I was billed over $1,300 in data overages from a hotspot device that was stolen from my car. I filed a police report, named a suspect, and did everything I was supposed to do. AT&T refused to initiate a fraud case. Instead, they: Suspended my line so I couldn't even call for help Forced me to pay $732.33 just to unlock access to support Ignored 6+ requests for employee IDs Told me "we can't help you until you pay," then refused a refund after payment Called my police report a "civil matter" and used it as the reason to deny my fraud claim Lied about escalation pathways, refused to issue a case number, and closed chats without resolution Sent me a discount offer to restore service for others — but not me Claimed "your service appears to be on" even when I sent screenshots proving it wasn't They had the audacity to ask me when the hotspot was stolen after I had already provided the report multiple times. They violated their own terms, blocked access to fraud reporting, and now want me to pay an additional $1,339.87 to "move forward." I've filed with the FCC, CFPB, BBB, CPUC, and the California Attorney General, and I strongly encourage everyone else dealing with this company's negligence to do the same. DO NOT TRUST AT&T. They will bill you for fraud they refuse to investigate, lie to your face, and leave you without service when you need it most.

Was with AT&T for over 10 yrs. I left because they overcharge for their service. Had to visit 5 times to get them to release my phones and account. Then they continued to bill my, I was told they would refund the charged with a visa gift card. They now sent a charge to collections, which I will have to pay to save my credit.
Don't do business with AT&T, you're not valued as a customer. I would rate them as minus zero.

3/4/2025 I went to the local AT&T store to sign up for internet access for my computer, completed the order, and was told that I would receive the equipment in a few days. I received the equipment 4 days later and set up the equipment, not a difficult task, even though there were no instructions included with the equipment, but it's not exactly rocket science. I had internet access, so far so good, logged into my e-mail account and before I could check my e-mail the internet connection was broken. For the first day (3/4/2025) I reconnected repeatedly as the connection never lasted for longer than about 10-15 minutes, tops. The same continued into the second day (3/5/2025) with the system disconnecting repeatedly throughout the morning and afternoon. By 2-3 pm I was finally so frustrated, I disconnected the equipment, packed it back in the box, and went back to the AT&T store to cancel the service. Surprise, surprise the store couldn't cancel the service, I had to call AT&T to do that, and had to take the equipment to a UPS store to return it to AT&T. It seems that AT&T is shocked that a customer might be dissatisfied that their internet service seems to be unable to provide internet access.

RUN FAR AND FAST!
February 26, 2025

If you want high blood pressure, and to have your head explode please go with AT&T. They should have negative stars. After 25 years of being a NOT Valued customer and unbelievable rate hikes, they are holding me hostage. 6 hours on the phone today alone. They have "unlocked" my phone 4 times only to find its not. I ported my 2 numbers out after I paid the phones off and got them both "unlocked". Only to find Nope... Not unlocked. So now I am not with ATT, and my new carrier can't port my phone over since it is still locked and ATT keeps doing the hokeypokey and wasting my time, and talking in circles. If you like Word Salad, No Clue, No Service and wasting your time all while having a new phone you can't use - then ATT is your carrier! Don't try to leave - it's like a cult and they dont like it much. If they cant have you then nobody will. BEWARE!
UPDATE. Still on phone with att gets worse. Now they state I have to wait 2 weeks for them to escaalate this issue to get my phone code to unlock it. They claim they have to get it from Samsung. Samsung said that isnt true and that att gets the codes at time of purchase. 5 out of 7 att agents said if I was still a customer they could give it to me, this last person said that isnt true. Does anyone at att know anything or they just spin a wheel and give you what ever answer it lands on? Lovely way to spend a day, hope you dont have a job if you need to call att. Going on 8 hours today.

Absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. I cannot wait until my contract is up. Customer service is the worst I have experienced. No matter what the issue, it will be your fault. I sent in two (2) phones that we had for one year and received a $90.00 credit. They have quite the scam going on. I was told I would receive a $300.00 credit for each phone, at the time of the upgrade. Now I'm told they never received one and the other phone was actually only worth $90.00. The customer service agent that I just spoke with continued to tell me that there was nothing she could do unless I had the serial number for the lost phone. At&t had my email address wrong and she advised that it was my responsibility to provide them with the correct email address. Again, my fault that it was apparently typed in wrong by a previous agent. Unbelievably rude and accused me of not being truthful and basically told me that At&t does not make mistakes.

Worst Experience, Ever!
January 26, 2025

We switched over from Verizon to AT&T 4 months ago. We were locked into paying $159 (after taxes and fees) and for the last 4 month, we have been over charged well over $1000. Part of the promotion that we took part of, was for 2 iPhones, and 2 Apple Watches (which was a bogo deal) well needless to say, that was not the case. Which month were charged anywhere from $250-$500, and the month of December we were charged TWICE with different amounts. The customer service is an absolute nightmare. Spending hours on the phone only to never have anything resolved. The customer service that employees are able to call in a use is terrible also. We were at the store with the store manager during one of our many calls, and the reps were nasty to the manager right in front of us. Absolutely mind blowing and does not set a good tone for this company.
Wasted 4 months of time and money on this company. Should've never left Verizon.

AT&T steals your money
January 24, 2025

I am very disappointed with my recent experience with AT&T. When I signed up for their business service, the employee I dealt with failed to be upfront about the real prices and hidden fees. Jordan Muller at central Florida. I was quoted one price, but when the bill arrived, it was much higher due to additional charges and he lied to me during the setup process. Also all the credits he promised were not real. He sent me a PDF with the quote and I asked how much additional fees there would be and he lied about the amount. Said my first bills would be higher than the quote, around $300, but when I got the first bill it was over $900. When I called him, he told me not to pay, that he would resolve it. But in 3 weeks my phone service was cut and I lost a whole day of business calls. When I contacted him that my phone service was cut, he said just to get a prepaid SIM card with a new number until it was resolved. Obviously, that is not a solution when you have a business running. He finally admitted that there was nothing he can do to help me.

I feel misled, and the lack of transparency is unacceptable. As a customer, I expect honesty, especially when it comes to pricing. If AT&T wants to keep their customers, especially business customers, they need to ensure their employees provide accurate information and stop hiding fees in the fine print.

I would not recommend AT&T based on this experience.

Beware of this company
December 23, 2024

Beware of this company. They are not secure in anyway on their MyATT app. Mine got hacked and a double payment was made. One being authorized and another not. They will make you pay for their mistake. They will not correct it either. Their customer service is pathetic. They don't care about their customers they didn't through Covid either. I received a letter in the mail about my information being compromised and that they believed no personal information was stolen but explain to me how an unauthorized payment was made. Done go to T-Mobile for service they are by far AMAZING

I requested a stop process of payment from AT&T, and they told me that they could not do it and that my banking institution would have to. So, I called my bank, my bank stopped the process of payment on their end and told me that AT&T would have to do so on their end. I did not cancel my autopay; I called to transfer accounts for auto pay. I gave my information to the representative, and guess what, it was never put in along w/ the process of stopping the process of payment to a closed account was never completed. AT&T charged me a return check fee. I called in to complain and to see if they could override that due to the negligence was not on my end. One supervisor (some guy) was rude and ignorant and said that he wasn't doing it. This supervisor tried to make me believe that I said something on a recorded call to prove his case, and I asked him what did I say besides the fact that I followed protocol and asked AT&T to do their due diligence, and it was not done. I called the next morning and well, I am stuck w/ paying a return check fee. I have been with AT&T for 2years, and I keep having issues with my auto pay being kicked out, always having to pay extra money, etc. I started to go pre-paid when I paid my phone off, but a representative stated that I could have a better deal to remain in a contract. So, poor choice, I stayed and added another line. If I did not add another line, I would have dropped having a contract and went to prepaid services. It's either prepaid after I pay off this phone or on to another company. I am tired of AT&T.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER and BILL INCREASED DRASTICALLY with no explanation. I called Customer Service to sit on hold for 17 minutes and then "try" and speak with the person who could barely speak English. I was trying to resolve an issue from the previous month when I called and was told it was "all fixed now." SURPRISE, still messed up. All these representatives do is keep saying "please hold," "I am sorry about your experience but rest assured I will assist you," and when you tell them that the information you were provided the last time you called and they are now saying "I am sorry that is wrong but I will assist you," and you get completely different information. I have been with AT&T for over 10 years and the past couple of years their customer service is AWFUL! Can't speak English clearly to understand, have NO IDEA what they are saying and information they are providing, and everyone tells you something different! My elderly parents and my aunt are also with AT&T and unfortunately I have tried to assist both of them the past few weeks and also had horrible experiences (not to mention the phone calls both lasted over an hour and a half)! I have already switched to Verizon (as of yesterday) and I will be assisting my parents and aunt leave AT&T this weekend. Hard to believe that about 5 years ago I actually wrote another review for AT&T giving them 5 stars and talking about how they were one of the "few companies left who still truly believed in good customer service; and although the outcome of my conversation wasn't exactly what I hoped for, the customer service representative was polite, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything to me." What happened AT&T?

5G is genuinely bad. I have no data in many, many places and have been trying to unlock my ATT locked phone. I've been on the phone and chat lines for over 6 hours on many calls. They keep promising to unlock and never do. Finally, a higher level agent said that the phone is locked by Apple and ATT is helpless. I was on the phone for over 2 hours with Apple today (iPhone 14pro). They searched every database they have and did a diagnostic on the phone. We even did a full factory reset. According to Apple, it is totally in ATT's court to unlock... but they are failing to do as promised. Very dishonest. They are entrapping customers that want out due to extremely poor coverage and hence... poor customer care. Don't go with them. You will regret it.

Stay Away AT&T
July 13, 2024

Recently I was at Costco and reps for AT&T were there. I explained to them I had Verizon but they said they could do much better. I said I pay 145.00 with taxes and Disney+ Package. They said they could do much better. Well took a look at package and decided it was really better but close enough and with what I saved I could pay for Disney Package. So I said yes and that was my biggest Mistake. I was switching 3 phones and my wife was taking galaxy s23 so she had to wait for phone. Well Gio and Allison the Costco Riverhead reps for AT&T were not to bright. First they couldn't get my phone to work after all paperwork done. They played with my phone for about 3 hrs but couldn't set up AT&T. All they could say was sorry. As for my sons phone they said they needed the phone to switch it but he was at work. I decided to leave a go to a AT&T store where they got my phone working. They were also able to set up my sons phone. After this things got worse. As you can see I was supposed to get lots of Costco discounts but dint get any. They charged activation fees plus I didn't get my $10 off for auto pay with debit card plus other discounts that were listed. Bill was about double what I usually pay the that was without my wife's phone because hers was set up after bill date. Next month will be even more. Also coverage area very poor. Im constantly on a very slow internet connection and can't even bring up my email.
I GOT TAKEN FOR A RIDE.
PLEASE BE AWARE VERY AWARE OF HOW POOR AT&T REALLY IS.
MY OPINION STAY AWAY FROM AT&T
I just went online to my account and AT&T says my average bill in future will be $293.00. Going to be long 3 years.

I am the managing partner of a movie cinema in St. Louis. We called twice today due to no internet connectivity. We were told there is an outage and the issue would be corrected by the end of the day. It's now 9:30pm (11.5 hours later) and we still do not have internet connectivity. As a BUSINESS, we are critically dependent on internet connectivity. The majority of our ticket sales are generated ONLINE. We lost a lot of money today due to AT&T's inability to restore connectivity. I wish I could say this is the first time we had significant issues with AT&T, but it's not. AT&T is simply not a reliable provider. Not for business. Not for residential. We are likely going to switch to Spectrum.

Horrible experience. Ordered online, recieved email saying order is on hold next day. Called # in email and they said they couldn't locate my credit file (no one else has an issue). Confirmed my identity and waited 15 min to be approved. Was approved but he said he couldn't use old order and had to start new one. So spent 30 min doing a new order (had to confirm identity again too) to find out monthly bill is now $50 more than what order said online. Just canceled everything and guess I will be staying with Verizon. Sure would be nice if these company service companies used people that spoke good English as well.

For a month and a half I have been dealing with AT&T and I'm getting nowhere. I have 3 lines on my account. My son's phone screen just went black. We were told it was a warranty issue. We sent the phone back with a UPS label that was provided by AT&T, somehow UPS lost the phone because the only scan that UPS shows for that tracking number shows it was scanned into the UPS system and that's where it stops. AT&T has been rude and unhelpful. We were told by AT&T to file a claim with UPS, we did, then we get an email from UPS saying that we are the 3rd party and AT&T has to file the claim. We call AT&T and they are telling me that they can't submit a claim, it's our responsibility. UPS says it's up to AT&T and the whole time AT&T keeps saying that they won't restore our service until they get the phone or we pay $1000.00. This is ridiculous. I swear I'm ready to start calling attorney's to round up other people to start a class action lawsuit. First we had to deal with their damn data breach, now this. Can anyone help?

Be prepared to wait up to 3 hours to get someone on the phone, and then when they help you they will nicely SELL you an outdated phone or their Air internet service that looks like a toy and cannot be setup with customer support only available during business hours. Good luck with tech support. Don't get suckered into their selling tactics. I am on the phone now waiting again. The worst customer service.

I been with At&,t, Cingular, or whatever you wanna be called for 25 years. Every where else was cheaper. But had crappy service. I stayed where I had service anywhere. Fast forward to 2024. Now At&t use to be the best now they just as crappy as Verizon in my Area. (St.Joseph Mo,) now I don't really have internet services hardly ever and the stuff I be trying to watch that saying no internet so I leave it o. The page thinking it will get service eventually, and it does eventually. But the whole time I've been waiting on the freaking Internet to pop back on its steady clocking that ive been using data. But really I haven't cause it says no service at the top of my page and won't load. No happy with the services anymore at all. I can't get internet in my work building, barely AR my home. I don't know what happened to At&t but yall falloff. Your service sucks and everytime I call customer support yeah I get help but I can't barely understand what they're saying because I'm hard hearing and they don't speak English that well. I don't know what happened if yall sound the company or you need to upgrade your cell phone towers or put more out and quit being cheap. Because I'm seriously thinking of shopping for a different provider cause it's gotten that bad
