AT&T Reviews Summary

The reviews reflect a predominantly negative perception of the company's overall reputation and customer service. Customers frequently express frustration with long wait times, ineffective support, and unresolved billing issues, leading to a sense of distrust and dissatisfaction. Complaints about unauthorized charges and poor communication from representatives are common, suggesting systemic problems in service delivery. While there are occasional mentions of product reliability, the overwhelming sentiment indicates that customers feel neglected and undervalued. This pattern points to a pressing need for the company to improve its customer service protocols and enhance accountability to regain consumer trust.

Worst internet
May 29, 2023

Extreme disappointing experience. They provide 50mbps plan for $55 dollars and the internet I experience is less than 25 mbps. Stay away.

We put up with them because we were paying off phones, but switched to a different carrier 1 day into the AT&T billing cycle. Our last bill with AT&T is 2/3 of our regular monthly bill for AT MOST 2 days of service. The representative my husband spoke with was trying to actually justify this charge. Save yourself and do NOT go with AT&T. I definitely regret it and will NEVER go back. Lots of issues the couple years that we were stuck with them. The service never did work quite right and "customer service" was unhelpful. Umm, well yeah, clear the cache and history. A 10 year old could tell you that.

AT&T is the worst Cell service I've ever had. My family switched about a year ago, with getting a trade out of our own phones for new Galaxy S21's. The first S21 they sent me was scratched on the screen and didn't latch on to ANY Type-C chargers that I have or the gas station had. Our agent said they'd replace it with a new one, all I had to do was go to the nearest AT&T store, but all the AT&T stores I went to claimed that and i quote, "thats not how this works". I had to contact the Agent, and he decided to send the new one himself. The new one came and the Galaxy s21 still didn't latch on to any Type C chargers. Worst Cell Service. Horrible customer service.

Worst provider I have ever used. It is so slow and very annoying. I would give it 0 stars if I could. It will randomly shut my phone off. You'd be better off without a phone tbh. FOR YOUR OWN SAKE DO NOT GET AT&T!

After the passing of our husband/father, we went to At&t in Pueblo, CO to work on transferring data from his phone to mom's. We worked with Connie and she was absolutely AMAZING. She was compassionate, patient, kind, and very knowledgeable! She made the experience seamless and even joyful! Thank you, Connie!

Good luck getting your AT&T prepaid phone unlocked when you are first eligible – or EVER. They just don't do it, even though they have "pledged" on line to do so. (Google: "CTIA and AT&T", to see the pledge unless they've taken it down by now). The pledge has been well-hidden on their own website. During your trials with customer "service", you may be told such things as "cannot find that IMEI number, enter your request again" or "you need to call the manufacturer for the unlock code". Your only hope to EVER get it is to file an "informal" complaint on the FCC website. Almost immediately, you'll get a robot E-mail from AT&T promising to "assist with the problem". In about 2 weeks, you'll finally get the unlock code "obtained from the manufacturer". Too late? Too bad! Based on my experience, AT&T either lost the code or failed to record it to begin with, as they never intended to unlock it – part of their business plan, I suppose. As I said – Good Luck!

They lied to get us to sign up for their service, told us our bill would be lower than the company we had… THEY LIED! Our bill was more than 50 bucks higher, when we tried to cancel the first month they lied again and said it would only be that high for the first 3 months… come October I can't wait to get rid of at&t

Lies
May 25, 2023

All they do is tell lies for you to sign up for their services. Next thing you know you have a bill for over $700. I was told that I was to receive a rewards gift card that I never received. The deal that I was quoted when someone showed up at my door never happened. At this point I will switch back to Spectrum or go to Verizon!

AT&T has improved drastically regarding to their coverage over the years. I was rarely without service. And I almost always had 5G. But as a whole, these big phone carrier companies suck. Customer service sucks. By phone is always someone who doesn't speak good enough English for me to understand what they are saying and chats always sound like I'm talking to an AI robot. Options for plans is so limited. Minimum of $75 a month for a plan with more than half of stuff i don't need. That price doesn't include all the other stuff they want you to pay for. Phone payment plan, insurance, programs, fraud/theft, tech services, caller blocking, etc. in the end I would pay over $100 a month minimum. They also really tie you into a contract. They might give you $800 for your phone but it's not $800 off, they just apply it by credit over 2-3 years. Wowza. Trying to transfer your phone line is a hassle. It took me over 2 hours. I had to pay off the device, request a phone unlock, request for fraud protection to be removed, request for my line to be cleared for transfer, and then a transfer pin. Verizon is way worse than AT&T but I still don't want to ever go back to a big phone company.

I switched my business phones from Verizon to AT&T. The biggest business mistake I've ever made. The salesman lied about absolutely everything. Trying to get any answers from their customer service is impossible. It is hard to believe that a company, the size of AT&T is run like a company that two high school kids run out of their garage. At this point, I am debating whether to just cut my losses or seek legal action. Never again!

Trust me this company isn't organized and everything is SUPER complicated. I thought I was going to get my $800 applied for trading in old Samsung, well that didn't happen bc they flagged the phone as being on the black list. What a joke! I keep trying to log onto the My AT&T App and there is a glitch that won't allow me to. Also when I called customer service they don't even recognize my number for assistance. When I tell you to steer clear of this company PLEASE LISTEN! I have only been a customer 30 days and it's been a turbulent start. I seriously regret it but it's my fault I should have done more research.

During transfer of my account to Verizon (due to AT&T's poor service), there was poor communication by AT&T, resulting in my account being shuttled back and forth between the two companies. AT&T did not maintain my current calling plan during this process (an obvious and basic expectation), so I was charged $368 in fees that should not have been charged, and my account was sent to collections before I could even reach AT&T.
MY ADVICE - AVOID THIS UNSCRUPULOUS COMPANY

I called AT&T Rewards Center today since I received an AT&T rewards Visa card for $100 and due to some mailing issues with our home address, by the time I got the possession of this Rewards VISA Card, the Card was already expired and I couldn't activate/use my $100 rewards Visa Card.

So, I called AT&T Rewards Center to issue me a new card and they told me that they will not reissue me another card since it was my fault to not use the card.

I have been an AT&T customer since 2007 and this is a bad customer service from AT&T to make a loyal older customer upset about just $100 and AT&T will lose a loyal customer starting today itself.

Trash services
May 21, 2023

Terrible company at providing services for paying customers don't wast your money. Go to a company that is NOT AT&T or affiliated with similar services that they do not even provide. If you need to experience it to learn a to stay away so be it, just know you were warned. They need to include 0 stars or even negative ones. Waiting until June for services to be reinstated when you charge customers account is incomprehensible.

Truly Terrible
May 19, 2023

Awful. They destroyed 1/2 an acre of a front lawn by leaving cables and power cords everywhere for months to put in a land line (We lose power in the area and specified /paid for a land line). As the cords ran over 1/2 acre of grass for months, we could not use our irrigation system. When it was all over, we had $5000 worth of landscape expenses and an internet phone that won't work in a power outage -no landline. Every month I spend hours fighting over incorrect billing. I am holding now (59 minutes so far) because they threatened to disconnect all my services if I didn't pay a $285 bill for equipment that was returned 2 weeks ago (confirmed by UPS). They won't speak to you if the bill isn't paid- so I had to pay this inaccurate bill. If that causes financial distress, too bad. You may not contest a charge until you pay the contested amount. Period. When/if a refund/credit is issued, it won't go back to your card or checking account right away. You will wait. Every time. Right now, they have my over payment, they have their equipment (and have for two weeks), and as usual at ATT billing time, I'm at work not working, but on the phone with ATT. My employer just loves this. So does my supervisor. She's been answering my phone and hers for an hour now. I'll probably get a raise :)

Managerial Contempt for AT&T Customer.
May 19, 2023

I visited the Kingwood, Tx AT&T Store near Houston. I bought a new watch that I originally went in for, and signed up for Direct TV that THEY encouraged because I commented my current provider is incompetent. The manager said he would be at my house two days later to install. (Direct TV doesn't do this.) He never set a time, never called me—never showed up. I called twice that day—no call back from anyone in the store. No one cared, and no one made any effort to save the AT&T account of decades. I realized the whole thing was a sham to sell a product—it was cruel. I reported the incident to both AT&T and Direct TV—and every review site I can find. Of course, I also canceled the DT account and "installation." I will never shop there again and will look for a new wireless company. Don't be cruel to hardworking customers: we bite.
