AT&T has a rating of 1.2 stars from 2,434 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about AT&T most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and next day problems. AT&T ranks 245th among Internet Service Provider sites.
Very disappointing when finding that all rewards offered when activating Internet 300 service online are automatically switched to a bundled product that after 7 weeks has not yet arrived. They sent an email 2-3 days after service activation showing that you qualify for an "extra" reward but what they don't disclose is that if accept this "extra" reward, it automatically disqualifies you from the other rewards, close to $250. Just cheating to get you in because most probably you won't even receive the bundle. After 7 weeks waiting period, they just said that an extra 4 weeks are needed. Would it arrive? I think this is just an AT&T SCAM!
I switched from T-Mobile to AT&T recently. Terrible experience from the beginning! Customer service is non-existent! Wait time to speak to a rep was greater than an hour multiple times! Additionally, my bill contained duplicate charges.
Atnt loves to lure in their customers with great deals and great offers then once they suck you in they charge you all kinds of crazy fees from out of nowhere like late charges and restoring fees even though they make the mistake in the first place of having your service turned off due to their negligence. If you have the choice to go to spectrum or another service I recommend going there and not dealing with AT&t because AT&t will scam you till your pockets are turned inside out.

Ordered my phone over the phone on installment plan. Was not offered next up. When I called about upgrading my phone now 24 months later. The person for AT&T on the phone said they don't have to offer it and probably forgot. So you will just have to pay off your phone if you want to upgrade. Not offering any resolution so the problem. Didn't care at all and pretty much said to bad to sad. This is the worst. I am a person that likes to upgrade and would have opted in right away. Thanks for making sure I move to a different company after this.

We have been with At&T for about 20 years now and I'm really hating them. They are shady af and so dishonest. They add extra things that you never ask for randomly and I'm so fed up with it. How is that even legal? Anytime we do anything at the store, it's never right and we always spend way more than whatever deal they have going. Without your consent, they will add on insurance and the extra upgrade fee of $6. We have been paying monthly installments on my husband's phone that he bought in full last year and the issue still isn't fixed after someone from our local store says they will fix it 3 times now. Then they say it may take 2-3 months to see the credit, just for us to repeat the entire process again every couple months. Omg. They are incompetent! AT&T is such a crappy company, trying to squeeze extra money from people and hoping you don't notice. My friend also just had a random upgrade on her line. She looked at the details and it was an "add-on" that she never asked for. What is going on over there? It's like employees are just out for extra commission or something.

AT&T is getting worse day by day. They need to train their employees not to annoy customers. Their plans are so expensive and they don't give a damn about their customers. They have started a new scheme to fool their customers with that AT&T next. AT&T says they are helping customers with att next but its actually them who are making so much money off of that att next scheme. It's such a big company but they only have plans for rich people. If you are poor then you should just go and find another company as they do not have any suitable plan for you. Their data plans start around 20-25 bucks whereas other companies give unlimited data for $10. I understand they want to make profit but it feels like they are just ripping their customers.

Right out of the gate they lied about how many times I was contacted. There was one phone call which I missed no voicemail no second call no text no email. I did receive a text 2 hours after the latest projected appointment time. From a work-from-home standpoint if you have an unreliable service it will definitely hurt your income if this is how they start out don't take the risk to see how things will pan out later... They can only offer an appointment over a week out. No thank you.

Purchased 3 phones and paid them off which they can see,but being that I currently have a balance they refuse to unlock any of the phones that are completely paid for. This is so crappy because all that I paid off the phone it's still really not mine.

Very very expensive here. They lost my hotspot and I have it in. They keep charging me for and I haven't hasn't even had no date in over a year and they won't give me a credit. Boy, they are quick with the threats and shutting your phone off I do not recommend company anybody for any reason

Paid what I thought was my final bill and switched to another carrier. Two months later, I received a threatening letter/bill for another month's charges plus late fee. Turns out I popped the ATT SIM card out a day into the next billing cycle. For this they demand over $100 or they will ruin my credit rating. Merry Christmas from ATT!

I did not have a contract with AT&T internet. I terminated my service 10 days into the billing cycle. I was forced to pay for the entire month as per terms of service even though i cancelled/terminated my services and disconnected. I will never use AT&T again and definitely not recommend.

No one will be able to answer your questions of your outrageous bill. And you will be continually charged even though you cancel your services with them. Business Loyalty department is a complete joke with idiot supervisor named Jerry who is no help and can't tell his $#*! from his face.

Had the pleasure of been waiting on by the manager Rich at Brass Mill Waterbury. What a knowledgeable, understanding, employee AT&T is lucky to have. Had me in and out in record time. It was a great experience. Thank you Rich

I opened 2 lines with AT&T on March 10,2021. I was told that my first bill was going to be higher around $270. I contacted AT&T again to confirm my first bill and I was told again it was going to be around $270.
My first bill came 2 days ago for $421.05. This is what you will get with 2 lines with this company in your first month so think about it twice before going in because they will not tell you the correct amount so you get in.

I recently signed up with AT&t after holding a one on one discussion about my prefered plan with sales representative and signed up for two lines with auto pay. In a fee weeks time they had deducted almost three times the original bill. Upon seeking explanation both at the store where I bought the plan and online customer service nothing made sense from their explanation. In my bill they had sneaked in extra unexplainable charges that sounded like double taxation to unsolicited insurance for my two phones that I never asked for. Not the phones are mine fully paid and factory unlocked from online purchase. I requested a for refund and the online customer service told me they have began a refund process that never was to this day. I soon will be exposing her and the guy at that store in Lynn for misleading info. I would never recommend At&T to anyone. From 65 to over 270 is that not fraud. If not what would one call it?

1.5 hours on the phone with an English challenged phillipino who told me they would mail a chip to me to get started. Next day I received a cancellation email. I called and they were lost and had no idea why. If I was willing to go through it again I could get one. I chose to stay with bad Customer service at Verizon. Good Luck with AT&T you'll need it.

I would give them zero stars, but that's not possible. The customer service is incredibly rude. They cut me off when I was speaking, told me I was "misinformed," and to stop calling because they couldn't help. Not the best way to treat the customer as if they are always right. It's also super frustrating that you can barely understand them. If you have an issue, odds are they will not be able to help you. Avoid this company at all costs!
Tip for consumers:
Dont bother calling customer service.

I ordered a new iphone 14 on presale. The sales rep at the store entered the wrong information. I called customer service, and they did not assist. The best possible solution was to cancel the order (which takes up to 5 days) then they will ship a new phone a month later....

My husband passed away & tried to change the name on account. Went to local store & they screwed up! Charged me $250 and then wouldn't remove charge for their mistake. Then disconnected my phone. Thanks for nothing. Signed Grieving Widow!

I sign up for 3 lines with at&t believing all the commercials on TV about getting free phones. We each gave our 3 older phones and we got new phones. That was a big horrible mistake.
My 1st month bill was $422 for singing up with them than 2 weeks later another bill for $89.
Now I got another bill 2 weeks just passed for $402. I'm literally paying off the new phones I got. Their a rip off don't sign up with at&t you'll regret it. I wish I never left T-mobile

I will never ever again give another dime to att. They are terrible and don't appreciate loyalty. They lie over charge and do not honor what other representatives have told you. It's so bad I think they are told to lie. And then act like you are lying when you tell them what was told to you. I would literally give them -5 starts if I could by far the worst company I've been dealt with

I became a victim of identity theft and fraud when someone accessed my AT&T account without my authorization and purchased a new phone and insurance plan, resulting in a $1299 charge to my bank account.
When I reported the fraudulent activity to AT&T, they refused to issue a full refund to my bank account and instead offered me a credit that would lock me in with their service, even though I have no contractual obligation with them. I had to deal with 7 different representatives who were rude, unhelpful and dismissive of my situation and who repeatedly hung up on me.
AT&T stole $1300 of my hard-earned money and denied me the right to get it back. This has caused me serious financial hardship and stress as I struggle to pay my bills and expenses.
Date of experience: April 17, 2023
Upon signing up they flat out lied about pricing and would not tell me what the bill would be before signing. Only an estimate. I told them I was willing to spend 250 per month on 4 lines, they assured me it would be close. My bill after the first three months has been steady at 384 dollars. I have insured all phones. I needed to use the insurance and they deductible was 250 dollars. They told me the phone was only worth 215 dollars. So my deductible was higher than the price of a replacement phone. I could go on and on about the hours spent on the phone with what they call customer service.

I have had AT&T for about a year now and it goes out so much. It's every other month it goes out and takes weeks before the show up to fix it. They know where the problem is but refuse to fix the issue correctly the first time and keep splicing the lines together. It takes weeks to get someone here once you call in the problem and then they do not show up where they are supposed to after the even send you the text messages saying they will be arriving at a certain time. Very bad for business and do not recommend AT&T at all.

They promised me discounts promotions, that magically dont apply to me, they were extra hidden charges, i traded my phone in, and i discovered if i cancel my plan i lose my previous phone and i have to pay off 1000 dollars on the new device. In conclusion i stuck with this company paying 25 dollars extra every month of what they promise and if i cancel the plan ill be without a device or service because they stole my $700 device. Terrible service by the way. No internet service in the city, by the airport, nowhere. Run away, save yourselves at least
