getting as much funding as possible. Below is a link to our partner charity in case you would like to donate directly where 100% of the funds will go to the cause and we dont take a dime:) http://rescuebank.org/make-a-donation/
Hi Tina! If you never received an email confirmation, it may have gotten stuck in your spam folder. It's also possible that your order was not placed and what you are seeing is an authorization charge that by now will have dropped off of your account. Contact our Customer Support Team at orders@iheartdogs.com with your order number and they will figure out what happened.
Hi George! At this point in time we carry a few hundred items and have products made responsibly in the U.S. A, Canada and multiple other countries all depending on logistics, safety and quality. Because we don't control the actual manufacturing of many products (ceramic coffee mugs, for example), we rely on trusted suppliers in the U.S. to provide us with the product. I would note that any consumable (supplement, treat, etc.) that we offer for pets IS made in the U.S.A. in human grade facilities. For all of our products, we work with multiple organizations (including our non profit shelter partner, RescueBank) to ensure that product quality and viability is present for our shelter giveback programs. This is one of the reasons why we were able to feed over 6,000,000 shelter dogs in 2016. In addition to our work with shelters, we are activists in changing the treatment of animals in many countries. In China, for example, we are working with local organizations and local leaders to stop the Yulin Dog Festival and change the fundamental way animals are treated. We even participate in flying rescued animals out of foreign countries into the U.S. to be taken care of and adopted out. Whenever we can have influence over where and how a product is made we exercise that responsibility as best we can so that in the end, the greatest impact is made possible. If you know of any US suppliers/manufacturers that make any of the products we sell - please let us know here: https://iheartdogs.typeform.com/to/OX2sNS - thanks!
