Spent a miserable night and morning trying to get the things online I needed. GOT NONE! Site would not respond. I would get one thing and the site would go down. Now all discounts and specials I wanted are gone. THANKS BELKS... no I know how the OBAMACARE website works. You must be using the same company to service your site.
I ordered something on line on Black Friday, and received a confirmation for it. Now, I could have walked one block to the Belk, or I could have walked one block in a different direction and gone to Macys, but no, I had it shipped to one of my daughters. 10 days later, when it hadn't shipped I contacted them and they promptly cancelled the order. When I replied and said I didn't want it cancelled, they responded that they hadn't charged for it. That wasn't the point. The item was out of stock that day, but they were advertising it again within a week. So... no more belk.com for me.
I'm not sure where all these bad reviews are coming from. But I have been a recent shopper of Belk. To be quite honest I live in LA, and have never heard of Belk. I ordered cosmetics from there site and ordered 6 different times within a span of 3 days. I received confirmation for all my orders and all orders were either shipped that day or next business day. I was only billed once for each order. This company ships fast and they only bill once. I really do like this site and would recommend this site to anyone looking to purchase cosmetics. BTW, with cosmetics there is no minimum for free shipping, that is why I was able to order 6 different times with no shipping costs. I did experience a bug, only once where in my shopping cart the checkout button was missing. But that was easily fixed, I just used a different browser. The issues was probably with my cookies in the same browser I used to place my other orders.
Other than that. This company ships fast and I did not experience getting ripped off. It sounds like impatient user error.
I purchased a pair of shoes on belk.com. This was my first and LAST time shopping at belk. I received a size 12 shoe when I meant to order a size 8.5. When I contacted customer service via chat message I was informed that the order was in fact for a size 12 and as a result there was nothing that they could do for me except to refund my purchase after I sent back the wrong size shoe at my own expense. I understand that it "appears" as though the error was mine (still not sure about that one), however it is not as though I was off by half a size either way. Clearly any reasonable person would have seen that someone who wears a size 8.5 would not purposely order a size 12. Unfortunately, their customer service associates are likely given a script to follow and are not empowered to ensure that the customer is satisfied. Instead they simply regurgitate their refund policy and say they are sorry for the inconvenience. This is why American based businesses are going down the toilet, they do not know how to treat their customers. Instead of returning the shoes, I've opted to donate them to a local charity and NEVER shop belk again.
Belk.com - FIND YOUR BIG BOY PANTS AND GET THEM ON! For a major retailer, your site is woefully unprepared for Black Friday. Slooooowww when it works, then dumps you to a cutie-pie message page about be "fashionably early" to get me back in site. Yet, 10 minutes later, I'm still waiting. Well, I wait no more... Belk is a great store - it needs a website to meet the need.
I ordered 7 articles of clothing and instead recieved a cheap ring and nothing else. I emailed Belky numerous times and I get generic responses. I reported to my credit card company and hope they can get a refund. If something seems to good to be true it's because it is. DO NOT ORDER FROM THOS SITE.
3 minutes after making a purchase is not possible to modify or cancel it and the customer service cannot be worse, extremely rude and impolite i do not recommend this site, protect yor money.
I ordered a 139.00 Calvin Klein dress for a church function. Eight days later the dress arrived, balled up and stuffed in to a small plastic envelope. Which was ok since the fabric is not vulnerable to wrinkles. When I opened the envelope, the slip lining fell out of the bag. It was not attached to the dress as it should have been. Further inspection revealed that the zipper was broken in its open section. Since the delivery took so long, I now have no time to order anything else. I called Belk and the first rep was very nice and said he would look for something similar and if I liked it, he would over-night it to me. He was to call me in an hour. He never called. After 1.5 hours, I called back. This time I was met with rudeness. This guy explained that there is no way they could "look for something similar" saying that their system does not work that way. The return was processed, but nothing else was entered. He told me that I needed to go out and find something else. I offered to have the dress altered if I could get reimbursed and after putting me on hold, he said they could not do that either and I needed to go get something else and he was the only one advocating for me in telling me to get something else. I don't understand how items could be sent out without a quality check and there is never a need for a rude tone or lies. That was my first and last order with Belk. I have several items in my cart that I am deleting and I'm blocking their messages.
Wouldn't even give one star... I made an order last Saturday, got a confirmation email that same day. On Monday, I get an email saying they've CANCELLED my order- no explanation given. I sent an email to ask why, and as of today (Thursday) absolutely no response. NOT GOOD! Especially going into the holiday season when people will be buying gifts for family and friends. To just have your order cancelled a couple of days after you make the order seems pretty unacceptable. And then to give no reason- really unacceptable. Their canned cancellation email said something like- ‘So sorry! And don't worry, your card won't be charged. Hopefully you'll give us another chance!' But NO, I certainly won't. And yeah, mentioning that they won't charge me for the order I won't be getting? How very gracious of them. There are many other retailers who actually value their customers, so I'll make it a point to buy from them instead. If you're looking to get gifts for the holidays, I'd think twice about ordering from belk.com. Who knows- if they cancelled my order, then your orders could be cancelled with no explanation also.
Don't buy online as you run the risk of paying ridiculous amounts for return shipping as Belk does not have free returns. Should have ordered from Macys! Live and learn.
So I purchased 25 items online from belk as a first time shopper. The sales were just too good to pass up and I really needed work/winter clothes. After purchasing I realized that I didnt look up reviews beforehand to make sure this was a reputable company as I had never heard of them (bad on my part). All I saw was bad reviews especially about purchasing online which made me extremely nervous, but decided that whatever it's too late and ill just find out for myself whether purchasing was a good idea or not. It took me about 2-3 weeks to get everything I ordered and every single item I got was perfect (I live in oregon for reference). Quality was exactly what was described and shown in the photos and the sale prices were such a bargain. Way cheaper than buying online from kohl's or target but the same type of quality. I think the only people that take the time to sit down and write a review are the angry ones which makes sense but thats what encouraged me to write this about pleasant experience that I personally had. I will definitely be online shopping here again
I spent over $300 school shopping and NOT ONE PIECE OF CLOTHING IS IN TACT JUST 2 MONTHS LATER! Why? Unraveling material. Unbelievable shrinking. Colors bleeding. This has to be the worst retail experience I have ever had. The quality of clothing is just awful. Thrift store clothing at a price most can't afford!
I worked for Belk in Cape Coral, I was the best employee, on September 22 we were hit by Hurricane IAN, my house in PKWY was totally lost, we spent 12 days without water and electricity, Belk opened on October 9,2022. My critical conditions prevented me from returning to the work immediately the current boss Pamela Perreira said that I had family problems when she saw the photos of my house.
WORST STORE EVER, They refuse to cancel order immediately after it was placed, they ship item and make it VERY HARD for you to return and complicate the process so you forcibly keep the item beside very rude customer service who ended the chat during the middle of the conversation.
They are refusing to send FedEx pickup for the package and want me to go to FedEx store which is not near me to drop package in the middle of pandemic and risk my health to get refund, they are trying to make it hard to return items in hope you change your mind and keep the item.
NEVER EVER buying anything from this company again, absolutely HORRIBLE customer service.
Ordered the second day of November and it is now 12/8. I ordered several tops planning on wearing on Thanksgiving now wondering if I will get them for Christmas
Well, I went to belks at coastal grand mall in myrtle beach, sc to the Lancôme counter with a coupon and to purchase a bonus gift box, 4/*******, around 5or6pm, the elderly associate became very loud and rude when I asked about the sale. She said mam we sold out by 9am and walked off, then another girl came up and tried to sale things I didn't even want, honestly I Will never shop at belks again. I went to jcpennystoreclosing and had a wonderful shopping experience, oh yes by the way I am white so I think they are just very rude at this belks.

I love this store, which has top-notch Customer Service in every department. Also, this store has an excellent variety of choices for all sizes.
An example of the excellent customer service I receive today… when I approached Rodney, who was working diligently behind the register, and asked him some questions about where I could find certain things, he was happy to help me find exactly what I was there to purchase. He actually walked with me to a few areas to show me what was available. He was also extremely pleasant with a happy, positive attitude.
A second example from today… I had a full, heavy load of clothing and shoes in my arms, and a very helpful woman in the jewelry department, offered me a shopping cart. She informed me that she keeps an empty cart in her work area for anyone who might need one. How thoughtful!
On a previous trip at this same store, I couldn't find my car keys after checking out, and an employee in the shoe department, searched the entire store, eventually finding them on the floor in the clothing department. She saved me!
Whenever I need to buy something for an event, I head to this particular Belk store.
Today, I ended up buying a beautiful dress, matching jewelry, and a pair of shoes for my grandson's wedding. In addition, I purchased 5 blouses. With Belk's amazing savings, I spent under $200! Incredible! A special "Thank you!" To Rodney. Belk is fortunate to have such a customer service-minded employee!
Belk's merchandise quality as well as selection and customer service is in a steady decline! It was MUCH better before it was sold to the new owners!
After I purchased few items. The items is shown to be out of stock but the website still shows the items available. Due to this unprofessional experience, I will no longer shop at Belk.
Makes you pay for returns and oh by the way, you have to pay for shipping too. One of the worst policies ever. Will be last time I buy from these clowns.
