My sister lost her memory and communication ability. I obtained a POA to help.
Spent 21 hours on phone, 4 1/2 hours in store, to have them tell me they couldn't even get into her acct. They referred me to an email box that is always full, told me to go to their store. Couldn't help me there either. When I closed the account and tried to open a new one, a guy from fraud who sounded like Tony Soprano asked me questions about cars that I had owned in my life, (which were many) I flunked because I couldn't remember the years of the autos. The question were targeted for young people. I am 75 years old and have owned many cars. This has been one of the most frustrating situations I have ever encountered. Will speak with an attorney regarding the legality of their fraud questions.

I was totally deceived by the sales rep at the AT&T store. I was told my bill would be one price, but when the bill came it was significantly higher, like $80 higher. The guy flat out scammed me. These people have morality. In the midst of a pandemic they are out here scamming the public. BEWARE! This company practices deceptive sale tactics, and should be charged criminally.

ATT agents
August 18, 2022

Over two weeks trying to get email and over a dozen agents couldn't help. I had to cancel internet service because no one could figure out how to make it work. Going to Consumer Cellular tonight so I can cancel phone also. Even canceling the service took 35 minutes plus wait time!

Terrible service
November 17, 2022

Beware of Non-AT&T contractors and bad service
The inside installers were great. Very professional. However, the subpar contractors that AT&T sent to install the cables outside were horrible. They damaged my driveway with their 8k lb. Ditchwitch and allowed the machine to spill oil all over my drive. The AT&T Quality Auditor. K. Patterson was extremely rude and refused to do anything to correct the problem. We received a call from the Sub contractor who was nothing but a jerk and refused to fix our drive. Said we have to deal with an insurance claim. I called AT&T several times to resolve this and still no resolution. It's been two months and our cables are still exposed and AT&T has not corrected the problem.

WORST!
November 8, 2022

5G is the worst. They said the data is slow because I have new Iphone, they told me to upgraded my phone plan to premium then I will never experience the slow data even I am in the mountain. All lies. I already upgraded my phone plan to premium, pay more for the bill but still has no data. That's ridiculous. Been trying to contact customer services, technical support but here what they said "We tried our best but we can't do nothing about it". WTH

Just leant my Nephew - an army veteran with
3 tours in Iraq - almost 3000 dollars so he can pay them for roaming charges that should have been 50 dollars! He wife is pregnant with their 3rd child and and her blood pressure and anxiety is causing harm to her health and their unborn baby's health. She traveled to visit her mother in Costa Rica and they received a bill for 2850 dollars when she returned. They called and were told that someone - and said their representative- removed the 50 roaming charge limit. Now they are telling my
Nephew that he can't prove it wasn't him that removed it. Way to treat your customers AT&T! Pretty soon you won't have any customers left!

Can't handle it anymore. AT&T customer service representative or loyalty department are all layers. They are rude and lazy. I just canceled my service with AT&T after being a loyal customer for 12 years. Shame on AT&T!

Replacement phone
August 23, 2021

Phone representatives unable to distinguish between old phone # and new phone#.
Wrongly suspended both numbers. Unable day after day to get the problem fixed. Outsourcing is a major problem. Reps speak poor English and failed to understand problem. Many phone calls and long waits were unacceptable. After 10 days and much frustration went to a Service center to exchange unfixable phone with a new one.
When contract is up will switch to Verizon.

AT&T is one of the most dishonest and corrupt companies I've ever dealt with. I had Uverse service for years, simply because Comcast was the only alternative and was more expensive. I was overcharged by AT&T on average about every other month on my bill. It was always something different--they forgot I added a promotion, they charged me for extra receivers I didn't have, etc.--and the errors were always in their favor (what a surprise). So each time I'd have to call and waste 30+ minutes of my time straightening things out. I finally found a good deal with Comcast a couple of months ago, and cancelled AT&T. Incredibly, they've tried to bill me for both November and December, even though I disconnected with them on October 15. To add insult to injury, they claimed I wasn't due a refund even though I was paid up through October 24. These people are crooks, plain and simple.

I got an email about changes in service. One change was that people could cancel their internet and keep their email address. That's the only reason I pay them for internet. I use another service for my actual internet.

I went to the website trying to find out how to switch to just having email with them and couldn't find anything on the site. Then when I went to the help section I was timed out because even though once you sign in and choose a place to go, it opens a new window, but the original one stays open and that's the page that times out from inactivity.

Frustrating!

What a joke
January 14, 2022

I began 12/27/21 at the att on 135 in greenwood. From the gate it has been a $#*! show. They have had to ship 3 phones 3 times because they mistyped the phone numbers and they were never going to ship in the 1st place. Sitting on hold for 30-60 minutes every time I've called which has been more that 10 times in 2.5 weeks. Then on the phone w customer service for 10+ hours. Not exaggerating! All I wanted was to switch my service at T-Mobile to Att and bring 4 other lines. We got 4 new phones. Isn't this what they do everyday! Now I can't activate one of the phones because the other 2 lines were "just activated". Wtf does that even mean! For such a big company, they have no idea what they are doing. It is truly a joke. I can't believe I am saying this but I should've stayed w T-Mobile. Service at att sucks, it is awful and the worst I have ever dealt with… if you want a big headache and wasted time on the phone w att, go ahead and switch

Bait and Switch
December 30, 2021

If I could give zero stars, I would for AT&T and Direct TV. Buyer BEWARE! Their sales representatives state whatever they can to get you to sign up (classic Bait and Switch) and then the fees and services are not what was stated over the phone. They took advantage of my 90 year old aunt. Said one thing, did another, charged her out the wazoo. Then, they claim she had to pay a $450 cancellation fee, even though she canceled within eight days because she got an outlined paper in the mail for what they signed her up for, not what was agreed upon on the phone.

After speaking with multiple people, they won't admit to their unethical business practices. Now, she received a charge for $680 for who knows what!? My advice is to stay away from AT&T and any services they provide.

The company rips you off, charges for services they don't provide, you call customer service to fix but they can't fix nothing even though they are a technology company. So beware if you use them. They will scam you and do nothing to fix it, except give excuses.

Horrible!
June 23, 2019

We just started service with them a few weeks ago. We see that we are going to be paying a lot more than expected. My son noticed that online we should have a lot more for what we are paying. The chat tells him yes we can do that the. Gabriel Tells us no sorry this is what you get. Literally hangs up on us. Disrespectful, rude and the service suck! My god what a scam!

So completely disappointed. The AT&T salesman lied to me and sold me a phone with no charger! He also talked me into cable, which I've already switched to Spectrum bc the service was so bad. Regarding the phone bill. They literally try to rip me off any chance they get, padding the bill with small illegitimate charges. They'll apologize and back them off if I call, but it's literally almost every month and it's time-consuming. They need to get hit with a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. Switching just as soon as my phone is paid off and never coming back.

One star is too much for them. They are the worst to deal with and completely incompetent. You get a different answer from every person u talk to. Not one person is trained properly and all they do is pass the bucket from one incompetent dept to another. Pls do yourself a favor and use Verizon.

Their "customer service" is utterly useless and will waste hours of your time. I have wasted 17 hours since I switched to att, because of issues they caused. If you want to talk to someone and have them take care or a problem or do a simple task good luck. They will run you around in circles trying to sell you random stuff while you are asking them to do a simple task. Their website will not allow you to do simple things like remove a line you no longer need, which every other carrier does. They force you to call them and waste between 1-3 hours of your personal time. I would not recommend att to anyone unless I hated that person and even then its probably to harsh of a thing to do. All of this on top of the wireless service being sub par and intermittent. You can pay for their most expensive wireless plan and not be able to open a web browser without it taking 2-3 min to load a webpage. The have more deadspots than a cemetery.

This company is terrible
November 5, 2022

There was a fraudulent purchase on our account, someone purchased two phone and for the last month att has been trying to make us pay. They even disconnected our service, after telling us they were going to give us the $900 credit back to the account and all they have done is give us the run around and trying to make us pay. Horrible we are long time customers and this is how they repay us.

Spent 6 hours between chat and phone to try and resolve a simple issue concerning one of my phone lines. The bill indicated the wrong iphone model and the rep claimed they could do a simple fix... 6 hours later and the phone is not working at all and finally the last rep admitted that the initial rep tried to do a "short cut" to fix the issue and messed up the line. The issue was not my fault but somehow ATT would not do anything to resolve it. I suggested sending a new phone only to be told they have a deal on a new plan that would allow that to happen but that is all they could do. SERIOUSLY? 6 hours for an issue not caused by me and you want to sell me a new plan? HA-shopping for a new carrier today after 30+ years with them.

Complaints about unauthorized charges and poor communication from representatives are common, suggesting systemic problems in service delivery.
