I bought a Duracell Ultra Platinum AGM BCI Group 24M Deep Cycle Marine
& RV Battery from the store in Columbia, Maryland in August 2018.
By May 2019 the battery will run the vent fan in my RV for not more than
20 minutes. It will not hold a charge. I thought, "No problem, there's a 30 month replacement warranty."The
Batteries Plus store in Columbia, Maryland charged it overnight and
'tested' it and claimed it is fine, there were no dead cells, and
Claimed that it was now fully charged. It's not. It died again after running the fan for 20 minutes. It will not hold a charge. Batteries Plus will not exchange it. They do not honor their warranty, using their 'test' as an excuse.

Warranty issues
November 17, 2023

I am a motorcycle enthusiast with a number of bikes. I've been buying all my batteries from batteries plus for about seven years. Even though their price was higher than just about ever place else, they are convenient and usually have what I need in stock. Also, I inaccurately assumed they would honor their warranty. Their mission seems to be to wear you down with days of testing and calling corporate until you give up and go somewhere else and buy a battery. IMO, they don't care if you don't come back as long as they don't have to replace your battery. After two days of charging the battery would not charge. They wanted to do another test that would take another 18 hours. I gave up at that point.
One other item, after the battery failed and would not charge in my vehicle, I removed it serviced it with distilled water and tried to charge it again. It still would not go above 3.8 volts. Lars at the Lake Worth Texas store claimed that I had overfilled it and that I should have used "Motorcycle Battery Acid" instead of distilled water. There is no such thing as motorcycle battery acid. H2SO4 is sulfuric acid no matter what kind of battery you put it in and you should never add anything to a lead acid battery except distilled or de-ionized water. They do have a very nice clean facility and friendly people. It is unfortunate that people like me don't read reviews until they have a problem. Batteries Plus has a 1.8 out of five stars and is not accredited by the BBB.

Rude manager
March 15, 2023

Went into bolingbrook il store to get a cell battery replaced. They took 3 hrs broke my back of the phone replaced it with a ugly blue one. They kept telling me they weren't going to charge me for the cover they broke. After the 4th time I said why would you charge me you should be offering a discount. The guy said we don't do that manager came out kept saying were not charging you for ( what they broke) then went picked up a pack of batteries and said 3 time you want this,is this what you want.I told him I wanted his card he was rude to me. I left only to find out I had to go back in because they never put my sims card back in. Called costumer service twice now because of the manager and the battbattery still shows weak. I dont think they even replaced it.

Today May 9th 2023 I bought a 12-pack of 9volts batteries with an expected 5 year battery life as indicated on the package. BatteryPlus Pineville NC store sold me this package with 3 years of battery life left on them. Big time deceiving to say the least.

3 times the price for small lithium batteries...most expensive in town...large car/tractor batteries a little more reasonable - online purchases better option than store for lithium

I would give them a zero if I could. I bought an expensive, higher rated, battery ($237.00 worth) for my car in December of 2020. Fast forward to February 2021 and the sub zero weather hit. My new battery was dead as it gets. I jumped the thing and ran errands for the next few hours never turning the vehicle off for fear of not starting again. The last errand was back to the 135th Metcalf store where I purchased it. They "tested" it and said it was fine and refused to replace under warranty. Less than 60 days old! My advice, buy at Costco. My Son did and 16 months after purchasing it would not start. They replaced it on the spot with a brand new battery, no question. I knew I should have gone there instead! What this franchisee needs to learn is good customer service pays big, recurring dividends and makes for a loyal customer, for life. Poor customer service means for each event, that customer is going to tell multiple people about their experience. Bad news travels faster than good resulting in lost future revenue and customers No, not every unhappy customer will take the time to write a review like this one, but they will take the time to share their experiences with your business, many times over with many people. This is called word of mouth. I know I will. Bottom line- Go anywhere but Batteries Plus

Fake warranty
October 22, 2023

I advise anyone to NEVER do business with batteries plus on Davis Blvd in North Richland Hills because they don't stand up to their warranty,,I purchased a Lithium battery for my motorcycle and after a few months the battery failed and when I took it back in to have it checked out they told me that it wasn't under warranty although the book clearly says it has a 3 year warranty,,I called them several times and got no help so I'm stuck with a $150 unusable battery

I recently purchased a new battery for my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee when I drove it home I noticed the passenger seat back cover was no longer attached properly. The battery is located under the passenger seat. I stopped by later in the week to order a new key fob and have them check the seat back cover that covers the airbag and an employee looked at it denied any responsibility for the damage, told me to take it to the dealer. I decided to wait until my key fob came in to complain again about my seat back. They again said take it to the dealer for a repair and estimate. The dealer quoted over 200.00 just to look at it, not including any parts. I then noticed my new key fob was not programmed correctly so returned to the store to have them fix it and give them the quote from the dealer. The manager came out to talk to me and denied any responsibility and said they would not pay for the damages and said I couldn't prove it was done by their technician. After spending over 600.00 there I was appalled and upset at the way they treated me as a paying customer. This dispute will be taken to the next level. Beware of this establishment because they are argumentative, irresponsible, and rude when faced with a customer that only wants his car put back to the condition it was when I brought it in.

Enter at your own risk

I took my cell phone to Batteries Plus Garner NC store to get a new battery on June 17,2023 and they put a new battery in my iphone8 for $64.34. Got home and discovered the microphone did not work. I took the phone back and they told me they had to order parts to fix the microphone which they ordered but could not fix it. Therefore, they had to order a refurbished phone for me which I still have not received. They told me after I called them to check on the phone that it was sent to the wrong place. I have been without a phone all this time and am very dissatisfied. I had to go out of town 2 separate weeks without my phone.

I contacted the customer care home office 3 times and finally got a reply that the district manager would be in touch with me. Today some one from the store called and said district manager agreed with store. They will give me a the refurbished phone which finally came in and refund for the battery. I think this is very unfair since my phone worked perfectly well when I had the battery replaced. They were the ones who broke it. They should at least give me 100.00 for the phone plus the battery refund. I already bought a new phone.

Horrible
January 31, 2024

I purchased a Duracell gold battery in November which is two months ago and the battery went dead with out notice. Had to jump the car which left me to call my brother who lives one hour away. Drove the car home which is a 2013 Dodge Journey, mind you the wheel has to be removed to get to the battery in the wheel well which they will not install. When this battery was purchased I commented that is looked like it had already been installed in another vehicle prier to my purchase of it because of a battery locking bar mark on it. But I was assured that was not possible. The next day the car started so I drove it to the batteries plus in Tyler and they tested the battery which they confirmed that the battery was only charging to a 50 percent charge and had a bad cell in it. Told them I would like a refund and they said it was over 14 days so I said fine they gave me another battery and I headed for our car in the parking lot. Got to the car and my son which was carrying the new battery he had acid down his arm. Another bad battery they said. Gave us a third battery as they still refused us a refund. Did not want a third bad battery so I had to call customer service plus which they called the General Manager and he contacted me back. Had to explain the whole situation to customer service and the GM which he agreed to a refund but he said because I paid with cash it would be a mailed check that would take 1 to 3 weeks after a sketchy conversation about fraud and some other stuff that does not make sense with a cash transaction. Told the GM that I need the money to get a working battery for car which he refused and said he could do nothing else which got more rude as conversation went on. Also informed him of leaving negative and he did not care. So I had to go to advanced auto parts where I bought another battery while I wait for a 1 to 3 week refund. Also kept my core battery and need to pay hospital bill for my sons arm and wasted gas money as far as I'm concerned. Horrible store, Duracell batteries are horrible and the store and is ran horrible from my view. Never again.
