AT&T has a rating of 1.2 stars from 2,434 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about AT&T most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and next day problems. AT&T ranks 245th among Internet Service Provider sites.
Very disappointing when finding that all rewards offered when activating Internet 300 service online are automatically switched to a bundled product that after 7 weeks has not yet arrived. They sent an email 2-3 days after service activation showing that you qualify for an "extra" reward but what they don't disclose is that if accept this "extra" reward, it automatically disqualifies you from the other rewards, close to $250. Just cheating to get you in because most probably you won't even receive the bundle. After 7 weeks waiting period, they just said that an extra 4 weeks are needed. Would it arrive? I think this is just an AT&T SCAM!
I switched from T-Mobile to AT&T recently. Terrible experience from the beginning! Customer service is non-existent! Wait time to speak to a rep was greater than an hour multiple times! Additionally, my bill contained duplicate charges.
Bad service losing internet service all the time bad customer service never seems to fix problems went out about 5 times in one month

This is an update to my original review below:
AT&T finally responded once I reached the office of the president. After much time. Aggravation and frustration, we determined the underlying problem, though no explanation of why this issue arose.
The underlying issue was corrected, my funds were finally credited, and they provided a courtesy credit for all my troubles.
This does not change the fact that their customer service does not follow SOP, training seems lacking, and I should not have had to reach out to corporate executives to have this issue resolved.
=====
I spent an inordinate amount of time on the phone, getting shuttled from department to department, providing the requested documents as requested via the Payment Inquiry Website provided by Supervisor Alex Molina (Claim # *******, Incident# **************) during a 60-minute phone call on 3/30 which commenced at 2:00 pm ET.
I then spent 45-minutes on the phone with my bank in order to arrange for a copy of the requested copy of the Electronic Fund Transfer provided by my bank (Bank of America) to the *******@att.com email address provided by Accounts receivable Supervisor Horatio Caesar during a 45-minute phone call 4/3 which commenced at 10:55 am ET.
I have automatic payments set up through my online banking, which sends a check for more than my bill amount, to avoid any shortages based on the varying bill due to days in the month. I send this payment two weeks ahead of the due date.
On 3/13 my bank sent a payment of $155 for my March bill, due 3/27. I have attached the EFT showing you deposited my check, which my bank indicated was deposited by you on 3/21, yet I started receiving non-payment notices and termination threats. At that time, I should have had a $24.60 credit in my account.
After discussing the issue as described above, I issued a check for the $130.40, despite you having already cashed my prior check for $155.
While checking my account today, I discovered that you have now issued a bill for $282.77, still showing the $130.40 as past due, despite your now having cashed two checks totaling $288.40, and had the audacity to charge me a $9.99 late fee, despite my account being noted that a payment was already sent.

I went into the store today to cancel 12 of 24 lines for my company. My husband died 3 years ago and the probate finally finished so we were able to get a new corporate EIN number. Same company. Just a different EIN number. GG helped me. He was absolutely wonderful. No complaints. He did what he needed to do and then called in to cancel the lines and apply for the new account under my name. He was told by the person on the line that I would have to pay a $500 per phone deposit in order to start a new account. It isn't technically a new account! It's just a new EIN number. Our company has been paying for phones for too many years to count. I want to make it extremely clear that these phones to go onto the new account were simply being transferred to the new account. We had been paying for these lines for years! I just downsized and did not need 24 phones.
So, GG told me I could cancel the lines over the phone and he gave me the number to call. I told him he was amazing but ATT has just crapped on a very good long term customer. Never once have we not paid our bill on time.
I will be dropping those lines tomorrow morning as soon as they open and then I'm driving to T-mobile and moving all the lines to them.
Congratulations ATT, you just screwed your self of a very good customer. I will spend the next six months telling everybody how you do business and I will ensure that I take advantage of TMobiles referral policy and I'm going to refer everybody I can. They don't even deserve one star. I will also be looking for as many sites as I can to tell this story. Everyone should know that ATT takes advantage of their long term customers and do not care.
Tip for consumers:
They are a horrible company and I hope they go out of business.
Products used:
Nothing. Because they wanted me to give them $5,500 just bc the EIN number changed.

Every department and every employee gives a different answer, OR, they don't know all the information and details they should in order to give an accurate and CORRECT answer. The information varies from each person and department, I'm told one thing, then another by a different employee. Didn't apply my paperless discount for over a year, told me they couldn't find the date I switched even though my account clearly states I'm paperless. Was told I would receive 25% military discount but hadn't. I called and was told my bill had to be in my son's name and go on line to do so. I went on line was told I couldn't do that on line had to call. I called and was told I couldn't switch I had to debundle my account, pay MORE for my internet because if I debundled it the price would increase, THEN I could switch the cell portion into my son's name and we'd receive the family military discount.
Utter BS. 1 year later, 3 hours on the phone. 4 different employees, 1 manager and NO resolve and ALL gave different information. I don't care about the piddly cents. I care about getting what I'M TOLD I'll receive. I upgraded to a higher bundle because I was told we would receive the 25% discount with my son being on the account. Now that's not possible and now I'm paying almost $400/month for services.
I don't appreciate companies with no integrity.

Bunch of criminals working at the AT&T warehouse. I sent back my trade in phone, a Note 10 in mint condition, and months after I never see the credit on my bill, they tell me they didn't receive my phone, instead the received some old flip phone. And now I lose on $800. Case #CM*******_******* was created and final outcome was that I lose on on $800 because AT&T has criminals working in their warehouse

Randall Stephenson, AT&T CEO - I have been calling AT&T since November
25th regarding a cable & telephone line that is down on the left side
Of the house barely touching the lawn. I consider this a hazardous as
Well as an emergency situation! I have been connecting to your
Phillippines outsourced center who wasted not only 45 minutes of my
Time on that day but again today for another 20 minutes by not
Transferring me to someone in the US despite my four requests in this
One conversation. I had to actually do research to find a telephone
Number to connect with a local office, which by the way is a big waste
Of my time. I understand you are thrilled that you are saving so much
Money by outsourcing all our jobs to the Phillippines for $333 USD per
Month, (I pay for 3 months of her salary hmm) but if you cannot find a
Way to provide a US repair number on my bill in the future as well as
To have someone repair the cable line on the left side of the house and
The cable line on the right side of the house by the end of business
Today, then I will be forced to quit AT&T which in my eyes today is no
Longer an American Corporation but a third world corporation. The
Telephone number is *******812. Today is December 1,2014

Dear AT&T Customer Service,
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the recent service call that was set up for my home internet service. Not only was the service call a complete waste of my time, but I also feel that I was grossly overcharged for a service that was not even performed at my house.
When the technician arrived at my home, he informed me that the issue with my internet was due to faulty wiring outside. He then proceeded to perform some work on the wiring, find out that a screwed was loose, which he claimed would fix the problem. However, shortly after he left, I noticed that my internet was still not working properly.
Upon further investigation, I discovered that the real issue was due to the wiring not being screwed properly on AT&T's end. This means that I was charged for a service that was not actually necessary, and the problem was not even fixed in the first place.
I am extremely disappointed with the level of service that I received from AT&T, and I feel that I have been a victim of fraud. Not only was I overcharged for a service that was not even performed at my house, but I also had to spend additional time and money to fix the charges.
Customer service told me that they can't remove the charge but they would remove 1/2 of the charge off one time only courtesy, I even got more upset for the fact that they think they were doing me a favor for a service they never performed at my place, and the charges that were wrongfully applied to my account.
In addition, I would like to rate my experience with AT&T's customer service as extremely poor. I would not recommend AT&T to anyone based on my recent experience.
