AT&T has a rating of 1.2 stars from 2,434 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about AT&T most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and next day problems. AT&T ranks 245th among Internet Service Provider sites.
Very disappointing when finding that all rewards offered when activating Internet 300 service online are automatically switched to a bundled product that after 7 weeks has not yet arrived. They sent an email 2-3 days after service activation showing that you qualify for an "extra" reward but what they don't disclose is that if accept this "extra" reward, it automatically disqualifies you from the other rewards, close to $250. Just cheating to get you in because most probably you won't even receive the bundle. After 7 weeks waiting period, they just said that an extra 4 weeks are needed. Would it arrive? I think this is just an AT&T SCAM!
I switched from T-Mobile to AT&T recently. Terrible experience from the beginning! Customer service is non-existent! Wait time to speak to a rep was greater than an hour multiple times! Additionally, my bill contained duplicate charges.
There was a fraudulent purchase on our account, someone purchased two phone and for the last month att has been trying to make us pay. They even disconnected our service, after telling us they were going to give us the $900 credit back to the account and all they have done is give us the run around and trying to make us pay. Horrible we are long time customers and this is how they repay us.

Their "customer service" is utterly useless and will waste hours of your time. I have wasted 17 hours since I switched to att, because of issues they caused. If you want to talk to someone and have them take care or a problem or do a simple task good luck. They will run you around in circles trying to sell you random stuff while you are asking them to do a simple task. Their website will not allow you to do simple things like remove a line you no longer need, which every other carrier does. They force you to call them and waste between 1-3 hours of your personal time. I would not recommend att to anyone unless I hated that person and even then its probably to harsh of a thing to do. All of this on top of the wireless service being sub par and intermittent. You can pay for their most expensive wireless plan and not be able to open a web browser without it taking 2-3 min to load a webpage. The have more deadspots than a cemetery.

I purchased with this company only to never receive my product. I honestly never do reviews but I want to safe someone for ever going through what i went through with this company. If you choose to purchase make sure they have product in stock or I recommend go to the store.

Hey, do not update phone and change phone numbers. They will make pay for the phone on the next monthly billing. I got a new phone from them. And my service got cut off, had to get a new number. Then had to pay almost 1300 dollars the next month. BUYER BEWARE

Spent 6 hours between chat and phone to try and resolve a simple issue concerning one of my phone lines. The bill indicated the wrong iphone model and the rep claimed they could do a simple fix... 6 hours later and the phone is not working at all and finally the last rep admitted that the initial rep tried to do a "short cut" to fix the issue and messed up the line. The issue was not my fault but somehow ATT would not do anything to resolve it. I suggested sending a new phone only to be told they have a deal on a new plan that would allow that to happen but that is all they could do. SERIOUSLY? 6 hours for an issue not caused by me and you want to sell me a new plan? HA-shopping for a new carrier today after 30+ years with them.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use this carrier-horrible customer service

Man ATT has gone way down! All they do is lie and lie. They suspended a line I no longer needed stating I would not be bill since no use! NOPE wrong! They billed me every month. On top of that I did a big payment of 618.84 and They tried to charge me again. That they had no record I was quick to pull up my bank statement. Seems their system missed it". Really? They apologized and said they would credit my suspended line for recieving incorrect information. They transferred me and seems they don't communicate they said no credit and I would be billed all over again. Walking right over to another phone store and canceling everything with these people including my cable. Now I see why fedex is full of there devices from so many customers cancel. Ridiculous!

I had AT&T Uverse/Internet. I liked the product but hate the company. I started out at around $139.00 per month. Within a little over a year, my bill jumped to over $200.00! They claim they give you promotional prices good for a year, yet they start rising after 3 months. Plus, when you call customer service, you get someone off shore than barely speaks English. After some research, I found internet at Spectrum and YouTube TV streaming gets more than I had with AT&T and $75.00 cheaper. Why would anyone use AT&T. Spectrum and YouTube TV also have customer service in the United States. Just know, AT&T is very expensive, they lie and you cannot understand anyone at customer service. It's a no brainer - you Can find cheaper and better service.

My mom's bill went up because of fraud on her account that was set for auto debit. When we called and they told us that she was charged for a restoral fee. They said I can call back Once the billing cycles shows the charge and ask for that to be waved. We called back and spoke with the representative and was told they cannot honor waving the restoral charge because the previous operator did not document it properly. So the customer is faulted because the last operator did not document it properly. I know the calls are also recorded so that seems like just another lie. Please AT&T don't treat your customers like they're stupid.

No longer a customer but yesterday their line that is still on my house came down to the ground during the storm. Called their 800 number to report it, very nice lady took ALL of my info including that I have this line down in my back yard where I have 4 dogs needing to go out. Over 24 hours later I just got a call from what sounded like their Indian call center wanting me to verify more info so they knew what kind of tech to send out. UMH how about the one that picks the $#*!ing line up you morons. Just informed them Ill cut it myself and toss it over the fence so the cops can take it up with them. How ignorant do you need to be to be on the board for ATT? Absolutely astonishes me that this company is so screwed up and it all stems from the top down. Screw them, pay a little extra for Comcast youll get what you pay for.

Worst waste of time trying to argue with a dumb computer for 30 minutes only trying to pay the usually over inflated bill. ( dont be surprised It's never what they promise you). The computer usually apologizes for being dumb and tries to transfer you where they charge you 5 dollars for giving THEM money for $#*!ty bare bones service. The computer in a pleasant man voice pretends like it understands full sentences but don't be fooled it lies just to aggrevate you, because it has joy in ruining people's lives and stealing their time. It's a useless system and so is ATnT

They are cheaper than comcast/spectrum but you get what you pay for. They cut my service while doing maintance and they never let me know in advance. When I walked down the street to see when it is back on the guys had a major attitude and said it could be off anytime in the next week but could not give me specifics, They were so rude it was if ther were trying to get me to cancel which I did and they did not try to keep me.

Customer service don't leave notes, they just tell u anything just to get you off the phone. I have been with AT&T for the last 5yrs been suppose to have changed service but procrastinated but after this time I'm over it. If u ask me y'all better pick another phone service provider.

I ordered a phone decided to send it back unopened and they told me they received it and gave me back my money from taxes. Next bill I was charged 827.00 for the phone they have. I spend 4 hours on the phone today for them to tell me they are keeping the phone and my money because I didn't read the fine print

After weeks of trying every support option, chat, phone, in store and twitter I was most fortunate to reach Diane in Las Vegas to fix the problem of having two plans for my one iPad. She was fabulous! Credits my account for over charging, troubleshooting the issue, adding notes for the mobility group on how to fix the problem... Diane is AWESOME! - Mike in Eastlake Ohio

When they updated to 5G it mad my 300 dollar phone not compatible anymore and to replace my 300 dollar phone they gave me a 40 dollar phone and said " your welcome". When I went to the store to complain the manager told me I'm welcome and and if I don't like it I'm under no contact and can leave at any time. Take this cheap crappy phone and or go screw yourself... Thanks AR&T... Never knew a business would treat their customers with such disrespect.

I have had the worst customer service in the store at King Of Prussia. I was told false information and all they did was take there money. I was laughed at in my Face By Sam and she advised she was the general manger. Those store employees and Rude and Disrespectful. I never have such a horrible experience anywhere the way I did here. I have filed a complaint threw the Federal Trade Comm. I should have read all the reviews before even going to AT&T that are horrible of what you put people threw.

Don't change to AT&T.

I have been a loyal AT&T customer for over years and years. Recently, I made some changes to my account and the representative clearly told me that there are no changes with my bills. I received a bill with a double amount of the bill I would have paid. Called customer service and the representative was so rude and refused to solve and understand my issue. I am not shocked that many other customers have the same issue. Never going back to AT&T.

Went to a store in Hemet, CA and was told the plan came with a free phone, x minutes, x texts and unlimited data including tethering (10GB actually). Fine, pay the money, get it all organized. Get out of the store and try tethering in the car. No way. Call help and am told tethering unlimited hasn't been allowed for a long time. Sales person lied and manager reassured me also. Went straight back to the store and was told(20+ minutes after leaving) that they cannot give me my money back and cancel because $'s were paid for air time, not for the phone. Pure deception. I got it back through my card company.

I've had a AT&T line down in my back yard for months and they still haven't fixed it. I've reported the hazard 4 times and still nobody will fix the line down in my back yard. Every time I call AT&T to talk to someone they tell me the same thing, that someone will come out and fix it the next day. It never happens though.

I didn't think there was a wireless company that had worse customer service than Verizon. I was wrong. The customer service is so poor, I couldn't even imagine how anyone could keep service with this company. I have tried for over the course of two days to get help with an order I placed. I get told they can't help. I get transferred to automated lines that disconnect me. I ask for a supervisor and get hung up on I just want my order cancelled and my money back.

One star is the lowest grade i could give.
I have received more than 2 dozen phone calls by representatives of AT&T. I have been approached on every occasion, and threatened with the option of accepting a deal to switch my landline service to a voice over service, or my service would be terminated; 'Tough' ' I don't know what to tell you' was their response. Its not a service we're going to be providing anyonore.
AT&T is paying people to harass and intimidate their customers. If placing unfair ultimatums on your paying customers isn't bad business; i will tell you the people that they hire to call you a do their bidding at all costs certainly is, and its repulsive. I can only imagine what the elderly population has gone through when answering the phone and being threatened and bullied by these tyrants. AT&T May cancel my service, but they will also lose a customer. I will replay these phone conversations to anyone i know with AT&T services.

Expect to wait at least an hour for someone to pick up the phone. Then the person will have to transfer you to the "right" person and you'll have another hefty wait. I have bundled service with ATT for 20 years, but the service has only worsened over time. As soon as I finish giving ATT the deserved lowest rating, I'm going to find another carrier for my phone, internet, and TV. ATT service is the worst!

Who ever this Jonny is needs a hearing aid and a good slap across the face. He didn't listen to me the 12 times I had to repeat myself, and after I told him I had been on hold 30 mins he transferred me and now I'm on hold again. Now it's going on an hour. If u guys would do ur job the 1st go around the rating ms wouldn't be so low. Find ppl who want to wrk!
