Trading through alibaba provides peace of mind that your transactions are secured and you are trading with professionals. I will always buy from this platform and I recommend it to others. We also buy a lot of things for my work. Everything I have ordered in Australia always arrives on time and buying the products and selecting them has been made so easy through Alibaba. Very happy with the service!
Even when you provide Trade Assurance with clear evidence a supplier has commited fraud, they will still side with the supplier. Please do not trust that Trade Assurance will help you or protect you as a customer in any way. You just pay extra when paying to Alibaba. That's it. And it's impossible to get help from customer service.

I recently purchased an ingredient from a supplier, Ci'an Julong Import and Export Co. On their alibaba Dote the price per kilogram is written as A$184.23. When I placed an order I was told the price is in US$ and in addition to it the supplier quoted US$60 for courier. The supplier promised the product will be despatched within 5 days. It is now more than two weeks, I'm yet to get a tracking number for the parcel. I wanted my money to be refunded through Alibaba trade insurance. The supplier provided their response and Alibaba asked for my response to the supplier's comments. If I don't respond within 5 days, Alibaba automatically accepts the supplier decision not to refund the money. I went into Alibaba to respond, the system does not allow me to respond. I escalated asking for refund and Alibaba came back immediately with a response stating they made the decision to refund. I am a gold buyer and still there is no protection buying anything on Alibaba site. Never trust Alibaba services. They are untrustworthy!
Tip for consumers:
Do not trust Alibaba refund policy. Furthermore, buyers need to be aware Alibaba supplier will have in your local currency to entice you to buy the product. When you go to pay, the will say it is US$. Furthermore, don’t trust the shipping services the supplier promise. You will pay for express courier such as DHL, FedEx but they will use China pos and pocket the rest of the money.

Communication is in most cases hard due to language barriers. Also at times the people I communicate with don't know the answers for my questions (they are not well involved in the manufacturing process) and they don't often like to ask their managers.
And the other HUGE issue is shipping - such HUGE service like Alibaba MUST hae much better shipping deals with Curriers!

I ordered a clock spring for my lexus lx-470 off ali express and it took 45 days to arrive. When i got it, it was a used part (advertised as new) and after being installed, it didn't work

don't order from ali baba or ali express!
I was just charged a 25% export duty tax on a 5500. Order. If you do any business with suppliers on Alibaba watch out most are a bunch of thieves. I am finished doing business with these pricks.
Most sellers just looking for money not business, I was trying to communicate for business for my company to buy from him products I just asked about the sample and he was only asking for money first
Do not understand 50 Us dollar charge on the administrative on the item which was priced as $95. The total price was still reasonable but feel like taken for a ride.

Accessories to protect the phone should be offered with the phone purchase. It is not easy to find the correct one for the phone model as there are lot of similar phones.
