I did send over 1000$ to my US account from Europe. The mail said the money should have come in by now but this is not the case. After reaching out to 3 different customer service employees the chat always went silence after sending the wire number. No support what so ever but we will keep pushing. After calling and mailing them and waiting 1,5weeks we got the money back!
Terrible service from a money transfer company who promise the world and deliver a barren atoll. Subject to fraudulent scammers their systems are suspect and compromised. Don't ever ever use, bad follow up bad customer service. Just an absolute disaster to deal with.

This company is absolutely awful, I used them for about half a year on and off to send money abroad to my friends who are in need and what does this company do? In one moment they just inform my account has been suspended for some rules violation and they list usual scenarios but never explain precisely nothing that I am guilty of and worse yet, it is not me who needs to be guilty of anything but any of my receivers too to warrant punishing me with denial of service according to their fancy rules.
I appealed their suspension and they took few weeks to consider it and email me that I am permanently deactivated and they would not answer anything.
It is beyond me why they do such given used the service and certainly Remitly takes their share from each delivery, guess it wasn't enough for you $#*!ers of a company that leave my friends to suffer as I have to find alternatives. If you do business with this company, be assured they will sooner or later suspend and deactivate your account and as usual along their bad business behaviour, refuse to explain anything.

Best not to provide your credit card number directly, use third party instead as Remitly reviews of other people look very shady. I gladly never used my card directly.

I used a Visa card with about a $10,000 credit limit to try to send a gift via PIX in Brazil to a friend who had lost his computor in the flood last May. It was to be a Christmas gift. Just about $735. Not a huge amount for him to buy a computor. All the people I spoke with were in an Indian call center and had Indian accents. The transfer was paused and I was grilled by "security: for maybe 45 minutes.who was I sending it to? What is his relation to me? How long had I known him (since 2008) What was he using it for? What is your source of income? Who was your last employer? I have an excellent credit rating and thought his questions were outrageous I told him my bank account I had thousands (I told him the amount)...In the end he wanted a pdf of my last bank statement. That did not reflect my current balance so I told him that. (November).In the end I complied and sent Remitly a copy of my last bank statement with a lot of information I think they had no business having. Then I spoke with a customer service person and asked when the pause would be lifted. Once again she asked me his name and how long I had known him and she talked about how was for my security etc. all the delay and something about sending money to someone I had never met and I corrected her and said I had met this person and had been to Brazil to visit him and his family... Finally the "pause" was lifted at my request the the money was processed and sent. I assured the customer service representive I would never use their company again. Never. I regret the time and energy I wasted today. The exchange rate was good and in the end it arrived fast, but they charge 3% for credit cards. To me they are a dreadful company and I would like to file a complaint about their invasion of my privacy and grilling when I have an excellent credit rating which they could have checked as they had my card number name, birth date (which they ask for right away) and address. I may complain to the better business bureau about their behavior. Further note: I see they have so many bad one star reviews. I hope my personal information like my bank statement, credit card number, date of birth name and address do not get used in nefarious ways in the future. They come up high in the search engine and that is why I used them. I had no idea they appear to be the worst rated money transmission services maybe in the entire world.

That is what the Remitly site makes it seem like. I see other people have also had negative experiences proving their identity etc. with that company.

Remitly is operated by a bunch of incompetent clowns. I sent a transfer but made a careless type fault. Instead of typing the number ending by...557 I inadvertantly typed...558 meaning that the recipient's name and the phone owner's name were totally different yet the transfer successfully proceeded. When I quickly notified Remitly, they simply stated that the transfer was successfully completed thus they couldn't reverse it and refund me. Upon my insistance, they finally promised they would contact the financial institution urgently for a reversal. It's been 2 months and haven't seen the least penny back despite a bevy of customer service reps telling me I'll be refunded. Instead of paying reps to inanely utter prefabricated affirmations you should invest on systems and reps that can spot the difference between a transfer recipient's name being Jane Murray and a phone owner named Patty Jones(fictitious names). My 4 year-old niece noticed the difference in about 3 seconds. You should be ashamed of pretending to be a credible money transferring company. You are only dimwitted wannabes. Never again will I use your services and made it my duty to convince everyone who needs to send/receive money to go out of their way to avoid dealing with crappy amateurs like you.

I paid for plane tickets for refugees from Ukraine living in the Country of Georgia. They needed travel money to get through customs. I went through all of their security checks then tried to send. My first attempt I sent it to myself, quickly stopped it. Remitly blocked me, because used the wrong address. To fix it the customer service rep. Said I needed another email account, so I used hers. The first card I tried there was a hold from November I didn't know about. I appealed to plead my case, which I still don't know what happened. The Ukraine family did not get the funds, they already moved out of their apartment and focused everything they had towards leaving. I don't know how or why, but I became red flagged and no one would take my cash and send it. I put everything I had into this, the Ukrainian refugees are out in the cold and my future looks bleak. Thank you Remitly. And I still have no reason for their decision?

This is Remitly modus operandi: They first cancel the transaction arguing that there was a problem with your bank (untrue), but they keep the money. Then they go dark and let you chase them using a front line support who only offers scripted excuses. They stole $5000 from me this way.

Don't bother using remitly. I don't know why they are in business. Their fraud system would stop an old grandpa from sending money to his kids. Go somewhere else. Remitly will probably go out of business or bought by another company for pennies

They legit suck. They suspended my account after asking 100 verification questions. No regard for what a person is using their app for. No wonder if i'll ever receive a refund of the transaction. The lady over the phone refused to share the reason of suspension as well. I repeat never use it.

Beware of this company, if something gets wrong you are screwed. The costumer service is horrible and unprofessional. Every time I call or text to know what happen to my bank deposit I get new story. Either they don't know what they are talking about or they are l just lying to me. Meanwhile, I'm still running to behind my money after a month for a transaction that supposed to take 3 days. The first few times I used Remitly I was really pleased with the ease and speed of transaction, so I accepted that the conversion rate was not the best. However today I tried to transfer $3500 USD. About an hour later I received an email asking for a copy of my passport photo page. When the money was not deposited in recipient account 6 hours later, I got on line with the 24 hour chat. The rep told me my document submission was received and money would arrive in 2-8 hours. I asked if she could confirm it would arrive in 8 hours. She "could not guarantee." Then I asked her to cancel,and she said she could "request" it but it would take 10 days "if approved." So of course now I'm stuck because I can't tie up the money for 10 days. Do not use this service!

I heard Remitly was a faster option. I did an Express transaction and not only was it not instant like they claim, it took over 12 days to arrive. On the tenth day, they hadn't contacted me and I had to reach out to THEM and then they sent me an email to update information I had already provided. To make matters worse they promised they'd refund my 20 dollars payment along with a 5 dollar bonus for the inconvenience and it's been a month. Absolutely nothing was returned. The transfer was for important meds for a family member and they royally screwed me over. I do not recommend this app at all, it's super slow and doesn't even have a good transfer rate.

I used to use Remitly quite often until they decided to change the sending options as express (lower Rate) & economy (slightly better rate) but only via bank transfer.
I think this is sad as I always use my debit card.

I created an account, sent money to an individual who did work for me remotely, and then received an email moments later that I was now locked out of my account for suspicious activity! They claimed I signed in multiple times which looked suspicious which was untrue because I never logged out of the site after making the transfer. I contacted them and they said they closed my account and that I could no longer use their service. Absolute trash of a business. Do not use this company. How they're still in business is beyond me. Garbage.

This is my first time using remitly, I thought i will give a try. I am so disappointed my family have to wait 5 days before the funds available in the bank to withdraw. I've been using other money remitance company it will just takes minutes boom the funds is already transfered to their bank account and ready for withdraw. You can not say its the bank end has an issue, because I am using same bank and same account#. This is a scam. Never using this company again, If i could put negative i would.

Beware of this company. We had used them for 10 years, and they cancelled our account with no warning. Didn't find out until tried to make important transfer to someone who needed it badly. Called, and no explanation, we were just canceled. We could not know why. Because of that we had to scramble to find another means to send the money and there was a delay.

I have been trying to received a transaction history for year 2023, and have been waiting to received their email for over 2 month's.
I have talk with several employees including a "supposedly" manager who had the guts to lie to me over the phone telling me that She would make sure that my request is fulfill between 2 hours to 24 hours period. This was 2 days ago. Her name is Rewan E., and she is a liar.
I use this application to send thousands of dollars to support my family in South America.
Needless to say, I will no longer trust a company that straight up lie to customers upon their requests. They record every conversation for "training", but obviously, those recordings are useless.
I sincerely hope that this review gets to be seen by someone at their headquarters in Washington that really cares about customer satisfaction, and not only profit millions of dollars.
They loss me as a client. I will begin to use another company to trust my money.

I send money 3 days ago and the receiver was supposed to received it at 720 pm on Saturday. Everytime I called remitly the representative tells me a different story of why the receiver haven't receive it. I ask for a refund since day1 I was told I can't get a refund until their partner re turn the money. Next day call they wanted the receiver addresses so the process glean go faster. I was a load of bull they refunded me the fee. Day 2 called different stories and receiver still has not gotten the money. Finally on day 3 they said they will refund the money to me but it will take 10 days before I could get it since their so call partner did not send the money back. Don't use remitly unless you want to get scam.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I made a transfer a few months back that was never process by the the bank recipient. I called customer service and put in a request to get the transaction looked at and after the investigation was done, they concluded the transfer was never process which ended up in a refund. Fast forward to now and I'm trying to utilize the app again only to find out my account has been suspended and it is their final decision. I did not get any explanation/reasons for this decision as their customer service stated they did not have the authorization to disclose the information. Please don't waste your time and if you could avoid this app at all cost.

Incredibly good experience with Remitly, support between June 7 and 11. I sent 800 euros to my wife in Saint Petersburg for surgery on June 11. A day later, after sending I received an email that the amount was on hold. It finally worked out that the bank requires middle name as I understand many not use this in Russia, anyway the Russian bank declined and ended up with stress money was blocked for some period. But Remitly US support was amazing, they did all to correct it and even confirmed they will change the process a bit for customer to avoid next time issues to validate you must give the middle name as well. Very impressed by how they convert the stress we got with the Russian receivers bank to handle all and used other bank and got our money paid out. Big thanks to the support for this. Absolute amazing.
