DO NOT GET ALLSTATE!
My Dad was an Allstate customer for 70 years. I was an Allstate customer for 10 years, until today. I'm canceling my home and auto insurance and never recommending Allstate to anyone after this experience with a claim. Repairs were under 5000 and Allstate has drug their feet with supplements and payouts for my claim. I've called Allstate over 20 times for 30 days for a repair that could've taken 1 week. Now my rental policy max is up and they refuse to extend it. Oh but they offered a "possible reimbursement" after I foot the bill and send the invoice. HA!
Switching to State Farm.
I'd give 0 as the rating if that were possible. My fence and home were hit by a vehicle. The driver had Allstate. After 4 months, Allstate offers to pay half of the estimate to fix our property. Stating they don't have to pay certain contractor's fees and such, and only wanting to pay for sections of the fence that were destroyed. Claims agent was unreachable by phone and had several excuses as to why he couldn't respond in a timely manner to my emails. It is 0% my fault, that their insured destroyed my property to the time of $42,000.00. The company also has never responded to 2 letters from an attorney. I will never recommend Allstate to anyone and I am actively telling anyone who has Allstate to switch immediately.
If there was a zero rating, I would choose it. No customer service that I received was satisfying. Everyone was rude. Every time I requested road assistance, I ended up calling others. They are no help at all and have no empathy for their customers at all! Paying for $#*!!
Had them for years, then had an accident. They claimed suddenly I was behind on my premiums and said they already dropped me. Because I had an accident without insurance, I lost my licence. Add insult to injury, they finally got around to refunding my six month of premiums they had the whole time. Money sucking bastards is what they are.
I have three policies with Allstate and have been with them over 30 years and have road side assistance also with them. Every experience with them was horrible. Why do I stay with them? I am 83 years old and have a grandfathers auto policy with them. Pretty much means no matter what, they cannot drop me. Please don't get stuck with them like I did. Get an insurance company that is there for you when you need them. Also their customer service is atrocious.
I was rear-ended by an Allstate insured who admitted he was at fault, and Allstate made me pay for a rental car while mine was being repaired at their approved body shop, and they are deaf when contacting them to reimburse me for the rental car. I am still waiting for an adjuster to contact me about my neck injury. The accident happened on Sept. 14 and still waiting on Oct. 24th. I feel that they actually want me to contact a lawyer to finally settle this!
It is the worst insurance company when come to claim. My roof was damaged badly, discussed with them over six months, no progress. Neighbor's roof with less damage, but their insurance company replaced their roof very fast. Never buy any insurance from this company.
I was hit in my BMW 740i by one of their insured, was sent a joke of a quote by the adjuster after taking all of the pictures and doing their job for them. They tried to put me in a Mitsubishi Mirage while my BMW was getting repaired which is way to small for my work equipment. Explained to them why I needed a bigger vehicle for my work and was given a Toyota Corolla, a tiny tin can also not sufficient for me to do my job. This is after they had made this "big sacrifice" and promised me a mid size sedan. They never put the upgrade in the system. I can't even use this car and will drop it back off today. I will be borrowing another car from a family member. This whole thing has been a nightmare and they have done nothing to make the situation better. Horrible company if you have to make a claim with them. Avoid if you can.
We had a major home loss from a hailstorm in May. This is October and we are still dealing with the adjusters. I can't imagine a worse experience. Our main contact was so difficult to understand or to communicate with we asked for her to be replaced several times. We would send them documents and they would be lost. This would add to the stalling of getting the claim finalized. The Contractor we used dealt with several different insurance companies for this storm. He also said of all the insurance companies out there, Allstate is the absolute worst. Beware of this company.
I purchased a one year policy for car insurance with Allstate in 2021 for a decent price. By 2022 it went up $500. I assumed it was because toward the end of the 12 month policy I traded in my car which was a 2012 Cadillac for a 2017 Cadillac. Then they sent me a bill for $3,882. I immediately switched to progressive who offered me car insurance for $75/month. When I called Allstate to get a refund they said I would be charged $235 for less than a month of coverage. I'm so disappointed with Allstate, the fact that I'm paying $235 for less than a month of insurance for a policy I never agreed to is so wrong. It's been so hard to get a hold of anybody at Allstate. And every time I have talked to an agent they tell me different things.
Went to cancel my insurance after purchase insurance with another provider and they told me they would continue to bill me until after they notified my mortgage lender - however long that would take them - regardless that I already had replaced them. This is after they raised the cost of insurance on my home by $1,000.00. They are a bait and switch insurance company.
I have had 2 encounters with an Allstate customer hitting me and it being the other persons fault. Even the police reports said it was the other persons fault. But Allstate does their own BD investigation and always comes back and days we find it was not our customers fault therefore you get nothing. Now I have insurance and I can get the car fixed again but this is just plain BS. They do not pay out claims. The car is damaged and because of the damage water is getting in now and they will not even look at the car. They made a dedication based on their customers testimony and did not even look at my car or ask me any questions.
I paid for roadside assistance for months and the first time I tried to use it I never got a tow truck. After being told Allstate could not get me a tow truck an hour later, I was asked to get my own tow truck. At the time I had no way to pay for the service. I thought that the reason I had roadside assistance was so I'd never be stranded. Well, it was 20 degrees and stranded is exactly what happened. The next morning I was forced to repair my vehicle in UNO's Pizzeria parking lot. Allstate could provide no answer as to why this happened. In the end, Allstate only pays $125 for tow and if you don't have balance you are out of luck. I thought I was paying for roadside assistance to prevent being stranded and that's exactly what Allstate leads you to believe while they sell the service. (Or lack of service)
I get this supplemental insurance through my work. I got cancer in 2017 and luckily was with AFLAC. They paid out after five days and I received my money.
This year we have allstate. I got online and tried to create an account but it would not let me. I called in for assistance. They said it was because they entered the wrong zip code. So, I put in the one they gave me. Still does not work. Asked for it to be fixed same day since it was their mistake and I have already been on hold for 30 minutes.
I truly believe they do this on purpose so they do not have to pay out. They are counting on people giving up trying to get their money so they do not have to pay.
I will be recommending we change carriers. I will be cancelling this policy and going back to AFLAC.
I canceled my motorcycle policy, but they still ended up charging me for the next month. I just saw this past due bill 6 weeks after I cancelled. I verified multiple times on the day that I called to cancel my policy to make sure that everything was paid for and I would not be billed more and they told me everything was current. Now the woman on the phone tells me that even though my bill is set for the 4th of each month that it renews on the 27th of each month. No one has ever told me this before and they are just trying to get more money from me when I did not have coverage through them.
Been with Allstate for 17+ years, numerous vehicles, home, and umbrella liability. They sure are fast to take your money but good luck if you ever actually need them. One of our vehicles got totaled and it took OVER A MONTH for them to pay our claim. We started calling everyone involved twice a day to complain... that is, once we got past the phone bots and got numbers for actual people. Our so-called agent/agency did NOTHING. I learned so much about car insurance (!) because I got to do everything myself! Customer loyalty or longevity means nothing to them, either. Stay away. Just stay away. An accident is traumatic enough without having to do everyone's job for them and hound them to pay a legitimate claim. Buh-bye, Allstate. I'd give zero stars if I could.
If you ever need to make a claim be prepared for a fight. The will do everything in their power to not pay. They don't car about only your premiums. They truly are criminals. Don't be fooled your not in good hands you just get the finger.
A woman came into my lane striking me it cost a Allstate a whole $1000 to fix a minor scratch basically. They raised my monthly premium from $247.00 to $777.00!
Ten thumbs down to Allstate, they lie and raise your rates ungodly!
We called Allstate to tell them a woman ran into us. I told them it is not a claim because she ran into us. We were promised a thorough investigation. The accident happened at a gas station parking lot. We called the gas station and asked if they had cameras covering the parking lot. They said yes. We believe the woman was visiting someone who works at the gas station, or she works there herself. The gas station is not allowing us to get the footage of the accident from the camera. The woman lied and said my husband hit her. We want to prove the accident was her fault not ours. Now we will have to get a lawyer to help us get the footage to prove our innocence. Allstate is saying that the accident cost will be shared between the two insurance companies. I do not call that an investigation. That means for the first time in about 55 years there will be an accident on my husband's driving record. That is so unfair.

My car was damaged by the guy who had insurance with this Allstate.
