I purchased a Hamilton pilot pioneer quartz watch, which just arrived. The battery was dead right out of the box as it was not ticking even after setting the watch and pushing in the crown, and the chronograph buttons are not working.
Emailed the company's customer service to ask if they would compensate me for a battery change if I provide receipts. It has been 3 days, going on 72 hours, and still no word from anybody. Decided to call the company and supposedly their phone lines are down. 3 days after my order arrived I'm sitting here with a dead watch and no way of getting in touch with anybody. Unacceptable service for a modern e-commerce business where I'm sure the average individual order value is hundreds or thousands of dollars.
Won't be doing business with the company again nor would I recommend them to anyone else.

My only issue is how it arrived. The case the item came in was securely set inside the box it was transported in. However, when I opened the box I was surprised to see that the watch was not wrapped around the pillow that came with the original box. Instead it was wrapped around another pillow outside the enclosure. I can only imagine what the watch went through while being transported. Thankfully the watch appears to be working just fine, but I was not pleased with the way it was packaged.
I liked the fact that I was able to speak to someone in customer service who was very knowledgeable when answering my questions and concerns regarding certain items. Very patient and courteous as well.
I chosed Ashford through research and reading reviews. I also liked the fact that Ashford is certified with the Better Business Bureau. That gave me peace of mind to go forward with making a purchase.
