I've been doing business with AuZo for years. I've only had a few difficulties with them but never had high expectations since I, too, once worked in an auto parts store. However, I do expect a large company to have a friendly business model that says we appreciate you as a customer.
Typically I get my parts and other items at a local store. However, because I was looking for something that the local stores don't carry, I was forced to use their. Com site. I went ahead and ordered the items mostly because they could get them to me quicker than any other place.
After several days I get a random call from AutoZone's. Com customer service wanting to confirm my recent order from them. They caught me off guard as I wasn't near a computer and was working but went ahead and agreed, thinking how hard can this be. The first thing they wanted was the order number from the purchase invoice. Most of the questions they then asked me would have required having the invoice with the order number. Even with me explaining that they'd caught me off guard and that I wasn't in front of a computer, they canceled my order. They told me that I didn't answer the questions about my order correctly and that they canceled it. If I still wanted the items, I'd have to go back online and reorder them and then, of course, wait even longer for delivery since I'd already lost a couple of days.
I found the same items on another site with an A and a Z in the name, and I'm getting them two days earlier than what AutoZone could initially get them to me.
When I received the cancellation notice in my email, here's how it read:
"We have cancelled your order either at your request or because the product requested is out-of-stock at our fulfillment center and we are unable to source the product directly from the supplier."
This kind of treatment is an inferior way to treat a customer, and I will not use their. Com site again and most likely use the O or other parts stores instead.

Shady Company
December 17, 2023

Purchased a battery for $224 which was dead at purchase or I should say not charged or a bad cell. The guy looking up my purchase who also sold me the battery told me I didn't purchase it there. I argued of course as he fumbled around trying to locate my purchase. Finally there it is on the computer in front of him. I explained the battery is not working so he tested it and said you're right it's dead. So he then explains they
Must diagnose the battery by charging it. He said to come back in 4 hours. I call to see if my battery is ready and the guy I first spoke to has no clue how to answer my questions so I finally said may I speak to a manager. He gets the manager on the phone who happens to be the same fut who has trouble finding my purchase. I ask him about my battery he tells me it's fully charged and nothing wrong with it. I said how can auto zone sell me a battery that's not charged? He said well we don't check them. I said ok so what happens if I get the battery back to my car and it still doesn't work will I get it replaced and he said no! I said no I just purchased it. He then proceeds to say it must be my car. I said my car? I explained again that I hooked up the battery and my car would not start so I brought in the battery and he himself told me it's dead! He then says well we can't diagnose your car! My car? You sold me an uncharged battery or a battery with a bad cell and you're blaming my car? He said it could be electrical draining the battery. I said that's not logical. I hooked up the battery and my car wouldn't start so what you're saying is my car drained the battery in 5 minutes? He said he does not know! What kind of idiots work at this place and why in the world don't they replace a battery I just purchased? I will never do business with this company again.

2 stars is being generous

I bought a new battery from Autozone on April 19th and just 81 days later brought it back because it wouldn't hold a charge of course I thought it was my alternators problem because c'mon it's brand new battery come to find out the battery is bad... When I asked if theyd be able to replace it since it's within the 90 days or if at the very least they could give me a discount on a new battery and they were the rudest people ever talked to me like I'm an idiot and pretty much told me to get lost because even though I didn't physically get the battery til the 19th that I'd purchased it on the 14th and so the the warranty was out of date but I'm a manager at a retail store and I know there are some things that you could do to give better customer service and I was even going to pay for another one I was just asking for like $5 off and they wouldn't even do it and they sold me a bad battery I will never shop here again Ima tell everybody I know how horrible they treat their customers and don't stand behind their products. Bless your heart AutoZone!

BATTERY INSTALLED BACKWARDS
September 16, 2021

On August 05,2021, I stopped in the Autozone in my Pearl, MS and had my battery checked. I was told it was bad, so i purchased a new one. The lady at the counter asked me if I would like them to install it. I said please. The young man came outside and installed my batter. My car immediately started acting crazy, the horn was blowing and the wipers going on and the key was in my hand. FREAKED ME OUT. The young man unhooked the battery and it stopped. He hooked it up again, and it started doing the same thing. I got my phone and googled how to install the battery and realized that he had it hooked up backwards! He switched it around and the car crunk up. I drove 3.2 miles to my house. I got up the next morning and went to work 9.1 miles. My air conditioner quit blowing and the battery light came on. I took my car back to Autozone and told them what my car was doing, they said it had to be my alternator. They checked it and yep! It was the alternator. I got a mechanic to check my car out and he said yes the alternator was bad. I paid $500 for a new one and labor. MY CAR WAS STILL DOING THE SAME THING. $831.00 in total to find out that when the battery was installed BACKWARDS it blew the main fuse in my car, causing the DIODES to fail which resulted in damage to my alternator. Autozone paid me $331.00 of the $831.00 that it cost me to fix my car. That may not be a lot of money to some, but to me it was. They are telling me now that they will not give me the additional $500.00 This is not right, I was not at fault for this. I was WITHOUT my car for 11 days because of this issue. I have given them over a month to make it right and they still have not! I am lucky that it didnt cause more damage than it did, but Autozone needs to do the right thing!

Store number 08 33,Federal heights, Colorado on Federal boulevard. When I enter store was told quite rudely to leave my bag, I was in a hurry, and I understand why I was told, mind you wasn't asked, I was told. I was just going 5 ft right there at the first aisle to the fuses, so I told him I'll just set it right here I'm just going right here. Again I was in a hurry, as I'm looking at fuses he takes it upon himself to come over very quietly and take my bag from where I sat it and take it to the counter. Now I don't know the policies for employees touching people's personal belongings when they come in the store, and like I said I understand why I was told to leave my bag, but by all means, no way in hell should he have came and grabbed my bag and walked away with it. If he had a problem where I sat it he could either, which would have been nice to be asked to move it, or basically if he had a problem tell me to leave the store, I don't know, but that man came and grabbed my personal belongings and took it with him. I don't care if he took it one inch or if you took it to Wyoming, he touched my personal items and I know that's not allowed for somewhere in a book somewhere there's no way that that's allowed. This employee needs to be fired immediately, absolutely immediately, and I still bought my item, I still bought my fuse, they still got my business, but I will never ever go back to that location. I will never ever go back to an AutoZone period because of this. I was keeping my bag close to me for personal reasons, very personal reasons and he took that away from me. I wanted to write this review first before I did anything else, now when I'm finished I'm going to call my lawyers, and I am going to take this further, I'm going to find out every policy and every guideline and that employee will be fired and I will be suing AutoZone in the near future.

June 24,2018 I went to the Autozone at 8495 Fondren Rd Houston, TX to purchase spark plugs and oil for servicing my truck. The store manager Freddie sold me the wrong spark plugs and told me to gap them incorrectly which resulted in my engine being damaged. I contacted the district manager Chris, she wasn't much help. Then Jerry Carrier the regional manager for Houston contacted me and said he would like to work on making this right. Recently I contacted him to get their decision whether or not they were going to reimburse me for the money I was out due to the manager's mistake. I was informed that Jerry Carrier would be happy to have a mechanic call me and discuss the matter or he himself would be happy to come to my house and talk about the matter but that they were not going to accept fault even though the store manager sold the wrong spark plugs and told me to gap them wrong. Jerry Carrier got upset when I said that Autozone should do the right thing and reimburse me for the unnecessary expenses accured. He told me the claim was denied, he was cutting all communication and blocking my email address. He also called me a liar and told me I didn't know what I was talking about. I informed him that I had a couple of mechanics that stated this was a direct result of being sold the wrong spark plugs. The spark plugs that were sold to me were meant for newer vehicles not older vehicles like mine. I have been treated with disrespect, nastiness, rudeness and treated like I did something wrong instead of Autozone taking responsibility and making things right. I'm just trying to make sure something like this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Saturday night at 7:30 at night me and a friend went in to get some lights and some other objects for the vehicle we was accused of stealing and my friend walked out and got on their phone and then the employee comes up and cussed me out of the store he told me to empty my pockets and then some as I was in the process of doing it he told me no get out of the F*****Store so I went back two days later and talked to the main manager and she basically told me that I was a liar and she accused me for stealing if I was stealing wouldn't the scan machines go off neither one of them went off,
The store is located in Elkton Virginia ******* the main manager and the assistant manager and the one employee accused me and my friend of student and claims that they saw us putting lights infuses in our pockets that's basically a lie if the owner could contact me back that would be most appreciated because of what happened on Saturday night was on call for it from the employees I can tell you the names I'm not too sure what the main managers name is but the assistant manager in the employee that cussed me out

Went to Auto zone to get new wiper blades, store was empty, there were 2 employees up front by registers. I stood there for 5 minutes, not one person acknowledged that I was there, not even a "I'll be right with you". Finally one asked what I needed. I asked if they could help me find some wipers and what they would recommend. Well he pointed to where they were, said they only 2 types to pick from and when I looked online what was at store it showed 17 different ones that would fit my car and he said that's all he can do.

So I asked if there was someone to put them on for me, to make sure they were on correct, I had no clue how to do it. He said there was. So I picked out the blades, went to pay, 65 bucks, unbelievable! No warranty either. Paid and stepped aside waited and waited, finally asked again if there was anyone to help, same unfriendly guy said it will be a minute, and started to help another person who had issues that seemed like would take forever to resolve.

Finally another employee came up front and said he can put them on. Informed me that it was his first time putting them on. Drove home, parked car in garage. Next day at 5:30 am when I left the house for work, snow falling, freezing cold, I pulled out of driveway and turned wipers on, one of them went flying off, had to stop in street, in the dark, standing out in the cold while it was snowing trying to figure out how to put my own wipers on, so I can see on the way to work, since apparently the person at the Auto zone had no clue. Well I had no idea so went home found a ride to work late. Glad I was not on the highway otherwise there would of went my 65 bucks flying down the highway.

Anyways went back to Autozone on another day, told them that they were put on incorrect. The same Rude guy told me that there was no way they were put on wrong and accused me of it. Once again I asked that it be replaced, since it was damaged falling off due to the person not putting it on right. He argued and blamed it on me, told him my last set of wipers lasted over 5 years, he told me I was a liar and that they never last that long, so apparently theirs are junk. Finally he agreed to change it out. When I got home called the regional office, asked if I can submit a complaint, the lady ask what happened, said she would have another person call me to get the details gave me the name of Craig, well he never called, apparently its the whole operation that don't give a crap about their customers. Not happy, next time will be going to O'Rileys or Firestone, Midas, all of them seem much more helpful.

We hate customers
January 6, 2022

STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN from store 2244 las vegas These people are so lazy, the Lil chunky girl is the worse ever. I went in, there were 4 people doing n g nothing g, and only one other customer. I wanted a battery, si plde sale to make, but she refused to sell me a battery and said due to covid they couldn't I stall it anyway. WTF kind of excuse can you make? Needless to say, I had to go to a different auto store for my 200 $ battery. I guess the workers at this store decided that autozone doesn't want customers if they have to work in any form. STAY AWAY, there are mu h better auto stores out there. Remember Pep Boys,,, they went underandbecame a tire store, this autozone wants the same thing, soon go there or you will have parts that no longer have a warranty due to out of business. I hope they hurry up and close their stores. Cheap worthless parts and Terri le customer service. Don't bother calling the regional. Anger, he will ignore ycalland complai t. BE SMART AND SHOP ELSEWHERE.
